History

The Safe Haven was built and established in the year of 5120 after the storyline Clipped Wings. The funds for the Safe Haven were raised by the Mist Harbor Militia, Defenders of Mist Harbor, and Caeruil Atelier. Its use is for housing the citizens of Mist Harbor in times of crisis. Special thanks for development go to Rohese and Avawren.

Location

The Safe Haven is located on the western side of Mist Harbor in a cemetery just northeast of the fountain. It is located in a tunnel off of Jaston's temple. [Lich ID 4013]

Rooms

[Mist Harbor, Cavern Entry]

An enormous black iron door, its face carved with labyrinthine whorls and bas-relief tunnels, stands as a formidable guard to the world beyond the cavern. A series of wide bronze braziers, each one set equidistant from its neighbor, lines the long corridor, the brightly glowing coals casting shadows on the distant ceiling. Painted onto the smooth walls are a series of bright blue, azure, and white murals. You also see a narrow tunnel leading back towards the larger cavern and a stocky serious-faced guard. Obvious exits: none

[Safe Haven, Entryway]

This room features a high, vaulted ceiling with carved stone trusses, creating a stark contrast to the cavern floor and rough-hewn passages. Niches line the walls, the small spaces filled with trinkets and baubles that memorialize fallen defenders and the more noteworthy battles of Mist Harbor. At one end of the room stands a large mithril-banded hatch which opens inwards. You also see an enormous black iron door. Obvious exits: none

[Safe Haven, Great Room]

This large cavern has been arranged as a multi-purpose room, providing shelter in times of need and a gathering or practice space for citizens and militia alike. Flanked by an archway and a door, the entrance passageway stands opposite a large hearth, constructed of local materials and shadowed by a large tapestry featuring the Mist Harbor crest above it. The modular nature of the room features some padded benches for meetings that can be pushed aside in times of need. You also see a large mithril-banded hatch and a wide tunnel with the militia crest mounted on the wall above it. Obvious exits: none

[Safe Haven, Common Room]

This cavern serves as a casual gathering place as well as a work space for the militia. It is cozy and comfortable, with some plush chairs strewn about the space in a somewhat haphazard manner. In one corner is a large desk which can be used for daily paperwork or reports, or for strategy meetings. A wide tunnel with the militia crest mounted on the wall above it leads back to the Great Room. You also see a small refreshments table with some stuff on it. Obvious exits: none

[Safe Haven, Infirmary]

This room is spacious and well lit, with smoothly hewn walls and a floor that can easily be scrubbed clean. Folded cots line the walls, ready to be set up at a moment's notice to receive incoming wounded. A spacious cabinet stands off to one side, directly next to a large work table covered with a swath of white linen. Along the uppermost portion of the walls is a scrolling collection of images, depicting numerous stylized healing herbs intermingled with brightly colored, tropical birds. You also see a wide archway and an engraved placard centered on one wall. Obvious exits: none

[Safe Haven, Pantry]

A long wooden table with benches dominates the center of the space, the clutter of meals and snacks past strewn around it haphazardly. Shelves have been carved into the cavern walls around the perimeter, stocked with various foodstuffs and supplies, rendering the air thick with the mingled odors of various spices. A rhimar chest sits against one wall with a handwritten sign just above it. You also see a bleached pine wood door. Obvious exits: none

Amenities

The Safe Haven has an herb cabinet in the infirmary and a rhimar chest in the pantry for storing perishable foods.
