The Great Western Sea is the ocean surrounding the western side of the continent of Elanith. Parts of this ocean can be traveled by ship including the Obsidian Trench, Obsidian Sea, Sea of Lazuli and South of Sea of Lazuli, Solhaven Bay, Cobalt Depths and South of Cobalt Depths, Darkstone Bay, and the Kestrel Sea and South Kestral Sea.
The sea is kept mostly free of piracy by the Turamzzyrian Empire in a naval program that began under Emperor Chaston Kestrel. The main source of danger on the sea, besides sea creatures, are the krolvin who still send raiding missions down along the coast.
