Book Buddies

A Book Buddy is a magically altered sorcerer rune book or alchemy recipe tome. Additionally, the script can be added to existing recipe and rune books via certificate. Alchemy book Analyze You analyze your leather tome and sense that the creator has provided the following information: ************************ This tome is one of the Book Buddies! It currently has FLAMINGO style messaging. Your Book Buddy can be animated using TOUCH. When it is animated, use SNAP to have it land on a bookstand alongside you. (moves to inventory alongside). SNAP again to animate it then TOUCH to return it to normal form. When animated you can PROD it to toggle ambient messaging on or off. Any merchant who is comfortable handling your Book Buddy is free to do regular base and long alterations. It can be a book, tome, grimoire, magnum opus, opus, volume, manual, textbook, booklet, codex, compendium, lexicon, folio, or enchiridion. Only a special EG merchant can make changes to custom fields 1 - 5. They must make sense for the style. The current custom settings are: 1 = "long legs" - Limbs. wings/legs/arms etc. 2 = "marches" - Movement. moves/flies/walks etc. 3 = "a bookstand" - Bookstand. Full 15/15/15. 4 = "pages" - Pages. Can have an adjective. Must be some sort of paper, vellum, etc. 5 = "marching" - Movement ending in -ing. moving/flying/running etc. ************************ You get no sense of whether or not the tome may be further lightened. Usage Verb Style First Third Touch Animate As you touch the <book>, it unfurls <limbs> and <movement style> from your hand! As XXX touches the <book>, it unfurls <limbs> and <movement style> from her hand! Touch Unanimate As you touch the <book>, its <limbs> curl back up into its spine after it <movement style> into your hand! As XXX touches the <book>, its <limbs> curl back up into its spine after it <movement style> into her hand! Snap Onto bookstand As you snap your fingers, your <book> folds up its <limbs>, then sprouts a <bookstand> to rest on the floor alongside you. As XX snaps her fingers, her <book> folds up its <limbs>, then sprouts a <bookstand> to rest on the floor alongside her. Snap Off bookstand As you snap your fingers, your <book> unfurls its <limbs> and marches from a <bookstand> on the ground alongside you, which then fades away into nothing. As XXX snaps her fingers, her <book> unfurls its long legs and marches from a <bookstand> on the ground alongside her, which then fades away into nothing. Prod Ambient on The <book> shivers slightly. (Ambients On) N/A Prod Ambient off The <book> grows still for a moment. (Ambients Off) N/A
