Ollie, I request that my account be deleted, and that all input I've had on your wiki be deleted. This is the courtesty that wikipedia gives, and I hope you do the same for us lowly users. --SUGARBOY234554 13:39, 23 September 2006 (EDT)

Redirects?

Just a quick question: Why are we getting rid of the redirected articles? BELATHUS 11:18, 13 January 2006 (CST)

There were some people that didn't want me to add infomation about their tribes in fear that someone else might decide to pick up the tribe. I never intended on copying information, and I haven't done so since I realized that I couldn't. However, copyright wise, I highly doubt I'd have a problem with writing about someone's tribe, I just don't want to do so if they do not want that information to be spread. -BELATHUS 05:40, 14 January 2006 (CST)

Botty Botterson

Yeah, I could probably hack together something. I could just make it interactive so it requires me to confirm any additions, that would be the safest thing. I think that's what I'll do, in fact. I'll work on it tomorrow or something. Ildran 00:16, 18 January 2006 (CST)

Copyrights

Yeah, I could see that being useful. They do use them basically entirely on images, I believe. If we go with that, I'd suggest having the policy that they be located at the top of the talk page rather than in the article itself, since that should keep the information available but not make it obnoxious. - Ildran 08:33, 25 January 2006 (PST)

I took a look around, and I didn't see anything that references the GFDL anymore. Which is good, since if we're including that stuff in here then we shouldn't be automatically putting stuff under the GFDL. I don't know if there might be anywhere that it's still mentioned, though. - Ildran 09:19, 25 January 2006 (PST)

Go go gadget bar graphs

The label thinger looks good.

I was entertained by how ridiculously different the first one is from the rest. It's 75,000% faster than the next closest option. (Gigabyte just released a "hard drive" that uses RAM as its storage medium, so it's stupid-fast to do stuff like random access). Here's another:

Categories

Hey, I saw a neat thing on WP today. You can change what title something goes under in a category by doing something like [[Category:Skills|This is the page title]]. Most useful is you can add an article for a category (like adding Arkati to Category:Arkati) and force it to appear at the top by doing [[Category:Arkati| ]]. - Ildran 20:02, 25 January 2006 (PST)

Go look at the Zelia page, and don't say I don't do anything! JADE123 08:59, 26 January 2006 (PST)Jenny

Spell Lists

I wondered about putting the spell lists on the circle pages, but after I did the first one I realized I could just cut and paste them out of the webpage and have Excel do all the formatting for me, so it was painless to do the rest. Let me know if you'd like me to remove them and I will. Thanks! Kyre 16:36, 9 February 2006 (PST)

Response: Creature Articles

I moved them because nearly every page that had a link to a creature (IE. the Troll article) treated them as if they were proper nouns, and since they are the name of a creature (not much different from the name of a skill) I figured you'd feel that they'd be better capitolized. It was a discussion I had, as well, with a few others. Originally, I told the creator of those articles to make them improper. -Andy talk 15:48, 8 April 2006 (PDT)

Ranger Spell Articles

Yeah, I was going to go back through and edit them. But I wanted to get the basics down for the general look of them so they would all be concise and consistent with each other. -Adam

Weight Modifiers

Hey. I was going to put up a working list/table of the weight modifiers for all the different metals and the base weight of each ASG of armor if they were to be using them. But I can't think of an appropriate article title to use and what category it should go in? Any suggestions? DRIZZT-12 18:14, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

Okay. I'll just do that then. Although I'm going to wait for GM Stealth to post on the forums about whether or not he was able to get an "official" list of their weight modifiers and if he can release the information. DRIZZT-12 21:47, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

Greetings!

Hey, I'll extend to you the same invitation we make all the other people that contribute quite a bit: if you want you can come join most of the major contributors (Andy, Ulthripe, April, and I) in the IRC chat: irc.resequenced.net::6667, channel #gemstone which can be accessed here. We basically just talk about KP in there anymore. It's a good place to pop in and ask us for opinions or a couch to crash on or whatever. justin talk 20:17, 6 September 2006 (EDT)

Editing User Pages

Fair enough. I take it that 'rule' doesn't extend to the character page of a user? For instance, if I was familiar with the character Alisaire, could I add details regarding her to that page since it's awfully barren? Naturally assuming any content I did add followed the usual rules for articles (IUPOV, non-biased, factual observations, etc.).

On a lighter note, did we not miss KP's one-year anniversary? Would it be out of the question to gather in the IRC and celebrate with virtual cocktails? Not that we don't usually do that anyways, but it would be nice to get some of the sysops and contributors 'together' for such a momentous occasion. I'm big on that whole feeling of community, apparently. who is Ulthripe reads this 03:08, 4 December 2006 (EST)

Adding my own voice, actual character pages should fall in the same domain as any other article on the KP. Rail 10:36, 4 December 2006 (EST)

Bot Request

I figured I'd try to put this request in again, since you seem to have had something more important come up when I requested this through AIM. I would like to create a bot account for the purpose of automatically updating the spell pages with the new spellbox templates that Ulthripe and I have been working on. I believe that such a bot would simplify our work load in this endeavor, maintain the navigational template's identification identical to the article's identification of the spell (IE. utility, offensive, defensive, attack), and allow us to move on to something else much sooner. Additionally, I know there is interest in grepping the appropriate data from Play.net and applying it to our creature pages, ensuring the accuracy of our current creature pages and creating new blank-slate creature templates for the remaining creatures that we've yet to work on. No, this won't be a direct copying of Play.net's articles, but merely taking the basic creature statistics and applying the appropriate categories (IE, undead, level, location, etc.) to the pages, thus simplifiying the editor's job. Additionally, having a bot account would allow us to make quick changes (IE, moving a category, like I did with the stats category to the statistic category) much simpler rather than editing every page in the old category manually. I see a lot of potential, here, and if done with a seperate account, one could quickly identify any possible errors that might result by isolating and undoing the bot's edits. Additionally, I've set up my own Wiki so that I can test the bot on it prior to running it on KP to reduce such risk. -Andy talk 15:45, 4 December 2006 (EST)

I'd like to request a bot account as well, as I've got the entire bestiary from play.net pretty much ready to come up onto KP. So we'll have a full bestiary browsable by many different categories, and that will be just, let me say, awesome. Awhile back when we were discussing creatures and how to categorize them by level or something you mentioned that you were working on some zomgawesome way of grouping them by category. If that's true, would you mind sharing what that is? If it's a half-done idea or something, it'd be very nice to let me know now. Otherwise we have what should be a really nice way of grouping them by level range. I'll tell you about it if you want. If I don't get a response today on it, I'll probably have the bestiary all the way done this evening, and probably upload it tonight. So this is like a "please let me know one way or another in the next 12 hours plea." It doesn't even need to be a long and time-consuming response (since I know you're very busy etc). I'll be in the IRC or on AIM (aconitum99) if you wanna chat about it. justin talk 10:45, 6 December 2006 (EST)
Well, I've learned that even though I've become a SysOp, there are still a number of things that I cannot do. One of which is create accounts, which would've satisfied this particular request. So... we're still pending on this one. Thanks! -Andy talk 21:23, 6 December 2006 (EST)

Parser functions

When I was putting together some templates, I found that it's not currently possible to manipulate the variables that are passed around to templates etc. I was able to work around this and can solve my problem without it, but it lends confusion and a lack of concision, blah blah blah. If we could do math in our code, that would be great. I poked around and found ParserFunctions module! Any chance we could get that installed? Thanks, justin talk 18:53, 6 December 2006 (EST)
