Rillarie (prime)
|
Rillarie Telepsawe Ardenai is an Elven Ranger and follower of Imaera from Ta'Ardenai.
Little enough is known about her, and with good reason. Why would anyone care about another young adventurer in Landing? Those who have encountered her might know she is not shy about where she comes from and what one should enjoy from life, nor is she afraid of trying new things or taking a stab at being entertaining (news flash: not a bard). She recently became a member of Willow Hall and is a newly added recruit to the ranks of the Drakes Vanguard and Guardians of Sunfist.
Rill is never far from her hunter gelding outside of Landing, and more and more in Icemule; they often forage for random things in random places - sometimes well above her training to handle. Fortunately, she's made friends with several excellent folks in her early months, so no matter her misadventures, the young woman will be fine.
At a Glance
She is taller than average and appears to be in the bloom of youth. She has bright amber eyes and vibrant, golden brown skin, with waist-length, curly ginger hair most often worn in a ponytail or in a careless bun atop her head. She has a delicate face, a small button nose and tall, up-swept pointed ears.
Background
Born in 4946 and raised on the northern border of the Darkling Wood and the steppes beyond, Rillarie learned from an early age how to hunt, forage, work with horses, and contribute to ranch life as best her coltish little body would allow in that harsh and unforgiving land. Her parents (Nhaerik of Ardenai and Myrilyn of Nalfein) had settled the land nearly 200 years before her birth, with three fine sons (Tolorel, Jesirhin, and Rychai) born before her. All of her family were excellent teachers and even better protectors, so she grew up in contentment and freedom.
When the young Ranger-hopeful finally decided to leave home and try to make a name for herself in the fall of 5123, rites were given and she was gifted several tools to see her off; it was simultaneously a happy and sad departure, but Rillarie was determined to return home early and often. Her parents had known Lilanna Silverveil's centuries ago, though the families had drifted apart over time once the Sylvankind settled in Landing. A letter was addressed to these old friends and given to Rillarie as an introduction so she might at least know a few people in her new home. Unfortunately, Lilanna's parents had already passed through the Ebon Gate, the reason for their ceased contact nearly two centuries prior. Rill was heartbroken at the inability to meet the warm couple her family had described but pleased to find a smart, steadfast, and loyal friend in their daughter.
Not long after she started to settle in, there was a re-emergence of Naidem. It was here that Rill would meet several others she could trust and count amongst her 'new' family: Phomate Yaddox the human fisherman, cherished friend, and sometimes teacher; Aerocus Rayer, a rover of a Giantman with a love of River's Rest and yet another passionate angler; and of course fellow Ardenai Cylnthia Kythnis, her cure for homesickness and someone she considers a twin soul to her own.

Favored Gear
a silver-bound lacquered leather bow sling fringed in white viper feathers
A gracious gift from and made by the warrior Phomate, this beautiful sling is one of Rillarie's prize possessions. She gives the viper feathers a good going over at least once a day to make ensure none of the vanes and afterfeathers have been damaged, and they keep their pristine shape because of this care.
an ancient modwir tackle box with a rickety silver latch
While originally given to her by her father before departing for the Landing, this tackle box was his first. So of course, at the soonest available instance, Rillarie accidentally dropped it into a lake during travel to her new home. Fortunately, at the Ebon Gate festival of 5123, Rodnir was able to help her 'recover' the box and with luck, father will never know the difference.
a pale doeskin vasculum watercolored with a myriad of delicate wildflowers
Albeit a bit dirt-stained from accident more than carelessness, this vasculum shows a few signs of wear and tear but is otherwise quite lovely. A gift from her Nalfein mother upon reaching a decision to journey from home and make her own way in the world, the vasculum holds botanical treasures of her travels.
