Fishmarket Pier
Fishmarket Pier is a shop in South Haven, around Solhaven, that sells groceries and/or cooking supplies and specializes in raw fish and shellfish. It is an open air fish market that was renovated to include freshly-caught raw fish and shellfish vendors in late 2023. It is located just west of South Market Northwest. Wil's Fish Shop is located on the pier itself, and the Lobstereum and its gift shop are just off of it.

Perched at the end of the pier that transitions between rough planks and cobblestones, a large wooden table supports several rhimar-lined trays of ice that are filled with the daily catch. A heavy canvas and wrought iron umbrella shields the offerings from the view of nearby gulls; the greedy beasties scream as they prance upon pylons on the opposite side of the pier.

Looped through drilled holes in pylons, a thick rope creates a simple barrier between the edges of the pier and a fall to the bay waters beyond. Roughened planks stretch across the pier, their faded paint curled and illegible due to exposure to the salty air. Built along the pier at the very edge of a southern quay, a small wooden shack has a wide-open door that emits the strong odors of fried foods.

The stench of fresh fish fills the air of the quay, which overlooks the jagged breakwater known as The Fang, its shape sullen and gnarled against the graceful expanse of the bay and its fathomless waters. A vendor's stand, comprised of barrels and casks filled with shellfish packed in ice, is crammed into a small space between two other hawkers. Sunlight sparkles from the ice crystals in the barrels, lending motes of brightness to the otherwise dull and weathered appearance of the quay.
