Stationery signets or stationery signet rings are scripted rings that are capable of imprinting a signet onto stationery paper with prepared wax. They are part of the stationery system, which includes a variety of interconnected items. Stationery signets and wax were first introduced by GM Itzel via the merchant Periope. Customizations and unlocks have been sought after by many adventurers, as have special signet kits that contain a fully customized allotment of supplies. Stationery signets and waxes can be stored inside of a stationery box.

Stationery signets and wax should not be confused with mail signets and wax, which utilize the mail system.

It is possible to unlock a stationery signet to also be compatible with the mail system via an automated certificate. This certificate was first sold in 2022 at Agora Promenade's Let's Make a Seal shop, as part of the Trials of Lumnis event. This unlock certificate is still available at the shop, which is now permanently open with the full release of the Isle of Ornath and its Sleeping Drake Harbor. After applying this certificate, FLIP will freely convert the stationery signet into a mail signet and back again.

Signet

Stationery signets utilize stationery wax to create a sealed imprint on stationery paper. They only work with stationery wax and stationery paper, which are part of the stationery system. They have a total of three tiers associated with them. Using LOOK will reveal the signet's material and its design:

The ring is made of silver and has a design of a wolf's head engraved into its face.
Using PUSH with prepared stationery that has melted stationery wax already on it will form an imprint of that design in a wax seal on the paper.

Tier 1

Analyze

You analyze the silver signet ring and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:
Your ring can be altered but it must remain a signet ring or signet band.
The seal design on your ring can be altered freely.
Both long descriptions and shows are fine.
This ring is an off the shelf model (tier 0 of 2 tiers or OTS). You are able to use the following verbs on it: WEAR, REMOVE, LOOK and PUSH.

You get no sense of whether or not the ring may be further lightened.

Usage

Verb Materials First Third
PUSH Held, paper, no wax To make an impression with your signet, you'll need to apply fresh wax to the parchment. N/A

DISMISS You give a quick and dismissive wave of your hand, letting the weight of your ring add a touch of the dramatic to the gesture. XXX's signet glints metallically as she dismissively waves her hand.

Tier 3

You analyze the pewter signet ring and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:

SPIN You twist your signet around your finger, idly grasping your knuckle. XXX twists her ring around her finger, idly grasping her knuckle.

Combined Signet

Stationery signets can both be unlocked to allow them to also work with the mail system and its related items. This unlock is available for both types of signets via two different certificates sold at Let's Make a Seal. FLIP changes which system the signet is currently set to work with between the stationery system and the mail system. This option is added onto the standard analyze of both versions of the signet. The signet's imprint design remains the same for both signet scripts.

Analyze

Wax

Stationery wax is used to seal stationery paper and serve as the basis for an embossed signet. It only works with stationery paper and stationery signets. Wax must be softened first by warming it via RUB before it is applied to stationery paper via PUSH. After applied the paper, it can be sealed with a signet.

Stationery wax has a limited number of uses. It can be made permanent.

Analyze

You analyze your stick of wax and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:
Your wax can be altered, but must remain 15/15/15.
The color must be in the first part.
The format is "a <color>,stick of,wax".
The wax may not have a long description or show.
There are 10 uses remaining in your stick of wax. A talented merchant can refill your wax.

You get no sense of whether or not the wax may be further lightened.

Usage

Verb Materials First Third
PUSH With paper in hand
Wax unwarmed
Your wax isn't melted enough. Maybe you ought to RUB it to warm it? N/A
Wax warmed Pressing your wax to your parchment, you leave a blister of pure white wax, ripe for sealing. Pressing her wax to her parchment, XXX leaves a blister of pure white wax, ripe for sealing.
