Haste reduces nearly all roundtimes except for the offensive combat actions, and selected utility actions, that are affected by the Celerity spell. Example areas of roundtime reduction are the imposed roundtime from offensive creature and combat maneuvers carried out against the caster, or the movement roundtime incurred when traversing certain obstacles. Training in additional ranks of the Major Elemental spell circle (benefit capped at level) and Elemental Lore, Air increase the roundtime reduction, as given by the following formula:
The maximum possible roundtime reduction that can be attained with this spell is a 60% reduction of the original roundtime. With this maximum reduction, the end result would be 40% of the original roundtime (e.g. a 10-second roundtime would be reduced to 4 seconds, and a 20-second roundtime would be reduced to 8 seconds.) This maximum benefit is attained when MjE ranks + EL:Air ranks = 200.
The base roundtime reduction for this spell is 20%. Thus, without any training in Elemental Lore, Air and the minimum 35 ranks in Major Elemental spell circle, the caster will see roundtimes reduced by 27%, and will therefore see 73% of the original roundtime (10 seconds would be reduced to 7.3, and 20 seconds would be reduced to 14.6 -- the formula rounds down, resulting in roundtimes of 7 seconds and 14 seconds, respectively.)
Lore Benefits
Training in Elemental Lore, Air reduces roundtimes by 1% for every five ranks, limited by the maximum total reduction of 60%.
Training in the Major Elemental spell circle also reduces roundtimes by 1% for every five ranks, limited by the maximum total reduction of 60%. This benefit is capped at level (so it is not possible to gain extra benefit by overtraining Major Elemental.)
