The Dev Digest: Recent Refinements & "S'plodey" Fixes

We’ve been moving fast lately, pushing out a steady stream of fixes and tweaks to keep things running smoothly. While we usually shout these out in real-time over on Discord, we wanted to take a moment to round everything up into one official digest for those who prefer the long-form version.

From quality-of-life buffs to fixing "unrescueable" tents, here is a look at what’s been updated in the lands recently.

Mechanics & Quality of Life

The Weight Limit Buff: Good news for the hoarders!  You can now pick up items that weigh more than your bodyweight (provided they don't exceed your total max carrying capacity).

Pup Tent Rescue: Fixed a particularly lonely bug where deceased players would get trapped inside their tents. You will now be properly "spat out" so friends can find you. Happy dying!

Enhancive Overlap: We squashed a longstanding bug where standard enhancive effects (like those from PSM abilities) would cause other related effects to expire early.

Bounties & Caps: Both Skinning Bounties and Animalistic Totems now ignore treasure cap modifications when calculating rewards or charges. If you earned it, you keep it.

Bind & Immobility: These effects no longer stack duration; they now refresh instead. We also ensured a weak success won't overwrite a stronger, longer-lasting bind.

Magic & Spells

Call Lightning (125): * The "S'plodey" Rules: To trigger an explosion, the target must be on the ground, held, or alongside you. No more blowing up boxes inside disks or containers on your person.

Inventory Safety: If a box explodes while you're holding it, your inventory will no longer break—the contents will simply spill out at your feet.

Silver to Slabs: All boxes (including those in your hands) will now correctly convert silver and gold ingots into slabs.

Phase (704): Now works better with the AtFeet slot and has an increased weight maximum specifically when used on treasure chests.

Animate Dead (730): We’ve adjusted gem values for enhancing animates. Note: the gem is now consumed in the process, so no more hollow gems left behind.

Spell Thieve & Cleave: These CMANs will no longer accidentally target your own debuff spells.

Mage Armor (520): The Water element benefit now also helps block dispels from non-spell sources.

Combat & Society Updates

Minotaur Champions: The hoof-stomp/horn-charge maneuver has been converted to a stagger. Roundtime no longer stacks (max 20s) and the crits are now in line with other similar maneuvers.

Sunfist Titles: Corrected "Journey of Sunfist" to Journeyman (for males) and added the Journeywoman title for females. We also fixed some wonky rank checks on other society titles.

Tethered Strike: This property now prevents halfling cannibals from darting into the shadows when you attack.

Somnis Weapons: Greater Somnis weapons should be a little less "sleepy" when swung against creatures, and caffeine levels have been buffed.

Items, Loot & Tidbits

Gold Ingots: These now respond properly to the LOOT verb. If you LOOK at them, you’ll see helpful info on their value and where to sell them.

Pocketed Armor: Have a weird piece of gear like a pocketed DB cloak? You can now ANALYZE it to see those pockets.

Fash'lo'nae's Tutelage: Fixed a bug where the spell wouldn't activate if you hadn't donated to the Temple of Lumnis. It also now activates immediately upon REDEEMing a Grandfather’s Token if your Gift of Lumnis is already spent.

FWI Lantern: Now properly granting those 25k profession points again.

Ornath the Albatross: If you’re hunting for this bird, stop looking at the docks! It’s moved over to Sleeping Drake Harbor.
