Summary

Krolvin operating in pairs abduct Kisun, Carakkatus, Amerek, and Opalina from within the Landing gates over the course of four nights, searching them for something unknown--and failing to find it--before either killing them or attempting to. The town's defenders successfully intervene against three of the kidnappings, killing most of the krolvin in the process, but are left piecing together a puzzle from the fine details.

As Mayor Thadston asks for information, adventurers relay that they've identified no discernible patterns among the people targeted, the time of day, nor the places--other than being within the Landing. Key points noted are the krolvin acting in stealth pairs, one using a small marble as a smoke bomb to escape, the object they're searching for being small enough to fit within a dark elf's boots, and the recent appearance of blood writing on a wall near the Raging Thrak Inn that, according to Markx and Magister Raelee, says "blue suffers" in the krolvin language.

Without much else to go on, Thadston says that he'll be instating Thrayzar as the new Steward of the Guard soon, replacing Dunigan, and ask him to step up patrols. Falvicar, having collected weapons from the most recent krolvin which he slew, turns them over to Councilor Leafiara, who in turn gives them to Thadston with a suggestion that Thrayzar might be able to use their scent to catch a trail. Thadston agrees to try and tells all gathered to let him know about further incidents and try to take a krolvin alive to torture for information.

A Calm Night Interrupted

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Kisun disk, the Kultir disk, some acantha leaf, the Lankas disk, a filled piece of bread, a large acorn, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, the Kellafar disk, a large acorn, a large acorn, a navy blue knapsack, a rose-marrow potion, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a rose-marrow potion, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

The sky begins to fill with huge clouds, dark and grey on the bottom, pale and white atop, their puffy crowns ascending toward the heavens.

[General] Leafiara muses, "Hmm, clouds coming in in the Landing."

Tayler says, "Beats snow I suppose."

Leafiara curiously asks, "How's everyone this cloudy evening?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Itchin for a fight."

Tayler says, "Pretty good."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara asks, "Still on those arena highs?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Markx asks, "Can't complain. You?"

Speaking to Markx, Leafiara professes, "Not too bad so far."

Speaking darkly to Leafiara, Althaz says, "More like the arena lows."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Are you kidding, I used the arena fights to let off steam."

Speaking darkly to Leafiara, Althaz says, "I'm tired after all that fighting."

Althaz darkly says, "But so worth it."

Leafiara wistfully says, "Miss it already."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Those were just to keep me limber for Amo... eerr for what happens next."

Leafiara pragmatically considers, "Considering how empty the square looks, now actually would be a pretty good time for enemies to attack. From their perspective, anyway."

Speaking to Kisun, Chandrellia says, "Careful where you lean on that tree, if you lean in Stormy's spot she'll beat you with a branch."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Kisun says, "She won't mind. I just keeps it warm."

Lightning streaks down from the sky, crackling and charging the air.

Leafiara curiously observes, "Hm, lightning."

A lithe dark cloaked figure slips out of an alleyway near Tykel's shop, then dips into another allleyway nearby.

Leafiara says, "Hm."

Leafiara muses, "Well."

Leafiara dubiously asks, "Join up?"

Kisun asks, "Anyone got a hound to sniff em out?"

Speaking to Kisun, Leafiara admits, "I haven't seen Winston in far too long."

Leafiara says, "Alleyways, hm.."

[Wehnimer's, A Very Dark Alley]

Cloaked in pervasive shades of black and grey, nebulous shadows conceal the features of this covert back street. Any hint of sunlight is mercilessly smothered by the close-set buildings to either side. Underfoot, the worn cobblestones remain perpetually slick as moisture seeps from the walls, coalescing into thin rivulets of slimy water that feed both moss and algae. A single sputtering torch looks oddly out of place where its wan illumination dances on the stark brickwork at the alley's dead end.

Senah asks, "Where are we going?"

Leafiara tentatively inquires, "Hello out there?"

[Stone Baths, Rooftop Garden]

Brass handrails rise up along the edges of the bathhouse's stone rooftop, enclosing a wide flat surface that is mostly dominated by vivid flowerbeds, brightened by the moon's silvery rays. The view from the garden is expansive, revealing the shadowy streets of Wehnimer's Landing and the dark forests beyond the town. You also see a wooden hatch.

Leafiara admits, "Didn't expect this to be where that led."

Leafiara admits, "But we've still not found our mystery figure."

[Town Square, Northwest]

This corner of the square is lively and hectic even at night. A number of representatives of the Landing's population, including several elven loggers and a party of rough-looking dwarves, loiter around the door of the Raging Thrak Inn, where the rowdy cheers of patrons and voices raised in songs of many sorts, from snatches of heroic ballads to blushingly bawdy tunes, beckon you to enter. You also see some smeared blood on a nearby wall that reads, "Lalk Morgil", a polished granite statue and the Raging Thrak Inn.

[Town Square, Northeast]

The entrance to Tykel's Arms, its heavy door bounded by iron-barred windows, dominates this corner of the square. All manner of citizens pass by, moving among the solid, multistoried wooden buildings that surround the bazaar. Just to the southwest can be seen the tree-shaded heart of the square, where citizens and adventurers gather for socializing, healing and rest. You also see a narrow alleyway.

Leafiara acknowledges, "Maybe they just lost us already."

Chandrellia asks, "Why is it, everyone thinks they can just mark up our building with petty sayings and expect us to be ok with it?"

Leafiara admits, "Could be virtually anywhere by now, to be honest."

Stormyrain tilts her hot toddy side to side, making the light play off it.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Kayse says, "You are going to drink us out of those."

Leafiara optimistically says, "Maybe it was just someone passing with a hood on because of the weather."

Speaking to Kayse, Stormyrain says, "Yes."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Chandrellia says, "I do hope you arrest these miscreants, when we catch them, for smearing unwanted bodily fluids on our buildings."

Suddenly, two lithe cloaked figures rush in and throw a net over Kisun and drag him off! [Note: Kenstrom accidentally showed it as "a net over you and drag you off" to the entire room rather than just Kisun, hence some confusion in the following dialogue.]

Tayler says, "Come now, I'm sure SOMEBODY wants that blood back."

Speaking slowly to Chandrellia, Stormyrain says, "We don't know who, or why, it was done yet. I--"

Kiyna exclaims, "Wh-whoa!"

Chandrellia asks, "Ok who just got dragged off?"

Chandrellia says, "Recite roll call."

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

Blades says, "I still got my booze, we good."

Leafiara admits, "Hard to see in the dark..."

Leafiara says, "We'd better keep track of who's here currently."

Pukk exclaims, "Bye Kisun!"

Thrassus says, "I'm starting to get tired of those sorts of folk."

Althaz darkly says, "Now i don't like being pulled."

Pukk says, "I think Kisun just eloped."

[General] Leafiara tentatively asks, "Any idea where you are?"

[General] Thrassus asks, "Where in the tunnels did the Rooks take you?"

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "It's not their style to kidnap a citizen."

[General] Kisun thinks, "I'm being mugged currently."

[General] Pukk exclaims, "The Tooks didn't take him!"

[General] Pukk exclaims, "And the Rooks either!"

Kayse repeats, "He's being mugged?"

Althaz darkly asks, "Can anyone locate kisun?"

[General] Leafiara slowly asks, "Okay, but do you have any idea where you are?"

[General] Thrassus thinks, "Nonsense, it is definitely something they would do."

[General] Tayler asks, "Any distinguishing features of where you are?"

Kayse whispers something to Leafiara.

[General] Kisun thinks, "They hit me over the head and I can't move, two lithe dark cloaked krolvin. Going through my bags."

[General] Tayler asks, "Krols?"

[General] Pukk thinks, "Yep, not Rooks."

[General] Leafiara surprisedly thinks, "Huh, krolvin usually aren't that sneaky, but alright."

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Thrassus perhaps you need another drink, this is definitely something Amos would do and has done, oh wait, maybe it's for his protection like before."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "We're scouring town, in any case."

[General] Kisun thinks, "They're after something, searching for something."

[General] Thrassus asks, "What?"

[General] Kisun thinks, "They just said, 'I do not see it.'."

Pukk yells, "I dare you to kidnap Leafiara like that!"

Pukk yells, "I double dog dare you!"

Leafiara says, "Hm."

Chandrellia yells, "Or Pukk, you'll be sending him back in 5 minutes after kidnapping him!"

Arv yells, "I fried a hundred of your brothers this morning, show yourselves!"

Leafiara says, "There are only so many places..."

Arv says, "Familiar can't find 'im."

Leafiara says, "Indeed..."

[General] Kisun thinks, "I'm outside the walls of town."

Althaz darkly says, "Well."

[General] Chandrellia asks, "Stormy, any news on your end?"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Okay, we're looking for you."

[General] Pukk asks, "Can you tell us where they touched you?"

[General] Arianiss thinks, "Maybe down by the black sands? That's where the krolvin were last time during the whole manticore business..."

[General] Tayler asks, "Are you in the forest? Can you hear running water? The beach?"

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "We are on the Black sands, nothing yet."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Currently searching the forest."

[Let's step back in time a moment and look at it from another set of eyes. The "you" in this section is Kisun.]

Suddenly, two lithe cloaked figures rush in and throw a net over you and drag you off!

[Wehnimer's Exterior]

Tall oaks and modwir pines have grown up along the outer edge of the western palisade surrounding Wehnimer's Landing. To the north you hear the sound of horses stamping impatiently against the wooden walls of their stables as they await their turn in the Jousting Arena. The wind whispers softly through the trees, bringing you a sense of peace as you wander. A shady path leads off to the southwest, sheltered by a thick stand of modwirs. You say, "What the heck.."

You ask, "Where are you taking me?"

You see a fairly typical dark cloaked krolvin.

It appears to be in good shape.

It has a slender blue steel cutlass and a marred blue steel buckler.

The krolvin push you around, searching through your belongings.

You exclaim, "Hey!"

You fasten the clasp on your vruul skin cloak, pulling it closed.

You close a black Bresnahanini rolton wool pack spun with sharp-pointed argent glyphs.

You tie your drawstring gem pouch shut tightly.

You close a bronze-toned mithril mesh bag.

You move into a defensive stance, ready to fend off an attack.

Eyeing a lithe dark cloaked krolvin up and down, you slowly and quietly attempt to backpedal away from it.

You rub a heavy quartz orb in your hand.

A sudden clarity of thought comes over you, and you realize that you now understand arcane mysteries that were previously incomprehensible.

The quartz orb suddenly disintegrates!

Speaking to a lithe dark cloaked krolvin, you ask, "What do you want from me?"

A krolvin says, "Shush."

You grit your teeth.

A krolvin slams the bottom of a sword on your head!

You fall over. Clumsy oaf!

(tries to get up)

You cannot do that.

One of the krolvin begins to rummage through your mesh bag.

The krolvin grumble and talk amongst themselves. One turns to the other, "I do not see it."

You ask, "Why?"

You ask, "What are you after?"

You ask, "I don't have anything. What are you looking for? Maybe I can help you find it?"

One of the krolvin rummages around in your backpack.

Speaking to a lithe dark cloaked krolvin, you exclaim, "Hey stop!"

You ask, "What are you after?"

The krolvin grumble.

One krolvin says, "It is not on him. Others will find us soon. We must go."

The first krolvin barks back, "We check him more. Then end him."

A krolvin says, "They are onto us."""

Speaking in Krolvin, Kayse barks something you don't understand.

Arv says, "Fast little buggers."

Kiyna exclaims, "Yeah, you better run!"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "We've found him on the way to the wedding glade, but the krolvin got away."

Speaking concernedly to Kisun, Leafiara asks, "You alright there?"

Bernadette softly asks, "Aer ye ok?"

Kisun says, "Aye, I'm good."

Leafiara says, "Well, that's good..."

Pukk yells, "I dare you to try that again with Chandrellia!"

Speaking quietly to herself, Kayse says, "That is not a fun language to speak."

Leafiara curiously asks, "What was that all about?"

Arv says, "Hopefully they didn't make off with anything important."

Bernadette softly asks, "Dems say annatin to ye?"

Kayse asks, "Did they take anything from you?"

Kisun says, "They were searching me for something."

Kisun says, "Said 'it's not here." and checked my other bags."

Althaz darkly says, "Cowards."

Leafiara acknowledges, "Well, that could... mean literally anything."

Speaking to Kisun, Stormyrain asks, "Are you ok?"

Kisun says, "Then said 'we'll search one more bag, then end em'."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Chandrellia says, "I checked him over, he had a scratch but it's healed now."

Pukk says, "That doesn't sound good."

Althaz darkly says, "Wonder how far they could have gotten."

Kisun says, "And then you all showed up, and they ran off."

Leafiara says, "Odd, though... usualy krolvin come in much bigger groups than two."

Pukk says, "They are skinny krolvin though.."

Kiyna asks, "...Could have been a diversion?"

Kisun says, "When I asked em what they were after, they told me to shut it, and hit me."

Chandrellia says, "Or just a scouting party."

Speaking to Kisun, Pukk says, "You should bark at them first."

Goldstr asks, "Was Krolvin?"

Leafiara asks, "Did I hear the Magister correctly earlier that the translation of the blood writing is 'blue suffer'?"

Blades says, "She has a problem."

Stormyrain says, "Yes, that was actually what Markx translated it to."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Berost says, "Best she could figure."

Stormyrain says, "And Raelee affirmed the translation."

Leafiara asks, "And that was in krolvin or... what language?"

Stormyrain says, "Krolvin."

Markx says, "Krolvin."

Thrassus asks, "Any idea whose blood it was written in?"

Speaking to Thrassus, Chandrellia says, "Sadly not Amos's."

Thrassus says, "Or what."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk says, "The night is still young."

Speaking to Thrassus, Stormyrain says, "No but Missoni took some for studying."

Speaking to Pukk, Chandrellia says, "Yes, hope still lingers."

Thrassus says, "Yes, let's keep on yammering about killing other town officials, very statesperson-like."

Blades says, "Perhaps just need to sink more Krol ships and they'll learn."

Leafiara considers, "Suppose the field of writers would be limited to those who know at least a bit of krolvin, but that's not narrowing down much."

Speaking darkly to Blades, Althaz says, "Count me in."

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain responds, "You're not wrong."

Blades says, "They are pathetic at piracy."

Thrassus says, "I would say that we pay another visit to Glaoveln and raze it again."

Chandrellia says, "Where did they come from."

Kisun says, "They kept talkin to each other, but I couldn't understand em."

Speaking to Thrassus, Stormyrain says, "That was quite the adventure."

Speaking to Blades, Tayler says, "The thousands they enslave yearly may disagree with that sentiment."

Leafiara indifferently says, "Eh, at least I got to see Praxopius die, so there was that."

Speaking to Kisun, Stormyrain says, "Do you remember anything that they said? Kayse may be able to translate it."

Althaz darkly says, "I'm going to scout be back shortly."

Kayse says, "Can give it a try."

Blades says, "Then maybe I need to switch to extortion instead of sinking them."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Kisun says, "No, they were good about keepin it quiet."

Kisun says, "Was just a grumble at the most."

(OOC) Chandrellia's player whispers to the group, "Lmao we got Krolvin kidnapping and beating up citizens and here Stormy is just sipping in her toddy..."

Kayse indifferently says, "I mean, I could not help too."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Chandrellia says, "She has been studying with the libraians and scroll makers on learning new languages."

Speaking to Kayse, Stormyrain asks, "I'm just wondering how in the world the krolvin called all the animals in the forest, it's fascinating. I wonder if it's because it's more of an animalistic language?"

[General] Carakkatus asks, "Noone has any then?"

Speaking in Krolvin, Kayse reasonably shouts something you don't understand.

Speaking strainedly to Stormyrain, Kayse says, "It's very....throaty and barky. Not as fun as Sylvan."

Monthas asks, "Did they take anything?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Goldstr says, "Aye, nae seems a Krol way."

Speaking to Kayse, Stormyrain says, "Good thing you have a hot toddy you can drink any time."

Stormyrain says, "Great for the throat."

Speaking flatly to Stormyrain, Kayse says, "Our supply seems to be dwindling for some reason."

Ycelacie nasally says, "I'll take a drink I suppose."

Blades says, "Unknowable."

Kisun says, "They took nothing, that I can tell."

Another Target

Two lithe figures can be seen dragging off Carakkatus through town.

Kisun says, "I did go try to help someone in the Rest earlier, and I killed a significant amount of slavers while I was waiting."

Speaking to Monthas, Stormyrain says, "Not necessarily. I imagine krolvin are like most races, and not all factions get along."

Monthas says, "Ohh no."

Earthdiver says, "There goes another one."

Leafiara says, "Off to it."

Kayse whispers something to Drektor.

[General] Leafiara asks, "Anyone have eyes on Carakkatus?"

Flower beds of white roses and bright periwinkles embrace the leafy ferns, cattails, and lily pads of the small, shallow pond at its focus where fan-tailed redfish swim slowly beneath its ripples. A white stone path winds between the gate and the rolaren portcullis of the north wall. Subtle movements betray the watchful eyes atop the battlements. You also see a gooey freshly baked brownie, a smooth stele, a golden-armored titan sentry, a smooth white stone bench and a small white rock with some stuff on it.

One of the krolvin goes through your cloak and takes two emeralds and a diamond.

A krolvin barks, "Now, you know what comes next...since they did it to us last night."

Leafiara says, "Before today, anyway."

Falvicar whispers something to Pukk.

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk asks, "No but there was a sighting though right?"

Shihain says, "Yes."

Vaemyr says, "They can still talk that way though, and no need to really torture, there's other ways of making them either talk or interogate that are much more effective."

Pukk whispers something to Falvicar.

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara says, "Well, Ycelacie claimed there was, but nobody found her or saw anything."

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie says, "I heard it was a Dark Elf that was kidnapped."

Vaemyr says, "But having no limbs, is effective to prevent them from escaping."

Pukk says, "OH."

Speaking to Yardie, Leafiara says, "Amerek two days ago, yes."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Opalina asks, "When your folks were napped yesterday were they just off from sailing?"

Leafiara looks over at Opalina and shakes her head.

Speaking to Opalina, Leafiara says, "No, we haven't been able to find any patterns related to people hunting krolvin out on the sea or not."

Shihain says, "It always seems to be elves that get kidnapped."

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie asks, "Most concerning. Anyone know if the person was Faendryl or Dhe'nar?"

Leafiara says, "An erithian and giant were taken the first night."

Kisun says, "Sailing would be an obvious correlation, but, it just doesn't fit anywhere."

Opalina quietly says, "Okay wasn't sure because I just came from sailing thought maybe I picked up something."

Shihain says, "Oh."

Kiyna says, "The second one was a giantman. Yes, and first was an erithian."

Shihain says, "I didnt know about the giant man being kidnapped."

Speaking to Yardie, Leafiara admits, "Hmm, not sure. You'd have to ask Amerek."

Shihain asks, "How did they manage a giantman napping?"

Speaking to Shihain, Kisun says, "Heard that erithi was one handsome man."

Speaking to Yardie, Vaemyr says, "Been various races."

[General] Gutstorm thinks, "Pukk, ye need to dresh up like a elf and act like a dampshel in da dresh and maybe da Krollinsh will grab ye next."

Speaking to Shihain, Pukk says, "They must have been strong."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Yardie says, "Good to know. Also, I need to interview you."

Shihain says, "They better not come after me."

Shihain exclaims, "Ill give em the ole one two!"

Vaemyr says, "Right now the people being grabbed seem completely random."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "They're not even targeting helpless-looking people, though. They've been going after a few seasoned adventurers along with one novice."

Pukk says, "It's a trap. He will lure you out and the kobolds will trip you and mug you blind."

Mayor Thadston just arrived.

[General] Linmur sadly thinks, "I have yet to see any."

Thadston says, "You're all making quite the noise."

Speaking to Thadston, Leafiara says, "I take it you're hearing the thoughts."

Kisun asks, "Maybe, they's after pie?"

Speaking to Thadston, Pukk says, "That is normal for me."

Thadston nods.

Speaking to Thadston, Yardie asks, "Thadston Andrews? At this hour?"

[General] Gidion asks, "My hapless disguise...!?"

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "Well you got Krolvin kidnappers running around your town."

Thadston says, "Let's stand in our usual spot. The cobblestones are worn perfectly so I know where I stand."

Mayor Thadston just went east.

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a Wehnimer's runner, a shaggy mutt and a large purple wooden barrel.

The voice of Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hey beat it."

Leafiara yells, "Impromptu meeting outside Moot Hall!"

Falvicar quietly says, "The two that got Opalina aren't roaming around anymore."

Pukk yells, "We went east!"

Thadston nods at Falvicar.

Vaemyr says, "Little less noisy here."

Thadston says, "Good, I suppose. No one's going to lose sleep over dead krol."

Thadston says, "They just can't be tortured."

Kisun says, "Never did before."

Shihain says, "Well."

Leafiara says, "They've been moving in pairs, quite unusual for krolvin. And two nights ago they had some sort of magical escape orb."

Leafiara says, "Three nights ago, rather."

Thadston asks, "Escape orb?"

Falvicar quietly says, "For what it's worth, I melted one of the heads off."

Shihain says, "ARE YOU A KIDNBAPPER."

Speaking to Thadston, Leafiara says, "A... marble of some magical power that he used to get away."

Shihain says, "NAPPER."

Kiyna removes a small shadowy black crystal sphere from in her burgundy cloak.

Earthdiver says, "Made a cloud of dust."

Thadston says, "Hmm."

Thadston says, "So better equipped than just usual raiders."

Shihain says, "Guess not."

Speaking to Thadston, Yardie says, "Anyone know any information on the kidnapped? The Dark Elf? These seem random....but it's rarely just random."

Thadston asks, "Any patterns of those kidnapped so far?"

Leafiara says, "Then there's the writing some people noticed outside the Raging Thrak Inn. It's been translated to "blue suffer" written in krolvin."

Speaking to a fluffy white cat, Kisun asks, "You want some pie?"

Speaking to Thadston, Leafiara acknowledges, "No patterns we've been able to find."

Thadston nods at Leafiara.

Shihain asks, "Blue suffers?"

Thadston asks, "Saw that. So they bringing suffering?"

Leafiara says, "Race, gender... adventurers or not... it all varies."

Shihain says, "We need to find out what that means."

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "Other than not acting like usual raiders, the people they've nabbed seem from all kinds and types."

Falvicar quietly says, "They used cutlass and buckers... I gave Leafiara their wares."

Leafiara says, "Ah, yes, Falvicar did collect some for investigation."

Leafiara offers Thadston a marred blue steel buckler.

Shihain says, "What does blue suffers mean."

Pukk says, "Yes, they started looking in small containers at first."

Yardie says, "Krolvin do have bluish skin...some do."

Thadston says, "So no rhyme or reason yet to who."

Thadston accepts Leafiara's marred blue steel buckler.

Speaking to Shihain, Leafiara admits, "No idea."

Leafiara offers Thadston a slender blue steel cutlass.

Speaking to Shihain, Kisun asks, "Krolvins is blue-ish?"

Kisun asks, "Maybe they are looking for something that.. Will, help.. them?"

Thadston says, "Hmm."

Grius asks, "What did they do after searching the boots?"

Leafiara says, "Targets haven't even necessarily been from the Landing. Opalina here is a councilor from Icemule, but merely being in the Landing was enough to make her a target."

Kiyna asks, "Is there some... clan, or tribe of Krol associated with blue?"

Thadston asks, "Just doesn't seem smart. Two scouts, randomly searching people?"

Shihain says, "You know this is my first investigation with my town folk."

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "That's why it feels off somehow."

Leafiara agrees, "It's extremely unusual and unlinke them."

[Drakes] Vigdendron thinks, "Rar."

Earthdiver says, "My guess is there was a bounty on an item...or they were under orders."

Opalina quietly says, "Well nice thing is they didn't Hurt me."

Vaemyr says, "They are desperate."

Earthdiver says, "They seem to have little to no idea who they are looking for."

Shihain says, "Glad they didnt."

Speaking to Thadston, Yardie says, "I doubt it is random."

Opalina quietly says, "Other than to tie me up so they could search for something."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Falvicar says, "We were sailing and we were maybe in town for a few minutes. She went to the Center for heals then was kidnapped there."

Grius says, "They wanted that dented anklet."

Thadston says, "I'll have our new Steward of the Guard up the patrols once I officialy instate him this week."

Grius says, "You know the one."

Speaking to Yardie, Leafiara says, "Everyone's looked for patterns or motives, but none found yet. Certainly they have a motive, at least, regardless of whether their targets are truly random."

Shihain asks, "Well, krolvin are becoming a high suspect race, arent they?"

Vaemyr says, "I find it hard to believe Krol that are capable of grabbing someone out of Town Square are "sloppy"."

Thadston says, "I'm replacing Dunigan."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Yardie asks, "Poor security?"

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr asks, "Oh have you announced who will be taking his place?"

Grius asks, "Wait they grabbed someone in the Square!?"

Speaking to Thadston, Leafiara says, "Excellent, we'll look forward to the new Guard Captain."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Yardie asks, "Were they stealthy?"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Pukk asks, "Are you going to be the steward of the guard?"

Shihain says, "Yes, they grabbed opalina."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Yardie admits, "It's not really hard to kidnap someone."

Speaking drunkenly to Pukk, Gutstorm slurs, "Me only take depooty jobsh."

Speaking to Yardie, Vaemyr says, "Fairly hard to grab people and get away from a crowd of adventurers in the middle of town."

Leafiara says, "They've taken people from the square, from Helga's, and from out in front of Tykel's."

Leafiara says, "Even the areas targeted have no pattern."

Grius says, "Wow."

Speaking drunkenly to Thadston, Gutstorm slurs, "Me shentcha shum mail, yooz should go git it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "No pattern that we can see, yet."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kayse observes, "They are deperate, there will probably be no pattern."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Yardie says, "I beg to differ. Crowds. Heavy populated. If you do it quick enough, you can slip away into the noise and disappear."

Thadston says, "It's been several weeks now, and after a few reports of him being in good health, mind and body, I'm naming Thrayzar the new Steward of the Guard."

Shihain says, "I seen a pair of hooded figures today taking ANOTHER elf from the tavern of helgas."

Speaking to Yardie, Pukk says, "Just what a spy would know."

From nearby, you hear Raeggnar yell, "We gots a Krolvin in TSC!"

Kisun says, "I don't think there's a connection with race, or gender of who they take. Just opportunistic at who they think won't be missed."

Shihain says, "WHAT."

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Grius disk, the Lendrink disk, the Lankas disk, the Nitos disk, the Lunok disk, the Altie disk, the Crittomyo disk, the Mooglaz disk, a green-eyed white cat, the Glugor disk, the blue Malthorium disk, a fat black mouse, the earth brown Monthas disk, a dreary mountain spirit that is flying around, a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox, a buttered herb biscuit, a large acorn, a mistwood serving cart with some stuff on it, a large acorn, a large acorn, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Thadston peers quizzically at Raeggnar.

Shihain says, "Where."

Leafiara suspiciously asks, "...I don't see one?"

Suddenly, a pair of lawmen come striding in. They wrestle Raeggnar to the ground and drag him off, muttering something about the stocks!

Speaking in Krolvin, Terrunaid barks something you don't understand.

Pukk says, "And for once I'm not responsible for the prank."

Leafiara says, "Welp."

Lankas softly asks, "What?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Yardie says, "And that's how you can slip through the crowd."

Shihain says, "Oh no."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody rejoin Leafiara!"

Opalina quietly says, "Well the lawmen are still working."

Leafiara offhandedly says, "Right then, suppose we can carry on outside Moot Hall."

Speaking to Thadston, Yardie says, "That could be a problem, though."

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "But no, I don't really have a problem, I think Thrayzar will do a good job as long as he is himself."

Falvicar whispers to the group, "Yup.. to the stockade."

Leafiara considers, "Hmm, maybe Thrayzar can use the buckler and cutlass to catch a scent. I think he's done things like that before."

Speaking to Thadston, Yardie asks, "There are many half-krolvin. Are we just going to have everyone arrested?"

Speaking to Yardie, Leafiara says, "The half-krolvin wasn't arrested, it was the guy inciting violence against him."

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie says, "Good to know, but it is still a concern."

Vaemyr says, "I do still worry about Thrayzar STAYING himself though... but I guess time will tell on that one, I'm probably just paranoid."

Shihain says, "Well."

Speaking to Leafiara, Yardie says, "Don't want a panic."

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna asks, "Have we stopped to think that maybe this is what these random, desperate kidnappings are about? Creating tension, raising our hackles?"

Kisun says, "Well, I'd rather see someone in the stocks with a face full of fruit, than see someone screaming at someone for how they was born."

Opalina quietly says, "They didn't hurt me.. just searched me.. It was a little scary because I didn't know what was going on.. but now.. I wonder what they were looking for."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I understand what you're saying, considering that Thrayzar being well is, for some reason, the outcome Stone wanted. Still... can't be worse than a guard captain paid off by Amos."

Monthas says, "I do not understand how quickly he was arrested."

Speaking quietly to Falvicar, Opalina says, "Maybe Im just in shock."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Oh Dunigan needed to go."

Monthas says, "The guy sits in TSC whining about people not being wounded."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara agrees, "Literally always a consideration around here."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "You will find zero argument there from me."

Thadston motions for a guard, then tells him to go release Raeggnar.

Thadston nods.

Thadston says, "Now, where were we."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me right here."

Thadston says, "No rhyme, no reason, travels in pairs, might be looking for something small, and they're all dead now."

Leafiara says, "Thrayzar might be able to get a scent or trail on the krolvin using the buckler and cutlass Falvicar picked up for you."

Grius asks, "They're all dead now?"

Thadston nods at Leafiara.

Kisun says, "That's about where we was.."

Leafiara says, "Worth a shot, at least."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Opalina says, "Well the two that took me are dead."

Thadston says, "I'll have them sent off to him."

Linmur says, "I prowled about and didnt see anyone suspicious."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Any lonely femalesh needa travlin partner, lemme know."

Monthas asks, "How far did the guards take Raeggnar?"

Thadston says, "I had him removed from the stocks."

Speaking to Monthas, Kisun says, "Stocks is in front of the bank."

Thadston says, "He's safe and sound."

Speaking to Monthas, Kiyna says, "That's just what you're asking for when you mouth off like that in front of the mayor."

Speaking drunkenly to Kayse, Gutstorm slurs, "Me guarantee all da fellersh finkin da shame fing, me jush da firsh one to shay it."

Monthas says, "Thought he was being brought here."

Thadston says, "I'll make the Thrayzar announcement official tomorrow, and we'll step up patrols."

A number of deputies charge in, led by the night watchman.

With great ease, the night watchman grabs Ycelacie and shackles her wrists.

"Aha, Varlet! I have you!" the night watchman cries out.

The night watchman then drags her off.

Thadston says, "Thanks for collecting their weapons. I'll see if the orc can find anything from that."

Shihain says, "Ill be here."

Ycelacie just bit the dust!

Thadston says, "That wasn't me."

Thadston snickers.

Yardie says, "Can't escape the law."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wonner if da night watchmen kilt her."

Pukk says, "The night watchman takes these things seriously..."

Thadston says, "I've got some things to do. Let me know if there's any other encounters tonight."

Pukk says, "I think he needs a vacation."

Leafiara dutifully affirms, "Will do."

Thadston says, "If we see more, let's try to capture one."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Thadston, me shent ye mail."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Falvicar says, "I'll try to keep one alive, but I can't promiise ye."

Thadston says, "We have ways to make them talk that I will support."

Raeggnar deeply asks, "Who did th arrest?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Your plan is the right one next time, let's take off all limbs just to be sure."

Thadston nods at Gutstorm.

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "That is the plan, just gotta maybe remove some arms or something prevent them from using their orb."

Speaking drunkenly to Raeggnar, Gutstorm slurs, "Da new mayor."

Shihain says, "Lets go find lacie."

Leafiara admits, "Never saw a magic escape marble coming."

Kisun says, "Lacie."

Kisun says, "She in jail."

Thadston looks over at Leafiara and shakes his head.

Shihain says, "Oh."

Raeggnar deeply asks, "Who is da new mayer?"

Gutstorm points at Thadston.

Speaking to Thadston, Linmur asks, "So we should try to disable one and take them prisoner?"

Kiyna points at Thadston.

Thadston says, "Not their style. So they've got some help maybe."

Shihain asks, "Why are people being jailed?"

Leafiara nods in agreement at Thadston.

Speaking flatly to Leafiara, Kayse says, "If you take off limbs we have nothing to use to make them talk."

Thadston says, "Or someone smarter than "Ugh, sail, land, raid, eat."."

Thadston smirks.

Speaking to Shihain, Kiyna says, "Think that one was unrelated."

Kisun says, "Well, she's always assassinatin someone, probably for that."

Thadston says, "Hell that's half of the adventurers on the open seas..."

Thadston smirks.

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "That's kinda a scary thought."

Grius asks, "How fast are they?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Da count me out, me not dat shmart."

Kayse says, "Speaking to them won't be a problem if they are willing to talk."

Speaking to Kayse, Leafiara relents, "Okay, fine, how about we just take off arms?"

Speaking to Kayse, Yardie asks, "Torture, eh?"

Speaking to Yardie, Kayse asks, "Did you not hear what our Mayor said?"

Thadston waves.

Grius asks, "Do you have time to swing twice?"

Mayor Thadston just entered the Moot Hall.

Kisun says, "One arm one leg? If it's both sides, ya just runs in a circle."
