Description

You see Bumin the Churchwarden of Eonak.
He appears to be a Dwarf.
He is young and short. Wisps of brown hair hang loosely from his balding pate. Intense liquid gold eyes stare from his forge-reddened face.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a pristine golden tunic beneath a soot-stained brown leather forging apron. Sturdy iron shod boots and an unassuming gold anvil pin complete his attire.

Ceremony

Bumin strides purposefully forward, flanked by two attendants who place a bejeweled anvil before the assembled guests. Stepping onto the anvil, Bumin clears his throat. "Marriage means many things to many people," he says gruffly.

"Our Lord Eonak views it as the forging together of two souls into one. Much as a master smith folds metal to make it stronger, so too does this bond strengthen the two individuals," he continues. "Today we will forge the souls of GROOM and BRIDE into one with Eonak's blessing," Bumin intones.

Turning to face you, Bumin asks, "Do you, GROOM, take BRIDE to be your lawfully wedded companion, forged in the fire of life, from this day forth?"

Turning to face BRIDE, Bumin asks, "Do you, BRIDE, take GROOM to be your lawfully wedded companion, forged in the fire of life from this day forth?"
Success
"Very well," Bumin says. "Great Eonak, Master of the Forge, we ask your blessing upon this union that two may be stronger as one."

Bumin takes a perfect mithril forging hammer from his apron and strikes a single blow upon the bejeweled anvil. A low resonate tone echoes through the area, answered moments later by the high, pure ring of hammer on steel. Bumin smiles and hangs his hammer from a loop on his apron.

"Eonak has heard. Eonak has answered," he quietly states. "From this day forth, you will work the raw metal of life as one. I pronounce you married under the law and in the eyes of Eonak," he says. Turning to the assembled guests, Bumin announces, "Congratulate the happy couple." Without further ado, he steps down as two attendants gather the bejeweled altar and follow him out.
Rejection
Nodding gravely, Bumin states, "It is important to work the impurities from the metal before forging, lest it become brittle and break." Turning to the assembled guests, he says, "There will be no union this day. Please enjoy the refreshments laid out before you." Without further ado, he steps down as two attendants gather the bejeweled altar and follow him out.
