Steward Jarnsaixa Vargrdoittr (pronounced Yourn-sayk-suh) has served the Sun Throne for many years, including on the Demonwall. She also trained with the Nalfein, studying poisons among other things. She is the first female Imperial Blade in history.

In Lormesta 5123, she was Lady Sayilla Javilerre's bodyguard during their overland trip between River's Rest in Torre to Brisker's Cove in Seareach. She continued to accompany Sayilla as they sailed north to Wehnimer's Landing, and then traveled by land south again back to Vornavis. She took her role as bodyguard seriously, intervening when those hostile to the Empire or the traveling party were present and inspecting anything that others wanted to give to Sayilla beforehand.

Following the death of Lady Kasendra Malwind in Fashanos 5123, Jarnsaixa accompanied Sayilla aboard Captain Kimrella de'Naut's ship Starseeker as they embarked at night from Vornavis to Tamzyrr. While en route, Niatha, posing as the aged healer Grenhal, attacked both Sayillla and Jarnsaixa as they were in the captain's quarters. Sayilla was thrown overboard, but Jarnsaixa managed to stab Niatha before she vanished. As adventurers on deck sought to illuminate the area to find Sayilla, a pirate ship attacked and was eventually repelled, but neither Sayilla nor her attacker were found and both were presumed dead. One of the pirates was captured and brought back to Vornavis for questioning, while Jarnsaixa boarded another ship to continue the search for Sayilla through the night. The next morning, as she sought to turn herself over for failure to uphold her duty to protect Sayilla, she finally realized that her injury also carried a poison.

Since then, her wound has festered, though Magister Odelgarde Brindlestraffe has sought to find a remedy for it, occaisionally updating adventurers on her status. When one showed Mistress Leisette a sample taken from Jarnsaixa, Leisette remarked that the sample seemed very familiar to her. It had also appeared in festering wounds that had covered a man fished out of the ocean along the Imperial coast a bit over a month earlier, coinciding approximately with the attack on Sayilla. While Jarnsaixa's health was reported to be slowly improving, Lady Athalia Malwind shared news that Emperor Aurmont intended to have Jarnsaixa remain in Vornavis under care of an individual designated by the Throne until the matter of Kasendra's death is resolved, and only then would she be turned over to the Sapphire Guard of Ta'Illistim to answer for Sayilla's death.

Several months later, in late summer 5123, Jarnsaixa shared that she was now once again fit to be called Steward, which coincided with the appearance of a mysterious "friend" by her side. In addition, through extended research and help from Odelgarde, librarian Tasytha, and adventurers, her wound from Niatha was starting to recover.
