Summary

Grishom Stone emerges from the Deadfall forest to hear whether he has an answer regarding Thrayzar. Sir Goldstr says they're looking into ways to get a true answer and Grishom says he is their way, starting with delving into his mind.

Kayse raises the question of how we'll know whether Thrayzar or Grishom is the one choosing Thrayzar's path and Grishom says it appears to be quite a bit of drama for him to simply force the orc's hand. He elaborates that everyone will accompany him and they'll be the ones to present Thrayzar with his choices if they're able to find him among the remnants of Raznel's trappings. Amidst a few challenges over whether this is a good idea, Grishom says everyone being there will ensure all goes well.

Ultimately, most gathered tentatively agree to a future meeting to enter Thrayzar's mind.

Log

Stone Re-Emerges

A speck of crimson light flickers in the distance.

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Willm disk, the oleaginous Solmarar disk trailing slick ebon tentacles, a very short blood red grik'mlar, a sinuous bone white serpent, a shaggy silver and white puppy with mismatched blue and brown eyes, the Kayani disk, the faenor Chandrellia disk inlaid with intersecting bands of jet, a wingstem potion, a rose-marrow potion, a brostheras potion, a bolmara potion, some ephlox moss, a fresh oatmeal doughnut, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin and some wide stone benches with some stuff on it.

Also here: Town Councilor Leafiara, Willm, Quilthaias, Solmarar, Lord Thrassus, Lady Kayani, Town Councilor Chandrellia, Dakkurie, Andromalius who is sitting, Finwoop who is sitting

Solmarar darkly says, "I get to test out theory."

Solmarar points at Leafiara.

Leafiara curiously asks, "Yes?"

Speaking darkly to Leafiara, Solmarar says, "Nothing..."

Leafiara curiously asks, "So, uh... where are the Gryphons at?"

A flicker of crimson light appears beyond Upper Trollfang, shimmering above the gnarled, blackened forest of the Deadfall.

Kayani softly says, "Munchies."

Solmarar darkly says, "Oh dear."

Solmarar darkly says, "Its starting."

Speaking to Kayani, Pietra exclaims, "You smell great!"

Speaking softly to Pietra, Kayani exclaims, "Thank you!"

Pietra says, "Like coffee and dessert."

Kisun softly says, "Things gonna get weird soon, maybe.."

Speaking to Kisun, Pietra says, "Weirder, that is."

Leafiara confesses, "You know, at this point I don't know why I'm here. I've already been waiting for years for Grishom to do literally anything that would live up to the reputation people have laid out for him, but he's always just a bore."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "I think you should tell him that. See what happens."

Severine softly says, "She kind of does."

Speaking wryly to Pietra, Leafiara says, "I'm pretty sure I have before."

Leafiara muses, "Oh wait, no, that was telling him his boy Malluch was boring, not him."

Quilthaias softly says, "Youalls be safe tonite."

[General] Pietra thinks, "Stone's busy flashing trollfang as we speak."

Kayani softly asks, "Where is the fun in that?"

Leafiara slowly reiterates, "So, uh, about those Gryphons since only they know where Thrayzar is..."

[General] Hyalite asks, "Pietra, what was that crimson light?"

Chandrellia softly says, "I wish Akenna was here."

A cold wind stirs from the Upper Trollfang, as a scarlet light glows briefly near the edge of a gnarled black forest.

Leafiara thoughtfully says, "Oh, I guess he wants us to head there this time."

[General] Pietra thinks, "That was Grishom Stone. He likes to be obvious."

Leafiara asks, "All in favor?"

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia asks, "May I seeing as Pukk isnt here?"

Leafiara lightly says, "Have at it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "Pie."

Leafiara says, "Moving in ten."

Chandrellia softly exclaims, "Everyone join Leafi!"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "Recite."

Speaking softly to Pietra, Chandrellia says, "Oh yes."

Chandrellia recites softly:

"Everyone join Leafi"

Leafiara says, "Five..."

Leafiara says, "Three..."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "You'll be fine, just need practice."

Leafiara says, "One..."

Leafiara says, "Movin'."

Speaking softly to Pietra, Chandrellia says, "I miss Pukk doing it."

[Upper Trollfang]

The path twists and turns as it covers this area of transition between a dark forest to the southwest and a flat, moonlit plain to the north. You also see a gnarled black forest.

Also here: Lord Yorne, Goldstr, Dame Evia, Lord Thrassus

Kisun, Pietra, Severine, Kayani and Chandrellia followed.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "I miss doin it with Pukk, too."

Leafiara says, "Ahh, so that's where the Gryphons were."

Evia says, "Sounds personal."

Goldstr asks, "We were where?"

Leafiara says, "Out here."

Evia says, "To be honest, most are sound asleep."

Some of the gnarled black trees begin to shift.

Leafiara remarks, "Sure taking his time tonight."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "He likes the dramatic entrance."

Speaking boredly to Chandrellia, Leafiara assures, "I'm well aware."

Evia says, "Slogging through gnarls is hard slow work I guess."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "And then.... nothing."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Oh I know, I was just agreeing with your words earlier."

(Kisun stares curiously into the gnarled black forest. Kisun squints, then blinks a few times and shakes his head.)

Kisun softly says, "I don't see a thing in there.."

Pietra whispers to the group, "What is that... all sound and fury, signifying nothing?"

Like gnarled fingers being bent backwards, some of the black trees peel aside as Grishom Stone steps into view, marching out from the depths of the forest and into the moonlight-bathed ground of the Trollfang. Behind him, deep in the Deadfall, the faint outline of sanguine cocoons imbedded into oily black trees can be seen, just before the edge of the forest closes behind him.

Speaking softly to Evia, Kisun says, "I never, slogged through anything, so it would be quite difficult."

Evia says, "It's definitely not a hidden secret bakery for black forest cakes."

Evia glances at Grishom.

Evia says, "Or maybe.."

Goldstr says, "Allo Stone."

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "Evening Grishom."

Information and Arrangements

Grishom says, "Good evening."

Kayse whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "Well it was."

Leafiara casually greets, "Evenin'."

Grishom grins at Thrassus.

Thrassus snickers.

Kisun whispers to the group, "Cocoons?"

Pietra says, "Wow, there's some gross stuff back there."

Speaking softly to Pietra, Kisun says, "Reminded me of my younger years being dragged around the spider temple."

Grishom says, "Do I have an answer then?"

Speaking to Kisun, Pietra says, "That sounds horrific."

Speaking softly to Pietra, Kisun says, "I'm all better now though."

Evia says, "I would imagine you have alot of answers, you just keep them secret."

Goldstr says, "We be lookin to find a way to get a true answer from Thrayzar."

Grishom says, "I am your way to obtain a true answer."

Grishom says, "First, we must delve into his mind."

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "Perhaps others feel differently."

Grishom nods at Goldstr.

Goldstr says, "Aye."

Speaking to Grishom, Pietra says, "Let's do it then. Enough talk, show us what you're made of. Or something. I'm kind of tired, actually. Hrm, nevermind."

Speaking curiously to Grishom, Kayse says, "I think what most people are wondering is, how will we know if he is choosing his path or if you are."

Grishom begins chuckling at Falvicar!

Grishom asks, "You think Ronan has heard your prayers?"

Grishom peers quizzically at Falvicar.

Falvicar gibbers incoherently.

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia asks, "And why wouldnt he?"

Grishom says, "You are nothing to him. In truth, he should be nothing to you."

Speaking quietly to Grishom, Falvicar says, "Yes, but I am surprised you somehow heard m' thoughts."

Grishom nods at Falvicar.

Grishom asks, "Are you?"

Stormyrain gazes in amusement at Falvicar.

Grishom says, "That is widely known to, kind of be my thing."

Grishom smirks.

Evia says, "Surprise surprise."

Kayani softly says, "He hears everything."

Stormyrain gazes in amusement at Grishom.

Grishom grins at Stormyrain.

Grishom grins at Lylia.

Lylia grins at Grishom.

Grishom says, "To your question..."

Grishom nods at Kayse.

Grishom says, "This does appear to be quite a bit of drama, for me to simply, force the orc's hand."

Grishom nods at Kayse.

(OOC) Chandrellia's player whispers to the group, "Omg I want to throw a snowball at him ssoo badly."

Pietra says, "And nobody likes drama. Nope."

Grishom says, "Power for destruction is easy. True power comes in creation."

Grishom grins at Kayse.

Kayse gazes in amusement at Grishom.

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "Might I ask something tho I am sure it was asked already."

Grishom nods at Chandrellia.

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "Aye wise words."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "His favorite color is probably black."

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "Whats in it for you."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "No, wait. Red."

Leafiara thoughtfully says, "Philosophizing at one in the morning. Works for me."

Speaking to Grishom, Kayse remarks, "I am merely echoing concerns of the people."

Barrister Faerinn just arrived.

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Kisun says, "Best time to think."

Speaking softly to Pietra, Chandrellia says, "Then he'll love my eyes."

Faerinn peers quizzically at Grishom.

With a jaunty wink, Faerinn forms finger crossbows with both of his hands and points them at Grishom. He cocks his thumbs back and releases them while making the sound of a crossbow string's *TWANG*. Faerinn's playful smile widens as if awaiting a response.

Grishom says, "I believe one of the ex-mayors can explain why I am offering this."

Speaking to Kisun, Leafiara muses, "Well, other than even... later? Earlier? Numerically higher in the morning."

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "I wasnt asking her, I was asking you."

Faerinn says, "Oh, good, its the godling whose omnipotence ends at Jantalar's borders."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Kisun says, "Ooh, you mean when I'm asleep? Gotcha."

Grishom smirks at Faerinn.

Chandrellia softly says, "I know about some promise, but whats in it for you personally."

Speaking to Grishom, Kayse inquires, "Is it just you who will be swimming his mind? Are we able to somehow observe what you are doing?"

Grishom says, "You will all accompany me."

Grishom nods at Kayse.

Grishom says, "You will be the ones to present to him his choices."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Well, he did explain last time. I think you weren't here, maybe, but basically he says any future with Thrayzar cured works out better for him."

Grishom says, "If you find him."

Kayse indifferently says, "That seems to be reasonable then....but I have no decision in this matter."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Hhmmm could be reverse psychology in hopes we dont cure him, which is what he is really wanting."

Grishom smirks.

Speaking to Leafiara, Stormyrain responds, "Cured, or restored to his former cursed form. The futures where Thrayzar is in his current state don't bode well for the outcome Grishom wishes, I think is more accurate?"

Kisun softly says, "Options sound better when you're not the one making the decision."

Stormyrain murmurs, "Or is at least what I took from our previous meeting."

Grishom nods.

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia asks something you don't understand.

Thrassus says, "That is correct."

Speaking uncertainly to Stormyrain, Leafiara says, "I'm not sure how that's different from what I said, but okay."

Grishom says, "I believe we all benefit from a cured Thrayzar."

Lylia asks, "If I have ten thousand silvers in my pockets, and I give you five thousand of them because I find them heavy, you are still five thousand silvers richer. Why does it matter what my purpose is, if it was benign or merely self-concerned?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Stormyrain says, "He would not be truly 'cured' if he is still an orc with a human mind? Since his original form is human. At least, in my mind."

Goldstr says, "Aye Thrayzar cure WOULD be good fer all Specially him."

Grishom says, "Then it is settled? You will join me next week in delving into the orc's mind? The chaos that it is at this present time."

Leafiara confesses, "I've never even exchanged words with Thrayzar, so I don't know whether he was satisfied with being an orc or not. I suppose that's the difference."

Lylia adds, "And I have heard, speaking of former mayors, that Stone is why we have Cruxophim still among us. He has proven his healing capabilities in the past."

Faerinn asks, "Will there be drinks?"

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "Speakin fer da Order I think that would be fine."

Stormyrain says, "Will we attempt to gain his consent for the entering of his mind prior to simply doing so? I know that the likelihood of any answer from him is ...slim."

Grishom says, "You'll need to find him in the chaos. Present him his choices, and I shall do the rest."

Grishom nods at Goldstr.

Grishom looks over at Stormyrain and shakes his head.

Faerinn says, "It sounds like we are going directly in to get said permission."

Grishom says, "We will be barging in."

Speaking softly to Stormyrain, Kisun says, "Being 'cured' would be a matter of his mind. A body is but a vessel for the mind. The same mind in a different body is still the same mind."

Kayse whispers something to Stormyrain.

Pietra says, "And this 'cure,' if I remember correctly, may move him back into human form that none of us has seen, from long ago. And may not be a good thing for him at all."

Grishom says, "But his choice."

Grishom nods at Pietra.

Pietra says, "Well, true."

Lylia says, "We do not get to decide what is a good thing for him."

Speaking to Grishom, Pietra asks, "And we will be there throughout, while you are curing?"

Lylia says, "That is, I believe, the point of the discussion."

Grishom nods at Pietra.

Kayani softly says, "Like a trip through the orc's mind? That sounds fascinating."

Speaking to Kisun, Stormyrain says, "I understand that perspective, I'm just not sure I share it since Thrayzar does consider what was done to him as a 'curse'. One he's accepted and adapted well to, but it's still a curse that put him there. Whether he will prefer that form to his original one, we will find out next week I suppose."

Speaking to Lylia, Pietra says, "I was simply reiterating information from the last meeting, for those who were not privy to it."

Thrassus says, "The last time we visited his mind did not go so well."

Speaking to Pietra, Nazarr says, "Thank you."

Grishom says, "Perhaps a better outcome this time."

Speaking nonchalantly to Thrassus, Kayse says, "It does not seem like we have other options. Months have gone by."

Grishom nods at Thrassus.

Xorus says, "It was going well enough until everyone decided to slaughter his family in front of him. Again."

Grishom says, "The witch is gone, but her trappings remain. Finding Thrayzar within his beastial curse will not come easy, but it is possible."

Speaking softly to Grishom, Kisun asks, "Is there a way to track him, inside his mind? Ways to know if we're getting closer?"

Grishom says, "We shall discover that."

Grishom nods at Kisun.

Kayse gently closes her red leather tome, taking care with its pages.

Faerinn says, "We were pretty close to reaching him in Jantalar. It must be easier to do so straight from his mind."

(Kayse drums her fingertips on her red leather tome, a pensive expression on her face.)

Grishom says, "It is a good book."

Grishom nods at Kayse.

Grishom grins at Faerinn.

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "Sets a date an da Gryphon's will escort him th where ye wish to meet."

Grishom says, "Then we are in agreement."

Speaking nonchalantly to Grishom, Kayse says, "Good is relative, but I have read it a few times."

Grishom says, "Upon next Feastday."

[General] Pangin thinks, "Candor is in town."

[General] Candor asks, "Really? Where is that little twerp?"

Goldstr says, "Feastday."

Faerinn asks, "Is it a bloody good book?"

Nazarr says, "So much to do on Feastday."

[General] Pavender exclaims, "At least allow him the courtesy of announcing himself!"

Speaking softly to Goldstr, Chandrellia asks, "So we're just going to do this, just hand him over and hope all is well once again?"

[General] Candor thinks, "I'll tear him limb from limb."

Kayse frankly says, "I'm not going to rave about the possible merits of it while he's here. His ego is big enough."

Pietra says, "Ah, I will not be present. Missing a trip into the mind of a cursed human in orc form. Actually a bit sad about that one."

[General] Candor thinks, "After I ask him out on a date, of course."

Speaking softly to Grishom, Kisun says, "What's back there."

[General] Pangin thinks, "I just thought your friends would want to know."

Grishom says, "You will be there, to ensure all goes well."

Grishom nods at Chandrellia.

Chandrellia squints at Grishom.

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "You can count on that one."

Drektor whispers something to Kayse.

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "I dont trust you."

Grishom says, "Good."

(Chandrellia peers over Grishom's shoulder at the gnarled trees that were once opened revealing the cocoons.)

Speaking to Grishom, Pietra asks, "So yeah, what is back in the forest? There seemed to be some sort of cocoons?"

Speaking softly to Grishom, Chandrellia says, "So what ya expermimenting on in there."

Faerinn says, "Big moths."

Kayani softly says, "Clones...."

Speaking softly to Kayani, Chandrellia says, "Not funny."

Speaking softly to Chandrellia, Kayani says, "I wasnt joking, lovely."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara muses, "But also possibly not wrong."

Grishom asks, "Experimenting?"

Grishom shakes his head.

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Thats why I said not funny."

Grishom says, "Creating."

Speaking softly to Kayani, Kisun says, "I hope my clones got coin for an ale after this.."

Speaking softly to Kisun, Kayani says, "I agree."

Speaking to Grishom, Pietra asks, "Care to elaborate?"

Speaking softly to Grishom, Kisun asks, "Creating what, exactly?"

Speaking to Grishom, Pietra says, "We don't exactly like having surprise whatevers growing in the forests."

Kayani softly says, "Clones cant be much worse than constructs."

Grishom says, "You'll need to try harder than that."

Grishom smirks.

Speaking softly to Kayani, Chandrellia says, "Unless they are clones of officals in town that we cant determine which is which."

Speaking to Kisun, Pietra says, "Experimental things no less."

Grishom says, "Good evening to you all. I shall come to you on Feastday."

Speaking offhandedly to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "That's more Raznel's thing."

Speaking to Grishom, Faerinn says, "This was a good talk."

Nazarr says, "Good evening."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "We shall be der."

Goldstr nods at Grishom.

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Hey, the way I see it after all I have seen in the last, oohhh year and half, it could be anybodies thing."

Pietra says, "Should we trust this one who is infesting the forest with gods know what to also enter a man's mind, taking us with him... no."

[General] Candor asks, "Why hunt and get my hands dirty when all you sleeping zombies have done the hard work for me?"

Speaking to Grishom, Lylia says, "A pleasure, as ever."

Kayani softly asks, "Could you possibly stuff Candor in one of them pods?"

Speaking tentatively to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "No, I've never seen clones of myself except the ones made by Raznel and the ones that were in Chaston's mind--"

[General] Tipperary thinks, "Will you come steal my 6k already I can't stand up."

Speaking surreptitiously to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Actually, there's an interesting thought." [this log cuts off before getting to it, but was about how Rodnay had been the one to help everyone enter Chaston's mind]

Speaking in Krolvin, Drennix deeply barks something you don't understand.

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Ok I dont want to know why Chaston had you in his mind with clones."

Grishom turns and steps towards the gnarled forest. The twisted trees bend and open as he passes into the shadows of the Deadfall. Just as the trees close, you catch another glimpse of countless sanguine cocoons imbedded like rubies into the bark of oily black trees, and figures in the shadows moving about, to and fro. The edge of the Deadfall closes.
