by Leafiara Autumnwind of the TownCrier

Synopsis

Future Baron Elidal comes to the Wayside Inn to pick up a gift in town. While around, he inquires about recent events, then picks up a gift for Lady Aronia of the Green Sisters, whose caravan is arriving the next night: a vial of soil from Talador before it was destroyed.

He notices Archious of the Dhe'nar and asks to see the Obsidian Tower, so the group heads over. Elidal and Archious recount the Obsidian Tower's proposal, which is:

The Barony of Darkstone will:

  • Give a written deed of ownership of the Tower's grounds in recognition of our pre-existing claims that we would display in our museum and signage at the end of the path to keep settlers out. This deed would be signed by Earl Jovery.
  • Promises to respect the Tower's sovereignty within those bounds recorded in that deed.
  • The Hall of Mages will never attempt to exert any control or oversight of our activities on that land.

Conversely, the Obsidian Tower will:

  • Not oppose the construction of an Imperial settlement in word or act.
  • Not bring in military forces greater than necessary to secure the boundaries above.
  • Step back from our claim to Darkstone.
  • We would also be free to bring in provisions and supplies as needed for the Tower's maintenance by land or sea, and any products or artisan goods as we might wish to trade with the locals.

Elidal says he thinks it's fair, logical, and respectable and that if he desires it, he can make it come to pass since he has the Earl's ear. He says he'll grant the requests if the Obsidian Tower declares no practices of slavery, voluntarily or not, sets free any within its tower, makes them right and whole, and will not practice slavery at large. Archious says the Council will convene on the counterproposal.

The group returns to the Wayside Inn, where Sir Guarrin asks what the course of action is regarding Captain Bodohal now that his identity has been confirmed. Elidal says he wishes to know more about the Captain another night, then adds he will not begin to dictate how the Landing handles its threats and the Captain is not one of his. However, Guarrin says he would imagine the Northern Sentinel would not approve of a vessel firing on a protectorate, so Elidal says we can deal with him together if the town so wishes.

After Elidal goest to rest, the white-cloaked sylvan woman Iliyaas approaches the gates while maintaining a distance. She says Elidal will sleep well tonight, but the future will hold sadness and carve a crack within his heart. The eyes of Eorgaen bring a deep storm that will last fourteen days and she says not to tell Elidal tonight, to let him sleep his final good rest.

Log

Elidal Catches Up

The sky is filled with a blanket of low clouds, pale and unmoving. Sounds seem muffled and the air feels thick and takes on a quiet stillness.

A smattering of icy flakes tumble down from the sky, painting the black heavens like a field of ashen freckles.

[General] Elidal thinks, "Good evening to you all."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "Fair eve Lord Elidal."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Evening Elidal."

[General] Lylia thinks, "Good evening to you."

[General] Yukito politely thinks, "Evening."

[General] Mirer thinks, "Good evening."

[Realm] Guarrin thinks, "Lord Elidal. Good evening."

[General] Elidal thinks, "Another curtain of white from the sky. It's quite majestic."

[General] Arenglae thinks, "It is, indeed."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Evening Lord Elidal."

[General] Elliathe thinks, "Good eve M'lord."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "It's also quite cold."

[General] Elidal thinks, "I think the cold brings a measure of comfort. Feeling it reminds us we're alive."

[General] Geijon thinks, "We're not even promised waking up in th' morning, aye, Lord Elidal."

[General] Mirer thinks, "I would feel just as alive next to a warm hearth."

[General] Alosaka thinks, "That is... one way of considering Winter."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Aye."

[General] Elidal asks, "I'm picking up a gift in town, I'll be along shortly. Shall we chat fire side? Or where the snow can kiss our skin?"

[General] Mirer thinks, "Fireside."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "If it's all the same to you, I'd prefer a fire, myself."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "I am in favor of fire side."

[General] Lylia thinks, "I prefer fire."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "I am outvoted."

[General] Arenglae thinks, "I would prefer the snow."

[Realm] Yukito murmurs, "I like snow."

[General] Arenglae thinks, "But my opinion should not hold sway in this regard."

[General] Elidal thinks, "Fireside it is. Let me know where you will be."

[Realm] Yukito asks, "Where is a pleasant fire, folks?"

[General] Geijon asks, "How about Waysides?"

[General] Cryheart asks, "Waysides Inn?"

[General] Elidal thinks, "The decision is yours."

[General] Geijon thinks, "Waysides is an Inn outside th' gates for travelers. We're in th' dining room, Lord Elidal."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "We are in the Chamber of Wayside Inn..by a fireplace."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "But there are no sticks."

[Wayside Inn, Chamber]

Tables and chairs of all shapes, sizes and states of disrepair fill this large, undecorated chamber. Seated at many of the tables are groups intent on serious card games. From the far side of the room you hear the noisy cheers of a ragtag group of spectators rooting for the underdog in a wristwrestling match between the local blacksmith and an overfed member of the Wehnimer's Citizens' Militia. You also see the Randsford disk, an animated flayed gigas disciple, the Vaemyr disk, a black leather book flying around with its feathery wings, the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine, the discordant Lahanna disk, a black-toed saddleback foxhound, an exceedingly dry split log, the Mirer disk, a chunk of dry firewood, the rectangular Yukito disk fashioned of oiled tanik, a bereaved ocean spirit that is flying around, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the Kiyna disk, an inlaid leather grimoire soaring around with its gilt-swept ethereal violet pinions, a rough oak table with some stuff on it, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake with glossy holly leaves sticking out of her head, a lazy wild dark red dog, the web-draped Missoni disk, the sparking Dendum disk, the Guarrin disk, the Stormyrain disk, the Emperia disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Geijon disk, a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox that is sitting, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf and a stone fireplace.

Also here: High Lady Saraphenia, Event Planner Leafiara, Ifanna, Sir Bristenn, Lord Randsford, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Lord Elidal, Kelfyr, Bakarus, High Lady Lahanna, Jurist of Eye Leifa, Mirer, Hospitaller Yukito, Perigourd, Town Councilor Kiyna, Town Councilor Kayse, Xorus, Imperatrix Lylia, Missoni, Dendum, Sir Guarrin, Stormyrain, Lady Emperia, High Lord Irval, Alosaka, Sunwu, Archious, Rasson, Asben, Lady Elliathe, Sir Geijon, Lady Arenglae, Drektor, Sir Cryheart

Speaking to Arenglae, Alosaka says, "You can roll around in the snow with Kori later."

Speaking to Elidal, Geijon says, "I think you will find this spot to your liking."

Elidal asks, "I understand there was a court session to the south?"

Leafiara says, "Ah, here they all are."

Elidal asks, "How are the Malwinds?"

Speaking to Elidal, Arenglae says, "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I have heard much about you."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "The Baron seems a little under the weather."

Elidal bows to Arenglae.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Lady Athalia is well."

Cryheart says, "His Excellency is under the weather."

Elidal says, "The pleasure is mine."

Elidal nods at Perigourd.

Cryheart says, "Lady Athalia took control of the session."

Speaking carefully to Alosaka, Arenglae says, "There is a comment I wish I could make to retort that, but it is unsuitable for the public."

Elidal asks, "Did she do well?"

Cryheart says, "She did."

Cryheart nods at Elidal.

Cryheart says, "Quite well."

Missoni dreamily says, "She was very well-spoken."

Elidal says, "The formalities of court can be stressful."

Cryheart says, "As if she has done it for years."

Cryheart nods at Elidal.

Elidal says, "I do not miss them."

Leafiara wryly says, "Ain't that the truth."

Speaking to Elidal, Arenglae agrees, "Indeed."

Kiyna says, "You don't want me in court."

Speaking to Elidal, Saraphenia asks, "You are the Baron?"

Cryheart says, "To come."

Speaking confidentially to Kiyna, Leafiara whispers aloud, "Me neither."

Elidal says, "We all bleed the same, regardless of how tight a bodice or cravat is."

Elidal chuckles.

Speaking to Saraphenia, Archious corrects, "He has not yet been..coronated, I believe is the term."

Kayse whispers something to Stormyrain.

Elidal says, "I am not "the Baron" yet, no."

Speaking to Alosaka, Arenglae hums, "Hmm."

Elidal says, "I am Elidal, or you may call me Eli."

Elidal nods at Saraphenia.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "There was mention of other events that I imagine they will contact you about."

Alosaka corrects, "...or Lord Elidal."

The voice of Raelee says, "The tightened garment could, depending on where worn and the nature of the wound, have potential to staunch bleeding. Thus, one may or may not 'bleed the same'."

Bristenn offhandedly remarks, "But the Baron Potentate, as it were."

Speaking politely to Elidal, Saraphenia asks, "Might I ask a question of you?"

Elidal smirks.

Speaking to Elidal, Arenglae introduces, "If I may, I am Arenglae Amalathia of House Illistim."

Cryheart says, "Evening, Magister."

Elidal says, "I stand corrected Magister."

Speaking to herself, Elliathe mumbles, "Eli, Elli, could get confusing."

Elidal says, "You are far from home. Welcome."

Elidal bows to Arenglae.

Raelee says, "Of course."

Elidal nods at Guarrin.

Leafiara diplomatically says, "We are all the same in that we're capable of bleeding. There we go, something to agree upon."

Speaking to Elidal, Arenglae says, "My House has a treaty with the Emperor, Ser. I serve the Argent Mirror's interests in this."

Elidal says, "I had heard some rumblings from the court. We of course will welcome Vornavis's aide."

Xorus says, "Tourniquets are the new ankle bracelets."

Elidal asks, "You have not found much agreeable yet?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Leafiara.

Elidal says, "A pity."

Speaking amusedly to Elidal, Leafiara says, "Hm? No, I'm just jesting on the Magister's correction."

Elidal nods at Arenglae.

Speaking politely to Elidal, Saraphenia repeats, "Might I ask a question of you?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Saraphenia.

Elidal asks, "Beyond the one you just did?"

Elidal smirks.

Elidal says, "Yes, of course."

Elidal says, "You do not need permission to ask me a question."

Dame Deavon just arrived.

Elidal grins at Deavon.

Elidal says, "Dame."

Elidal says, "So many spurs, it's almost blinding."

Speaking politely to Elidal, Saraphenia asks, "Do you condone Commander Sablo's wholesale slaughter of innocent baby griffins and the eggs, and taking pleasure in it?"

Elidal says, "I look forward to the day when Darkstone's ranks has her own as well."

Elidal chuckles.

Alosaka quietly mutters, "And it begins."

[General] Qwizzer thinks, "Good to know, thanks for the information, I don't know if alot of people know how much goes into a chrism raise."

Elidal says, "You must be Saraphenia."

Leafiara says, "There we go, so few chairs in here..." [...she set up a chair. It wasn't implying anything about Thadston.]

Saraphenia sinks down in a deep curtsy before Elidal, her lashes lowered.

Speaking to Saraphenia, Mirer says, "It's easier to kill the pup than the wolf."

Lylia mockingly adds, "Also, have you stopped beating your wife yet? Ah, that is right, you do not have one; well, have you stopped beating your intended?"

Deavon says, "Is there a fireplace to lean against? I never sit..."

Elidal says, "I will say a few quick things, and not give it more."

Lylia dryly remarks, "Some questions are not really seeking an answer."

Elidal says, "I congratulate you all on your victory against Gnul, and robbing him of a weapon that he has wielded against both of our people."

Speaking to Perigourd, Deavon says, "Thank you."

Speaking to Deavon, Perigourd says, "Of course."

Missoni murmurs, "It was hard fought."

Irval says, "Apparently some are of the notion that those eggs. Not babies should of been left alone to grow."

Vaemyr says, "It was... messier than we wished certainly, but a good outcome overall."

Speaking to Irval, Saraphenia says, "Babies are innocent, Irval..."

Elidal says, "I am a follower of Imaera. When life is shed, I feel it perhaps more than others. But I too understand that, in this cycle of our world, which is often times cruel, there is no perfection path. There is no right, or wrong in some situations, but there is merely survival."

Leifa agrees, "Exactly."

Irval asks, "I agree. But they were eggs. Not babies. They hadnt hatched yet. Do you not eat eggs and toast?"

Thrassus says, "Until they learn to fly then start snatching roltons, and after that they move on to townsfolk."

Speaking to Elidal, Saraphenia asks, "But what about the Commander taking pleasure in destroying innocent lives?"

[General] Fugue thinks, "I tried that. some empaths don't fall over so easily."

Speaking stiffly to Irval, Arenglae says, "Unfertilized eggs are not the same as those within which life grows, Ser."

Sunwu says, "He's a soldier. Ain' so outta character fer 'im."

Elidal says, "Sometimes survival sees his carrying on our legacy with the tales of our history passed down to our children. That, is a form of survival. sometimes survival is finding yourself backed into a corner, your children weeping behind you, as an intruder approaches. Your hands slick with their blood in protection of your own, is also a form of survival."

Speaking to Arenglae, Irval says, "Sometimes war is messy. And sometimes you gotta break a few eggs."

Stormyrain abruptly states, "I hope we will not rehash this conversation again, this night for hours. It has become, as it were, a dead horse. Or grifflet. You choose."

Alosaka says, "Adult animals are as innocent as newborn animals. Animals don't have moral agency the way hum-- the way people do. What happened last night was difficult for many of us but necessary."

Elidal says, "But I believe that is the end of this matter."

Elidal nods.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Lylia says, "Either way, you are committing an atrocity in words by even saying it, Captain."

Lylia says, "I tease, I jest."

Speaking teasingly to Lylia, Stormyrain corrects, "Marshal."

Elidal's Gift

A young man arrives, tips his hat and approaches Elidal.

Lylia agrees, "Marshal."

Elidal exclaims, "Ah ha!"

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "I was wondering if you'd sent a delegate to the Reiver clan yet? A representative of theirs came forward recently with concerns from their tribe about the noise, and the imperial presence." [He does ultimately respond to this later, so bolding it.]

Speaking to Elidal, Saraphenia says, "I think that if the Commander were to have the opportunity, he would impale his sword through my chest and out my back between my wings."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Leafiara says, "Just leave it be, no minds will change here on any side anyway."

The young man shows Elidal a small vial suspended from a thin cord. Elidal nods, shakes his hand and passes him a small pouch. The young man bows, hands over the vial, tips his hat and departs.

Speaking to Saraphenia, Mirer says, "I do not think he would confuse you with a griffin."

Ifanna blithely remarks, "Roight dapper cap on th' lad aye?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Thrassus says, "That is a very good idea, it will help keep any misunderstandings occuring."

Speaking to Thrassus, Perigourd says, "Such is the hope."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr asks, "The, gift, you were looking for?"

Elidal holds the vial out before him, tilting it slightly, as the specks of dirt within it shift. He nods, then stows the vial away.

Elidal nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking huskily to Yukito, Ifanna jokes, "Fancy gettin' meself one tae."

Elidal says, "Lady Aronia arrives tomorrow with another caravan. Some of the Green Sisters are with her as well."

Elidal says, "I....got her a gift."

Elidal smiles.

Elidal says, "Soil, from Talador. Before it's fall."

Irval asks, "Smell-good?"

Sunwu whispers something to Archious.

Elidal says, "A piece of her home, here, in her new home."

Lylia asks, "...A vial of soil?"

Alosaka says, "I hope it will anchor a wonderful garden for her."

Thrassus says, "A valuable gift."

Elidal says, "Thoughtful, I had hoped."

Elidal nods at Lylia.

Speaking hesitantly to Elidal, Elliathe asks, "Do we expect Gnul to attack the caravans again?"

Missoni says, "Oh, how lovely."

Kayse remarks, "A thoughtful and dare I say romantic gesture."

Lylia says, "I see. A sentimental gift. Yes, it is thoughtful."

Elidal says, "We can expect it, yes."

Elidal nods at Elliathe.

Speaking amusedly to Elliathe, Leafiara asks, "Why wouldn't we?"

Xorus whispers something to Lylia.

Elidal says, "But without griffins."

Dealings with the Dhe'nar

Elidal glances at Archious.

Elidal says, "Ah! I had missed you in the crowd."

Elidal says, "I received your letter."

Elidal nods at Archious.

Elliathe quietly says, "I shall prepare myself again."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "So your commander notified me."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "I do trust the poor man was unharmed. Our scouts are quite exacting."'

Elidal says, "I have thought of your proposal."

Elidal nods at Archious.

Elidal asks, "Can you take us there?"

Saraphenia mutters, "How long will it be before I disappear..."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "You are wise to consider it. Your position is..untennable."

Elidal asks, "To the Obsidian Tower?"

Elidal says, "I do not intend to enter, I would not ask of that, but I would like to see it."

Elidal nods.

Speaking to Archious, Sunwu says, "Lord.."

Alosaka asks, "Isn't the Sentoph.... rather... somewhat hostile territory, at the moment?"

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "Eii, I will show you how close you may approach without offending the guards."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "We're in good number."

Alosaka asks, "Not by actions of our friends in the Tower, of course. But of Gnul?"

Elidal says, "We have not contacted the reivers yet, no."

Elidal looks over at Perigourd and shakes his head.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin asks, "Any idea of which direction the caravan approaches from?"

Elidal says, "The opposite of north and northwest."

Elidal nods at Guarrin.

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "It may do well to do so. Perhaps the Commander could assist them with some of the Krolvin, I expect it would go over well with the tribe and relations with them."

Guarrin slowly empties his lungs.

Irval asks, "South and south east?"

Elidal nods.

Elidal smirks.

Elidal says, "I am sorry, I am in a pleasant mood."

Lylia says, "Never apologize for a pleasant mood."

Elidal says, "Yes, lead us all to the Obsidian Tower please. To wherever we are allowed, you know..."safely"."

Speaking to Sunwu, Archious says, "Go and notify the guards to stand down."

Elidal winks at Archious.

Alosaka says, "They're rare enough without us feeling bad about them."

Elidal joins Archious's group.

Lylia says, "Surely we all deserve it after knowing that we achieved a significant victory last night."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "I apologize, this is as about as pleasant as I can muster."

Speaking wryly to Archious, Tikba asks, "They will stand down?"

Cryheart says, "Form on Archious."

Kiyna says, "So much for the warm fire, hm..."

Elidal begins chuckling at Guarrin!

Archious warily says, "If you will all stand near me."

Speaking to Tikba, Archious says, "They will do as they are commanded."

Elidal says, "Stand close to others."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara muses, "We can probably whip one up on the spot."

Elidal nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "I'd rather not."

Archious says, "I will move shortly."

Speaking to Archious, Lylia says, "Thank you for extending this invitation."

Speaking to Arenglae, Alosaka says, "This will be exciting. I've never been to the Onyx Tower."

Speaking to Kiyna, Perigourd says, "I could always assist with that, once we arrive, I believe."

Xorus says, "The Obsidian Tower has its own mana storm."

Archious says, "Moving."

[travel]

[A Faint Path]

Only a few scattered rosebushes remain in the magic-scarred waste, bearing roses as black as the tower that rises in their midst. The graceful obsidian walls of the dark edifice are smooth and seamless, and no entrance is visible. The air here in the tower's shadow crackles with a dark energy that seems to crawl along your skin. You also see a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake with glossy holly leaves sticking out of her head, an animated flayed gigas disciple, a black-toed saddleback foxhound, a grizzled porcupine, the Elliathe disk, the flaming Saraphenia disk, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the Stormyrain disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Kelfyr disk, the Mirer disk, the Durrem disk, the Vaemyr disk, the Wolfloner disk, the rectangular Yukito disk fashioned of oiled tanik, the Randsford disk, the Kiyna disk, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, the sparking Dendum disk, the Geijon disk, the Guarrin disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox, a lazy wild dark red dog and a bereaved ocean spirit that is flying around.

Also here: Lord Khazaann, Tikba, Dendum, Ulfwine, Imperatrix Lylia, Lady Elliathe, Lord Randsford, Durrem, Wolfloner, Lord Thrassus, High Lady Saraphenia, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Lord Elidal, Kelfyr, Jurist of Eye Leifa, Mirer, Hospitaller Yukito, Perigourd, Town Councilor Kiyna, Town Councilor Kayse, Xorus, Missoni, Sir Guarrin, Stormyrain, High Lord Irval, Magister Raelee, Alosaka, Sir Geijon, Lady Arenglae, Drektor, Sir Cryheart, Archious, Sunwu

Leafiara remarks, "Quick jaunt."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Standing close is how I get stepped on by accident."

Alosaka says, "Oh, Obsidian. Obsidian Tower."

Speaking to Archious, Sunwu says, "They are aware of us, lord. They will not act."

Irval says, "Least its not rickety."

Elidal says, "He's faster than you."

Speaking to Alosaka, Arenglae says, "Nor I... and I hope to not regret it..."

Elidal nods at Cryheart.

Saraphenia says, "The last time I was here, I was locked in a cell."

Geijon says, "Plenty of us have long memories."

Tikba murmurs, "You cannot see it from here."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Archious says, "Eii, that is what we would prefer to prevent."

Geijon says, "Lets not over do it."

Archious says, "Our holding facilities will be expanded soon, but I doubt you would all fit in the cells just now."

Kayse whispers something to Archious.

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "One of your first settlers died not far from here. He fled in this direction."

Alosaka gives the bell a good yank.

Leafiara glances at Alosaka.

Elidal glances at an obsidian tower.

Speaking to Archious, Leafiara asks, "Does that earn him a cell?" [Referring to Alosaka ringing the bell, not the settler--didn't even catch that part--but Archious thought it was the latter.]

Saraphenia says, "Thankfully Zeminar got me out of there."

Speaking to Leafiara, Archious says, "I have no idea what happened to him after that. The trolls got him."

Elidal stands in front of an obsidian tower.

Archious says, "I watch Gnul's assaults each night from the roof."

Elidal says, "They are so polished, I can see my own reflection. Darker though, perhaps a bit more twisted..."

Elidal nods.

Elidal gazes with interest at an obsidian tower.

Speaking proudly to Elidal, Sunwu says, "Our masons're th' best around."

Speaking to Archious, Missoni says, "I believe he had Lorminstra's favors. I found a half-elven fellow out here and we returned him to the Outpost."

Alosaka agrees, "It's quite the marvel of engineering."

Elidal says, "The walls look impenetrable."

Speaking to some wild rosebushes, Arenglae hums, "Hmm."

Elidal asks, "But, we all know the truth, don't we?"

Speaking wryly to Elidal, Archious says, "They will last longer than tent poles and canvas."

Elidal says, "Nothing is ever fully impenetrable."

Elidal says, "That much is true."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Been quite a while since I was here last."

Elidal nods at Archious.

Elidal says, "Tents are not our future."

Elidal says, "Castles, towns, walls of stone."

Elidal nods.

Irval says, "From your lips, to arkati ears , and the baker's daughter th...never mind."

Speaking to Elidal, Arenglae says, "I did have a question regarding that."

Speaking neutrally to Elidal, Archious says, "I do not care what you would build."

Elidal asks, "Do you wish to share the details of your proposal?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Archious.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna asks, "Castles? Plural?"

Archious says, "If you wish them to hear it, eii."

Elidal says, "I would argue you do care what we build, based on your proposal."

Archious says, "Though many have heard it already."

Elidal chuckles.

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka suggests, "Darkstone, Anwyn, Varunar... we have a few to spare."

Elidal says, "Let's revisit it, for those present who may not have."

Elidal nods at Archious.

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "Anwyn and Varunar are beyond the borders, I believe."

Elidal inclines his ear, listening intently.

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "Black Swan perhaps."

Leafiara says, "Hmm, is Varunar even--"

Archious loudly says, "In short, we wish to be left alone."

Saraphenia says, "Why do we need castles? We don't have kings and princes on this side of the Spines."

Elidal peers quizzically at Arenglae.

Archious says, "We have lived here, on the slopes of Sentoph for decades."

Elidal shrugs at Kiyna.

Archious says, "To keep it brief, we propose a written agreement between ourselves, and the human empire."

Speaking to Elidal, Arenglae says, "I mentioned it at court this evening, but one of the reasons I am here is to survey your supply lines and see what aid my House may provide."

Speaking to a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox, Deavon says, "Ugh... dirty."

Xorus says, "There is another castle in the mountains a bit to the west of here, it can be seen in some places around Sentoph."

Speaking curiously to Elidal, Arenglae inquires, "Is there anything in particular that I may attempt to request of my House?"

Elidal says, "Then we should discuss that soon."

Elidal nods at Arenglae.

Speaking to Elidal, Archious begins, "I think you can agree that it is safer for all concerned if your people and ours have limited contact. In that vein, you have assured us that the Empire will not interfere with the Tower's business, and we likewise would then have no cause to meddle in yours."

Speaking to Elidal, Arenglae says, "Indeed."

Geijon says, "Limited contact is wise."

Elidal says, "Your proposal was a bit more worded than that."

Elidal nods at Archious.

Kezoku whispers something to Leifa.

Elidal says, "Don't be shy."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious continues, "You understand that I have no reason to believe your words. I do not expect you to take mine as I speak them. Our relationship will not be built on trust. A document, that we may retain and display for all to see affirming that the environs around Sentoph will not be made available to your settlers, nor will your troops make permanent station there would put us at ease."

Elidal says, "It's okay, I will revisit the proposal's details for all."

Elidal clears his throat.

Elidal says, "Your expectation from the Barony of Darkstone was..."

Elidal recites:

"Give a written deed of ownership of the Tower's grounds in recognition of our pre-existing claims that we would display in our museum and signage at the end of the path to keep settlers out. This deed would be signed by Earl Jovery."

Elidal recites:

"Promises to respect the Tower's sovereignty within those bounds recorded in that deed."

Elidal recites:

"The Hall of Mages will never attempt to exert any control or oversight of our activities on that land."

Elidal asks, "Am I misrepresenting?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Archious.

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "No, that is accurate."

Elidal says, "Meanwhile, your offer from the Obsidian Tower was..."

Elidal recites:

"Not oppose the construction of an Imperial settlement in word or act. "

Elidal recites:

"Not bring in military forces greater than necessary to secure the boundaries above."

Elidal recites:

"Step back from our claim to Darkstone."

Elidal recites:

"We would also be free to bring in provisions and supplies as needed for the Tower's maintenance by land or sea, and any products or artisan goods as we might wish to trade with the locals."

Elidal asks, "Still accurate in my recounting?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Archious.

Irval says, "Not sure how thats going to go with the whole abdicating of the claim of Darkstone since that is where they are meant to ultimately reside."

Archious says, "I suppose that is slightly less theatrical than I had planned, but eii."

Alosaka asks, "Do... the Dhe'nar claim Darkstone as their own?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Archious says, "It is..a nacent claim, but eii, it has been in our posession."

Speaking to Alosaka, Thrassus says, "First I've heard of it."

Leafiara muses, "Honestly, the 'limited contact' summation earlier seemed to cover most of this."

Elidal says, "I am interested in that piece, your "claim" to Darkstone."

Elidal asks, "Does Estrion know?"

Elidal smirks.

Geijon says, "Most of th' Dhe'nar preferred Teras before this tower."

Tikba politely asks, "Does Estrion know of your claim?"

Elidal says, "Maybe I do like some formalities."

Lylia says, "Siarl might, if anyone could find him."

Elidal nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara grins crookedly at Elidal.

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "He has not shown himself since we placed his orb atop our tower."

Elidal asks, "Has he not?"

Archious says, "Ta'la'hai Starsnuffer Sunslayer killed Estrion."

Archious says, "And claimed Darkstone as his own."

Elidal asks, "Not even to forge a pact with some citizens of Wehnimer's Landing?"

Speaking to Archious, Geijon says, "He said he did."

Speaking to Lylia, Bakarus says, "Siarl still wanted for crimes by the kobolds."

Elidal says, "Either way, it doesn't matter."

Elidal chuckles.

Elidal says, "Your proposal is what it is."

Elidal says, "I will tell you this. I think it is fair."

Speaking darkly to Elidal, Wolfloner asks, "What gives you the authority to cede anything?"

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "I expect that the Earl will need his say in the matter."

Speaking to a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, Geijon says, "Or th' Dhe'nar to claim it."

Elidal says, "I think your desire to have the grounds of the Obsidian Tower be declared independent, and our assurance of no meddling in your affairs in this area is only logical, and respectable."

Speaking in Gnomish to a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, Dendum says something you don't understand.

Elidal says, "I have the Earl's ear. If I desire it enough, it will be."

Speaking darkly to Elidal, Wolfloner says, "They were already independent."

Speaking in Gnomish to a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, Dendum asks something you don't understand.

Speaking to Wolfloner, Geijon says, "Accepted and allowed, perhaps."

Elidal says, "I am glad you see the value of independence, and freedom, and a life of choices and no unwarranted scrutiny."

Elidal says, "Here is my counter."

Irval asks, "Basically nothing is loss to the Obsidian tower then and the new settlers have to give up land Im taking away from that proposal?"

Archious turns an inquisitive ear toward Elidal.

Leifa whispers something to Kezoku.

Speaking to Elidal, Saraphenia asks, "Do YOU see the value in that sir? Does the Empire?"

Elidal says, "I will grant your requests, and the independence of the Obsidian Tower and its rights to rule its land undisturbed...."

Speaking to Irval, Archious says, "It prevents a great deal of blood spillage to settle the matter."

Speaking to Irval, Thrassus says, "Not particularly."

Lylia says, "It is not precisely 'giving up land' as the grounds here are already not hosting Imperial settlers."

Leifa mouths, "Experiments."

Tikba says, "Indeed, they are already hosting the Dhe'nar."

Irval asks, "Well a race then? I think that should settle it. First to clear out all current inhabitants of Darkstone and make it and the lands surrounding safe for settlement sounds fair since both parties are saying its theirs?"

Elidal says, "If the Obsidian Tower will declare no practices of slavery, voluntarily, or not. That any within your tower will be set free, made right and whole, and it will not be practiced at large."

Elidal says, "If you claim to support freedom, then you must practice it all the same."

Archious smirks.

Deavon says, "Good luck with that."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious asks, "My boy, where do you think I *get* them?"

Alosaka says, "Not Darkstone, I'm guessing."

Irval asks, "The empire?"

Archious says, "It is your own criminal elements and petty lords who are all too happy to be rid of their undesirables."

Elidal says, "Call it whatever you want. Archious's Edict, I care not."

Elidal chuckles.

Speaking to Archious, Geijon says, "You have accomplished much for this location, Archious."

Saraphenia says, "None of the Dhe'nari I know practice slavery anymore."

Elidal says, "I do not expect an answer today."

Speaking to Archious, Kiyna asks, "You admit to being involved with Imperial criminal elements?"

Elidal says, "Or even this month. I presume it will take time."

Geijon says, "Stones are not th' community."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "I admit, you have surprised me with this demand."

Speaking to herself, Leafiara concedes, "'Archious' Edict' does have an interesting ring to it."

Speaking to Kiyna, Archious says, "I admit dealing with whoever can get me the things I need to perform my work."

Lylia asks, "Would that include those who willingly enter into some bond of servitude?"

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "He mentioned voluntarily."

Tikba murmurs, "Some of us might be considered Imperial criminal elements."

Lylia says, "I see."

Irval says, "Some people voluntarily indenture themselves with their families face the knife..."

Alosaka says, "Technically, enlisting is a form of voluntary servitude. I would be wary about declaring it outlawed, unless you wish to disband all your armies."

Geijon says, "Alosaka has th' right of it."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "As I am sure you must consult with your lord, so to must I."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr asks, "So... curious, since we are bringing up independence and rights to govern territories. Have you heard back from Earl Jovery about your letter about the Landing?"

Tikba amusedly says, "A ban on the Imperial levying of troops might resolve many of our problems."

Speaking to Elidal, Alosaka says, "All the knights you admired earlier began their careers with voluntary servitude."

Elidal says, "I am not asking for the disbarring of rightful service of sound mind with no level of coercion. Least we'd have to collect every knight's spur here and now."

Elidal chuckles.

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "I propose my original condition when you first arrived. Keep your people away from this place, and I will keep mine nearby."

Speaking darkly to Archious, Wolfloner says, "Perhaps you counter the Empire give up it's archaic form of government first."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "Lest we lose the chance to better understand each other in the face of a misfired arrow."

Elidal says, "Take the time, give it the thought it deserves."

Leifa gossips, "So the experiments can continue."

Elidal nods at Archious.

Leafiara says, "To me it seems the contention is over terminology, regarding what exactly constitutes voluntary slavery."

Tikba quietly says, "There is no such thing."

Speaking to Leafiara, Geijon says, "Less so here."

Elidal asks, "Do you speak for all of the Tower?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Archious.

Leafiara says, "Some would view the two juxtaposed words as inherently contradictory when put together."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "I am authorized to deal with you on this matter, eii. Our Council approved it."

Bakarus says, "Eternal Light, all."

Elidal asks, "But your Council is not aware of the counter proposal, correct?"

Elidal says, "Unless they are all present here at this moment..."

Elidal gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "No, they are not. The Highlady would prefer I feed you all to the storm."

Elidal says, "Which I do not think is true."

Dendum says, "They are not."

Elidal nods at Dendum.

Elidal says, "Then perhaps, allow the Council to continue its function. I have heard their proposal, I would have them hear mine."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "It will convene."

Archious designates Elidal as the new leader of the group.

Geijon whispers something to Elidal.

Elidal asks, "Shall we return to the fire?"

Irval says, "Please."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Yes, please."

Geijon says, "It was comfortable."

Saraphenia says, "If you will all excuse me...I am getting tired. I think I'm going to go home and go to bed."

Elidal says, "Even though it does feel warmer here suddenly."

Elidal chuckles.

Irval says, "Its bone cold out."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Interesting."

Elidal designates Guarrin as the new leader of the group.

Elidal nods at Guarrin.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin asks, "Back to the fire then?"

(OOC) Archious's player whispers to the group, "I passed you lead, I probably should have given it to Cryheart!"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Guarrin's got the lead." [Gutstorm just arrived.]

Saraphenia exclaims, "Hugs and kisses to you all from the Aelotoi of Love!"

Guarrin says, "Very well, heading out."

Elidal nods at Guarrin.

You also see an animated flayed gigas disciple, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, the Vaemyr disk, the Elliathe disk, the rectangular Yukito disk fashioned of oiled tanik, the Stormyrain disk, the Durrem disk, the Kelfyr disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, the crab-shaped Rasson disk, the Geijon disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the sparking Dendum disk, the flaming Saraphenia disk, the Guarrin disk, the Kiyna disk, the Mirer disk, the Randsford disk, the Wolfloner disk, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox, a lazy wild dark red dog, a bereaved ocean spirit that is flying around, a black-toed saddleback foxhound, a grizzled porcupine, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, an exceedingly dry split log, a chunk of dry firewood, a mug of Farn's root beer and a stone fireplace.

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "This does bring up another question."

(OOC) Lylia's player whispers to the group, "Ah, for a minute I thought that whisper was just to me, and I was wondering what I did to tick you off, Archious!"

Elidal peers quizzically at Perigourd.

Kelfyr says, "Gonna shock that boy again."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Lylia says, "He should be used to it, this time of year."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd asks, "Many in the Landing are used to travelling the environs in an unrestricted manner to pursue their interests or worship at local shrines. Will this be encumbered by the Barony and it's borders or will they retain the free right to travel between?"

Kelfyr says, "Party of thirty guests arrives, disappears, reappears again. Enough to hang up his apron and take up farming."

Elliathe says, "A very good question."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We deshide to align wit Gnul to shace out da perialsh yet?"

Elidal says, "Worship is important. There will be no restrictions."

Speaking to Elidal, Ulfwine says, ""And I, m'Lord have a small question for you, not unrelated, if you have time to hear it."

Elidal peers quizzically at Ulfwine.

[Realm] Yukito asks, "Will there be a list of laws for the territory made public, and by what means would those laws be changed?"

Ulfwine asks, "Have you made provisions for the spiritual welfare of your new settlement?"

Speaking drunkenly to Dendum, Gutstorm slurs, "Da more of deez me drink, da better me look to Lylia."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I think he might have missed your question as we were traveling back."

Elidal says, "In some regards, yes. Lady Aronia and some of the Green Sisters arrive tomorrow."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "It might not of been heard in the wind, but given your proposed agreement with the Obsidian Tower, I do wish to know if you've heard response to your letter, and about our status as a free and independent city."

Elidal asks, "What are your ideas?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Ulfwine.

Elidal asks, "A shrine within the camp?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I was just about to ask again."

Elidal looks over at Vaemyr and shakes his head.

Tikba murmurs, "A few new shrines would not go amiss."

Speaking to Elidal, Ulfwine says, ""The chapel at the outpost could benefit from a full time priest."

Elidal says, "I have not."

Leifa gushes, "Oh a shrine."

Alosaka says, "The settlers are welcome in the town's temple."

Elidal nods at Ulfwine.

Elidal grins at Alosaka.

Ulfwine asks, "I believe it is serviced by itinerants?"

Elidal says, "That is welcomed news. I will share it with them."

Mirer says, "Temples. We have a great many in this area."

Elidal nods at Alosaka.

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse inquires, "On behalf of Hospitaller Yukito..." Kayse gestures over to Yukito and back at Elidal, "Will there be a list of laws for the territory made public, and by what means would those laws be changed?"

Tikba politely says, "Some of them might wish to pay respects to a goddess other than Lorminstra."

Elidal pretends to fall asleep at the mention of the word laws.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "There is the matter of this Captain, and the Shiver still in the bay. Commander Sablo has informed us that he is indeed a Captain, however, he has also fired on fishing vessels within the bay. Amongst other disturbing rumors. What is the course of action, given that he has essentially fired on those within a protectorate."

Elidal smirks.

Leafiara suggests, "Many temples around here indeed, but one I must recommend not visiting is the Spider Temple."

Elidal says, "Of course, we will not be barbarians."

Speaking to herself, Stormyrain murmurs, "Has anyone told Sablo this?"

Elidal says, "We will have laws, much like your people, and laws for dealing with people who do not follow them. Again, much like yours."

Speaking wryly to Yukito, Kayse asks, "Perhaps you can blame his good mood for his jest, no?"

Elidal chuckles.

Alosaka asks, "And that includes Captains like this Bodohal?"

Elidal says, "Sablo can be rough, I know. I've heard stories even before the new ones."

[Realm] Yukito asks, "I mean specifically. By what means will the laws be subject to change? By whom?"

Elidal says, "But one cannot pick up an axe, and wish it a sword, and then cry to the sky when it remains but an axe."

Evia asks, "Oh like the law wherein the Rooks are allowed to light fires on our rooftops? Those ones?"

Stormyrain gazes in amusement at Elidal.

Tikba politely says, "The Hospitaller would like more detail."

Stormyrain says, "I was not complaining about him, I just wonder if he understands he will need to --conform a bit in the years to come."

Speaking to Elidal, Randsford says, "No, but one can go back and buy the weapon they wanted."

Irval says, "Or shoot citizens in the head for speaking out against them..."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse adds, "And a follow up from Yukito: by what means will the laws be subject to change? By whom?"

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr asks, "Perhaps, he could write some diplomatic phrases on his hands for when he needs to work with others?"

Elidal says, "He will if he has not yet."

Elidal nods at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain nods faintly.

Geijon says, "Mayor Thadston has broken plenty of necks."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum remarks, ""Eh...from time to time arrows do miss targets..."

Kelfyr says, "One would hope it does not take years."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "And chairsh."

Elidal says, "That will be decided and worked out."

Speaking lightly to Geijon, Stormyrain says, "And I like him, also."

Elidal nods at Kayse.

Speaking to Kayse, Geijon says, "I did not agree."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Geijon says, "I am mxied."

Stormyrain lightly says, "You traditionally are, Sir."

Speaking to Evia, Kiyna says, "Anyone is allowed to demonstrate their displeasure in the Landing, without violence. Rooks or no. The fire was pushing it, but they did not ignite property. Just straw."

Elidal says, "I should sleep though. I wish to greet Aronia myself tomorrow if possible."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Geijon says, "Balance."

Alosaka asks, "Bodohal, sir? The imperial captain who assaulted our town?"

Elidal asks, "You will think on my offer?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Archious.

Speaking to Elidal, Lylia asks, "Have you wrapped that gift?"

Ulfwine says, "They shot Irval."

Elidal says, "I will soon."

Randsford says, "So it is known Sablo can be cruel and rather than find another who would not be we decide to stick with the cruelty. Not like there are not other soldiers willing."

Elidal nods at Lylia.

Irval asks, "What about shooting me in the thrak's trophy room while healing defenders during an attack?"

Dendum asks, "Do you think settlers packed Man O'war in Caravan?"

Elidal says, "I am sorry, but, I should wish to know more about the Captain."

Speaking darkly to Elidal, Wolfloner says, "You are not the first imperial to attempt the Landing. If history is any judge this weill ultimately not go well for you."

Elidal says, "At another night."

Evia says, "So let me write this down, endangering public safety is no crime. Okie..dokie."

Guarrin nods at Elidal.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Very well."

Elidal says, "I also will not begin to dictate how you handle your threats."

Speaking drunkenly to Wolfloner, Gutstorm slurs, "Me got yoo back."

Elidal says, "The Captain is not one of mine."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "He fired on a protectorate."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "That is welcome to know, we'll deal with things then."

Tikba blandly says, "My understanding is that our threats are precisely your business."

Leafiara asks, "So, in other words, take to the seas and do as we see necessary and we'll not have any backlash?"

Tikba asks, "That is what being a protectorate is, is it not?"

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "That is a funny statement considering Gnul is only our threat due to the Empire."

Alosaka says, "We're happy to provide more details at a later date... by which point the affair may be moot."

Tikba says, "I fear we must beg for protection."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "Eii, the Council will consider you words very carefully."

Elidal nods.

Elidal grins at Kayse.

Elidal nods at Archious.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "I would imagine the northern sentinel would not approve of any vessel doing so."'

Kayse evenly says, "I suppose we are on our own then. The Captain could easily become other people's problems."

Elidal looks over at Guarrin and shakes his head.

Elidal says, "If the Captain has been firing on the Landing, we will face him together."

Guarrin says, "Fishing vessels, thus far."

Elidal says, "If you so wish our assistance."

Geijon says, "He was so warned."

Tikba says, "And citizens."

Guarrin shrugs slightly.

Alosaka says, "And sending raiding parties into town."

Irval says, "Like pirates."

Elidal says, "We'll deal with him together then."

Elidal nods.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "It seems we have some options on how to deal with it then."

Elidal says, "Goodnight to you all. We'll meet again tomorrow."

Elidal flashes a wide grin.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We got wanted poshter fer Shablo?"

Speaking to Elidal, Missoni wishes, "Rest well."

Lord Elidal just went north.

Iliyaas' Warning

As Elidal finally departs and heads for the area of the imperial campsite, the form of a silvery-white cloaked woman appears at the edge of the forest and seems to walk slowly towards the gates of Wehnimer's Landing.

Speaking amusedly to Gutstorm, Tikba says, "He already knows what Gnul looks like."

Alosaka says, "Well, that was surprisingly productive."

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]

Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see an inlaid leather grimoire soaring around with its gilt-swept ethereal violet pinions, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake with glossy holly leaves sticking out of her head, an animated flayed gigas disciple, the Elliathe disk, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the web-draped Missoni disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the crab-shaped Rasson disk, the Mirer disk, the Randsford disk, the Guarrin disk, the Geijon disk, the sparking Dendum disk, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, the Kelfyr disk, the Vaemyr disk, the Kiyna disk, the Stormyrain disk, a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox, a lazy wild dark red dog, a bereaved ocean spirit that is flying around, a black-toed saddleback foxhound, a grizzled porcupine, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, a majestic king cheetah and the Wayside inn.

At the edge of the forest, the white-cloaked figure stops and watches the gates.

Speaking to Alosaka, Geijon says, "Mostly."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "Remarkable, I do agree."

Vaemyr says, "Hello there."

Cryheart yells, "Hello, we welcome visitors!"

Speaking to Cryheart, Perigourd says, "Perhaps your wounded routine."

Cryheart limps around a bit, favoring one leg.

Cryheart limps around a bit, favoring one leg.

Missoni gasps, "Oh, Sir Cryheart, you are injured."

Cryheart yells, "Whoever is out there, come inside for warmth!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Rub shum dirt on it."

Leafiara says, "We're... not even inside, ourselves."

Vaemyr asks, "I believe we have been told your name, but we have not been formally introduced. Would you like to speak?"

Peeling away from the embrace of the dark snow-filled woods, the white-cloaked figure steps closer to the gates, but still a far distance from the crowd. Her dark fawn eyes regard everyone slowly.

Iliyaas gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Cryheart yells, "Surely ye be cold!"

Speaking to Iliyaas, Perigourd says, "Fair evening."

>l iliy

You see Iliyaas.

She appears to be a Sylvankind.

She is tall. She appears to be young. She has vacant dark fawn eyes and ghostly white skin. She has long straight, sleek obsidian-hued hair. She has a refined face, a round nose and angular cheekbones. A web of inky black veins stretches along her brow and borders her eyes.

She is in good shape.

She is wearing a citrine-cored faceted emerald pendant, a sigil-etched silvery white longcloak, some flowing white lotus silk robes, some silvered vine armbands, and a pair of engraved black urglaes thumb rings.

Cryheart says, "Good evenin, m'lady."

Iliyaas gazes up into the heavens.

Speaking to Iliyaas, Ulfwine says, ""Be welcome."

Speaking to Iliyaas, Vaemyr says, "Tis good to be cautious, but greetings. I am Vaemyr, and welcome."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Kelfyr says something you don't understand.

Cryheart asks, "Are ye cold?"

Iliyaas says, "The young lord will sleep well tonight, a sound, comfortable sleep."

Cryheart says, "Ahhh."

Speaking to Iliyaas, Missoni says, "I am glad to hear it."

Archious evenly says, "He seemed very proud of himself."

Speaking to Iliyaas, Missoni asks, "And you will, as well, I hope?"

Iliyaas says, "But the future will hold sadness for him, and carve another crack within his heart."

Leafiara considers, "True for most everyone, really."

Lylia replies, "The future holds sadness for us all, and joy. If we are fortunate, they are in roughly equal measure."

Iliyaas holds up one hand, letting a flake of snow fall upon her finger. There it remains, unmelting, unwavering, but still glistening as if brand new.

Irval says, "Ahhh...she maybe right."

Kiyna says, "More of this 'fate' nonsense, I expect."

Speaking to Iliyaas, Thrassus asks, "What's the origin of this sadness, if you can see?"

Iliyaas says, "The eyes of Eorgaen bring a deep storm."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye shum kinna sheer or gypshy?"

Iliyaas says, "Crisp, and cold, a heavy blanket for all."

Irval whispers to the group, "My stones speak of conflict and prophecy."

Iliyaas says, "Fourteen days it will last."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Nairena says, "She is a Oracle or Seer. Yes."

Nazca melodically says, "Ooo something going on here."

Missoni hesitantly says, "Fourteen days..."

Speaking to Nairena, Alosaka says, "Or, you know... just speaks in meter."

Iliyaas exhales, letting the flake of snow drift from her finger and it takes back to the sky, flurrying about before landing nearby.

Elliathe asks, "That is a long storm. Is this literal or... a metaphorical storm?"

Tikba asks, "And what, when the snow melts?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "That... that's not how meter works."

Speaking to Iliyaas, Perigourd asks, "How should we prepare?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat mean lotta shnow to throw."

Iliyaas says, "Do not tell the young lord. Not tonight."

Speaking to Leafiara, Alosaka admits, "I was going to say rhyme but it wasn't appropriate either."

Iliyaas says, "Let him sleep his final good rest."

Speaking tentatively to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "I think you might mean metaphor."

Speaking to Iliyaas, Irval asks, "Who exactly are you my lady?"

Iliyaas says, "Before the burden of his people weighs heavier than the winter's shroud."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Iliyaas, Vaemyr asks something you don't understand.

Speaking offhandedly to Alosaka, Leafiara adds, "And sometimes simile."

Speaking to Iliyaas, Nairena says, "If hes got one last night of good rest, then wont we lose sleep as well."

Iliyaas turns around.

Speaking to Leafiara, Alosaka asks, "Analogy, then?"

Iliyaas walks back into the forest, disappearing into the snow-filled woods.
