Synopsis

Larsya invites people to the outpost war room, where they gather and await her until she bursts through the window and tries to shoot Gutstorm! ...but she misses. She invites everyone to food and drink on the table, saying a feast was a tradition at this time of year to invite the spirits of the Wyrdeep to usher in a peaceful transition from fall to winter.

Envoy Tikba mentions the recent freedom of the Wyrdeep and Larsya says she wished for it for her life and so did generations before her, but now it's here and it's surreal. Larsya tells Magister Raelee they might be trying to fix up a new mage home after Octaven destroyed the last one, and Elidal has been finalizing a report to the Archmagister, from whom he expects word, a declaration, and a hunt for Grand Magister Octaven.

Larsya considers whether it's worth naming the day, which her mother had called the Bourthian Banquet, Frontier Feast Day when held there. Then she talks about how she was fitted for a gown the other evening and asks who would want to go to a stupid coronation in a gown. People ask if Elidal's coronation is scheduled and Larsya say she doesn't think so, but there are rumblings.

Larsya asks if they'll make Elidal marry, and also make her brother Breshon marry since he's been a baron. She thinks the system could be done better than with heirs. After some more merriment and banter, a soldier eventually brings Larsya a scroll that she thinks looks important enough to need to leave and read. She thanks everyone for spending time with her and considers making it a bigger event next year.

Larsya's Summons

[General] Larsya exclaims, "Arggghh!"

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "Merry eve to you, Pirate Lass."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly thinks, "Larsya, me got me boat out, yoo should checkit out."

[General] Rasson exclaims, "Put the boat away, no one wants to see that!"

[General] Loamian thinks, "First of all it is a dinghy."

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "Specially not pirates."

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a large acorn, the Dragauth disk, the Nordred disk, the Darphin disk, a plump orange cat, a silver coin, a dappled ocelot, the Emperia disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild dark grey dog, a skeletal bone white serpent that is sitting, the Churros disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl that is flying around, the Allamaetelmani disk, a thin wafer of crispy elven waybread, a large acorn, a large acorn, the Aradella disk, some manna bread, a large acorn, a large acorn, a silver-traced carved mahogany cart with some stuff on it, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Ziot, Kalikak, Chronicler Falvicar, Dragauth, Lord Nordred, Lord Darphin, Tikba, Stormyrain, Imperatrix Lylia, Saunders who is sitting, Bakarus, Loamian, Emperia, Bathcwyn Missoni, Churros, Magister Raelee, Dohvah who is kneeling, Allamaetelmani who is lying down, Pukk, Journeywoman Aradella

Speaking to Xorus, Bakarus says, "I have been quite good."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I'm glad to see you around."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I missed you."

Speaking to Falvicar, Pukk says, "Okay. I missed you too."

[General] Larsya exclaims, "I'll be along to the Outpost War Room, if ye dare, arggh!"

Speaking in Faendryl to Raelee, Emperia says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Emperia, Raelee agrees, "I do."

A plump orange cat says, "You can feel the longing there."

Speaking to Xorus, Bakarus says, "The retaining fee is not small, but it will be kept."

Stormyrain asks, "Who will be leading the group?"

Leafiara considers, "Interesting place to meet."

Stormyrain says, "The outpost is not my stomping grounds, if you will."

Ziot asks, "Is the snow a bad thing?"

Speaking to Raelee, Missoni asks, "Would you do us the honor?"

Speaking offhandedly to Ziot, Leafiara says, "Depends on your mood and preferences."

Speaking skeptically to Missoni, Raelee asks, "Is it truly an honor?"

Dragauth deeply asks, "Where is the leading to?"

Speaking to Raelee, Missoni says, "Well, it is an expression, but yes."

Speaking to Ziot, Stormyrain says, "Not tonight, the Lady Larysa will be entertaining us."

Stormyrain says, "Larsya."

Raelee vexedly says, "Just be quick about it."

Speaking to Raelee, Tikba says, "It is we who will be honored."

Pukk says, "Raelee..."

Speaking to Pukk, Falvicar says, "You were supposed to wake up Sir Cryheart."

Speaking hurriedly to Pukk, Leafiara exclaims, "Make the call before she dashes off already!"

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join....Raelee"

Speaking to Ziot, Stormyrain says, "If you'd like to meet her, which I highly recommend, you could join the Magister there."

Pukk says, "I'm caught off guard..I was almost speechless."

Speaking playfully to Pukk, Leafiara says, "You, never."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Almost."

Speaking to Pukk, Darphin says, "I believe half of that statement."

[travel]

[Hendoran Outpost, War Room]

The room is bare but for a long conference table and a number of chairs pushed under it while not in use. Situated in the middle of the table is a map of Wehnimer's Landing and nearby environs. Neatly lined up on one side of the map are a set of miniatures depicting Hendoran troops and potential enemies. Near a small window rests an empty gilded birdcage. You also see the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, a long oak table with some stuff on it, a set of large wooden doors and a huge metal-framed slate hanging on a nearby wall.

Speaking to Kiyna, Perigourd says, "No point in putting it back together."

Bakarus whispers something to Thrassus.

Raelee grouses, "It is simply at the top of the stairs."

Kisun says, "Hey all."

[General] Yardie asks, "Is she okay?"

[General] Pukk exclaims, "We missed you Larsya!"

[General] Yardie worriedly thinks, "She sounds like she's in pain."

Speaking to Raelee, Perigourd says, "The library is still rather chilly."

Speaking to Perigourd, Raelee says, "I know."

[General] Pukk exclaims, "She is our local Pirate!"

Bakarus asks, "Which library?"

[General] Leafiara amusedly asks, "Yardie, how do you spend so much time in Kraken's Fall and still not know the sounds of a pirate?"

Speaking to Bakarus, Perigourd says, "The one Octaven turned into a deep freeze."

Speaking ruefully to Pukk, Leafiara says, "Truly hopeless sometimes, that Yardie."

Bakarus says, "Ahh. The other library."

Pukk says, "Spends too much time on the seas."

[General] Directed firmly to Leafiara, Yardie thinks, "Because pirates don't sound like that. Our pirates say things like "Wha gwan, mon." Or they say "Arrr" or "Yarrrr."."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hadda shplit loot wifme crew."

[General] Toxyrox thinks, "Yarrr."

[General] Directed to Yardie, Leafiara thinks, "That latter group of options *is* what she said."

There is a thump outside from the window.

Leafiara recites:

"Everybody join Vaemyr because Raelee doesn't like leading people around!"

[General] Directed to Leafiara, Yardie thinks, "She said Arrrgh. I thought she had some bad food."

Raelee says, "She best not be practicing rapelling again..."

Some loose pebbles fall across the window.

Leafiara enthuses, "But she's so good at it!"

Speaking concernedly to Raelee, Missoni asks, "Does she doe that much?"

Pukk says, "It was odd while it lasted."

Speaking to Raelee, Kiyna says, "I think that's precisely what she's doing."

Tikba amusedly says, "She did last time."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "I think you uhhh may be disapointed."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "I often am."

Speaking to Raelee, Kiyna says, "Good that she practices now so she gets it right when it matters."

Leafiara breathlessly says, "Here comes the dramatic entrance."

Missoni politely says, "I suppose it is her Outpost."

Pukk says, "I think it was Raelee who about 5 or 6 years ago lead a group through the bleaklands and those who died were just left while she pointed out all the magical stuff."

Seasonal Feast

Suddenly, a rope drops into view across the window, and Larsya comes soaring into view, tangled up within the rope as she twists and turns with her body, spinning into the room from the window and then unfurling herself as she tucks into a roll, slinging her bow off from her shoulder and aiming at Gutstorm.

Larsya fires her arrow with a lack of grace that sends it flying wide, missing Gutstorm completely. She pulls her arrow back into her hand, flushing slightly.

Larsya snaps her fingers.

Lylia says, "I have always admired Raelee's sense of priorities, yes."

Thrassus says, "You are improving."

Pukk asks, "You missed?"

Speaking to Pukk, Falvicar says, "You distracted her."

Speaking to Lylia, Raelee says, "... if only more did so."

Speaking to Larsya, Perigourd greets, "Lady Caulfield."

Speaking to Lylia, Pukk says, "I was the one she left."

Leafiara helpfully says, "Agent Gutstorm is a talented and spry one. Few can catch him."

Missoni greets, "Lady Larsya, fair eve."

Speaking to Larsya, Pukk says, "I got a present for you."

Vaemyr says, "Evening Larsya."

Larsya stands up straight.

Leafiara adds, "...and not for lack of trying."

Larsya dusts herself off.

Pukk says, "I thought I did."

Larsya peers quizzically at Pukk.

Larsya asks, "A present?"

Larsya says, "It's not even my birthday."

A pudgy stuffed scarlet owl seemingly floats up out of Pukk's spidersilk backpack and into his waiting hand.

Pukk exclaims, "Aha!"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Loamian says, "So it's true, green ice _is_ lucky."

Pukk offers Larsya a pudgy stuffed scarlet owl.

Larsya twirls a light green wyrwood short bow over her head in a flashy move before slinging it onto her shoulder.

Pukk says, "Now you can have a Owly to watch over you too."

Larsya accepts Pukk's stuffed scarlet owl.

Larsya asks, "I'm more of a wolf girl, but...thanks?"

Larsya smiles.

Larsya put a pudgy stuffed scarlet owl in her white leather cloak.

Pukk nods with satisfaction.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wolf gurl eh?"

Larsya indicates a long oak table as a possible option.

>l on tab

On the oak table:

Food/Drink [30]: a skewer of grilled manticore, a mug of red clover tea, a mug of lemon balm tea, a mug of pumpkin rum, a bowl of meaty dark stew, a caramelized custard tart, a glass of Vornavis chardonnay, a leg of garlic-rosemary turkey, a mug of ginger mead, a fried oatcake, a cup of lemon water, a bowl of chunky potato soup, a cup of Vornavian orange juice, a mug of dark brown Tamzyrr tea, a cup of golden jasmine tea, a mug of hot cinnamon tea, a cup of rich black coffee, a dark-seeded chunk of pomegranate, a mug of ruby red cider, a bowl of kale and bean soup, a glass of dry white wine, a loaf of braided sweet bread, a glass of dark Selanthia merlot, a glass of Chastonia claret, a canteen of pure spring water, a ripe dark red apple, a handful of dried strawberries, a handful of dried blueberries, a grilled ear of corn, a cube of salted ham

Larsya says, "Please, please, have some food and drink."

Larsya says, "My father always insisted this time of year."

Gutstorm raises his pumpkin rum in a toast!

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "To me!"

Speaking to Larsya, Kiyna asks, "It's a fairly absurd amount of food, isn't it? Can you tuck all this away after we all go home?"

Speaking wryly to Kiyna, Tikba says, "There are quite a few soldiers nearby who might be hungry."

Speaking to Kiyna, Pukk says, "You are a halfling...all tables of food look big to you."

Larsya says, "Yes, the soldiers will be eating to."

Larsya nods at Kiyna.

Lylia says, "Most soldiers I have met eat as though each had a hollow leg."

Speaking to Pukk, Kiyna says, "Tables of food sized for halflings... well, halflings always make far too much food, too. Hm."

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "Training takes it out of one."

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "Like pirates."

Speaking to Kiyna, Pukk says, "Too much food for a halfling is a normal amount for the rest of us."

Lylia says, "Yes. Including land pirates."

Larsya says, "He always said my mother would make the most amazing feast during this time, and that it was used to invite the spirits of the Wyrdeep, to help usher in a peaceful transition from fall to winter, and that the land would not suffer long or hard under the weight of the snow and cold."

Falvicar says, "It's a bone to pick.. not a bone pick...."

Speaking to Larsya, Perigourd asks, "Did they come often?"

Larsya asks, "The spirits?"

Larsya shrugs.

Speaking carefully to Larsya, Tikba says, "It must be a strange time for you and your brother, with the new freedom of the elves of the Wyrdeep."

Larsya says, "I don't know if they ever were seen if they did."

Larsya nods at Tikba.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Punkin rump."

Larsya says, "Imagine spending your entire life, and the lives of generations before you fighting and wishing for something, for so long that it was as surreal as the afterlife..."

Larsya says, "And now, it is here."

Tikba nods slowly at Larsya.

Kiyna amusedly says, "Guess it's onto knitting, then."

Speaking to Larsya, Missoni says, "I am awfully glad you could see it come to pass."

Larsya says, "I wish my father had."

Falvicar whispers something to Chandrellia.

Larsya says, "He was wrong about many things, but not that."

Thrassus says, "I just hope the backlash isn't too severe."

Missoni says, "Perhaps he can see it from his place in the forest."

Larsya says, "Perhaps he has come as a spirit tonight."

Larsya shrugs.

Larsya indicates a long oak table as a possible option.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me aint fraida no goatsh."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Falvicar asks, "Care for some... spirit?"

Chandrellia quietly says, "The stars are just thse gone before us, to let us know they are still here."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Thrassus asks, "Goats?"

Speaking drunkenly to Thrassus, Gutstorm slurs, "Undeadsh."

Thrassus asks, "Undead goats?"

[General] Eiroc asks, "Someone looking for me?"

Speaking drunkenly to Thrassus, Gutstorm slurs, "Yoo been drinkin?"

Speaking to Thrassus, Perigourd says, "Goats may not be below Luukos' purview."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Thrassus says, "Not enough, apparently."

Speaking to Perigourd, Kiyna says, "No standards, that one."

Octaven Resolution

Larsya says, "We might be trying to um, fix up a new mage home soon."

Larsya nods at Raelee.

Tikba helpfully suggests, "Laboratory?"

Vaemyr asks, "Oh?"

Larsya says, "The other one is a little chilly still."

Larsya nods.

Lylia says, "The way you say 'mage home' sounds a bit like the way someone might say 'bird cage.'."

Larsya says, "Eli said..."

Larsya coughs.

Speaking drunkenly to Larsya, Gutstorm slurs, "Got eshra room fer shide shtoody fer me? Incase Raelee not round, me kin fill her role ash um, da Outpost Magicpotator."

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "Owly does need somewhere to work."

Larsya says, "Lord Elidal has said mage things are happening."

Speaking to Larsya, Raelee asks, "He finally contacted you regarding that?"

Speaking curiously to Larsya, Missoni asks, "What sort of things?"

Tikba deadpans, "Indeed, many important mage things."

Larsya says, "Some report he's finalizing, some word from a Grand Grand Magister soon, Arch something. I am horrible with big names, no faces."

Larsya says, "And some declaration and a hunt. For...you know who."

Xorus says, "Some birds are kestrels, some mages are Kestrel blue."

Larsya flaps her arms like a bird, then points north.

Speaking to Larsya, Raelee asks, "... Archmagister Naylor?"

Larsya says, "Sure."

Larsya nods at Raelee.

Speaking to Larsya, Perigourd asks, "They're sending Witchhunters then?"

Larsya shrugs at Perigourd.

With a wince, Raelee slowly massages her temple.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ca-caw ca-caw."

Irval frowns.

Thrassus mutters wonderful.

Missoni mutters something about witchhunters.

Larsya says, "If they do, not sure why."

Larsya says, "I could just hunt her myself."

Larsya says, "Well, with all of you too."

Larsya smirks.

Kiyna carefully asks, "...Granted, I don't know anything about these witchhunters, but it sounds like what some people wanted from our imperial neighbors. Some help with an issue we're having. Is that not a good thing?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "When we shet off on da hunt?"

Tikba mildly says, "I suppose she has evaded all of our scrutiny for many years."

Vaemyr says, "We, so far, have been also having a little trouble hunting her to be honest."

Speaking amiably to Kiyna, Leafiara opines, "Seems fine to me!"

Tikba wryly says, "We must simply be clear on which witch to hunt and which to let alone."

Kiyna asks, "At the very mention of them, everyone didn't seem pleased. Rough bunch?"

Missoni says, "I suppose I take issue with the title itself, which rather suggests witches ought to be hunted."

Speaking to Tikba, Bakarus says, "The tea was excellent."

Speaking to Larsya, Raelee says, "At times, consulting those with expertise is the correct course of action."

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "I recall your staff came from some ill-advised witch hunters."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "I seem to have captured you, at the least."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "It was quite a hunt."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Down boy!"

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni says, "Across mountains, even."

Lylia says, "It did. They did not catch the 'witch' which they sought."

A few imperial soldiers arrive and Larsya immediately makes way to the table, where she prepares several plates of grilled manticore, some cubes of salted ham, and some dried strawberries and hands them one by one to the soldiers, who nod and thank her as they head out with their meals.

Lylia says, "Rather, he caught them."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia quotes, "'Fascinating...'."

Irval softly says, "Be back in a moment."

Larsya grins at Loamian.

Larsya says, "I don't know much about witchhunters. Sounds like you all do. They'll send them? I will need more rooms made."

Larsya says, "I miss the sea...."

Larsya gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Larsya smirks.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Got me boat on da dock."

Speaking to Larsya, Chandrellia says, "Well, we have enough here with ships, we could, stow yuo away one night."

Larsya indicates a tiny pirate ship trinket as a possible option.

Thrassus says, "Let's just hope they aren't from Trauntor."

Speaking cheerfully to Larsya, Missoni says, "It is not far. Surely you could make an outing."

Vaemyr says, "Well they might send them, I guess depends on the Arch-Grand-Grand-Magister you mentioned decides heh."

Thrassus says, "The hunters from that province tend to be... overzealous."

Kialeigh says, "I'm ready."

Irval exclaims, "Me too!"

Tikba diplomatically says, "I am sure we will be grateful of any and all help in dealing with Magister Octaven."

Larsya asks, "Should we even call her Magister anymore?"

Chandrellia asks, "Why does she still retain that title after all she has done?"

Lylia says, "It would not be for me to say."

Tikba amusedly confesses, "I am not sure."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat mean dere a vacancy?"

Missoni asks, "Has she been officially relieved of her title?"

Raelee says, "She is a Grand Magister until the Hall revokes the title."

Leafiara agrees, "I don't know enough about the political nuances to answer."

Raelee says, "No one in this room has that authority."

Chandrellia says, "Well, thats their opinon, to me she is just a worm."

Larsya says, "Well, we should come up with a new name for her."

Dragauth deeply says, "Could cut her hear off."

Irval asks, "Think revokin it would draw her out?"

Larsya ponders.

Lylia says, "Sadly, worms can still retain titles, even if they are the lowest of creatures, until someone with sense sees fit to limit them."

Larsya shrugs at Irval.

Larsya says, "I saw her like, twice."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "She look awful lot like Raelee."

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "Doesnt mean I have to acknowledge that title."

Larsya helps herself to a ripe dark red apple.

Larsya takes a bite of her dark red apple.

Speaking offhandedly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "That was Vlashandra."

Speaking to Bakarus, Raelee says, "She does not."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh."

Irval says, "Im amendable to petitioning for it to be revoked, What say you councilor."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me cant kep all da wimun shtraight."

Thrassus says, "Doubtful, she does not seem like she is ego-consumed to the point where revoking her title would enrage her into making obvious mistakes."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Faiyth says, "Yer not drinking enough than."

Speaking to Thrassus, Missoni says, "Her goals certianly seem outside of her work in the Hall, whatever that was supposed to be." You feel more refreshed.

Speaking to Irval, Vaemyr says, "I don't think she cares."

Speaking to Irval, Vaemyr says, "She litterally attacked an imperial outpost, has killed soldiers, all in pursuit of her current goal. Nothing else probably matters to her."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Lylia asks, "You mean to tell me that the petitions of a junior Town Councilor from a frontier hamlet on the far-flung edge of empire does not, in fact, hold enough sway to petition a Grand Magister's title to be revoked!?"

Chandrellia asks, "Might there be a way to capture her bird? I mean, she depnds on that bird for a lot yes?"

Lylia says, "I learn so many things each night."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Arrowsh werk goot."

Tikba mildly says, "If you wish me to draft a message to the Hall of Mages, Councilors, I am happy to do so."

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "A protectorate, in fairness."

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "If it was that easy, the previous council would have done it."

Speaking to Perigourd, Lylia says, "I was leaving that word strictly alone."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "I mean, I don't think revoking the title matters? And that the empire has plenty of justification to do so without us being involved."

Faiyth says, "Best way to draw someone out is with bait."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Thrassus says, "If it is indeed her familiar she can dismiss it with no ill effects."

Lylia says, "It inflames people so."

Irval says, "I think it should and all eyes seem to be on this tiny far flung hamlet as of late."

Speaking to Thrassus, Chandrellia asks, "Do we not hold enough magic in our hands to keep it in one place?"

Lylia slowly says, "It was a jest."

Irval says, "Lylia and if you persist on this course of always being snarky or snide, Next time your enclave comes under attack, you can expect to find less allies willing to defend it."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna asks, "Seriously?"

Chandrellia says, "Wow."

Larsya blinks at Irval.

Perigourd says, "I expect they have means enough to defend their spire, and friends who will heed the call to assist."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia whispers aloud, "Got popcorn, this is gonna be good."

Speaking smoothly to Larsya, Tikba interjects, "In any case, it sounds like it might be as well to prepare for visitors."

Faiyth says, "I guess he believes in politics.."

Speaking drunkenly to Larsya, Gutstorm assures, "It da alchohol talkin."

Faiyth says, "Dumb.."

Speaking amusedly to Chandrellia, Leafiara repeats, "'Gonna'?"

Irval says, "Sure but they will ultimately have less moving forward if she can't keep her attitude in check on these occasions."

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni says, "As a bastion of culture, I hardly think we have cause for concern."

Xorus says, "The Basilica should send an Armata contingent to the Enclave at this point regardless."

Perigourd whispers something to Missoni.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Thrassus says, "It is possible to bar one from entering an area, much like spirits or summoned demons. That might be an avenue."

Speaking passionately to Xorus, Lylia says, "You are so right."

Thrassus says, "That'd be helpful, yes."

Speaking to Thrassus, Chandrellia says, "I think its worth looking into, at least as a possibilty."

Larsya takes a bite of her dark red apple.

Larsya gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Larsya says, "Awkward...."

Speaking to Larsya, Lylia says, "Some people have no sense of humor."

Speaking to Larsya, Vaemyr says, "The food's good."

Larsya agrees with Vaemyr.

Larsya says, "It's okay."

Larsya says, "For landlubbers."

Larsya smirks.

Speaking to Larsya, Lylia says, "At any rate, yes, the food is wonderful, and very welcome. The weather has turned cold."

Larsya says, "Not all spirits are friendly."

Ceremonies

Larsya asks, "What shall we call this day?"

Larsya asks, "Frontier Feast day?"

Thrassus says, "That sounds acceptable."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "How bout Niiman."

Lylia says, "That sounds lovely."

Larsya says, "My mother just called it the Bourthian Banquet, that just won't do here."

Larsya smirks.

Missoni agrees, "I do like alliteration."

Tikba amusedly suggests, "The Darkstone Dinner."

Larsya says, "Oo, Elidal might like that."

Larsya snickers.

Speaking to Larsya, Chandrellia says, "When next you are about I shall brnig you some meats drink from my ship, if you would like."

Faiyth asks, "The Anti-Council association?"

Larsya nods at Chandrellia.

Larsya says, "Aye, aye."

Chandrellia nods at Larsya.

Chandrellia takes a drink from her glass of scotch.

Chandrellia looks rather relaxed.

Speaking to Larsya, Kiyna asks, "How have you been, Dread Pirate?"

Larsya takes a bite of her dark red apple.

Kiyna grins at Larsya.

Pukk exclaims, "Dread Pirate Larsya!"

Pukk says, "It just puts the fear into krolvin everywhere."

Speaking drunkenly to Faiyth, Gutstorm slurs, "Kin ye grab me nudder drink, me reshtin me feetsh."

Larsya says, "There is no little dread pirating going on..."

Larsya says, "I was fitted for a gown the other evening."

Faiyth says, "If you can't reach it you shouldn't drink it.."

Larsya says, "A GOWN."

Larsya's face turns slightly pale.

Speaking to Larsya, Kiyna says, "My condolences."

Speaking to Larsya, Pukk says, "Oh gowns can be fun."

Speaking drunkenly to Loamian, Gutstorm slurs, "Poison?"

Lylia says, "You have my full attention."

Faiyth sarcastically says, "That must have been amazing."

Leafiara tentatively asks, "Special occasion?"

Speaking to Larsya, Missoni says, "Oh, did it have pendant sleeves? I hear they are all over this winter."

Speaking to Larsya, Vaemyr says, "You should get one of those fancy ones that lights of fire or ice."

Larsya asks, "Who wants to go to a stupid coronation in a gown?"

Speaking sympathetically to Larsya, Tikba says, "It is best to have a uniform, to avoid such things."

Larsya chuckles.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Loamian says, "See, safe."

Leafiara understandingly says, "Ahh."

Speaking to Kiyna, Bakarus says, "She is protected by the Arkati, it seems."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me look goot inna gown."

Faiyth asks, "Who wants to hunt in a dress.. who wants to clean fish in a dress?"

Lylia asks, "Why do you dislike them so?"

Missoni excitedly asks, "A coronation?"

Speaking to Bakarus, Kiyna asks, "How do you figure?"

Vaemyr asks, "So I'm guessing Elidal's coronation is scheduled now?"

Lylia says, "People underestimate the freedom of motion you have in a gown."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "They are going to get Larsya married off."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Perigourd says, "Or for Aldora."

Speaking to Kiyna, Bakarus says, "Her aura speaks to that."

Speaking to Kiyna, Bakarus asks, "You are able to see that?"

Gutstorm raises his barrel-shaped stein in a toast and proclaims:

"May the most you could hope for, be the least you get."

Larsya says, "I don't think it's scheduled yet, but, goodness, already rumblings."

Speaking to herself, Missoni whispers aloud, "I must get fitted for a gown."

Tikba mildly says, "I am sure we will all be in attendance."

'Larsya says, "As if we've forgotten there's a world bending mountain, a sick blue boy, raging green fires, and a wild ice woman on the loose."

Speaking to Bakarus, Kiyna says, "That's not what I was referring to, but if she does have Arkati-aura on her, I hope she rids herself of it soon. Menaces, the lot of them."

Larsya says, "But I need to find a dress."

Larsya frowns.

Speaking to Larsya, Vaemyr says, "Honestly I don't think he'd mind if you showed up in full pirate dress."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat wad lasht week."

Larsya says, "Well, that's what he might just get."

Speaking to Larsya, Pukk says, "You know it is just an excuse for them to find you a fiance."

Larsya nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Larsya, Lylia offers, "I am sure there are many of us who would be pleased to help."

Faiyth says, "Just throw a red sash around it and it's pirate wear."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Lylia got lota dreshesheshesh."

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "Armor for all occasions."

Missoni cheerfully says, "Surely we can find something you would be comfortable in."

Lylia says, "Just so."

Speaking to Larsya, Chandrellia exclaims, "I have a pirates sword belt you can use!"

Speaking to Larsya, Thrassus says, "I am sure you could talk a tailor into making a pirate gown."

Leafiara ponders, "They do sell the fanciest pirate skirts at Bloodriven Village..."

Tikba uncertainly asks, "What sort of gowns do pirates wear?"

Xorus says, "If we delayed ceremonies for such things, in these parts, we would always be standing on ceremony."

Speaking to Larsya, Lylia hints, "If you wear something with panniers, you can smuggle all manner of things in them."

Larsya says, "I don't even know what that is."

Speaking vaguely to Tikba, Leafiara says, "They have hidden sheaths built in at strategic locations..."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Isha pannier wot me think it be?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Bakarus says, "It is easy to complain under the blanket offered."

Speaking to Bakarus, Kiyna asks, "Blanket, huh?"

Faiyth asks, "Gowns with lots of ARRR-daments?"

Speaking to Larsya, Missoni says, "It is a very wide underskirt."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Lylia says, "Big hip things."

Speaking to Kiyna, Bakarus says, "Your existance...is indeed not your own."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ooooh."

Speaking to Kiyna, Bakarus asks, "We all agree on this?"

Speaking to Bakarus, Kiyna says, "We don't."

Larsya says, "I may need your help with a gown then."

Lylia nods enthusiastically at Larsya!

Larsya says, "But, we have time. Nothing is happening in the winter. No one wants to dance in snow."

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "If you need anything, or may think I have something that can be of use, please, reach out to me."

Larsya says, "Well, not no one but, many no ones."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Careful Larsya, dey gonna make a girl outta yoo yet!"

Speaking to Larsya, Missoni says, "I think it would be lovely if you attended in wyrsilk, a sort of nod to your home..."

Faiyth says, "Uh.. dat sounds amazing."

Speaking to Kiyna, Bakarus says, "I am but a pilgrim, I resign to a pointless conversation. Forgive the idea."

Lylia coolly says, "I believe 'woman' is the correct term now."

Speaking to Larsya, Vaemyr says, "Lylia managed to get Kiyna into a gown once, so she's pretty much a supreme expert on the manner that is true."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd advises, "Green."

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni agrees, "Green would be delightful."

Speaking quietly to himself, Perigourd says, "Green is always delightful."

Speaking warmly to Vaemyr, Lylia says, "Thank you for that."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Kilt qualify asha halfa gown?"

A soldier arrives, and Larsya prepares a quick plate of grilled corn, and a leg of turkey, and he bows politely and marches out with his food.

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia says, "And you looked magnificent."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "I speak only the truth."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna exclaims, "Of course I did. But still!"

Speaking to Bakarus, Kiyna says, "Pointless, indeed."

Larsya asks, "They are going to make Elidal marry, aren't they?"

Faiyth says, "Poor thing.."

Vaemyr says, "Probably eventually."

Thrassus says, "Likely."

Tikba amusedly says, "A baron must have an heir."

Larsya asks, "My brother too?"

Lylia carefully says, "It is certainly possible."

Irval asks, "Isnt that the way of Nobles? To marry for influence and wealth?"

Speaking to Larsya, Pukk says, "They might make you marry too."

Tikba says, "Your brother has an heir."

Tikba says, "But he might want another."

Speaking to Larsya, Kiyna says, "Just another terrible custom. Sorry you have to be party to it."

Larsya says, "Oh. Me."

[General] Firela thinks, "Looking for a bit of elemental edge on a weapon please."

Speaking to Larsya, Perigourd says, "Succession is typically important to maintain order."

Larsya says, "Yeah he should marry and make lots of babies."

Lylia says, "When nobility relies on familial bonds and dynastic rule, this is often the way of it."

Larsya says, "My brother, that is."

Emperia says, "I can sympathize with him for that, at least..."

Kialeigh says, "He can always run away."

Pukk says, "Babies are evil."

Kialeigh says, "Sometimes that's preferrable to marriage."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Not all baby are evil."

Speaking to Larsya, Lylia suggests, "This is why you play the game and, when you gain enough power, upend the board. Abolish dynastic rule."

Larsya says, "Lots of little Baron babies to shield me."

Larsya chuckles.

Larsya asks, "We can do that?"

Larsya peers quizzically at Lylia.

Lylia firmly says, "Yes."

Tikba amusedly says, "In some places there are even no barons at all."

Tikba says, "But, for today, selecting a baron by qualification, rather than by birth, might be a start."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "Would that this were one of them."

Larsya says, "Can't they just be like, huzzah, I name thee heir, is hath been doneth."

Perigourd says, "Historically, that proved to be a bit worse."

Thrassus says, "There's likely proceedings for something like that."

Speaking to Larsya, Tikba says, "They can be like that."

Larsya says, "I mean, I feel like it could work better."

Tikba says, "But I fear they often choose not to be."

Speaking to Tikba, Raelee says, "It would be driven by politcs and want for power."

Pukk says, "All babies are summoned evil. It's only after a long fight and a lot of blood can the cleric and healer exorcise the evil from the baby. Otherwise we get something like Xorus."

Speaking to Larsya, Perigourd says, "Perhaps now without the edict, it bears more merit."

Speaking mildly to Raelee, Tikba asks, "Do you find that aristocrats are not driven by politics and want for power?"

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia says, "Oh, dear. I shall not say anything more on that topic."

Speaking to Tikba, Raelee says, "Most are."

Xorus says, "That would be assuming Xorus is not the evil being exorcised from the baby."

Larsya says, "I know this boy once in Bourth, he was kind of clever. Face like a gnarled log, but clever and nice enough. Imagine he was a Baron, and if he died, his brother, oh sweet Kai, he didn't look like a log, but he was as dumb as one, and should he be a new baron? No no no."

Vaemyr says, "You have kinda found the issue with heriditary rule in a nutshell."

Faiyth asks, "Who needs a baron anyway?"

Speaking amusedly to Larsya, Tikba says, "Beautifully put, Larsya."

Xorus says, "This is what fortuitously timed accidents and rival claims from more distant relatives are for."

Lylia says, "This is the trouble with dynastic rule, as I have witnessed it. You are very fortunate that you do not have to marry a man who is the product of so many married cousins and sisters that he could shovel soil with his lower jaw without having to kneel..."

Faiyth says, "When in doubt, drink more."

Vaemyr says, "There are many other problems, like if an heir can just be named, then people will fight over succession a lot more, in the end it somewhat could end in civil war."

Perigourd says, "The Empire, strictly speaking, has not always gone by hereditary claim."

Thrassus says, "Or just turning your back on the whole mess and moving out into the wilderness."

Lylia says, "But just to be an advocate of opposition, there is something to be said for the stability of it."

Larsya shrugs.

Tikba mildly says, "Perhaps, when a baron dies, we should wait until a new one is clearly needed before choosing one, to avoid that instability."

Vaemyr says, "It is best that these things happen over time, rather than just declared."

Lylia says, "Just so. If you know that that fellow who is as dumb as a gnarled log, even though he does not look like one, is going to be the new baron? Well, then you plan to surround him with capable counsel."

Chandrellia says, "Do excuse me a moment."

Faiyth says, "Or just throw them all in an arena and make them fight it out."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "The lack of a Northern Sentinel is a primary reason for Hochstib being unchecked to assault the Landing years ago."

Lylia confesses, "I am still getting used to this concept of open elections. Remains to be seen if that will work over the long term."

Larsya says, "It's fine, it's fine. You can all come live on my island one day, when the Dread Pirate claims the Western Sea, and where rulers are determined by successful doging of my bow."

Larsya indicates a light green wyrwood short bow as a possible option.

Larsya smirks.

Speaking to Larsya, Tikba asks, "Gutstorm, then?"

Xorus says, "Indeed. Hochstib's wars were used as an excuse by the Empress to keep the Northern Sentinel vacant."

Speaking lightly to Larsya, Lylia says, "Then I shall work on learning to duck."

Leafiara says, "Larsya and Gutstorm? This already sounds like the most competently ruled land I've heard of."

Larsya says, "Elections also seem scary, sorry, no offense councilors. Or envoy people."

Faiyth asks, "Did you bring us something to be fankful fer?"

Chandrellia says, "I'll just be there to heal the ones that cant duck."

Tikba agrees, "They are scary."

Lylia agrees, "Elections are terrifying in their way."

Citan deeply exclaims, "I have brought Titan's Brew!"

Speaking to Larsya, Kiyna says, "I'm great at dodging. I'm sure I'll be King in a matter of days."

Thrassus says, "That method has its own flaws."

Speaking to Larsya, Vaemyr says, "Elections have plenty of issues themselves, but they are certainly one way of choosing leaders certainly."

Kialeigh says, "Thanks! I collect these."

Larsya says, "Crowds can be so tricky, and people can wander in the fog, but if they're not alone doing it, they won't try to find a way out."

Lylia says, "They certainly are."

Citan deeply says, "Indeed."

Speaking to his strong stout, Irval says, "So good."

Tikba says, "In my home we simply agreed amongst ourselves how the village should be run, without the need for ballots."

Tikba mildly says, "It seemed to work well enough."

Citan deeply says, "Titan's Brew is an amazing brew."

Speaking to Larsya, Thrassus says, "Apt point."

Speaking carefully to Tikba, Missoni asks, "Everyone agreed?"

Speaking to Tikba, Loamian asks, "How many of you were there?"

Speaking to Larsya, Lylia says, "Perspicacious young woman, you are."

Speaking to Tikba, Raelee says, "It would not work here. Agreement on much of anything is rare."

Larsya says, "That's a mighty big word ma'am."

Larsya says, "So um, sure."

Larsya snickers.

Speaking amusedly to Missoni, Tikba says, "Sometimes we agreed to disagree. Many jobs always need doing."

Larsya asks, "Perspicacious...is that Faendryl for?"

Larsya chuckles.

Larsya winks.

Lylia laughs!

Tikba says, "But we all live together, and we all know what must be done."

Speaking pedantically to Larsya, Raelee says, "It is common. It means you possess insight and understanding."

Lylia says, "It is Common for 'you said something I shall be up late tonight pondering.'."

Larsya says, "Well, I will certainly accept that."

Larsya says, "Arggh."

Larsya winks.

Speaking thoughtfully to Loamian, Tikba says, "I am not sure how many, now. There were few enough when we came through the portal."

Larsya says, "I guess the four books in this place paid off."

Larsya chuckles.

Lylia says, "It does seem that is the way of elections, at times. If all are lost in a group, no one seeks a path out."

Bakarus whispers something to Xorus.

Speaking pointedly to Larsya, Raelee counters, "There are two libraries."

Larsya says, "Even if every cover reads, "Don't touch. - Raelee."."

Larsya snickers.

Lylia muses, "Perhaps it is more a matter of the right sort of leadership at the right time..."

Larsya winks at Raelee.

Raelee squints at Larsya.

Larsya exclaims, "A joke Magister!"

Larsya smiles.

Speaking to Larsya, Raelee says, "... I should make it reality."

Speaking to Raelee, Kiyna says, "That just makes me want to touch them more."

Speaking carefully to Lylia, Tikba agrees, "People must be ready to do what must be done, when it must be done."

Speaking to Tikba, Lylia says, "I could not agree more."

Tikba says, "Perhaps the election was merely a way of choosing who would be best ready."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "You'd need to make it on some external book covers though, wouldn't wanna write directly on most tomes."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "I will respect the integrity of the volumes."

Another soldier arrives, and Larsya works to prepare him a plate, and when she goes to offer it he shakes his head and thanks her anyway. Instead, he reaches into his coat and produces a tightly rolled scroll, stamped with two wax crests. One depicts a blue phoenix on a field of silver, the second larger one is of a crimson sunburst on a field of gold. The soldier hands it to Larsya, then grabs an apple, and marches out of sight.

Xorus says, "Those look serious."

Larsya says, "Oh my, this one seems important."

Citan deeply says, "Apples must be tasty."

Missoni murmurs, "The Emperor's seal."

Larsya says, "Double stamp."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "And Hendor."

Tikba carefully asks, "What does it say?"

Speaking to Lylia, Bakarus says, "Indeed."

Kiyna asks, "From the big guy himself, huh? Or just his stamp?"

Pukk says, "Yep, your pirating days are over. They are going to marry you off."

Larsya says, "Which I think is the maximum seals allowed on imperial scrolls, since rumor has it you can't triple stamp a double stamp."

Pukk says, "It's official."

Larsya says, "I read that in one of those books."

Speaking to Larsya, Vaemyr says, "Well now we're all curious about what that scroll says I think."

Faiyth says, "Doesn't stop one from trying."

Speaking to Larsya, Thrassus says, "Cuts down on clutter I suppose."

Speaking to Larsya, Chandrellia says, "I brought you some food from my ship, thought you would enjoy it a tad more then what is served here."

Larsya says, "Me too."

Larsya nods at Vaemyr.

Chandrellia offers Larsya a small cup of hard apple cider.

Larsya says, "I should go give it a proper reading."

Larsya accepts Chandrellia's hard apple cider.

Chandrellia offers Larsya a piece of cured porkbelly.

Larsya bows to Chandrellia.

Larsya accepts Chandrellia's cured porkbelly.

Larsya says, "Well, thanks for spending sometime on my mother's fondest day. The Frontier Feast Day."

Larsya says, "Perhaps we should make it a real something next year, something worth everyone coming too."

Larsya shrugs.

Tikba sincerely says, "It was a pleasure to see you, Larsya."

Larsya waves.

Speaking to Larsya, Perigourd says, "It's been an enjoyable evening as it was."

Faiyth says, "We could invite the Reiver's."

Speaking to Larsya, Loamian says, "To Frontier Feast Day."

Leafiara amiably exclaims, "Always a delight!"

Speaking to Larsya, Missoni wishes, "Fair eve."

Lylia says, "I would like that -- but for what it is worth, I feel this was very worth attending too."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat not Faireve."

Larsya says, "Goodnight everyone. Be safe, enjoy your days and nights. Let's hope the spirits have come to usher in a light and burdenless winter."

Larsya says, "..and um...argh."

Larsya winks.

Speaking to Larsya, Chandrellia says, "May your seas be calm, and the wind guide you on your path."

Larsya glances out at the window and the dangling rope.

Larsya glances at a set of large wooden doors.

Larsya sighs.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Take da rope."

Speaking to Larsya, Lylia says, "It is good to see you. And good to see you well."

Larsya sets about preparing herself to be as presentable as possible.

Faiyth says, "It's more piratey."

Larsya reaches out and takes Gutstorm's hand, shaking it vigorously. Suddenly a loud *bzzzzzzzzzt* emanates from their clasped hands! Gutstorm's arm vibrates wildly, causing him to jump and his eyes to grow wide!

Lady Larsya just went through a set of large wooden doors.
