Description

You see Viredece the Priestess of the Order of Luukos.
She appears to be a Dark Elf.
She is tall and gaunt, and her features are hidden by a silver-scaled mask and heavy bourde cowl.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a glimmering emerald serpent in her left hand.
She is wearing an alligator skin choker set with a vivid emerald, some flowing sable matte silk robes, and a pair of black silk rope sandals twisted across the top of her feet in floral loops.

Ceremony

Viredece beckons to you and BRIDE, then turns and leads you front and center, not once checking to see if you follow.

Upon reaching the desired area, Viredece turns and raises her arms, and the glimmering serpent she wears twines around her body, stretching all the way from the end of one arm to the other, twisting around her. The sound of hissing begins to echo in the room, softly at first, but rising steadily in volume.

Viredece's flat voice cuts across the hissing and seems to come from all sides at once. "We are assembled to witness the joining of GROOM and BRIDE, to watch as they join their houses in an attempt to form a stronger whole with which to apostolate. This marriage will be a bond upon which an alliance can be created."

The serpent wrapped around Viredece's body unfurls itself and stretches toward you, the gleaming emerald head coming extremely close to you. A low hiss and strange rattle is heard, and Viredece intones, "GROOM, do you wish to make an allegiance through this marriage?" The voice, hissing, and rattle all end at the same time, leaving a silence that seems to almost echo in its wake.

Abruptly, the beast turns and twines back around Viredece, but only for a short moment. This time, the serpent unfurls itself and stretches toward BRIDE, the gleaming emerald head coming extremely close to her. A low hiss and strange rattle is heard, and Viredece intones, "BRIDE, do you wish to make an allegiance through this marriage?" The voice, hissing, and rattle all end at the same time, leaving a silence that seems to almost echo in its wake.
Success
Viredece takes a smooth step forward and lowers her arms to point at both of you. The scintillating emerald snake slithers forward off of her right hand to coil around BRIDE, and then extends to also entwine you, leaving the cleric's body entirely. She slaps her palms together suddenly, and the scaled creature constricts, forcing the two of you together. The hissing within the area rises to a crescendo.

Viredece's voice returns, this time not so much rising over the hissing as forming from it. "As you are embraced together within these coils, so too is your soul, held tightly together by The Serpent God's ever-tightening grasp. As before you were two, now you are one, and the failure of one is the failure of the other."

The long serpent wrapped around the two of you tightens even more and slides over you quickly, wrapping in and around each of you, continually moving. Viredece continues, "The Lord of Lies knows what is in your hearts, never forget that. Let this knowledge fuel you to bring sustenance to his ravenous maw. Go forth now together on your unholy quest."

Viredece parts her hands and holds them out, palms up. The hissing begins to subside as the vivid serpent extracts itself from you and BRIDE, once again wrapping around the priestess. She steps back, one slim hand gently stroking the triangular head of the large snake, and leaves. The hissing fades to no more than a whisper, then disappears completely.
Rejection
The serpent on the priestess writhes slowly as she announces, "There appears to be some concern about the Soul Eater. If this coupling has been found to be imprudent, then it is best we not waste the Great Lord's time." With that, Viredece steps away and returns her attention to the coiling serpent wrapped around her body, clearly dismissing you as she turns and leaves.
