Misted Serenity

Misted Serenity is a private property located above the tobacco shop Gentlemen's Leaf in Ta'Illistim.

This property was auctioned off during Duskruin in February 2022. It is owned by the Ilyan Syndicate and used as a social club. It is a permanent property with no monthly rent that includes a node, an ice cream churn, a functional doorbell and a custom blend of tea.

Location

[Misted Serenity, Landing]
Dark grey carpeting woven with a swirling crimson design rests on the floor in front of the wide landing. A small ivory button is recessed into the wall next to a polished ironwood door. Resting to one side is a miniature orange tree heavy with ripe fruit. Carved with beautiful scrollwork, a narrow ironwood staircase leads back down through some tapestries to the shop below.

Some ripe oranges peek from beneath thick greenery that covers the branches of the tree.

You push the button vigorously, and you hear a bell ring somewhere inside.

Doorbell inside

You hear the gentle ringing of a bell, followed by a soft whisper, "Master Atorak is ringing for entry."

Main Room

[Misted Serenity, Den]
Dark, irregular paneling covers the walls of the large room. Masterfully crafted, a live-edge mahogany table rests in the center of velvet cushioned armchairs that face away from a polished ironwood door to focus on a large riverstone fireplace. Thick, dark grey carpeting swirled with bits of crimson covers the spacious area. A wicker basket of sticks sits under a felt-covered dart board with a polished linden rack hanging nearby.

Crafted from smooth riverstones, the surface of the fireplace is flecked with bits of milky quartz. The opening is outlined with carved roses that travel up either side of the hearth. Set into the stone above is a rough-cut mahogany mantle.

Kitchen

[Misted Serenity, Kitchen]
Cast iron cookware hangs from a circular rack fixed above a large island topped with ironwood. Sunlight streams through a wide arched window covering fragrant herbs growing in a tin-inset wooden windowbox in a warm glow. A leaf-embossed copper sink is set into a marble-topped counter, a large ceramic pot resting nearby. Tucked into the far corner, opposite a carved wooden ice chest, is a small iron cookstove with an enamelled top plate.

Deep indents and scarring can be seen on the ironwood surface of the island. Several pots and pans are stacked in a corner, while a set of sharp kitchen knives are laid out, ready for use.

[Ta'Illistim, Kaerinar Wey]

The wavery glass windows of a small building are tinged a pale brown, each sill coated with a sticky film. Next to the arched doorway a plaque is inset, along with a metallic leaf. The shop's blue-tiled roof is pierced by two small smokestacks. You also see an enameled silver signpost.

A pattern of herbal leaves has been embossed into the front of the copper sink. A small steel handpump is affixed to the side ready to send water into the basin.

Glazed with intricate swirls of copper and jade green enameling, the tea kettle has an arching cherrywood handle.

Study

[Misted Serenity, Study]
Shelves of books, parchment, tomes, and volumes line the walls of the small study. Nestled into one corner is a dark mahogany writing desk with a cushioned mahogany chair placed behind it. A thick, midnight blue carpet swirled with bits of pale grey covers the floor. Tucked between two bookcases is a beveled glass door with frosted panes that leads out to a small balcony. Trays of colorful bottles fill the surface of a small brass-trimmed bar that rests to one side.

Mother-of-pearl inlay accents the top of this beautiful writing desk. Resting to one side is a small iron lamp. The surface is worn in several places with tiny nicks and scratches giving testimony to its constant use.

Balcony

[Misted Serenity, Balcony]
Carved ironwood posts create a railing that sections off a spacious balcony. A small mahogany table rests next to a woven cotton hammock that stretches between two posts set at either side of the area. Tucked next to a beveled glass door is a rhimar-lined oak churn. Attached to the fence are a series of rattan hanging baskets filled with fragrant blossoms. Suspended from one of the supports is a polished silver wind chime that shimmers as moonlight reflects off of the metal tubing.

Daytime: Crafted of woven rattan, a variety of blooming protea, passionflower, and crimson ginger blossom are nestled among a thick nest of greenery.

Nighttime: Crafted of woven rattan, a variety of blooming orchid, moonflower, and jasmine are nestled among a thick nest of greenery.

Bedroom

Irregular, warm wooden paneling lines the back wall of this spacious chamber, while dark blue accents the surrounding enclosure. Thick, grey carpeting covers the floor about a large platform centered in the room supporting a huge iron-framed bed. An ironwood wardrobe stands against one wall illuminated by moonlight from the large sunroof above. Tucked back behind a vellum partition is a mirror that hangs above a pale grey stone basin. Beeswax candles set in iron stands of various heights are placed about the area

Elevated by a dark wooden platform, this huge bed is supported by a thick, iron frame. A midnight blue comforter accented by pale grey motes covers the thick mattress.

Flecks of crimson swirl through the panels of glaes that accent the large ironwood wardrobe. Thick whorls are carved down either side of the tall doors. Dark, metal handles blend in with the coloring and design.

Ready when needed, several pale linen towels sit to the side of the water basin while several wash cloths are draped over the edge. The pale grey stone is streaked with darker veins of coloring.

A crystal vase of incense is lit, sending wisps of bergamot, cedar, and basil-scented smoke through the air.

Erithi Incense for General and Funeral Usages

This incense is set for general usage.

The incense is a permanent item here. You can LIGHT or EXTINGUISH it, POKE to cycle through available scents, and WAVE, PRAY, and GAZE at it. If this is in a player-owned area, there may be opportunities to add scents (up to 7) under normal property improvement processes.

Scent Setup:

These should be real scents (ocean breeze, zesty lemon, cinnamon) and NOT ideas (tears of my enemies). You can combine a few scents, but it must work with phrases like "the scent of (insert scent here) or "(scent)-scented smoke." Example: some smoke smelling of zesty lemon and rotting fish OR the zesty lemon and rotting fish-scented smoke. Any more than 3 would get too unwieldy, and the person performing the service has final say.
