Loresong

As you begin your song, a pale fog rolls in, clouding your vision.

Seemingly lost in the thick mist, a pinpoint of light appears in the distance, drawing ever nearer. The light encircles you, revealing itself as the symbols of the Liabo Arkati. The ring spins faster and faster, until it is nothing more than a brilliant glowing blur, when suddenly there is a thunderous flash...

A wild and desolate land spreads as far as the eye can see. Hordes of undead and other vile creatures spill from the distant mountains, wreaking havoc on small villages and the helpless people therein. The blare of a horn sounds, and a group of armor clad men wage battle against the onslaught, their ranks led by an imposing giantman. Although they labor valiantly against the creatures, many of them fall lifeless to the unforgiving ground. As the undead beasts withdraw, the giantman sinks to his knees in despair, surrounded by his fallen men.The vision fades to a close with a mere echo of a scream filled with utter grief.

A melodious hum fills your ears as the glowing circle surrounds you once again. The light pulses three times before the world goes dark.

Crackling camp fires illuminate a desolate group of men tending to the scars of battle. Their giantman leader hunches over, his mind deep in thought as he polishes his blade. The surrounding woods grow utterly still until suddenly the fires flare brilliantly. Within the burning, pure-white flames is a man clad in black chainmail, his eyes staring grimly over the camp. The great spirit Voln steps towards the stunned men and offers his assistance in their battle against the undead. The giantman leader accepts Voln's benevolence and the men around him pick up their battered gear, the resolve in their eyes burning as bright as the fires around them.

The years pass by like seconds and quickly fades into nothingness.

The glowing ring spins once more, but stops suddenly as a luminous white shield surrounded by a field of black dominates your vision.

You find yourself amidst a fearsome battle between the giantmen and the undead, blood and ichor flying through the air as blade meets rotted flesh. The men fight with fluid precision, their techniques honed by the years of training they've received. In mere minutes, the men have made short work of the undead threat. The scene fades away as they turn from the battlefield and head back...

The faint smiles of triumph on the warrior's faces are the last thing you see before the vision comes to a close.

Your vision shifts to a sprawling manor, where the group of celebrating men erect a statue of the paladin that helped them - the immortal spirit Voln. As the festivities continue, a flash of pale white light appears before the statue, and the bearer of its image steps forth, nodding appreciatively. The men kneel before the spirit, pledging to continue the battle against the unnatural horrors of the undead in his name. They each raise a small white shield amulet high above their heads as the cheers rise up into the night...

Roaring cheers echo in your ears, filling you with pride and purpose. The feeling lingers even as your song ends.
