Subject: Koar's Temple Opens its Doors
After being closed for many years, the Fane of the God-King has opened in Solhaven. All are bid welcome to the Temple, which is Solhaven's largest place of worship.
It should be noted that there are two unusual aspects to the Koar Temple:
1) The entry arch strips those who approach of all their spells.
2) Upon entrance to the prayer plaza, your eyes will be drawn to the dais. Everyone within the plaza can see actions occurring on the dais. If you wish to hold a religious ceremony, worshipers can see what you are doing from anywhere within the plaza or the 'highwalk.'
Enjoy!

To forestall any potential issues, I'd just like to mention the reasoning behind the spell-strip portal at the entrance of Koar's Temple.
As you'll note, the portal does remove spells, and will restore mana accordingly if the spells were recently cast. This was the best way to facilitate the use of the scripts that control the dais and your ability to see religious services taking place upon it. The Altar of Crowns is the complete opposite of a private area--any actions you take there will be broadcast to most of the temple.
If you do note issues with the Temple, please BUG them and/or send an e-mail to me at gs4-auchand@play.net. I'll be watching my in-box and fixing things frequently.
Thanks!

>I can understand the need for the spell stripping, but I've a feeling that's still going to rub some folks the wrong way, if that's the ONLY way into the temple. Is there a part of the temple that isn't subject to the spell-melting?
Unfortunately, the bulk of the Temple is the area controlled by the dais. There is an altar outside for people who'd like to worship Koar, but would rather not deal with losing their spells. We did roll around ways to avoid the spell-stripping, but believe me when I say this was the only way to get the temple released in any timely fashion.
I'm looking for a better solution, now that the temple has been released.
I am also way proud of the dais and how it turned out. You can heap some big thanks on GM Modrian for perfecting the dais scripts, and GMs Oscuro and Lusus for making some minor tweaks to the entry portal script that made it a lot more forgiving.
