The Kharam Dzu 120th Anniversary Celebration was held the 1-4 of Lumnia, 5117 (June 1-4, 2017).
Schedule
- Provided by GM Liia
- Thursday, 6/1 - Festival opens around 9pm ET. Watch for realm-wide messaging signaling the fun and dramatic arrival of town favorites to kick things off! Refreshment and a souvenir will be available. After the opening announcements, we'll be taking anyone who is interested on a tour of the Stormbrow Gallery. Gift shop will be open!
- Friday, 6/2 - Join us in the museum's newly renovated party area for dance lessons, with or without a partner! If you haven't received a citizen's pin in the past, this will be a chance to get one.
- Sunday, 6/4 - Join us once again in the Stormbrow Gallery for a night of dancing and dining. Schmooze with town dignitaries. Find out who what new Terasian verbs will be available! Wear your finest garb here (check out the cultural accessories in the gift shop if you haven't before!) and prepare for stimulating conversation (though, with dwarves, that could mean anything) and who knows what else might happen!
On top of this, the drinking game will be open 'round the clock during the event, as will a few shops in the NE part of Kharam Dzu. Merchants will be visiting during the event, so watch for announcements!
Opening Ceremony
The following were present at the spectacular opening ceremony: Futtilo, Eldalina, Danialle, Lord Gesaril, Deza, Master Elementz, Aubriella, Hoy, Aaysia, Salarus, Azerik, Lord Realk, Rasko, Roiken, Lady Ferliev, Commander Roblar, Sorrenn, Prince Voregrek, Lady Soom, Dannia, Relic Hunter Silversoft, Vayek, Mistress Foxs, Mistress Luadilu, Lord Nordred, Regnarohk, Mister Beldannon, Great Lord Pendowilt, Bremerial, Fleurs, Frorin, Tyvorheas, Keilani, Relic Hunter Harkel, Jurist of Claw Sentral
The ceremony began with a balloon descending slowly over the canyon at Cobblestone Road. The people massed in anticipation watched as Prince Voregrek and Eldalina, the Town Liaison, climbed from the basket and greeted the crowd. Prince Voregrek and Eldalina began by recounting the history of the original balloon's construction and landing on Teras 120 years before, with Ghorsa Borthuum at the helm.
After several toasts, Eldalina led the group to the Stormbrow Museum. The Curator of the museum, Beela, escorted the group through the museum, proudly revealing artifacts and newly developed areas. The tour's highlight was without doubt the view of the most remarkable and unique Nelemar Room, accessed via the Children's Room. The end of the tour involved an examination of the Gift Shop and the presentation of citizens pins in the large Garden Pavilion established outside the museum.
A more detailed summary of the opening ceremony can be found on Bremerial's GS IV Webpage
Garden Pavilion
The Garden Pavilion is located at Glaes and Dragonstail, just outside the Stormbrow Gallery, and hosts the drinking game and a grand banquet of food. It will be a meeting place during the festival.
[Garden Pavilion, Meets] | |
Daylight filters in through the thin canvas of this large, festive tent. Pieces of bright, multicolored cloth festoon the room from the peak to each corner. Most of the area is wide open, allowing for a large gathering. A tall glaes-framed mirror stands off to one side of a particolored flap. | |
Obvious exits: southeast, southwest |
[Garden Pavilion, Eats] | |
Several torches light the room with bright, flickering light. Beneath a brightly inked banner, decorated tables hold a variety of cuisine from the many towns of Elanthia. Chairs are arranged in clusters around the room, offering places to rest and socialize. You also see a jar of Mad Krolvin liqueur, a romaine and shallot-strewn salad sprinkled with olive slices and blue-veined cheese, a keg of Teras Anniversary stout, a keg of Teras Anniversary ale and a keg of Teras Anniversary beer. | |
Obvious exits: northeast, east |
- You see some colorfully decorated tables. Each table bears a placard with the name of its represented town. Looking at the tables, you see a River's Rest table, a Teras Isle table, a Zul Logoth table, an Icemule Trace table, a Ta'Illistim table, a Ta'Vaalor table and a Wehnimer's Landing table.
[Garden Pavilion, Drinks] | |
A stained counter stands at the back of the tent, surrounded by a few stools. A large sign, painted in bold, red letters, hangs behind a heavy wooden table. A voluptuous dwarven barmaid mills about the room, overseeing the activities. | |
Obvious exits: west, northwest |
---------------------------------------------------------------- | ** Last Man Standing ** | | | | The object of this drinking game is to be the last person | | sitting at the table. | | | | This game requires at least 2 people to play, | | but no more than 10. | | | | Buy-in for this game is either 2000, 10000 or 50000 coins. | | | | Winner gets 75% of total pot, less 25% for drinks and tips. | | | | The rules: | | | | Once the game starts, each player will be poured a shot of | | alcohol. Each player will be required to drink his | | or her shot to continue. | | | | Failure to drink, passing out drunk and leaving the | | table for any reason will be cause for losing the game. | | | | The bartender will call out the rounds and refill the shots, | | until there is only one person left. | | | | If by chance all players passout or quit before a winner is | | announced, the bartender wins the pot. | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------

[Hot Air Balloon, Basket] | |
This unusually spacious basket has been constructed out of woven wicker. A partition segregates the centrally positioned fueling mechanism from the rest of the space, where the passengers and supplies would be carried. Above, a huge, spherical balloon envelope is visible, attached to the sides of the basket by spun metal threads. A large crystal ice bucket sits in one corner, the top of a bottle peeking out. A rope ladder has been slung over the side, serving as a relatively easy exit from the basket. | |

Shops
The Stormbrow Gift Shop opened during the festival and is a permanent shop. Its inventory is not listed here.
Glaes and Dragonstail
[Glaes and Dragonstail] | |
The tunnel turns here, as Glaes and Dragonstail meet. One building stands out, a large, black granite structure. A staircase of grey and white marble leads up to the mithril gates, which are flanked by a pair of stone manticores. The dwarves who amble in and out look to be prosperous sorts. You also see a narrow dark walnut cart framed in delicate bronze nautilus shells with some stuff on it, a silk-covered mahogany barrow with some stuff on it and a large garden pavilion. | |

Greyvalen Goods
an ebon-chased pale grey ash wagon, Lich #1947, go pale wagon
[Greyvalen Goods] | |
The enclosing walls of the wagon are crafted of pale grey ash overlaid with a coat of lacquer with a matte finish, the effect softening the already subtle whorls of the woodgrain. Mounted on the side wall is a small glass-doored cabinet, and directly beneath it is a set of square pegs. On the opposite wall is a slender featureless mannequin that gazes sightlessly toward the glaes-windowed door, its back turned to the rear space of the wagon, which is roped off to bar further access. Near the door, a black metal display shelf is bracketed to the wall. |
Welcome to Greyvalen Goods. Here you will find an assortment of goods to keep those who walk the darker paths well supplied. The clear vial in the cabinet is poison, and the white vial is the antidote. Also, the pouch contains spheres that can conceal you from view when thrown. The sheaths on the pegs are easily hidden beneath clothing, and the wrist cuff and gloves on the mannequin are bespelled with trap and lock lores respectively. The lockpicks and pouch are exactly what they seem to be.

The walls of the wagon have been painted in homage to a bright spring day, with green trees leafing out toward the ceiling and pastel flowers blooming beneath. The floor underfoot is colored and textured to appear as grass. On one side of the wagon, an ivory female mannequin and a green male mannequin are settled beneath the verdant overhang of a river willow with a picnic blanket beneath them.
