Sai Hairsticks

Sai Hairsticks are temporary feature-changing items with set hairstyle types, which debuted at Ebon Gate 2009, created by GM Xynwen for the EG 2009 Auction (the original 2 sets auctioned off have a custom loresong telling the story of The Jade Heart and the Blue Lotus). They later reappeared at A Midsummer Night's Festival 2018 in the shop Carry a Big Stick. They are similar to hairsticks (non-weapon, cosmetic), hair combs, hairjewels, hair flowers, and snoods, but differ in that they can be SLAPped to make a pair of sai, which are brawling weapons. Note, sai are not compatible with the unarmed combat system. These are erithian hairsticks. 2023 Updates: These were updated in 2023 and going forward, they may be released with small, bladed weapons other than sai. Carry A Big Stick Info: All the hairsticks split into a pair of 4x enchanted sai, except for the faenor (+16), imflass (+17), and vaalorn (+18). Per the merchant Twigxt, each can be enchanted and weighted separately, but not in the combined hairsticks form. These hairsticks and sai are sold as-is and cannot be altered by any merchant. Hairsticks When worn and PUSHed, the hairsticks cycle through seven different hairstyles. Alternatively, TURN # MY HAIRSTICK will allow the player to select a hairstyle by number. Erithians get extra flavor with TAP. Verb First Third PUSH (worn) You catch up your <hair>, pulling it into a soft roll and deftly securing it with your zorchar hairsticks. XXX catches up his/her <hair>, pulling it into a casual roll and deftly securing it with his/her zorchar hairsticks. REMOVE You remove a pair of silver-twisted zorchar hairsticks from your <hair>, returning it to its normal style. XXX removes a pair of silver-twisted zorchar hairsticks from his/her <hair>, returning it to its normal style. SLAP You slap your hands together around a pair of silver-twisted zorchar hairsticks, and they fall apart. With a soft click, the prongs spring away from each hairstick, leaving a sharp-bladed weapon in each hand. You dexterously twirl the weapons and ready them for combat. XXX claps his/her hands around his/her hairsticks, and they fall apart to reveal sharply honed blades at the end of the hairsticks's handles. He/She twirls each weapon dexterously in his/her hands, readying them for combat. TURN (worn) With measured precision, you roll your <hair> along the sides, using your hairsticks to add a twist here and there. You create two side-by-side, identical rolls at the back, your hairsticks holding them in place. XXX side-rolls his/her <hair> and forms two identical knots at the back, skewering them into place with his/her vultite hairsticks. TAP You manipulate your hairsticks ever so gently, maintaining your hairstyle even as you secure the hairsticks. XXX fidgets with his/her hairsticks. WEAR You catch up your <hair>, pulling it into a soft roll and deftly securing it with your zorchar hairsticks. Verb First Third BOW With an elegant, sweeping gesture, you cross your weapons in front of you and bow gracefully, like a sharp-taloned hawk gliding on the wind. XXX gracefully crosses his/her weapons in front of him/her and executes an elegant bow. SLAP You clap your two sais together, expertly twisting them. As the prongs catch on one another, they fold around their respective blades, forming decorative sheaths. A barely visible hook catches the two weapons together, and you are left holding a pair of hairsticks. XXX claps his/her hands about his/her sai, and with an expert twist of the hand, he/she is left holding a pair of hairsticks. TURN Holding your arms slightly away from your body, you deftly spin your weapons in each hand. When they stop moving, they are held at the ready, in a classic two-weapon battle stance. XXX spins his/her weapons in each hand, stopping in mid-spin to hold them at the ready.
