Pet spells are a category of spells for which a caster summons something that follows him around and provides some sort of unique mechanical benefit, be it combat or utility. All pets are controlled via the TELL verb and appear in game as a "creature" in monsterbold, thus disqualifying Floating Disk (511) as a true pet spell. These spells may also be prevented from following in certain areas/rooms that are set to restrict their access, although there is no rule that all must be restricted from the same area; an area may allow one but prevent another.
