Arcane Decoy is a spell that will always be the first spell dispelled versus magical dispels. This includes, but is not limited to, the effects of the Spirit Dispel (119), Elemental Dispel (417), Spiritual Abolition (230), and Elemental Disjunction (530) spells.
As a side effect, Elemental Detection (405) will always detect and list this spell before any others.
Arcane Decoy will make it more difficult for a Bard to target a specific spell when using Song of Unravelling (1013). Using the untargeted version of the spellsong will result in Arcane Decoy being targeted first.
Certain area effects, such as those in Darkstone Castle, are not subject to this spell.[1]
This spell can commonly be found in dull gold coins available through the treasure system.
