Sai Hairsticks are temporary feature-changing items with set hairstyle types, which debuted at Ebon Gate 2009, created by GM Xynwen for the EG 2009 Auction (the original 2 sets auctioned off have a custom loresong telling the story of The Jade Heart and the Blue Lotus). They later reappeared at A Midsummer Night's Festival 2018 in the shop Carry a Big Stick. They are similar to hairsticks (non-weapon, cosmetic), hair combs, hairjewels, hair flowers, and snoods, but differ in that they can be SLAPped to make a pair of sai, which are brawling weapons. Note, sai are not compatible with the unarmed combat system. These are erithian hairsticks.
2023 Updates: These were updated in 2023 and going forward, they may be released with small, bladed weapons other than sai.
Carry A Big Stick Info: All the hairsticks split into a pair of 4x enchanted sai, except for the faenor (+16), imflass (+17), and vaalorn (+18). Per the merchant Twigxt, each can be enchanted and weighted separately, but not in the combined hairsticks form. These hairsticks and sai are sold as-is and cannot be altered by any merchant.
Hairsticks
When worn and PUSHed, the hairsticks cycle through seven different hairstyles. Alternatively, TURN # MY HAIRSTICK will allow the player to select a hairstyle by number. Erithians get extra flavor with TAP.

You clap your two sais together, expertly twisting them. As the prongs catch on one another, they fold around their respective blades, forming decorative sheaths. A barely visible hook catches the two weapons together, and you are left holding a pair of hairsticks.
