Flower Power flower presses are highly customizable tools that allow the user to create a LOOK for paper with a combination of settings on the flower press plus foraged and some pluckable flowers. They were released at Rumor Woods 2021 in the shop called ImPressions. While the main draw of this manufactory is the ability to customize other items, the press itself can be altered as well following guidelines in the analyze.

Note: Do not use quotes when altering these items as it will have undesirable results.

Flower Press

The Flower Press is capable of turning any foraged plant, such as a flower, into a dried and pressed version of it. The resulting pressed flower is capable of imparting a decorative design onto paper as part of the paper's LOOK. The Flower Press requires no charges and simply needs a foraged item inserted to use.

Analyze

You analyze the flower press and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

A sleek black willow flower press inlaid with mother-of-pearl is a "Flower Power" flower press that can be used to transform a (foraged item) into a parchment altering device. Simply place a foraged item into the press and PINCH the handles together. It will change the (foraged item) into "a dried and pressed (foraged item)" that can then be POINTed at any acceptable parchment to transfer its designs onto it.

The press has the following design options (which can be cycled through by using TURN):
Stock 1: Decorative calligraphy strokes grace the (paper), while heavy lines and delicate pigments create (foraged item) design in each of the four corners.
Stock 2: Colorful depictions of (foraged item) trail down the left-hand side of the (paper), which also has bold whorls twisting throughout the design.
Custom 1: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 2: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 4: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 5: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 6: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 7: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 8: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 9: This design has not been created yet.
Custom 10: This design has not been created yet.
It is currently set to transfer the Stock 2 design to the next (foraged item) placed in it and PINCHED.

Usage

Verb First Third
GET You pluck a dried and pressed hollyhock from off of the platform in your flower press. Person plucks a dried and pressed hollyhock from off of the small platform in her flower press.
PINCH Closing the black willow lid, you carefully twist down each of the black willow bolts in the four corners of your flower press before activating the dark green rune in the middle. A dry heat emanates from the device as the crimson outline of hollyhock slowly illuminates on the lid. It only takes a few moments before the light and heat fade away, allowing you to quickly untwist each pewter bolt and open the black willow lid. Closing the black willow lid, Person carefully twists down each of the dark green bolts in the four corners of her flower press before activating the dark green rune in the middle. (foraged item plural noun) trail down the left-hand side of the (paper), which also has bold whorls twisting throughout the design.". Deep in thought, Person turns the dial on a sleek black willow flower press inlaid with mother-of-pearl around.
Cycle between design options.

Pressed Flower

Once pressed, the flower will always take on the form of "a dried and pressed (noun)". It can be POINTed at a piece of stationery paper or mail paper to impart its design onto the it, which will become the paper's LOOK description. Pressed flowers are single use.

Analyze

You analyze the pressed hollyhock and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

A dried and pressed hollyhock has been created using the "Flower Power" flower press on it. When it is pointed at a piece of paper, or any of the accepted nouns, it instills its image upon the paper. This particular hollyhock will change the paper's LOOK description to:
Colorful depictions of plum-veined pale violet hollyhocks trail down the left-hand side of the (paper), which also has bold whorls twisting throughout the design.

Once it has done this, it will disintegrate.

Due to the nature of the hollyhock, it cannot be altered.

Usage

Verb First Third
POINT {FLOWER} AT {PAPER} You lay your pressed hollyhock upon a bronze-gilted white epistle, which instantly responds by transforming the hollyhock into a fine mist that slowly settles into the epistle. Person lays her pressed hollyhock upon a bronze-gilted white epistle, which instantly responds by transforming the hollyhock into a fine mist that slowly settles into the epistle.
Apply the pressed flower design to a piece of paper.

Additional Information

Usage

Prerequisites: piece of paper, a foraged item (e.g. flower), and a flower press.

  1. PUT a foraged item into the press.
  2. TURN press to desired design.
  3. PINCH the press to dry and press the inserted foraged item.
  4. GET the pressed foraged item from the press.
  5. POINT the newly pressed foraged item at a piece of paper. Both stationery paper and mail paper are compatible with pressed flowers.
  6. LOOK at the paper to see the newly minted design. Fancy!

Alteration Guidance

Articles, adjectives, and nouns of both the paper and the foraged item can be referenced uniquely as follows in your customized design. Some samples are available in the analyze above. Do not include quotes (e.g. "A Snappy Slogan Here") in alteration requests for this item, as it will cause undesirable results.

Different variables can be used as part of the design. They include:

  • Stationery Article
  • Stationery Adjective
  • Stationery Noun
  • Stationery Adjective & Article
  • Foraged Item Article
  • Foraged Item Adjective
  • Foraged Item Noun
  • Foraged Item Adjective & Article
  • Foraged Item Plural Noun

An example custom design includes the following:

Centered within the top half of the (stationery noun) is an elaborate illustration of (foraged item art.) (foraged item adj.) (foraged item noun), its every facet rendered with precise detail. Hints of color and shade lend a lifelike quality to the (foraged item noun), poised as if emerging from the (stationery adj.) backdrop. While encompassing the lion's share of the (stationery noun), ample space remains beneath the (foraged item adj.) (foraged item noun) for written notes.

Pressing "a small dark blue cornflower" while using this design and applying it to "a sheaf of golden flax paper" results in the following description for the paper:

Centered within the top half of the paper is an elaborate illustration of a small dark blue cornflower, its every facet rendered with precise detail. Hints of color and shade lend a lifelike quality to the cornflower, poised as if emerging from the golden flax backdrop. While encompassing the lion's share of the paper, ample space remains beneath the dark blue cornflower for written notes.
