Off-the-shelf iron skillets can cook raw fish and most vegetable and fruit forageables*. With 2 or more ingredients, only one can be primary. Raw fish and meats are considered primary ingredients, and there can only be one primary ingredient in a dish at a time. Some forageables are considered both primary and secondary, and their classification is designated when the ingredient is added to the skillet. If you add a banana before adding a red snapper fillet, then the banana is the primary ingredient and you will not be able to add the fish. If you add the fish first, then that becomes the primary ingredient, and the banana can be added as a secondary/tertiary ingredient. Secondary ingredients will have more influence over the taste messaging in most cases.
