Linsandrych Illistim was the founder of the elven House of Illistim in -49,107. She was regarded as the greatest elven scholar in the history of the race, and lived through the formation of all seven Elven Houses. Ta'Illistim was considered born when the Chronicle keepers, who had begun keeping written records a century before, chose to move to this settlement in the western foothills of the Dragonspine.

The Library Aies was established by Linsandrych herself, which together with the Keep became the foundation of Ta'Illistim. She was personally involved with the construction of both buildings. In addition to being the first Argent Mirror of the dynastic monarchy, she was also the First Master of Lore. No one knows precisely how long she lived, as her birth date is unknown, and she left shortly after having her second daughter after ruling for 3,212 years. Whether it was over the death of her husband, or some other love, has long been the subject of rumor and speculation. In elven theology regarding the disillusionment of the Arkati, she was supposedly a descendant of the heretical shaman Yadzari.

Interestingly, her hair became a religious artifact for a cult of worshippers who deified her as a goddess of knowledge, which was turned into pendant. It was eventually in the possession of Tenesi Illistim, whose mother Lilorandrych forbade her from wearing, as it was symbolic of a weak mind and violation of the principles of Yadzari. Lilorandrych is often compared to Linsandrych in greatness.

In-game Statuary and References

Aies apartment, Ta'Illistim

an oil painting

The painting is enclosed within a wooden frame gilded with flaking silver. Its subject is an elven woman, her head slightly bowed to look down and out the front of the composition. Her almond-shaped eyes are a mismatch, one being silver and the other tinted sapphire blue. Clad in a simple argent robe, she appears lighter than air, her pale, luminous feet hovering over the ground. In her outstretched hands are a book and a scepter, while to her back is the unfinished bulk of a stone building. A peacock, mostly out of view and wandering into the scene, stretches its long neck upwards, gazing upon her with a sentient eye. A small plaque is affixed to the bottom of the frame.

Ta'Illistim Wizard Guild

a well-polished white marble statue of an elf in flowing robes

The woman's features are refined and scholarly, and her hair is tied back in a long ponytail. Slim spectacles adorn her face, and she stares forward, her expression one of eager thirst for new knowledge, but tempered with the slightly aged lines that only centuries of wisdom can bring. A small plaque at the base of the statue reads, "Linsandrych Illistim, The First True Scholar of the Arcane."

An old elf wizard wanders by, taking some time to give a respectful nod to the white marble statue looming overhead.

The light plays in soft waves over the marbled skin of the statue.

Museum Alerreth, Ta'Illistim

small painting

>look painting
Shown from the waist up, the elven woman in the small painting is a soft wash of muted colors, from the pale gold of her hair to the veniom-shot grey wrap shrouding her shoulders. Her eyes are a peculiar mismatched pair, one silver and the other blue. The only bright spot in the portrait is a distinctively jeweled necklace of enameled gold.
