From: The Joint Investigation Team of Ta'Illistim's Index of Inquisitors and the Vornavian Courts

Subject: Ongoing Investigation into the Deaths of Lady Sayilla Javilerre and Lady Kasendra Malwind

Date: Imaerasta 23 in the year 5123

Introduction

This report provides an objective account of the joint investigation between the Index of Inquisitors of Ta'Illistim and the Vornavian Courts concerning the tragic deaths of Lady Sayilla Javilerre and Lady Kasendra Malwind. We will outline the progress made in the western regions, where Lady Sayilla's disappearance and the grievous injury to Steward Jarnsaixa Vargrdoittr took place. Subsequently, we will discuss the investigations into the accused individuals, the community effort to combat the ensuing crisis, and the developments in the eastern realm regarding the murder of Lady Kasendra Malwind.

Western Investigation Progress

Search Efforts for Lady Sayilla Javilerre: Following Lady Sayilla's disappearance in the waters of Solhaven Bay and the surrounding seas, exhaustive search operations were initiated. This included searches in the Cephalod Straits, Kestral Sea, and the Sea of Lazuli. Regrettably, these searches were eventually called off, leading to the presumption of Lady Javilerre's demise. Steward Jarnsaixa Vargrdoittr was also gravely wounded during these nefarious acts.

Accused Individual - Lady Grenhal of the Tehir: Lady Grenhal, a nursemaid, healer, and long-standing member of the Malwind Household, came under scrutiny during the investigation. Many healers, including Aelotoi healer Maylan, Hospitaller Yukito, Arcanist Akenna Leraun, Lady Missoni Sabretche Faendryl, and Magister Raelee Svala, contributed valuable insights and services in the quest to cure Steward Vargrdoittr.

Discovery of Underground Passage: A breakthrough in the western investigation occurred when an underground passage was found beneath the Vornavis Keep. This passage led to the revelation of a sleeper agent named Niatha, associated with the Dusk Coven, who had not only murdered an ancient healer but also posed as Lady Sayilla. Her subterfuge also proved responsible for Steward Vargrdoittr's illness. Notes found in this passage implicated her connection to the Loremaster in the east.

Niatha's Island Experiments: The investigation led to an island where Niatha had conducted inhumane experiments on refugees from Glaoveln, resulting in numerous fatalities. Only one survivor was found and cured, thanks to a method developed in Vornavis. Unfortunately, the illness spread to other regions despite the best efforts of the local communities, including those across the Dragonspine and the Frontier town.

Niatha's Capture and Trial: Niatha was eventually taken into custody and briefly held in Sunholm before being placed in a brig at sea. Captain Kimrella is currently transporting her to face charges in the Illistim Courts for her crimes against Lady Javilerre.

Eastern Investigation Progress

Investigation into Lady Kasendra Malwind's Murder: The Index of Inquisitors in the east undertook extensive inquiries into the murder of Lady Kasendra Malwind. It was determined that a poison, requiring a dairy base for activation, had been employed, causing a suffocating effect that obscured recognition for an extended period.

Prime Suspect - Orelwen Greyvael: During the initial phases of the investigation, many individuals were cleared of suspicion, narrowing the focus to one individual, Orelwen Greyvael.

Uncovering the Simulacra Plot: Through an unexpected alliance between the South Haven Rogues and Ta'Illistim, an underground laboratory was exposed beneath the Library of Aies. Here, it was revealed that Loremaster Thaiagol Razan-Dhur had been creating Simulacra to replace Lady Ardtin Greyvael, a member of the Court of Thorns. Thaiagol managed to evade capture, leaving behind a tea maker and a journal.

The Role of Lady Orelwen Greyvael: Subsequent investigations, including the study of Lady Orelwen Greyvael's journal, revealed that she was an unwitting accomplice in the murder of Lady Malwind, merely serving as the delivery method for the poison. The entire conspiracy was orchestrated by Thaiagol alone.

Manhunt for Thaiagol Razan-Dhur: The pursuit of Loremaster Thaiagol is ongoing, with the promise that he will be handed over to Vornavis Courts for justice once captured.

Conclusion

While this report marks significant progress in unraveling the mysteries surrounding the deaths of Lady Sayilla Javilerre and Lady Kasendra Malwind, there remain unanswered questions. It is disheartening that the culprits responsible for these heinous acts have yet to be brought to justice fully. The collective efforts of both the western and eastern regions have demonstrated remarkable resilience and cooperation, particularly in combatting the spread of the illness. We are committed to continuing our investigation until all individuals involved are held accountable for their actions.

We will provide further updates as the need arises. Rest assured, we still seek justice for the Lady Kasendra Malwind's death and answers to the great question of why.

Sincerely,

Odelgarde Brindlestraffe
Magister of the Vornavis Court
