Synopsis

Captain Bodohal taste tests at the Rusty Cutlass and plays a game with those gathered, wherein if he wins he can ask questions about Wehnimer's Landing and if he loses they can ask questions about his crew. He plays four games and loses all of them, so the locals get information out of him. However, toward the end of the night, an arrow flies into the wall near his head.

Log

[Town Square, Northwest - 227] (u7044)

This corner of the square is lively and hectic even at night. A number of representatives of the Landing's population, including several elven loggers and a party of rough-looking dwarves, loiter around the door of the Raging Thrak Inn, where the rowdy cheers of patrons and voices raised in songs of many sorts, from snatches of heroic ballads to blushingly bawdy tunes, beckon you to enter. You also see the Raging Thrak Inn and a polished granite statue.

Also here: Commodore Jaysehn, Perigourd, Captain Bodohal

Jaysehn says, "The fare is actually fairly good quality."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Perigourd says, "Yes, I enjoy it more than some others."

Guarrin greets, "Evening everyone."

Bodohal deeply says, "I was hoping to maybe have a nice chat with some of the locals while I eat, if any would like to join the entourage to our destination."

Guarrin asks, "Where are you heading?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Perigourd says, "The Cutlass."

Leaning back, Bodohal squints his eyes against the curtain of smoke the cigar is forming around him.

Speaking to Akenna, Jaysehn says, "Evening, love."

Guarrin says, "Surely there are better establishments."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Akenna says, "Good evening, dearest."

Bodohal deeply says, "Someone should lead the way. I'm a better navigator on the waterways than looking at doors and rooftops."

Bodohal shrugs at Guarrin.

[Rusty Cutlass, Grub Hall - 30276] (u336651)

Burnished wooden planks curve out to form the massive hall of the tavern's entrance, with rows of sturdy oaken posts rising to connect with a network of rafters above. Dozens of blackened oil lanterns hang from the ceiling, their light at times a haze behind wisps of smoke drifting in from the galley. In the center rests a huge cast-iron pot surrounded by countless tables and barrel chairs. A half-circle driftwood bar is nestled in the corner beneath a salt-stained crest. You also see a wide wooden ramp, an open archway leading to a wooden plank bridge and a large driftwood barrel.

Honeyed licorice smoke curls up from the cigar in Bodohal's hand.

Bodohal puts his cigar to his lips and puffs lightly, a honeyed licorice aroma surrounding him.

Bodohal parts his lips and blows a pair of identical, interlinked smoke rings into the air.

[assume a lot more cigar puffing throughout; I'm cutting it all out, though]

Jaysehn says, "Honestly? The food here is rather good."

Jaysehn asks, "The place is made for the...look?"

Jaysehn says, "I think."

Perigourd says, "Fair eve Dendum."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Perigourd says, "It has a plank as well."

Bodohal moves to position himself so he is facing the entrance of the hall, his back to the wall.

Speaking to Bodohal, Akenna inquires, "Has your stay been pleasant?"

From behind a round wooden table, Dendum says, ""It was foolish to bring this captain to the cutlass, the owner shanked the last person she thought brought the empire to the landing's gate."

Maevie says, "Hallos."

Bodohal glances at a round wooden table.

Maevie asks, "Good evening. How is everyone tonight?"

Jaysehn says, "Well, thank you."

Akenna says, "Well, thank you."

Bodohal deeply says, "Hungry."

Perigourd says, "Deep into weapon design."

Tikba says, "I am well, thank you."

Bodohal rummages around in his pockets.

Jaysehn says, "I may have something for you that you would enjoy."

Akenna says, "Looks like the have a lot fo seafood."

Speaking to Bodohal, Maevie says, "I recommend the crawfish and shrimp."

Bodohal deeply says, "I have some coins to pay for my own tonight. Some drunk dwarf with a Kick Me sign on his back lost a bit at dice."

Bodohal smirks.

Jaysehn says, "Ah....him."

Bodohal deeply asks, "What's good to eat here?"

Bodohal knocks on a round wooden table.

Bodohal sits down.

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "I mostly just drink here."

Missoni says, "I like the tuna roll, personally."

Bodohal yells, "Service!"

Bodohal squints.

Akenna says, "I uhm..."

Bodohal deeply asks, "Do we order food here?"

Tikba says, "I am glad to see you are well today, Captain."

Maevie says, "There is some on the bar."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "I think it's mostly laid out for folk to indulge."

Speaking to Bodohal, Missoni says, "No, you may help yourself."

Akenna says, "It's on the bar there."

Jaysehn offers Bodohal an anthracite teak board inset with azure arathiel clouds.

Jaysehn says, "If I may..."

Bodohal nods.

Jaysehn says, "That is Sentinel Stew. They very best."

Bodohal peers quizzically at Jaysehn.

Jaysehn says, "Not that slop from Helga's."

Jaysehn says, "I promise."

Bodohal deeply asks, "There's food to eat here on the bar, isn't there?"

Jaysehn says, "If you wish, of course."

Akenna says, "Never did like seafood myself, but there's pleny here."

Bodohal declines Jaysehn's offer.

Bodohal deeply says, "I think I'll try something from the menu here."

Speaking curiously to Jaysehn, Missoni asks, "No seafood?"

Tikba uncertainly says, "I am sure the fish here is very fresh."

Speaking to Missoni, Jaysehn says, "I've no stomach for it."

Bodohal helps himself to a flavorful tuna roll wrapped in rice.

Speaking to Missoni, Jaysehn says, "I eat it if required. But never by choice."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Missoni asks, "Have you ever tried a Dibbles fishcake?"

Speaking to Jaysehn, Perigourd says, "Just need to bring your own bacon with you."

Irval says, "So good."

Speaking to Perigourd, Jaysehn asks, "I've had a fishcake before, not ....a Dribble?"

Missoni corrects, "Dibbles."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Perigourd says, "They're all but synonomous."

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval says, "Get a swig of this Captain, makes everything taste better."

Jaysehn says, "Ah."

Irval offers Bodohal a skull-shaped stein.

Bodohal deeply asks, "So. I heard rumors about some castle west of town, last time I had a chat. And now I'm hearing a Magister is helping this new Baron out?"

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "His brother."

Bodohal glances at Irval.

Tikba says, "His twin."

Jaysehn says, "Darkstone? Oh...no rumor there. That place is a legend."

Bodohal deeply asks, "That is from the bar here?"

Bodohal peers quizzically at Irval.

Irval says, "Naw."

Bodohal declines Irval's offer.

Irval says, "Special stock."

Speaking to Missoni, Jaysehn asks, "This....isn't magical, is it?"

Speaking to Bodohal, Akenna says, "I mean, that's what magisters are for right? Helping out."

Bodohal deeply says, "I'll pass, given the last time someone offered me a drink."

Irval takes a drink from his skull-shaped stein.

Speaking to Jaysehn, Missoni says, "Only insofar as it is the most delicious food imaginable."

Irval exclaims, "See safe!"

Irval grins at Bodohal.

Jaysehn says, "Oh...its very good. Juicy."

Speaking to Bodohal, Guarrin asks, "Any progress with your quarry?"

Speaking to Bodohal, Missoni says, "The Magister who has just arrived is the soon-to-be-Baron's brother."

Jaysehn asks, "I heard a rumor that the new Baron is looking to hire on teams to explore the castle?"

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval says, "And thats where I heard your name mentioned...Loose lips and all that."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Perigourd says, "To perform magical research."

Akenna interestedly asks, "Oh?"

Speaking to Jaysehn, Missoni says, "The Magister told us of that endeavor last night."

Bodohal deeply says, "We have a few mages on The Shiver. One of them keeps going on about his research. Something about how the environs can change the magical nature of a creature depending on what kind of food it needs to eat, and some other nonsense."

Tikba idly asks, "Did you come to the Cutlass seeking its famous fish, or did somebody here suggest it to you?"

Missoni says, "The Castle and the Reach."

Speaking to Akenna, Perigourd says, "He'll be laying an application out for those interested."

Bodohal deeply says, "Sounds like wizard hogwash to me."

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval asks, "You are what you eat and all that?"

Speaking softly to Missoni, Lahanna says, "Research sounds interesting."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd asks, "So if we only give a creature fishcakes.. what would it's nature be?"

Perigourd says, "That sounds fairly intriguing actually."

Speaking softly to Missoni, Lahanna says, "I love meddling with things I do not understand."

Speaking to Perigourd, Guarrin says, "I think you know the answer to that question."

Bodohal deeply says, "Babbling all this gibberish about how different types of thraks change based on where they are. Not even sure he's speaking common half the time."

Speaking to Lahanna, Missoni says, "With the aim of understanding them, of course."

Lahanna softly says, "Of course."

Missoni defensively says, "I sometimes eat other food. Look. I will eat this tuna."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "There are several forms of gak actually, some that only thrive in Ta'Illistim."

Speaking to Bodohal, Akenna says, "Interesting, but that would of course be logical, given that we take on our environments."

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval says, "Those scholarly types do get carried away at times babbling on incohherently about their research they and they alone understand."

Akenna says, "We adapt."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "The other two being local to here."

Speaking amusedly to Missoni, Tikba inquires, "Is a roll a form of cake?"

Speaking deeply to Akenna, Bodohal asks, "You've been chatting with wizards too?"

Lahanna softly says, "Read a book then."

Speaking to Tikba, Missoni says, "I believe a cake must be cooked, and this is not."

Bodohal stares at Akenna.

Speaking to Bodohal, Akenna says, "I am one."

Missoni exclaims, "It is vastly different!"

Speaking to Bodohal, Tikba says, "It is certainly possible to change the nature of a creature, given sufficient magic, and desire."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "Baked, as opposed to cooked."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "One must bake a cake."

Speaking deeply to Akenna, Bodohal says, "I'm completely shocked by that. Really."

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni says, "One can fry a cake."

Bodohal mutters under his breath.

Jaysehn says, "Pardon."

Speaking to Bodohal, Akenna asks, "Why do you say that?"

Bodohal deeply says, "Because you are agreeing with the crazy mage from my ship."

Bodohal deeply says, "It was sarcasm."

Akenna chuckles.

Akenna says, "Ah, I see."

Bodohal takes a bite of his tuna roll.

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd asks, "Why keep them on board if they're crazy?"

Tikba says, "Perhaps he must tend to the horses."

Lahanna softly says, "Was thinking the same thing."

Akenna says, "I'm sure he doesn't mean the mage is insane, simply of a different mind."

Bodohal deeply says, "He was assigned. Hard to get rid of a Magister, once they are aboard. Too many questions when you go back to port."

Bodohal deeply says, "Although he calls himself a Magister-Academic."

Bodohal deeply says, "Whatever that means."

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval says, "I wonder if they'd be interested in Magister Enisius's plan to form research teams..."

Missoni says, "Ah, his focus must be scholarly research."

Akenna asks, "Isn't a Magister already and academic?"

Perigourd says, "Perhaps a lack of field experience."

Akenna says, "I mean the local magister here. I would describe her as an academic."

Tikba says, "He must find your warship an interesting post, then."

Speaking to Akenna, Missoni says, "I suspect so, but perhaps some end up more focused on administration, or fixing bridges."

Speaking to Akenna, Guarrin says, "To even enter studying at the hall, I am told basic academics are necessary."

Speaking to Guarrin, Akenna says, "I see."

Speaking to Missoni, Guarrin says, "Or perhaps a specific area of research."

Speaking to Guarrin, Perigourd asks, "Were you considering?"

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval says, "And research teams involved and focused in similar fields of study that your current

Irval says, "Just a thought."

Speaking to Perigourd, Guarrin says, "I have to notify them that my studies progressed past a certain point, yes."

Bodohal deeply says, "He has some stories to tell at least. Not too boring. Said he has fought a lich in the peaks of the Gattrof Mountains and stopped some storm from destroying the coast along Torre."

Bodohal shrugs.

Missoni thoughtfully says, "Interesting."

Geijon blinks at Bodohal.

Speaking to Bodohal, Missoni asks, "Did he come to shore on leave, too?"

Bodohal deeply says, "No, he won't leave The Shiver. All his research is in his room there."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "Fighting liches is something we'd have in common then."

Bodohal takes a bite of his tuna roll.

Speaking to Bodohal, Geijon says, "That would have been th' Lich Raukturga."

Bodohal glances at Geijon.

Speaking to Bodohal, Geijon says, "And I was there."

Speaking to Geijon, Tikba asks, "Do you know this Magister, then?"

Bodohal deeply says, "He pronounced it like that."

Bodohal nods at Geijon.

Bodohal takes a bite of his tuna roll.

Speaking to Geijon, Guarrin says, "Yes, perhaps someone you met."

Akenna says, "I helped to keep demons at bay in Rhoska-Tor during and archealogical dig. Never fought a lich though."

Bodohal takes a bite of his tuna roll.

Geijon whispers something to Guarrin.

Speaking politely to Bodohal, Tikba says, "Do you know the Magister's name? Perhaps Sir Geijon has run across him."

Bodohal deeply says, "There's more to him than I estimated it seems."

Speaking to Bodohal, Geijon asks, "Mind describing this Magister?"

Speaking to Akenna, Perigourd says, "Thurfel and Frigid, so far, of meaningful ones."

Bodohal deeply says, "But he's not really a concern of mine right now. I'm more interested in what is going on here in this town."

Perigourd says, "And Zeban now, I suppose."

Bodohal peers quizzically at Geijon.

Irval asks, "You must mean the mass immigration from the empire?"

Speaking to Irval, Perigourd asks, "Are people leaving in droves?"

Akenna says, "I heard it wasn't so many settlers..."

Bodohal deeply says, "He's a wizard. Wears a blue cloak and white robes. Claims to be from Aldora, originally."

Speaking to Perigourd, Guarrin says, "Well, I believe the first caravan will have a hundred."

Bodohal shrugs.

Speaking to Perigourd, Irval says, "Id expect so. New land brings new oppurtunity, especially with the promise of security that the empire seems to provide."

Akenna says, "That's not so many people."

Speaking to Bodohal, Geijon asks, "Magister Remuliad?"

Bodohal nods.

Bodohal takes a bite of his tuna roll.

Bodohal deeply asks, "You know him then?"

Geijon nods at Bodohal.

Bodohal deeply says, "Good. I'll have some leverage here then."

Geijon says, "I do. He was a friend of Vordillian's. He was there to establish an Order for Voln."

Bodohal deeply says, "Tell me more about that castle."

Bodohal leans against a round wooden table.

Speaking to Bodohal, Missoni asks, "Leverage for...?"

Speaking deeply to Missoni, Bodohal says, "Getting the information I want."

Speaking to Missoni, Irval says, "Every captain likes to maintain a certain amount of leverage on their crew, prevents potentional for mutiny Id reckon."

Speaking to Bodohal, Missoni asks, "The whereabouts of your deserter?"

Akenna says, "Darkstone? It's been abandoned save for the twisted creatures and the Sheruvians..."

Bodohal glances at Missoni and folds his arms over his chest.

Bodohal frowns at Akenna.

Bodohal deeply asks, "Sheruvians?"

Akenna nods at Bodohal.

Bodohal deeply asks, "You mean, actual Sheruvians? Like a cult of people who worship one of the Dark Ones?"

Akenna says, "Yes, harbingers..."

Akenna says, "I think there is a shrine there as well."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "Such things are not unheard of."

Speaking to Akenna, Missoni says, "There is."

Speaking to Bodohal, Guarrin asks, "No progress with your deserter then?"

Tikba mildly says, "Indeed, worshippers of Lornon gods are often encountered near the Landing."

Bodohal stares at Tikba.

Bodohal deeply exclaims, "What kind of town is this?!"

Maevie says, "A diverse one."

Tikba says, "A free one."

Missoni amusedly asks, "Are there no Lornonites where you hail from?"

Bodohal deeply says, "On my ship? Not for long if I find out about it."

Bodohal smirks.

Missoni curiously asks, "Why not?"

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd asks, "Which arkati does your crew pay homage to?"

Bodohal deeply says, "Who needs that trouble? We only need the blessings of the Wavedancer herself aboard The Shiver."

Missoni reasonably says, "Well, I am fond of Niima."

Tikba says, "An excellent choice of patron for a warship, to be sure."

Guarrin says, "We tend to evaluate folks on their actions, not who they worship. Or at least I do."

Speaking to Bodohal, Akenna says, "Your mage might like to see the castle, really. There is a mana storm there tht never relents."

Bodohal deeply says, "That Magister does tend to praise Jaston a bit, and I let him go about his business. It's a rare exception on The Shiver, but tolerable in his case."

Missoni says, "Surely The Shiver needs the aid of the winds."

Akenna says, "Jaston is my patron."

Bodohal deeply says, "After hearing Sheruvians are using it for their own ends I'm partial to bombard it from the sea, if I can move my ship close enough."

Speaking to Akenna, Guarrin says, "I imagine he would need to work with the local magisters as well."

Speaking to Guarrin, Akenna says, "Yes... but I just meant to see it, it's quite interesting."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "It may be the new Baron wishe it in tact."

Speaking to Bodohal, Guarrin says, "You would be firing on a new baron."

Bodohal deeply says, "If I didn't have standing orders to watch out for krolvin attacks on the coast, I might just offer some help to this new Baron."

Bodohal rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd asks, "Have you run into many Krolvin since arriving?"

Tikba says, "I am sure he would be happy for your aid. He has limited resources of his own for now."

Bodohal deeply says, "I suppose if he wants the castle to remain in once piece using cannons wouldn't be so favorable."

Bodohal deeply asks, "Did everyone get enough to eat?"

Bodohal deeply says, "Don't go hungry on my account."

Maevie says, "I'll be eating for a bit."

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni says, "Thank you."

Irval says, "One last thing."

Akenna says, "I don't know, I want to believe that castle can be restored but it is going to take a great deal of time and resources to reclaim it."

Bodohal deeply asks, "What's better here? The wine or the brew?"

Dendum says, "The stout."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "Both are good."

Tikba agrees, "There are dark things in Darkstone Castle, to be sure."

Akenna says, "I'd say the mead."

Missoni firmly says, "The plum wine."

Speaking to Akenna, Guarrin says, "I am not sure it can be cleansed, in which case, those cannons may be useful."

Speaking to Guarrin, Akenna says, "They may have to clear it to its foundation, true."

Tikba says, "And below, to where the kiramon have dug."

Speaking to Akenna, Perigourd says, "Jaysehn can annoit it in whole."

Speaking to Tikba, Guarrin says, "A fair point."

Tikba thoughtfully says, "I tried to ascertain their reach, but their source is deeper than I could find a way to go."

Bodohal reaches inside one of the containers hanging from his leather bandolier and grabs a tarnished silver coin.

Bodohal deeply says, "Tails for wine, heads for the brew."

Bodohal tosses his coin up in the air and catches it deftly with the other hand. It comes up heads!

Bodohal tosses a tarnished silver coin into one of the containers hanging from his leather bandolier.

Missoni reasonably says, "Wine next time."

Bodohal pours himself a goblet of red-gold beer.

Bodohal takes a drink from his red-gold beer.

Irval says, "Too fruity for me."

Speaking to Bodohal, Tikba asks, "Are your men still aboard, or have they found lodgings of their own?"

Bodohal deeply says, "I've told a bit about my ship tonight, and you'd told me about that castle. I think we should play a game to see what else we can learn from each other now that we've enjoyed a meal."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "He was letting them meander about."

Bodohal takes a drink from his red-gold beer.

Bodohal deeply asks, "Wasn't there a gnome here a moment ago?"

Tikba says, "I am sure he is still about."

Speaking softly to Irval, Lahanna says, "Beer has bubbles... which are not good things for polite company."

Speaking to Bodohal, Dendum remarks, ""They have dragged you to the place ran by former Mother of Rooks....do not wish to be standing out in open if things do not turn out well."

Bodohal belches.

Bodohal takes a drink from his red-gold beer.

Bodohal looks rather relaxed.

Bodohal deeply asks, "Rooks?"

Bodohal peers quizzically at Dendum.

Dendum says, "Hrmm, would not wish to deny them ability to introduce themselves..."

Bodohal shrugs.

From behind a round wooden table, Dendum's voice says, ""But keep talking about Dark Gods, is most interenting to hear thoughts of human who sailed from deep in the empire."

Bodohal deeply asks, "Who wants to play a game, and see who asks who what?"

Bodohal leans against a round wooden table.

Bodohal takes a drink from his red-gold beer.

Bodohal looks rather relaxed.

Missoni cheerfully says, "That sounds fun."

Bodohal deeply asks, "So who is playing?"

Lahanna raises her hand.

Bodohal deeply asks, "Someone who didn't last time, maybe?"

Bodohal nods at Lahanna.

Bodohal deeply asks, "You play stone, blade, and map?"

Lahanna softly says, "I haven't."

Lahanna softly says, "But I know it."

Lahanna softly says, "I have trouble with decision you see..."

Bodohal deeply says, "Stone beats blade, map beats stone, and blade beats map."

Lahanna nods.

Perigourd says, "Poor map."

Speaking to Missoni, Jaysehn asks, "Like it?"

Bodohal deeply says, "We play three times, whoever gets best of those three gets to ask a question. If you win you can ask about myself, my crew, or my ship. If I win, I get to ask something about your town, someone in it, or somewhere around it."

Bodohal deeply asks, "Sound fair?"

Bodohal peers quizzically at Lahanna.

Speaking to Jaysehn, Missoni says, "It is my favorite of the selection here."

Lahanna nods.

Bodohal holds his hand out towards Lahanna, palm upward and holding his other hand which is balled into a fist, inviting Lahanna to roshambo.

Speaking to Jaysehn, Missoni says, "I recomended it to the captain, but the brew won the coin toss."

Speaking to Bodohal, Dendum remarks, ""Will play this game."

Speaking deeply to Lahanna, Bodohal says, "You need to make your choice."

Bodohal holds his hand out towards Lahanna, palm upward and holding his other hand which is balled into a fist, inviting Lahanna to roshambo.

Speaking to Missoni, Jaysehn says, "To be fair, the weather is turned. Probably would be better to have some brandywine."

Lahanna bites her lip.

Lahanna paces back and forth.

Lahanna giggles.

Lahanna softly says, "I feel like I'm in danger..."

Lahanna holds her hand out towards Bodohal, palm upward and holding her other hand which is balled into a fist, inviting Bodohal to roshambo.

Bodohal and Lahanna pound their fists in their open palms three times...

Bodohal makes the symbol for paper!

Lahanna makes the symbol for paper!

...It's a tie!

Lahanna gasps.

Bodohal deeply says, "No wins yet."

Bodohal deeply says, "Keep trying."

Lahanna holds her hand out towards Bodohal, palm upward and holding her other hand which is balled into a fist, inviting Bodohal to roshambo.

Bodohal and Lahanna pound their fists in their open palms three times...

Bodohal makes the symbol for scissors!

Lahanna makes the symbol for rock!

...Lahanna wins!

Bodohal scowls.

Lahanna lets out a cheer!

Bodohal takes a drink from his red-gold beer.

Bodohal looks rather relaxed.

Lahanna holds her hand out towards Bodohal, palm upward and holding her other hand which is balled into a fist, inviting Bodohal to roshambo.

Bodohal and Lahanna pound their fists in their open palms three times...

Bodohal makes the symbol for scissors!

Lahanna makes the symbol for paper!

...Bodohal wins!

Bodohal bursts out in loud, raucous laughter.

Lahanna giggles.

Bodohal deeply says, "Tied at one."

Irval exclaims, "Tied up with Bodohal coming from behind!"

Bodohal deeply says, "This is for the win."

Lahanna holds her hand out towards Bodohal, palm upward and holding her other hand which is balled into a fist, inviting Bodohal to roshambo.

Bodohal and Lahanna pound their fists in their open palms three times...

Bodohal makes the symbol for rock!

Lahanna makes the symbol for paper!

...Lahanna wins!

Bodohal grumbles.

Irval exclaims, "Ohh ho! Lahanna pulls it out folks!"

Bodohal takes a drink from his red-gold beer.

Irval says, "Bodohal good attempt! But she's got home field advantage."

Lahanna softly says, "I wonder... what should I ask...."

Bodohal deeply says, "Ask away."

Bodohal waves his hand in a dismissive gesture.

Lahanna softly says, "I am at a disadvantage not being here..."

Bodohal shrugs at Lahanna.

Bodohal deeply says, "We've had a chat. You know the name of my ship and some of the crew."

Bodohal deeply says, "That's what you get to ask about."

Lahanna softly asks, "I guess I would ask... is it somebody who deserted your crew that you are looking for?"

Bodohal parts his lips and blows a pair of identical, interlinked smoke rings into the air.

Bodohal glances at Lahanna.

Bodohal deeply says, "I am looking for someone named Tolmis."

Leaning back, Bodohal squints his eyes against the curtain of smoke the cigar is forming around him.

Lahanna softly asks, "Ahhh, yes, but is he your desert, or soembody else's?"

Jaysehn says, "I'll go have a look."

Bodohal deeply says, "He was a member of my crew. A cannoneer who overstepped and got punished for it."

Bodohal deeply says, "When we neared the town, he stole a longboat and came ashore before me and some others from The Shiver did."

Bodohal deeply says, "But that's all you're getting for one question."

Lahanna nods.

Lahanna softly says, "Fair."

Bodohal deeply asks, "Who's next?"

Irval raises his hand.

Dendum nods at Bodohal.

Dendum points at Irval.

Irval points at Dendum.

Dendum asks, "Captains choice then yes?"

Irval says, "Sounds fair."

Bodohal nods.

Bodohal points his black cigar at Dendum.

Bodohal deeply says, "You, gnome friend."

[insert more roshamboing...]

...It's a tie!

Jaysehn whispers something to Perigourd.

Bodohal snorts!

Lahanna softly says, "This game is stressful."

...Dendum wins!

Bodohal pounds a round wooden table with his fist, but nothing happens.

Bodohal growls ferociously!

Tikba whispers something to Missoni.

...It's a tie!

...Dendum wins!

Missoni whispers something to Tikba.

Bodohal deeply says, "I'm being cut down at both ends tonight."

Irval says, "Dedum clearly showing his fisty prowess."

Speaking to Bodohal, Jaysehn says, "Should have had the stew."

Bodohal deeply says, "You already won. Don't rub my face in the mud." [Dendum had offered another roshambo]

Dendum says, "Ahh."

Tikba whispers something to Missoni.

...It's a tie!

Dendum says, "Victory is sometimes hard to see."

Dendum starts chortling.

Bodohal deeply says, "I guess it helps if you are taller than the table."

Bodohal smirks at Dendum.

Bodohal deeply asks, "What is your question then?"

Missoni whispers something to Tikba.

Speaking to Bodohal, Dendum inquires, ""This...Ship of the Bluewater Brigade who gave the captain the last orders it recieved?"

Bodohal deeply says, "We sailed from Tamzyyr. The orders came from the throne, signed and sealed."

Dendum blinks.

Dendum bows to Bodohal.

Dendum says, "Many thanks."

Missoni muses, "Directly from the Sun Throne?"

Bodohal deeply says, "That's what the scroll said."

Bodohal deeply says, "The krolvin attack on Brisker's Cove was not taken lightly."

Bodohal deeply says, "Tamzyyr is a port, and we need assurances."

Dendum reminds, ""You are not parked off Gavolin."

Bodohal deeply says, "We just came from a patrol around those parts."

Bodohal deeply says, "Can't fault me for giving my crew some rest."

Tikba notes, "The krolvin may be busy with internal affairs just now. There is a question of leadership."

Speaking to Bodohal, Jaysehn asks, "I didn't notice any officers among them. Are they still aboard?"

Bodohal deeply says, "Remuliad is in command of those aboard, for now. He has been helping with navigating and keeping wind in our sails. Bit annoying, being all smart and talking too much, but that's a wizard for you."

Jaysehn says, "They do make the best navigators though."

Tikba says, "An occupational hazard for Magisters."

Bodohal deeply asks, "Time for another game?"

Bodohal deeply says, "One of you step forward to play. I'm not picking again."

Bodohal glances at Dendum.

Speaking softly to Bodohal, Lahanna says, "Brave of you at this point."

Speaking to Bodohal, Jaysehn says, "I'd take another chance. Fate was against me last night."

Irval nods at Bodohal.

Irval strides over to stand before Bodohal.

Bodohal nods at Irval.

...Irval wins!

Bodohal casts growled aspersions into mid-air.

...Bodohal wins!

Bodohal smirks at Irval.

...It's a tie!

Bodohal begins to twitch as he glances at Irval.

Irval stares at Bodohal.

...It's a tie!

Bodohal shifts his weight.

...Irval wins!

Bodohal pounds a round wooden table with his fist, but nothing happens.

Speaking to Irval, Perigourd says, "Well done."

Bodohal deeply exclaims, "Folly!"

Lahanna softly exclaims, "Woooo!"

Bodohal grumbles at a fat black cigar.

Irval nods knowingly at Bodohal.

Speaking helpfully to Bodohal, Tikba suggests, "Perhaps Niima cannot find you here on land to bring you fortune."

Bodohal deeply says, "Trickster spirits haunt this place."

Speaking to Tikba, Jaysehn says, "If you need Niima's help, you are already in trouble."

Lahanna softly says, "Lots of unconscripted sailors."

Irval glances at Bodohal.

Geijon whispers something to Perigourd.

A masked figure steps from the shadows and turns away quickly as they rush off, parchment clutched in hand.

Perigourd furrows his brow.

Umber eyes alert and expression wary, Perigourd gazes at his surroundings.

Speaking to Perigourd, Dendum remarks, ""Dendum did warn the human."

Speaking deeply to Irval, Bodohal asks, "Your question?"

Irval glances at Bodohal.

Tikba idly asks, "Whose recommendation did bring you to the Rusty Cutlass?"

Bodohal deeply says, "Something about this hall is making me uneasy."

Bodohal peers quizzically at Irval.

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval says, "You spike of Tolmiss, being punished, but not for what? I wonder what that it was he was punished for to being a reason he has fled now."

Irval says, "So my question would be to that."

Bodohal deeply says, "Tolmis was caught in my quarters."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum remarks, ""That is a nice pipe."

Speaking to Dendum, Irval says, "Thanks."

Bodohal deeply says, "And when he was leaving, he knocked a pile of cannon balls over."

Jaysehn says, "You didn't mention him being in your quarters the other night. Just the cannon balls."

Irval asks, "So what did he take?"

Bodohal glances at Jaysehn.

Irval glances at Bodohal.

Bodohal deeply says, "You already asked a question."

Bodohal smirks at Irval.

Tikba mildly says, "A troublesome place to keep a stack of cannonballs. They must be disturbed frequently."

Irval snorts!

Bodohal deeply says, "Guess someone else will have to play to ask that, if they want to."

Irval nods knowingly.

Bodohal deeply says, "Suppose I have time for another round, if that is the case."

Bodohal raises an eyebrow.

Tikba says, "I think the Commodore wanted to try again."

Jaysehn asks, "Why not?"

Jaysehn says, "I've had a string of misfortunes lately."

Jaysehn nods at Bodohal.

Jaysehn says, "Your odds are good."

[insert more roshamboing]

...Bodohal wins!

Speaking to Jaysehn, Irval says, "I consult the stones real fast."

Jaysehn asks, "Ah...see?"

Jaysehn nods.

Bodohal deeply exclaims, "Hah! One for me!"

...It's a tie!

...It's a tie!

Jaysehn grins.

...It's a tie!

Jaysehn raises an eyebrow in Bodohal's direction.

Bodohal stares at Jaysehn.

Jaysehn smiles quietly to himself.

Jaysehn says, "I'm stubborn like that."

...It's a tie!

Bodohal frets.

Jaysehn says, "Oh...did I throw paper? I didn't even realize."

Jaysehn nods.

...It's a tie!

Jaysehn grins.

...It's a tie!

Jaysehn says, "I see you like maps."

Jaysehn says, "Me too."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Irval says, "Now your just messing with him."

...It's a tie!

Bodohal squints.

Missoni incredulously asks, "How is this possible?"

Jaysehn says, "Fate."

...Jaysehn wins!

Jaysehn says, "That's how."

Bodohal deeply exclaims, "Tied!"

Bodohal deeply says, "Last point."

...It's a tie!

Lahanna softly says, "That was exciting."

Jaysehn says, "I guess we'll never have to test our ships at sea."

Jaysehn says, "We can just declare it a tie now."

Bodohal peers quizzically at Jaysehn.

Jaysehn asks, "Want to call it a draw? One question each?"

Jaysehn raises an eyebrow in Bodohal's direction.

Lahanna softly says, "I cannot bear another round like that."

Bodohal deeply asks, "You want our ships to fight?"

Perigourd says, "Interesting proposal."

Bodohal deeply says, "That won't end well for you."

Jaysehn says, "Oh? I don't know. The Onyx Eclipse is quite fast. But of course I don't wish to battle the Empire."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Irval says, "Sink him."

Jaysehn looks over at Irval and shakes his head.

Jaysehn says, "Why? He's been nothing but polite."

Jaysehn glances at Bodohal.

Irval says, "In the game of course."

Jaysehn asks, "So? One more throw?"

Jaysehn asks, "Or a tie?"

Speaking to Jaysehn, Irval exclaims, "But ya got him right where ya want him!"

Bodohal deeply says, "My ship is twice the size of the usual man o' war, and has the best cannons this side of the 'Spine. If we grapple, I have mounted soldiers that can leap across a ten foot stretch without even using a gang."

Jaysehn says, "Oh...I'm sure they are very, very brave."

Jaysehn nods.

Tikba murmurs, "To say nothing of your siege weapons."

Bodohal deeply says, "Let's finish it here then."

Jaysehn nods.

Jaysehn says, "Here it is."

Perigourd says, "Much bravado amongst Captains."

...Jaysehn wins!

Bodohal growls something vile beneath his breath.

Jaysehn says, "I'm a swordsman in the end, Captain. Always the blade."

Jaysehn nods.

Bodohal deeply exclaims, "I've not won a single match!"

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "The stars just weren't there to lead you this eve, it seems."

Irval says, "Nor the tides."

Bodohal deeply says, "Away from my ship too long."

Jaysehn nods at Bodohal.

Bodohal deeply says, "Alright, captain. Ask away."

Bodohal waves his hand in a dismissive gesture.

Speaking to Bodohal, Jaysehn asks, "You said the other night that your deserter was punished for the cannon ball spill by being sent to muck stalls. What did he take from your cabin though?"

Jaysehn says, "Seems like a more serious breech than an accident."

Bodohal deeply says, "I already said I don't know. You can ask something else."

Bodohal deeply says, "That's why I'm hunting him down."

Irval says, "Hmm I thought you said...we had to ask a question to find what he took."

A black arrow suddenly flies into the hall and strikes the wall near Bodohal's head.

Dendum says, "Hrmph."

Dendum says, "Oh yes Dendum."

Bodohal stands up.

Dendum says, "He is just being alarmist."

Dendum says, "Dont listen to Dendum."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "It seems the welcome here has ended."

Lahanna softly says, "Strange to not know ones possesions well enough to know when one is missing...."

Tikba says, "Another Landing welcome."

Speaking to Perigourd, Tikba says, "I fear it has just begun."

Speaking to Bodohal, Jaysehn says, "I'll save my question for next time. I want you alive to answer it. Best you be going."

Bodohal deeply says, "I keep many books, maps, and nothing obvious was missing."

Missoni encouragingly says, "The traditional post-dinner dodging of arrows."

Speaking to Bodohal, Irval says, "Captain seems might be time returning to your ship..."

Jaysehn says, "Local politics. You understand."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "Not all are used to our ways."

Bodohal deeply says, "I believe it is best I leave this hall. My welcome may be overstayed, and perhaps unwelcomed."

In a perfect imitation of Perigourd, from behind a round wooden table, Dendum's voice says, ""Next time let the Guarrin pick the dining location..will probably be hard tack and water but with less arrows."

Jaysehn says, "Does seem the logical choice."

Irval says, "Someone retrieve the arrow."

Speaking softly to Irval, Lahanna says, "That animal is a nightmare."

Geijon says, "One thing about th' Rooks, they don't like Imperials."

Perigourd asks, "But then how will I enjoy the red-gold?"

Speaking to Bodohal, Geijon says, "Fair warning."

Speaking to Bodohal, Missoni says, "It was a lovely meal."

Bodohal nods at Geijon.

Speaking to Bodohal, Missoni asks, "Would you like accompaniment back to your lodgings?"

Bodohal deeply says, "We've been overheard, and they know enough about me to make a choice on the matter."

Perigourd says, "True enough."

In a perfect imitation of Bodohal, from behind a round wooden table, Dendum's voice says, ""The Rooks were born again and again but one such birth was under the war with Talador where many of them suffered. They have reason for dislike."

Speaking to Bodohal, Perigourd says, "We'll escort you back to the Inn."

Bodohal deeply says, "That would be welcome. I hope they would not kill me in the street while in the company of others."

Tikba says, "Let us take the lighted streets, perhaps."

Bodohal nods.

Speaking to Bodohal, Jaysehn says, "I wouldn't hope to high on that."

Missoni murmurs, "They might."
