Synopsis

Weak creatures attack at the Landing as a precursor to a wave of tougher creatures, now armed with feras weapons. Commander Sablo says his people will work to cut off Gnul's forces, then later aims to push to the forest.

Eventually, amidst the combat, the sound of siege weapons echoes through the woods, then fireballs hurtle from them into town, sending the square into a blaze! Gnul taunts everyone to scurry to the Raging Thrak trophy room, then not long afterward fires the catapults on the inn too! And then Moot Hall! And then the north dock! Some Imperial settlers dash into town with water buckets to put out the fires, then another wave of catapult shots sets the campsite ablaze!

Some Landing defenders locate the catapults and work to destroy them, though griffins swoop down to interrupt with an attack. Meanwhile, other griffins head for the Landing. Rooks take to the roofs to handle the gremlins, lions, and bears running rampant in the streets, then a web of burning fire flies from the Hendoran outpost to intercept several griffins.

Gnul says they fight endlessly, but if only they fought so hard for freedom. He says his forces are growing and learning while the Landing's are not, so "Sleep this night, and kiss the morning you awaken, for they are numbered."

Highlights

Nyaria quietly exclaims, "Ohhh look, i get more ash to add to my other ash!"
Speaking heartily to Nyaria, Chamorr says, "If ya got rid of half of yer ash, would ya be halfashed."
More gold-feathered griffins soar into view from the Thanatoph and swoop towards Wehnimer's Landing! Suddenly, the sky near the Hendoran Outpost flashes with a dark red light and reveals a web of burning red fire that stretches out like a net, exploding as the griffins fly across it and each one of them bursts into flames, wreathed in fiery red light as their scorched corpses plummet to the ground.
[General] Pukk exclaims, "That is Owly casting those spells! Yay Owly!"
[General] Giogionni asks, "Who?"
[General] Chandrellia exclaims, "Owly!"
[General] Giogionni asks, "Who?"
[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Exactly."
[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Gnul, you underestimate the folks here, and you will pay dearly in the end, it didn't have to be this way, but you've dug your own grave at this point."
[General] Gnul asks, "Oh, you will not let me walk away, like your blue monkey man?" [Tyrrax]
[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Gnul, we tried that route with you more then once, and you didnt want to talk so talking is done."
[General] Pukk thinks, "Gnul, you are doing it wrong. If you attack just the imp soldiers. Not many will say much...if you attack the settlers...well...that is another story..then you upset all of us."
[General] Gnul thinks, "Do not worry, that will be your second to last mistake. The final one being opposing me."
[General] Giogionni asks, "I thought we were already opposin' ya, so wouldn't that be the first mistake?"
[General] Tikba delicately thinks, "We have also made several other mistakes between then and now."
[General] Leafiara thinks, "I'm literally in the process of making one right now as I fight the Empire's battles for it."
The ghostly voice of Pukk says, "So, there I was. Me against so many of them and then bam! I got hit by a rolton! A rolton."
[General] Gnul thinks, "Every battle, we grow, we learn. You have not. Sleep this night, and kiss the morning you awaken, for they are numbered."
[General] Giogionni asks, "Is that a threat? Or an entry in ya secret diary?"

Log

Gathering in the Snow

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Seems like some weather tonight in the landing."

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Vaemyr disk, a spindly bone white imp, the Elliathe disk, a heartbroken alpine spirit that is flying around, the Emperia disk, a sinuous bone white serpent, a forest wolf, the Teutalalla disk, the Mordus disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl that is flying around, the Guarrin disk, the Geijon disk, a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox, a merry sunburst spirit that is flying around, a dented steel trunk, the Stumbel disk, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a wriggling earth worm, a hammered mithril barbute, a large acorn, the Crendain disk, some silver coins, a sleek black-mantled hawk, a loaf of dark crusty ale bread, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Also here: Event Planner Leafiara, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Greenjinn, Lady Elliathe, Lady Nyaria, Town Councilor Kiyna, Lady Emperia, Puptilian who is sitting, Teutalalla, Mourdeyan, Dame Evia, Mordus, Hospitaller Yukito, Alosaka, Geijon, Magister Raelee, Lady Arenglae, Sir Cryheart, Sir Guarrin, Sanies, Stumbel, Chamorr, Crendain, Pukk

From nearby, you hear Greenjinn yell, "Happy Feastday!"

Faceted, crystalline flakes of snow fall from the sky, fluttering down to blanket the environs in a veil of ashen glass.

Nyaria quietly exclaims, "Ohhh look, i get more ash to add to my other ash!"

Leafiara considers, "One of those nights, eh?"

Nyaria quietly says, "Maybe ill sparkle."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Cryheart!"

Alosaka says, "We were warned of Gnul's assault. This might be it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I think many of us are expending the "Gnuls forces will attack by the end of the week" type of nights."

Puptilian says, "I would be very happy to go hunt him down for once."

Alosaka says, "Hopefully we can set aside our differences for the night."

Speaking heartily to Nyaria, Chamorr says, "If ya got rid of half of yer ash, would ya be halfashed."

Speaking to Chamorr, Nyaria quietly says, "I wouldnt wanna do anything halfashed."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Ye'd be the expert."

Nyaria quietly says, "I need a drink it seems." [because she messed up the speaking to Chamorr part, but I corrected it]

Chamorr heartily says, "Dont we all."

Nyaria takes a drink from her woodmaster whiskey.

Nyaria's eyes glaze over slightly and her face pales.

Nyaria is stunned!

Aspyre says, "Oops."

Nyaria quietly says, "Much better."

Aspyre says, "Ah, he doesn't like doughnuts."

Speaking softly to Arenglae, Alosaka says, "For luck, then."

Speaking to Alosaka, Arenglae says, "... do not die."

Speaking to Arenglae, Alosaka asks, "Is it true elf ears are lucky?"

Speaking lightly to Alosaka, Tikba says, "For the elf, perhaps."

Speaking carefully to Alosaka, Arenglae says, "I suppose that depends on what you intend to do to get luck from them."

Speaking to Arenglae, Alosaka says, "Well, I have a reputation to maintain."

Speaking to Alosaka, Arenglae hums, "Hmm."

Nairena says, "The evil snow."

Nalver says, "Go to thraks."

Speaking to Arenglae, Alosaka says, "Thrak's Inn is the fallback location, if the square here is overrun."

Speaking to Alosaka, Arenglae asks, "Should I have Kori stay here or there?"

Speaking to Arenglae, Alosaka says, "Here is probably fine for now. But we've been told tonight's assault may be the worst."

Kayse observes, "So much for the town being quiet."

Alosaka says, "And the last one was bad enough."

Armog falls to the ground!

[insert everybody else falling to the ground too]

The ground beneath you violently shakes and rumbles causing you to fall down!

Roundtime: 16 sec.

Cryheart says, "Ooof."

Speaking to a sapphire-eyed silvered arctic fox, Arenglae says, "There will be plenty of treats available should you maintain your post here."

Elliathe says, "Well then."

Kayse flatly says, "Ah, one of THOSE nights."

Keuna says, "Well then."

Alosaka says, "Hm."

Kiyna says, "Urgh..."

Vaemyr says, "Guess who's back."

Guarrin says, "Well. That will not be good."

From nearby, you hear Greenjinn yell, "Look Out!"

Pukk says, "I needed some rest anyways."

Vaemyr says, "Going to scout."

Nyaria quietly says, "Well that just happened."

Kelfyr says, "Feels like being back on the mountain."

Aspyre asks, "What was that?"

Speaking shortly to Aspyre, Tikba says, "Gnul."

Elliathe says, "I suppose I shall man battlestations here then, for the wounded."

Speaking to Cryheart, Guarrin says, "Let's swing to the North gate. Then split some off for the west gate again."

Aspyre asks, "What is a Gnul?"

Alosaka asks, "We're not expecting a caravan tonight, are we?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Arenglae says, "Careful of the quills."

[travel]

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate] Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see the Wayside inn.

Also here: Mourdeyan, Dame Evia, Alosaka, Magister Raelee, Lady Arenglae, Sir Guarrin, Pukk, Bernadette, Geijon, Lady Nairena, Bellaja, Sir Cryheart

Cryheart says, "Let's split up."

Evia says, "We aren't many yet."

Guarrin says, "West gate. Join up please."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "We hae two groups one at North gate, and another at West group...come join either one."

Bellaja says, "I can go wherever you think best."

Guarrin says, "That'll do for now."

Guarrin says, "If we run into trouble we can call for more."

Geijon says, "Informed Perigourd."

Guarrin says, "Heading to the west gate."

Guarrin says, "Moving out."

Cryheart says, "We are guarding both gates."

Speaking to Yukito, Alosaka says, "I've got this group. Guarrins at the west gate needs a healer."

Bristenn dryly ventures, "Expecting company, are we?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Seem so."

Speaking to Bristenn, Nairena says, "Probably."

Alosaka says, "There's... not many of us."

Bellaja asks, "What has put us on alert?"

[General] Geijon thinks, "West Gate and North look firm."

Bristenn simply remarks, "Even less guarding the campsite. I believe I'll head that way, then."

Early Skirmishes

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "I see a rusted golem south of west gate."

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "And now a troll."

Alosaka softly says, "They're here."

[Realm] Guarrin thinks, "Engaged, west gate."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Some could group up with Sir Bristenn at the camp."

A fluffy white cat pads in.

Bellaja exclaims, "There's my cat!"

(OOC) Bernadette's player whispers to the group, "Glad I got Ballistas up to count."

Alosaka says, "Glatoph's minions." [an ice hound had passed by; Leafi calmed it and it moved on]

[Arenglae kills the next ice hound]

Cryheart says, "Well done."

[Irval kills an ice troll and Alosaka kills a krynch]

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Lots coming from south western corner of the walls."

Speaking to a fluffy white cat, Bellaja says, "Hi there kitty."

[combat, but it's still extremely light and I'll edit around it]

[General] Alosaka thinks, "Glatoph forces are leading the assault. Be wary of cold."

[Realm] Guarrin thinks, "Moving your way Pupt."

[General] Elliathe thinks, "Empaths are ready at the Square. If the Square becomes overrun we will announce our fallback to the Trophy Room at Thrak's just like last time."

[Realm] Geijon thinks, "Care for weapon fire."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Golems and trolls at north gate."

[light combat]

Nairena says, "Ohno."

Nairena says, "He got the glacier critters going against the town."

[General] Elliathe thinks, "Excellent."

[light combat]

[Realm] Puptilian asks, "Down more then the corner seems to be quiet still. Maybe they are coming from Mine Road?"

Cryheart says, "Ye seem ok."

Alosaka says, "Each of the mountains has joined the alliance. Sentoph, Thanatoph, Glatoph."

Leafiara says, "I suppose he still has time to get the Zeltoph, but not much lives there besides gnolls."

[Realm] Tikba thinks, "I am bringing the ballista tower to the center of the square, in case they should breach the walls again."

[General] Irval asks, "Should we not attempt to push into their ranks . Instead of reactive be proactive? Do we have an idea of where their forces are gathering?"

[light combat]

[General] Cryheart thinks, "No indication yet."

[General] Alosaka asks, "There are no caravans expected tonight, correct?"

[General] Kiyna thinks, "We have a plan for an offensive. It isn't ready yet. Blame Sablo if you want someone responsible. He insisted on doing it this way."

Pukk says, "I'm going to try and scout and call out what I see coming."

Cryheart says, "These are younguns." [which is why it's light combat, as people are just one-shotting everything]

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Went out to the valley and back. Seems to be isolated so far to the walls of this town."

Irval says, "They are meant to test our defensives."

Cryheart says, "They could be testing us."

Irval says, "Err defenses."

Irval says, "Probing attacks."

Kiyna says, "I felt pretty tested last time."

Irval says, "They'll come with the snow blind."

Irval says, "Using the snowstorm as cover."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Lower Dragonsclaw is having some fighting."

[light combat]

[General] Kataric thinks, "Man, I hope it's a return to hobgoblin rock style hunting."

[Realm] Geijon asks, "Let's keep these location reports open. We got folks in th' towers?"

[Realm] Guarrin thinks, "Back at west gate. Minor skirmish."

[light combat]

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Younguns first to test us."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "North gate has intermittent light contact. Nothing overly deadly, yet."

[General] Jiarine thinks, "Frost giants heading down toward the glacier."

[Realm] Kiyna asks, "Still no indication of an incoming caravan?"

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Golems do wrap around to the bridge south of town. Nothing much yet but a start."

[Realm] Guarrin thinks, "No sight of a caravan yet."

[Realm] Bristenn thinks, "I've had minimal contact."

[Realm] Tikba shortly thinks, "There are animals in town."

[Realm] Vaemyr thinks, "No Caravan is expected tonight, this is an attack by Gnul, because the only way he can keep his forces united is to attack us."

Alosaka whispers to the group, "I can't tell if they're sending their weaker forces to the gates and holding others in reserve yet, but that's what it feels like."

Irval says, "Animals got through the gates somehow."

[Realm] Vaemyr thinks, "In fact if you see a caravan it's likely a trap."

Irval says, "I'll split off and try to put them down."

[Realm] Kelfyr thinks, "Some inside the gates, still fairly weak comparatively."

[light combat]

[Realm] Geijon thinks, "Need everyone pitching in tonight."

[Realm] Alosaka thinks, "North gate is holding well. Weaker forces attacking here."

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Nooo, he doesnt need that, every creature out there that is feeling threatened by these Imperals is enough to keep them working together, one day you may see that Councilor."

[light combat]

[General] Chamorr thinks, "West gate quiet, intermiianr engagement."

[Realm] Tikba thinks, "The enemies within the gates are safe for most any of us to face, it seems."

Leafiara says, "At this point I'm half-ready to assume this is all a distraction. They're sending their weakest nothings when they're already very familiar with the town's strongest."

Leafiara

Irval says, "Town s been cleared for now."

Kiyna says, "Calm before the storm... where are they all... watch out for griffins."

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Ling if you wanna make your way here now, I'm sure some will be needing your help."

[General] Nyaria thinks, "You might wanna head down soon then."

Irval says, "Few orcs and trolls in there."

Irval says, "Well were..."

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Starting to see frost giants now."

[General] Linguist exclaims, "Be there soon, on my way!"

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "I would hesitate to say no caravan is expected, we are not privy to all the information. We are not aware of one, certainly...but I wouldn't assume anything if we do see one, simply use caution."

Bellaja says, "Please.. don't worry about pulling off my shoe if one grabs me."

[General] Nyaria thinks, "Be careful outside the gates."

Through some reinforced wooden gates, you hear Gutstorm yell, "Coasht clear?"

Ulfwine says, "I was just up on Glatoph, looks like I got out just in time."

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Storm giants, titans, frost giants near the outpost and heading north."

Mourdeyan yells, "Sure, c'mon out barehanded Guts!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "All cleared?"

Rasson says, "Qulf or strays followed you here."

Irval says, "We should head them off at the pass."

Irval says, "On the way here."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "Those who wish to aid but who can't stand toe to toe with any of the foe, you can use the ballistas or the towers as well."

Mourdeyan yells, "Don't see a thing!"

Irval asks, "Force them into a bottle neck?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We ally wit Gnul yet?"

Speaking to Irval, Alosaka says, "It's dangerous, but there's a fork in the path in the Upper Trollfang."

Mourdeyan quietly asks, "Regained yer mind yet?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Irval says, "Exactly what I was thinking."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Or wit, I guess."

Speaking to Irval, Alosaka says, "Southeast leads to the Glatoph and Thanatoph, southwest to the Sentoph."

[General] Tservin thinks, "Pick me Pick me."

[Realm] Guarrin thinks, "Clearing between Outpost and the west gate."

[light combat]

Leafiara asks, "You... all do remember they have griffins who can just fly over said chokepoint and are their most dangerous forces, right?"

Alosaka says, "Certainly, I'm not sure all this... strength is needed here."

[Realm] Geijon thinks, "Some ice trolls a bit tougher."

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Arcanist and mastiff west of town."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "I did say to watch the skies."

Irval says, "I will go ahead."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Until it is."

Irval says, "If you hear my screams."

Stormyrain says, "We'll know what happened."

[Realm] Vaemyr thinks, "Krag dwellers, Minotaurs around upper Trollfang now, they seem to be around the same strength as their counterparts in Wehntoph."

Irval says, "Well you know..."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "We Ally wit Gnul and da impsh go way right?"

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Sentinels near the camps."

[General] Jiarine thinks, "Glowing circles too."

Alosaka says, "Stronger forces are assaulting near the Outpost."

[General] Kelfyr asks, "Did that boulder change your opinion of him?"

(Gutstorm winds up.)

Gutstorm pinches Ulfwine!

Ulfwine cackles!

Mourdeyan thumps Gutstorm!

[General] Asthenea asks, "Is it safe walking to the landin?"

Cryheart says, "They are getting closer then."

[General] Fugue asks, "How do you use the towers?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Hands off."

[Realm] Vaemyr thinks, "Running into stronger critters as I approach Danjirland."

[light combat]

Pukk says, "Some youngish critters on lower dragonsclaw but that is all."

Speaking drunkenly to Ulfwine, Gutstorm slurs, "Me kint keep track all her boyfren."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "He is my squire."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh."

[General] Fugue thinks, "Augh, bad stuff there."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Geijon ish me shquire."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Ask my Husband how many."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "He's right there."

Hordes of ogres, orcs, trolls, and giants emerge from the environs, pushing on the Upper Trollfang, the Lower Dragonsclaw, the Grasslands, outside of town, and even within Wehnimer's Landing itself!

[Light combat; yes, really. They're still not at North Gate yet.]

Speaking drunkenly to Goldstr, Gutstorm slurs, "Eh bebbe."

[General] Pukk thinks, "If you are young and need to leave town be careful. The forest is extra scary tonight."

Leafiara says, "Ah, they're finally done playing."

Ulfwine says, "Here it comes."

[General] Azclepi exclaims, "Hordes of ogres, orcs, trolls, and giants emerge from the environs, pushing on the Upper Trollfang, the Lower Dragonsclaw, the Grasslands, outside of town, and even within Wehnimer's Landing itself!"

Alosaka says, "We should set a patrol in town."

[General] Cryheart asks, "How is the town doing?"

Ulfwine says, "I'll go, likely too dangerous out here for me."

Ulfwine says, "Or will be."

[General] Pekka thinks, "Good luck and best wishes, defenders."

Alosaka says, "Join me for a street patrol."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Dun stomp em, think of the mess on yer boots love."

Alosaka's group just went east.

[General] Lylia thinks, "Some of them are carrying feras weapons; take care."

Leafiara says, "That.. isn't the way to the streets..."

[General] Pekka thinks, "The square and adjecent areas seem clear."

Alosaka's group just arrived.

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Company South ring road."

Alosaka's group just went east.

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Nice."

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Minotaur magus and stonecallers coming from the grasslands now."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We need a bard."

Alosaka's group just arrived.

Alosaka's group just went through some reinforced wooden gates.

Leafiara says, "Third time's a charm."

Stormyrain says, "Good luck finding one."

[Realm] Geijon thinks, "Bigger ones."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Okay, town has some critters in it now. All should be wary."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dem our arrowsh?"

[Realm] Alosaka thinks, "Bears, lions and orcs in town, north ring road, be wary."

[Realm] Puptilian thinks, "Ok harder eneimes coming from daijarland around hill trolls."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ooooh, we gotta bard."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Thanks for the scouting."

Young militia soldiers clash in the streets with the ogres, orcs and other creatures.

Speaking to Peche, Nairena says, "Its about to be a fun night."

Sebthyl huskily says, "Lot o nasty to sw."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Seems our young trainees are helping inside of town."

[light combat]

[Realm] Alosaka thinks, "Large groups of enemies on North Ring, but still weak."

From nearby, you hear Vakant yell, "Come east!"

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Still got low skilled criters on south ring road."

You peer east and see ...

[Wehnimer's, Exterior]

You can hear the noisy bustle around the land gates to the west. Over the din, you can just barely hear the sound of the surf from the northeast. You also see a rust-covered steel golem, an imposing pale white ice troll that is lying down, the Vakant disk, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a rust-covered steel golem, a thick dark granite krynch, a sun-bleached pine gate, a gleaming fireleaf airship, a worn redwood gangplank and a multicolored silk pavilion.

Also here: Sebthyl, Vakant

Earthdiver says, "Oof."

[Leafi and Gutstorm go obliterate them in about 20 seconds]

From nearby, you hear Cryheart yell, "Kill em!"

Vakant yells, "Come east!"

[General] Geijon thinks, "Go atleast in pairs."

Vakant darkly says, "There we go."

[back to North Gate]

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]

Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. You also see the Peche disk, a majestic king cheetah, the Diablic disk, the flaming Nairena disk, some light leather, a wooden shield, a short sword, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, a mushroom and potato cake, a fluffy white cat that is sitting, the Bellaja disk and the Wayside inn.

Stormyrain says, "They're dead now."

[General] Tservin thinks, "Don't tell me what to do, you're not hte boss of me."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We winned."

[light combat]

Cryheart says, "All were dead."

Earthdiver says, "Southwest."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "32 of dem."

[General] Kelfyr thinks, "The lions and bears don't seem nearly as hardy as their like the last time around."

[light combat]

[General] Nalver thinks, "Gnul! We need to talk."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "An yet they missed ye."

Earthdiver says, "Oof."

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Gnul we have more in common then you think, unless you are actually siding with the Imperials and this is only a ruse to get us to look away from what they are truly doing."

Tougher Battles

[combat finally intensifies here, so cutting to brutal editing for the remaining ~76,000 lines]

The wind picks up, swirling around you violently!

[heralds the appearance of swirling tempest witches, which I think were new to to this story]

[General] Sablo thinks, "Gnul's got forces moving in more, we'll work to cut them off."

[General] Sablo asks, "Where are they hitting the hardest currently? How are your gates?"

[random snapshot of the situation, to answer the question...]

Also here: the body of Miss Chandrellia who is lying down, Lord Kezoku, Event Planner Leafiara, Goldstr, Earthdiver, the body of Stormyrain who is lying down, Bernadette

[General] Sablo thinks, "We will push to the forest, there's forces between the camp and outpost."

Siege Weapons

Trees shift in the distance as a grinding sound echoes in the woods.

Trees shift in the distance as a grinding sound echoes in the woods.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH! Spheres of glowing fire arc up into the night sky, burning like reddish-gold comets and arc up from the Upper Trollfang and descend upon the town of Wehnimer's Landing!

[General] Gnul thinks, "Nothing makes my stomach rumble more than the smell of scorched humans."

[General] Gnul thinks, "Yes, scurry off to your little trophy room, we'll come for you there soon enough..."

[General] Gnul thinks, "When it is all ended, I will be as strong and sturdy as ever, while you will be dust, buried beside your imperial bedfellows."

[General] Sablo thinks, "Big mouth for a giant rock."

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH! Spheres of fire once more streak through the night, burning a path through the sky and falling snow as they descend upon Wehnimer's Landing near the Raging Thrak Inn! Flames erupt on the outside of the Inn!

[General] Gnul thinks, "Run out you little whimpering rodents."

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH! Spheres of fire once more streak through the night, burning a path through the sky and falling snow as they descend upon Wehnimer's Landing near Moot Hall!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH! Spheres of fire once more streak through the night, burning a path through the sky and falling snow as they descend upon Wehnimer's Landing near the North Docks!

Several imperial settlers can be seen running into the gates of Wehnimer's Landing, buckets of water in their hands sloshing about as they try to help put out the fires!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOOSH! Fiery spheres lift up from the Upper Trollfang and bend out into the Lower Dragonsclaw, descending upon the imperial campsite! Fires erupt upon impact and dozens of settlers scream in mixed horror and agony, as some of them rush about ignited on fire! Smoke billows up from the campsite.

[General] Sablo exclaims, "The camp! Buckets on it! Keep fighting the fires in all locations!"

[General] Gnul thinks, "Burning imperials smell more greasy than you Landing rodents."

Gold-winged griffins descend from the peaks of Thanatoph and soar down towards the northern edge of the Upper Trollfang, swooping down upon those trying to break the catapults.

Smoke and screams still drift up from the imperial campsite.

Gold-winged griffins descend from the peaks of Thanatoph and soar down towards the northern edge of the Upper Trollfang, swooping down upon those trying to break the catapults.

A dozen golden griffins descend from the Thanatoph, veering towards Wehnimer's Landing!

A bloodied settler runs past screaming, "We need help! Please! Come stop them from destroying our outpost!"

Dark hooded figures race along rooftops in town, firing arrows down upon gremlins and lions and bears...oh my.

Combat Exchange

[General] Gnul thinks, "You fight endlessly, it is almost impressive. If only you fought so hard for freedom."

The final one being opposing me." [unclear who he was responding to if even either of them (the only two to think on General between those thoughts), so I left it in]

[General] Gnul thinks, "Dust to dust, is all I will leave you."

[General] Gnul thinks, "Every battle, we grow, we learn. You have not. Sleep this night, and kiss the morning you awaken, for they are numbered."

You also see a rolton that appears dead, a rolton that appears dead, the flaming Nairena disk, the Geijon disk, a wooden shield and the Wayside inn. Dwi and Mongonator followed.

Sablo pants.

[...bit of a weird spot to end on, as Leafi was just passing through and didn't even notice Sablo there as she moved on immediately afterward, but this is the final thing I saw out of NPC actions or monsterbold dialogue for the night, so it is indeed the ending point due to perspective. If anything further happened from here, then it wasn't over ESP and she wasn't around to see it.]
