[Duskruin] - Event Opening Change

Oops! There was a mix-up with the calendar, and Duskruin will be opening on August 8th at 9PM Eastern instead of August 15th as originally listed.

Booklets will still be on sale until August 31st at 11:55 PM Eastern.

The event will close Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:59 PM.

We're working to get everything updated to reflect the updated information, but if you notice anything with dates other than the one in this post, please let Tivvy know.

[Duskruin] - Some HESS Information

HESS and the Annex will not be open when the event opens. We're aiming for an 8/15 opening.

New services this run:

• Transmute Greater Fyrswn'ava - 250,000 BS
• Script Add: Spore Weapon - 50,000 BS
• Script Add: Nightshroud Cloak - 50,000 BS

Note: All script add services add the script at the base tier with no additional unlocks.

Major Enchant (+5 enchant, up to 15x) will be returning for this run. It will not be available at the February 2026 run.

Teaser 1 - Twisted Kicks

New footwear available at Duskruin in August 2025.

Just like Twisted Weapons, the Twisted Flares (Tier 3) unlock on Twisted Kicks can flare in addition to the standard ability flares. Acid Edition comes with standard "acid" ability flares when sold off the shelf with a +20 enchantment.

Teaser 2 - A Wild Teaser... Revealed

So, now that I've had my fun, I can go ahead and make this post to reveal that which I've been teasing (and I've been soooooo excited to do so!)

Releasing this DR, is the new wood material, fyrswn'ava. It is an aelotoi-cultivation of the crape myrtle tree and produces sap flares when crafted into runestaves, bows, or shields.

These flares are tiered. At the base tier, Sprite's Kiss causes physical conditions against a target, either rooted or blinded, if the flare hits the target's eye or head. The upgraded tier, Amber Grave, pairs a mental condition with the physical: either terrified, confused, or clumsy.

The material's base enchant is +20, and will be available for purchase in The Celadon Thread.

Special thanks to GM Ethereal who suggested the tiering and the mental effects AND coded this wonderful idea for me to release. He's a real one.

Have you ever wondered what happens to the bloodied weapons, shields, and armor removed from your fallen opponents in the Duskruin Arena? Have you screamed in delight as you land a hit so bloody your opponent slams to the floor, dead as a salmon bear snack? What about having an uncontrollable urge to make that mangy bandit marauder even more dead, only to think it's a little bit late for that? Have you stamped in angry annoyance as you swing and make a clean miss?

...You probably get the idea, but if these sound familiar, you might want to swing by Aggro Culture to browse and add a weapon to your bandolier that will help channel those feelings into something more useful.
