Oteska's Haven was smuggler settlement north of River's Rest named after a famous pirate.
Oteska's Haven was established by Oteska the Corsair during the Grand Era of Piracy, which ran from 4275 to 4325. Oteska's Marsh survived the decline of piracy and was inhabited until the arrival of Syssanis in 5006. Over the next two years, mysterious beasts began stalking river rats, who began to turn up missing. Eventually, the settlement was abandoned out of fear for safety, and its inhabitants replaced with trolls, undead, and hags. A shrine to Niima remained the only safe place in the settlement ever after.
