On the first weekend of Olaesta, the harbor market of Ornath, closed for much of the year, throws open its gates for a highly anticipated annual event. Farmers, poulterers, shepherds, and artisans from across the island descend upon the bustling square, eager to hawk their wares, test their skills, and stake their claim in the island's most prestigious culinary and craft competitions. For one weekend, the market is a whirlwind of voices calling out their goods, the scent of grilled fish and sweet preserves thick in the air, and the clatter of craftsmen setting up displays of finely woven textiles, carved driftwood trinkets, and freshly fired pottery.

Letters have begun appearing in various towns inviting citizens to take part in the contests of Bericsaba Market. The author appears to be Fevronia a sister of the Order of Lumnasi Viragos and a member of the Bericsaba Market planning committee.

The 2025 Bericsaba Market runs Friday, April 4th, 2025 at 9pm - Midnight, Sunday, April 6th, 2025 and takes place in Sleeping Drake Harbor on the Isle of Ornath. It is hosted by the Order of Lumnasi Viragos.

A bookish Ornathian clerk rests behind a map-carved olivewood counter, the elongated surface extending at an odd angle to showcase a velvet-padded chest, the container covered in stylized calligraphy. The faint scent of oud and saffron drift within the enclosed space, the aroma emanating from a peahen-shaped censer.

Pale wood forms the kiosk's frame, its surface sanded smooth where knots and grain swirl in quiet patterns. A simple awning of woven flax stretches overhead, its edges stitched with geometric borders. Neatly folded blankets rest upon a counter, their vibrant hues spilling across the pale surface. Hanging from wooden pegs, shawls and cloaks drape in layered cascades, their fringed hems shifting as air moves through the passage. Beneath the counter, small baskets house bolts of fabric.

Open crates overflowing with bolts of cloth are piled next to half-full racks of clothing, overflow inventory for the showroom. An open space in the room's center has been lined with a circular hide rug. A narrow wooden door in the paneling leads back to the showroom.
