In the year 5125, the mana storms that had long made the southern seas impassable began to recede for the first time in living memory, opening access to waters that had been unreachable for generations. Among the most significant developments was the newfound ability to reach the Isle of Ornath without the aid of Chronomages, something previously thought impossible without their assistance.

The shift sparked excitement among sailors, cartographers, and traders, who saw opportunity in the newly navigable southern routes. For nearly a year, the seas remained relatively calm, and cautious optimism began to take hold among those eager to explore the newly opened waters.

Then something changed. Strange and powerful storms have begun to rise from the seas east of Ornath, traveling west and north toward the continent of Elanith. Unlike the conventional storms of the region, these disturbances carry an unsettling and unnatural quality, stirring unease among seasoned mariners and scholars alike. Whether they are a sign that the mana storms are returning, or something else entirely, remains unknown.

The southern seas, so recently full of promise and possibility, are beginning to feel dangerous once more.

  • 06/14/2026 - Storms start up in Ornath, Brisker's Cove, River's Rest, and Ta'Nalfein. The seas are rough and stormy. Scribes post warnings and an invitation to Ornath on message boards around Elanith.
  • 06/15/2026 - Storms progress to Kraken's Fall, Ta'Vaalor, and Solhaven. A doomsayer appears in the streets of Kraken's Fall. Captain Igges appears in Ta'Vaalor to discuss the terrible turn of the tide.
  • 06/16/2026 - Representatives from across Elanith ventured to the Isle of Ornath to meet regarding the expanding storms.
  • 06/17/2026 - Saffaey, one of the "test subjects" who returned to Solhaven from the Isle of Ornath, appeared in North Market still in a confused state.
