Melgorehn's Aura is a defensive spell that causes a luminescent aura to surround the caster. It is selfcast so won't help non-wizards unless used from a magic item or scroll. It cannot be imbedded using Magic Item Create (420).
Factors Affecting Melgorehn's Aura
- Training in Wizard Base spells increases the duration of this spell, as well as the efficacy.
- For each rank of Wizard Base spells known, the duration of the spell is extended by 60 seconds from its base 1200 second duration.
- If cast from a scroll the duration is the 1200 second base time plus 60 seconds for each two ranks of Arcane Symbols.
- If cast from a magic item the duration is calculated as found here.
- For each rank of Wizard Base spells known, the DS is increased by +1 for every Wizard Base spell ranks known over 13, and the Elemental Target Defense bonus increases by +1 for every 3 Wizard Base spell ranks known over 13. The mana cost also increases +1 for each 3 Wizard ranks known over 13.
- The DS provided by the spell caps at the character's level. So extreme over-training in the Wizard Base list for more DS is not recommended.
Spell Usage
This spell provides +10 to physical DS and +20 to Elemental TD.
