Arcane Blast is an attack spell designed specifically to ease mana constraints early on in the careers of pure professions. As such, Arcane Blast is unique among spells as it requires no mana to cast and it is known innately (without training Spell Research) to all pures. In trade for these advantages, unlike other spells, it will induce five (5) seconds of hard roundtime for the caster (which is ordinarily three (3) seconds of cast roundtime for most spells). Furthermore, it cannot be used with or gains no advantage by coupling with a host of other properties where its zero mana cost would be overly powerful. |

Spell Usage
Arcane Blast uses mechanics similar to Hand of Tonis (505), where the type of attack depends on the caster's stance. If the spell is cast from either defensive or guarded stance, a warding attack spell will be cast. If it is cast from any lower stance (usually offensive for the most effect), instead a bolt spell is cast.
The warding version is functionally identical to Force Orb (1201) in terms of the type and amount of damage done, whereas the bolt version uses a damage factor identical to Minor Shock (901) except it causes impact damage.
