Stalking and Hiding is the primary skill considered with the stealth system.
Ranks and Training Costs
Type | Square | Semi | Pure | ||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Profession | Rogue | Warrior | Monk | Bard | Paladin | Ranger | Cleric | Empath | Savant | Sorcerer | Wizard |
Max Ranks Per Level | 3 | 2 | - | 2 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 1 | - | 1 | 1 |
Training Point Cost | 1/1 | 3/2 | - | 3/2 | 4/4 | 2/1 | 5/4 | 5/4 | - | 5/4 | 5/4 |
Professional bonuses in the ability to stalk and hide without detection are enormous. For example, a single-trained rogue at level 100 is significantly superior to a double-trained warrior. [1]
Stalk/Hide skill bonus adds directly to the roll. For example, if you have 50 ranks in Stalk/Hide, you're adding 150 to your roll vs having no ranks. Using the combat maneuver Vanish with 3x Stalk/Hide is always superior to regular Hiding with 2x/Stalk/Hide, all else equal.
Racial bonuses and Discipline also factor into hiding.
