Twisted armor
Twisted armor is scripted armor that debuted at the August 2024 run of Duskruin, in a Bloodriven Village shop called Coalescence. They were created by GameMaster Marstreforn. They are the armor counterpart to Twisted weapons and Twisted shields. Acid Edition, which is the only released version of this armor, comes with acid flares and a +20 enchantment. They are constructed of black alloy, leather, or cloth. Tier 1 (OTS)At tier 1 (as sold in the shop) this armor has standard (Category B) flares. Some messaging varies slightly based on demeanor of wearer and type of armor.Analyze* Twisted Armor - Acid Edition * Available Actions * BOW * CLENCH * RUB * TILT * WEAR | REMOVE Merchants that are skilled with this type of armor may also customize the following: * Glow (color): "green" * Core (article): "glyph-etched" * Core (noun): "crystal" * Effect: "virescent" ** Flares: "a twisted, prismatic spray of acid" (not unlocked) Combat Unlocks: - Unlocks increase the potential of abilities gained from previously unlocked tiers. ** Twisted Retaliation (PROD): NOT UNLOCKED - Chance for a reactive maneuver flare (acid) when struck by, or evading, an attack or bolt. - Toggle ON/OFF with PROD. Removing the armor will toggle flares OFF. - Will only flare this way while in an aggressive stance. *** Twisted Augmentations : NOT UNLOCKED - Chance for a bonus to defense against hostile warding spells. - Chance for a penalty to maneuver abilities used against you. - Will only activate while in an aggressive stance. **** Twisted Synergy (TOUCH): NOT UNLOCKED - Bonus to flare chance of your Twisted Armor, Twisted Shield, and Twisted Weapon abilities. - Removing the armor will immediately end the bonus granted by Twisted Synergy. - Twisted Synergy lasts for 30 seconds and has a 5 minute cooldown. The twisted armor also adds the following line to the end of the armor's LOOK description: Unworn: Worn: Tier 2 - Twisted RetaliationAt tier 2, the armor gains reactive (Category D) flares on a successful evade, or if hit by an attack, while in an aggressive stance (forward, advance, or offensive). These flares use a standard maneuver roll to see if they hit. They are toggled ON or OFF with PROD while being worn. The armor's description changes when Twisted Retaliation is toggled ON or OFF, and reverts to the OFF position when removed.
This tier also allows access to the TURN verb, which can toggle an added line below the wearer's inventory when someone looks at them: A wavering haze of virescent fumes surrounds XXXXX's feet, clinging to the ground beside her.Usage
Tier 3 - Twisted AugmentationsAt tier 3, the armor gains a standard flare chance to grant a +5 bonus to TD against hostile warding spells. It also gains a standard flare chance to penalize maneuver-based spells and abilities made against the wearer by 5. These abilities will only activate while in an aggressive stance (forward, advance, or offensive). Additionally, the armor gains a bonus to its chance to hit with Twisted Retaliation.Tier 4 - Twisted SynergyAt tier 4, the armor gains a buff/cooldown ability called Twisted Synergy. Twisted Synergy can be activated using TOUCH while being worn, and requires Twisted Retaliation to be toggled ON. This buff lasts for 30 seconds, and has a 5 minute cooldown. (This cooldown applies to both the character and the armor.) While empowered with this buff, all Category D flares and abilities from the worn armor, and any Twisted weapons and/or a Twisted shield being held gain an increase in their flare rates. At this tier, Twisted Augmentations instead have a chance to grant a +10 bonus to TD against hostile warding spells, and instead have a chance to penalize maneuver-based spells and abilities made against the wearer by 10. Additionally, the armor gains a more significant bonus to its chance to hit with Twisted Retaliation.Usage
Tier 5 - Synergy BoostWhile empowered with Twisted Synergy, the wearer will benefit from a +15 bonus to Attack Strength. At this tier, Twisted Augmentations instead have a chance to grant a +15 bonus to TD against hostile warding spells, and instead have a chance to penalize maneuver-based spells and abilities made against the wearer by 15.
