The WorldGate was first released as an inscribed heavy granite contraption ringed with basalt at the Grand Auction of 5123. The contraption allows the user to open a rift from one town to any other town (excluding Mist Harbor). The rift will remain open for 2 minutes and allows the user and their group to pass through. The contraption can be used 2 times every 2 weeks.

Analyze

You analyze your heavy granite contraption and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
This device can open portals to distant locales that can be traversed in either direction.  Some areas may disrupt its ability to function; attempting to activate it in those areas will NOT consume a charge.

You can LOOK at the contraption to attempt to ascertain its current status, or READ it to ascertain its current destination.  GRIP will change destinations, and RUB will attempt to activate it.

This item can be altered by a willing merchant but with significant restrictions.  Noteworthy ones are:
  - The alterations cannot contradict any messaging this item can produce.
  - The item must remain some form of stone.
  - The item must be round.  This does not need to be in the description, but it cannot contradict it.
  - The item must have runes on it.  This also does not need to be the description, but it cannot contradict it.

You get no sense of whether or not the contraption may be further lightened.

Usage

GRIP You grip the heavy granite contraption firmly between your hands. A flash of static tickles your mind before resolving into a myriad of images... As Daenamaryllis grips her heavy granite contraption between her hands, the stone disc within slowly spins within the outer ring with the grating sounds of stone grinding against stone. It stops a moment later with the outer ring indicating a disc of polished platinum set within the disc.

The runes glow with verdant green light as the heavy granite contraption begins thrumming with immense power. You feel the hairs on your arm standing up in response.
You sense that further manipulation of the heavy granite contraption might unleash the energy contained within.

You trace the runes of your heavy granite contraption.
The verdant green light emanating from the runes suddenly grows to near-blinding intensity as it engulfs your heavy granite contraption. Suddenly, a jagged arc of power leaps from the contraption at a point in the air nearby!
As the arc focuses on a single point, you hear a loud ripping noise. Abruptly, a flickering verdant green rift forms.
The arc shoots off through the rift and into the unknown.

LOOK (rift) The verdant green rift shifts erratically, as if unable or unwilling to maintain a consistent shape or form. PEER (rift) A myriad of images twist and flow before your eyes as you try to focus on what lies beyond an unstable verdant green rift. After a moment, the imagery resolves into something more stable and you see... This section has not been added yet; please add to it now!
