The Papermaker was first sold in the shop In Print Condition on the Isle of Ornath's shopping center, Agora Promenade for 350,000 silvers.

It was introduced in 5122.

Since 5125, it is now available only at Rumor Woods, in the Rumor Woods shop named Enlightened Pages, for 2000 raikhen.

Note: The mechanism can also be charged by casting Minor Shock (901) at it. It may also be able to be charged via elemental cores.

Analyze

The Papermaker was created by the Order of the Lumnasi Viragos on the Isle of Ornath.

Because the Papermaker has a stock LOOK, you can't give this a LOOK, but you can give it a LONG.

Tier 5 - Envelopes

A mechanism that can create stationery or mail paper, postcards, bouquet paper, and envelopes.

Tier 6 - Butcher Paper

By adding a candle (any common candle will do) to the papermaker, you store 10 doses of wax and can turn a piece of paper into Butcher Paper.

Butcher Paper can be used to store a variety of food items.

Additionally, you can apply fletching glue to the paper and turn it into a waxed bag. Bags can be used to hide your bottles when you want to drink from them, or to store other foods.

Lastly, you can also write small notes on the butcher paper and the bags. Once you do this, it will change the LONG description of your butcher paper to include the note. You can then write on it again for a longer note.

Please note, character counts apply.

Tier 7 - Organic Paper

By feeding certain organic material to your papermaker you can create very specific paper types. The options are as follows:

  • Bark will produce amate and the type of tree the bark was obtained from (if present) will always display.
  • Cane will produce bagasse paper.
  • Cotton boll produces rag paper.
  • Fronds produce <frond adjective> paper.
  • Reed or Sedge produces textured papyrus.
  • Roses produce naevela.
Paper created with this unlock can be either stationery or mail paper.

Tier 8 - Treat Box

Utilizing any paper-making materials, you can create a treat box. Once made, the treatbox can be customized in the following ways:
Once the design process is complete, the box will become a wrapped treat box ready to give away. You may customize it in the following ways:

Box Color: (ADD a Dye) not yet designed
Box Shape: (TURN to shape) not yet selected
Valid shapes: heart, round, star, oval, square, hexagonal, octagonal, scalloped, rectangular
Contents: (PUT items into box) contains treats

To add color, ADD a dye to the box.
To set a shape, TURN the box to a shape name (e.g., TURN box to HEART).
To fill the box with treats, PUT treats into the box.

Once you are done designing and the box is full, close it and then WRAP while holding a ribbon or yarn. This will lock in the design and use the ribbon or yarn for open/close.

Analyze

Created using the famous papermaker, the box can be customized to your liking. Please be sure to GLANCE at the box to see what your customization options are. Once you've filled the box and completed the design, close it and WRAP it while holding ribbon or yarn to lock in the design and ready it for gifting.

Tier 9 - Award

Award Ribbon
Once done the design process is complete, the award will become a ribbon. You may design it in the following ways:

Noun of Award: ribbon
Primary Body: (Add a Ribbon) blank
Embroidery: (Add an Ore) blank
Short Missive: (Whisper a Missive) blank
Back Missive: (Write a Missive) blank

The final design will be:
a color fabric ribbon trailing a metal type-embroidered missive

When looked at, it will display: The award is crafted of a color fabric ribbon and fitted with a simple pin that allows it to be worn. A short missive, embroidered in metallic type thread, reads, "Short Award Reason."

To customize any of these fields, TURN the award to the design field and then ADD the necessary item.
To add a short missive, WHISPER to the award MISSIVE followed by your short missive.
To add a readable description, WRITE on the award.

Once done designing, TWIST to lock in the design.

Once you've completed the design, you can TWIST to lock in the design. This will turn it into your award and prevent the recipient from changing the designs and fields.

Additional Information

Show

This item has a hard-coded show that cannot be changed:

Thin and flat, the small machine resembles a slightly oversized cigar box with lacewood panels on all sides. On each of the short, flat sides is a plaque with tiny instructions and filigreed label frames, one displaying "a piece of" and the other stating "declaration." A third frame on one of the longer sides reads "writing" and sits amid bronze toggles, dials, switches, buttons, a window, and two glass tubes; both that are empty. The final long side has a pull handle of round metal that provides access to some sort of drawer, and the lid is decorated with a woodburned dahlia design.

Altering

Papermakers can only have long descriptions. They can have several components customized by any merchant willing to work on them. Component examples include:

  • Cover Design: a woodburned dahlia design
  • Toggle Material: bronze
  • Label Frames: filigreed
  • Mechanism Material: lacewood
  • Metal Pull Handle: round metal
