Albatross
The Albatross is a gambling riverboat that has exchanged hands multiple times over the course of its lifespan. Its debut featured the boat docking at various towns and cities, typically Wehnimer's Landing or Solhaven, for several days to a week at a time. While docked, it featured a variety of automated gambling machines, live GM-hosted gambling games, merchant services, and a small amount of shopping opportunities.
It is now docked at the Wehnimer's Landing Middle Dock and periodically hosts games and gambling events, such as Dragon Bones with Captain Jellybeard.
History
The riverboat was originally owned by Captain Lahveew. Ownership was transferred to Captain Gostahl in early 2012, with a tie in to the Mayor Walkar storyline as the reason behind the transfer. Captain Parlay won the Albatross from Gostahl and is the current owner.
Following the July 2013 run of the Albatross, the riverboat was repurposed from a recurring free festival to a pay event, which operated under the name of Albatross Riverboat Excursions. Information regarding runs for the paid event are in that category.
In January 2024, the Albatross docked Wehnimer's Landing for a final time, making the Middle Dock its new permanent home, where it remains open for automated gambling and limited shopping. Live GM-hosted gambling is sometimes held on the boat.
