Summary

Krolvin warlord Tyrrax parlays with Landing adventurers, along with a captive half-elven man in tow wearing a militia tabard and carrying a tome to record Tyrrax's journey. Through an extended dialogue, Tyrrax reveals that he used a moonlight-absorbing gemstone from Praxopius' cache in Idolone to learn about the Lalk Morgil, which is "words within brass," learn about the "Shrike" and the "Courier" at the edge of Darkstone Bay, and acquire a hand pylon.

Tyrrax eventually agrees to a week of raising no weapons against the Landing if they in turn raise no weapons against him, leaving adventurers to convey the situation to Mayor Thadston and contemplate matters like the possible relevance of the Brass Tower, Octaven, Amos, and any mutual associates of theirs and Praxopius'.

Log

The Night in Thoughts

[OOC note: Doing this log a bit differently. Leafiara wasn't there, so first I'll share her perspective of just listening to thoughts from afar and then go through the perspective of characters who were present to piece it back together. Then we'll go to the end of the log, where she convenes with everyone after Tyrrax has left.]

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "I'm on the Sands with a few others at the moment."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Remember, no weapons out."

[General] Tyrrax thinks, "I arrive soon to your sands."

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Oh I know, I'm going to offer Tyrrax a gift of peace, this gold chain I just found."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "We await your arrival."

[General] Lylia thinks, "We await your arrival on the strand."

[General] Pukk thinks, "I will be here in town just in case."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "Knuckleheads are manning the tower in town just in case."

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Oohh Knuckleheads."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "Be mindful, those in town. Motes seem to be moving that way."

[General] Pukk thinks, "I'm here in town just in case."

[General] Pookia exclaims, "Knuckleheads are on alert! things seem clear!"

[General] Maevie asks, "Landing is ok so far?"

[General] Pukk thinks, "So far."

[General] Dergoatean thinks, "We're dealing with a mote here, folks."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Rumbling off in the distance."

Leafiara paces back and forth.

Leafiara says, "No word. But no news must be good news."

[General] Pukk asks, "Pookia are you in town?"

[General] Pookia exclaims, "Yeah im in the tower!"

[General] Pukk asks, "Okay good. See anything?"

[General] Pookia thinks, "Everythings normal up here! knuckleheads will keep an eye out."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Good. Thanks."

[General] Pookia asks, "Keep us filled in about whats going on at the beach! does tyraxx have crisis bangs yet?"

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "He has arrived and is stating he seeks one thing only, that is it thus far."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Town looks clear so far."

Leafiara says, "Ah, good, calm reports..."

Leafiara skeptically says, "So far."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "--he wishes the formula destroyed."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "A little single-minded isn't he."

[General] Pookia thinks, "Ugh.. men."

[General] Khoal thinks, "Look."

[General] Khoal thinks, "Ha."

[General] Pookia thinks, "No."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "No."

[General] Khoal exclaims, "Yes!"

[General] Sevanya exclaims, "No!"

[General] Khoal asks, "Please?"

[General] Pookia thinks, "No!~."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "Town is still clear. I saw the back of Pukk's head, though."

[General] Khoal thinks, "Just did a patrol of the harbor and nothing out of the ordinary."

[General] Gutstorm thinks, "Shoot it."

[General] Remizycas thinks, "Nope? yes? thats not gonna work."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "I just look at his head, and think, I am a sharpened log. I can land wherever I envision it."

[General] Remizycas thinks, "Well then thats his fault."

[General] Pietra thinks, "I would mind you to not be shooting logs at my Pukk's head, Knucklehead."

[General] Pookia exclaims, "We're just lookin at it!"

[General] Pookia thinks, "Its so big and easy to see."

[General] Pukk thinks, "I doubt they see me in the shadows. I am running around town and the roofs."

[General] Pietra thinks, "I will remove both of your heads if you do that."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "Let me dream my little dream."

[General] Pietra thinks, "Dream it in your own silence of mind."

[General] Pookia thinks, "We just wanted to keep you updated."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "You should feel better knowing the ballistas are protecting high value targets."

[General] Pietra thinks, "My love is not a high value target for you to daydream of shooting."

[General] Pookia thinks, "Nono your love is a high value target for THEM to start shootin! we're providing cover you see."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "There's two kinds of people in this world. The knuckleheads and ballista targets."

[General] Remizycas thinks, "I disagree."

[General] Pietra thinks, "I think the Knuckleheads need to reconsider that position."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "We literally work for the town. you're okay."

[General] Remizycas thinks, "Ok so u a ballista target or a knuckle? only two of us."

[General] Pietra thinks, "I literally work deeper in the blood of this town. And you are pondering shooting my fiancee in the head. So no."

[General] Pookia thinks, "Providing cover."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "Yes. Providing cover. So no one shoots your fiancee in the head."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "I will not reconsider providing cover to Councillor Pukk."

[General] Remizycas thinks, "Bah poison potiions work better."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Town all clear."

[General] Pookia exclaims, "Thanks pukk!"

[General] Sevanya exclaims, "Keep up the good work pukk!"

[General] Pietra thinks, "And yet you said you were thinking about the back of his head as a target. Get your thoughts in order, please."

[General] Pookia exclaims, "We'll continue keepin an eye out councillor!"

Leafiara considers, "No one's dying... must be going well..."

[General] Pookia thinks, "If i had a silver for every time someone told me to get my thoughts in order.."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Town all clear."

[General] The ghost of Remizycas thinks, "What going on in town invasion?"

[General] The ghost of Remizycas thinks, "Its been a week and a day or weekday day so bear with me."

[General] Pukk thinks, "No invasion. Just making sure there isn't one. We are on alert."

[General] The ghost of Remizycas happily thinks, "Tip goood."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "It has been revealed that there is a possiblity that the formula can only be recognized with the Alchemist's lens under the moonlight which is how Tyrrax revealed the writings that indicated the formula was being sent here."

[General] Directed to Kayse, Stormyrain thinks, "Thank you for that insight on the lens."

[General] Pookia thinks, "You're not outside steel golems."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Sevanya is doing okay. She is a bit spooked though."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "I like the taste of iron filings, Pukk. It's natural."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Town is all clear still."

[General] Realk thinks, "Just incase anyone wanted to check on us on teras... we are fine too.. unless this capricious island spirit looks at me with a wink again.. then i might have something to say."

[General] Pookia thinks, "Wink back."

[General] Pukk thinks, "It probably likes you."

[General] Sevanya exclaims, "You gotta go for it!"

[General] Pietra thinks, "Maybe the Knuckleheads can shoot it for you, Realk."

[General] Sevanya thinks, "Don't be a poor sport."

[General] Pookia thinks, "Id never get in the way of true love."

[General] Lankas asks, "Lalk Morgil is words within brass?"

[General] Pietra thinks, "Pukk...."

Gathering at the Sands

[OOC note: and now let's rewind to the start of the night, about 70 minutes earlier.]

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Xorus!"

Speaking to Pietra, Pukk says, "It's like a special power."

Thunder bellows in the distance.

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "It's my cake."

Maevie melodically says, "I do love the thunder."

Speaking to Pietra, Pukk says, "I love your cake."

Speaking squeakily in Halfling to Maevie, Braugi says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Xorus, Pukk exclaims, "Dear gods, Chandrellia is there already quick go stop her before she says something!"

Pukk exclaims, "Doom!"

Remizycas asks, "Where?"

Pukk says, "The Sands."

Lylia whispers to the group, "I recall there was mention made of not having weapons in hand. Of course, I shall have mine close."

Xorus designates Lylia as the new leader of the group.

Lylia asks, "Shall we?"

[The Black Sands]

A narrow strip of black sand winds between the pulsing sea and the huddled rocks. You look out at the dark waters of the bay, set against the grey sky. With the black sands beneath your feet and the frozen black lava behind you, you feel as though all the color has been blotted out of the world. You also see the Vaemyr disk, a handaxe, a handaxe, a handaxe, a green zircon, a handaxe, a star diopside, a dusky bush rat, the faenor Chandrellia disk inlaid with intersecting bands of jet, a handaxe, a handaxe, the web-draped Missoni disk, the rectangular Perigourd disk fashioned of oiled tanik, a lazy wild pure white dog, a handaxe, a tall wooden archery tower and the waters of Darkstone Bay.

Also here: Xorus, Pietra, Stormyrain, Astrilyn, Kiyna, Bernadette, Terabor, Dendum, Imperatrix Lylia, Vaemyr, Town Councilor Chandrellia, Gutstorm who is sitting, Missoni, Perigourd

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Leave it here."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "Welcome back."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "When me impote Tyrrax da more trash on ground da better me shpell."

The kappa sniffs around looking for something.

The kappa discovers Kayse who was hiding!

A greater kappa swings a handaxe at Kayse!

AS: +107 vs DS: +337 with AvD: +33 + d100 roll: +29 = -168

A clean miss.

Lylia mutters, "Such pests."

Shadows dance between Lylia's outstretched fingers as she issues a command in archaic Faendryl.

Lylia gestures at a greater kappa.

Lylia stares at a greater kappa.

CS: +542 - TD: +21 + CvA: +25 + d100: +68 == +614

Warding failed!

The greater kappa drops its handaxe.

The greater kappa lets out a blood curdling scream!

The greater kappa falls to the ground motionless.

Speaking to Lylia, Jara says, "Well done."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "How dat kappa find Kayse."

Lylia says, "Thank you, but if I cannot manage a kappa, I should just go straight back to bed and get up on the other side of it."

Rhaladin says, "Is nae jes any kappa, is a GREATER kappa."

From nearby, you hear Gutstorm yell, "Pie, it hadda box!"

Pietra yells, "Yoink!"

A golden mote of light appears on the horizon of Darkstone Bay, floating towards town.

Vaemyr says, "Welp."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Town?"

Lylia says, "There are already others in town to ensure its safety."

The golden mote of light floats over the Black Sands and begins to descend.

Vaemyr says, "I mean it might hit here first."

Astrilyn says, "Looks like it."

Lylia suggests, "Meeting a warlord with a large but visibly unarmed force is a sign of regard. It is more important to have a large contingent here."

Dergoatean exclaims, "Kappas all over! Be careful!"

Chandrellia says, "Yes, please keep weapons away for now."

The voice of Pietra says, "Or we're all going to die. Either way."

Speaking to Lylia, Missoni agrees, "It would not do to start on a note of distrust, either."

Perigourd says, "I think there's very little trust between both parties."

The voice of Pietra says, "Why would we ever trust this one."

Vaemyr says, "I feel we are already starting on that, but..."

Speaking to Perigourd, Chandrellia says, "Which is why its imperative we do what we can."

A golden mote of light descends to the sands.

Missoni says, "We are here."

Astrilyn says, "I'll give them a chance if they do come with no weapons."

Speaking drunkenly to Lylia, Gutstorm slurs, "Me will shtand behind ye."

Missoni says, "So we must think there is something to be gained."

Chandrellia says, "We do hope."

Vaemyr says, "Information is still valueable."

The golden mote of light begins to expand, stretching and churning as it spins in a circular manner.

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "Yes, their retreat and peaceable withdrawl from the bay."

Tayler says, "Kappa's dropped enough handaxes for a small army."

Bernadette softly says, "Dey leave em jessin case."

(Astrilyn looks about the crowd and settles for subtly ducking behind Perigourd.)

Bernadette softly says, "Hopin Tyraxx dun tink we gonna use em."

Bernadette softly says, "Weapins onna ground."

Speaking to Astrilyn, Missoni whispers aloud, "Mind you leave enough room for me."

Speaking to Perigourd, Astrilyn says, "You can be my shield if things go wrong."

Speaking to Missoni, Astrilyn exclaims, "Oh!"

Speaking in Halfling, Maevie melodically says something you don't understand.

Perigourd says, "I'm big enough to shield more than one, I think."

Speaking to Earthdiver, Perigourd says, "Not cherry, no."

Lylia says, "While we are outside the town's walls and thus its jurisdiction, we are also under some constraint from the mayor to make no binding agreements, I do believe."

A bright yellow portal rips open.

Lylia murmurs, "Not that I am concerned with political matters."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna corrects, "The councilors are."

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia asks, "When did this get discussed?"

Stormyrain says, "No agreement is to be made without him reviewing it is how I understood the message."

Lylia says, "I read a proclamation from the mayor's office."

From out of the portal, steps a brown-haired half-elven scholar, chains connected to runic bracers and anklets upon his arms and feet. A tome and quill reside in his hands.

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "Not that I would promise anything without discussing it with the Mayor and the other councilors first mind you."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye aint no orc."

>l scholar

The scholar is a tall half-elf with matted brown hair, greased by oil and sweat. His eyes are bright like green garnets, and his fingers are stained with ink. He holds a leather-bound tome in one hand, and a quill in another. Alloy chains connected rune-etched bracers on his wrists to similar anklets upon his feet.

Lylia says, "Naturally."

Astrilyn says, "You're not a krolvin..."

Maevie melodically says, "Course."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Raelee, ye know dish fella?"

Tyrrax's Statements

Next, stepping out of the portal comes a stout krolvin with dark-rimmed deep marigold eyes and silken indigo hair.

Missoni concernedly asks, "The twenty-sixth prisoner, perhaps?"

>l tyrra

You see Czag Pritz Tyrrax.

He appears to be a Krolvin.

He is short. He appears to be young and robust. He has dark-rimmed deep marigold eyes and bluish-grey skin. He has thick, silken indigo blue hair that covers his head and extends across his shoulders and down his back. He has an ape-like face, a flat nose and a stout muscular build.

He is in good shape.

He is wearing a thick silver signet, a stark white hand-held pylon, a faded necklace of jagged razern teeth, a shrunken gnome skull amulet, a stained deep blue jacket adorned with ornate gold-threaded epaulets, a sharp-edged dented mithril shield, a skull-clasped small grey satchel, a suit of sleek black hide brigandine, a crimson-streaked urglaes bracer, a series of eight rune-etched golden rings, a blackened mithril mesh belt, a burnished narrow wood scabbard, a gold-trimmed black hide hip-pouch, a pair of grey fitted trousers with bands of ebony-hued piping, and some wide cuffed steel-toed black hide boots.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Raelee says, "... no."

Tyrrax barks a stern greeting.

Astrilyn says, "Oh, there's one."

The half-elven scholar scribbles something down in his tome.

Xorus greets, "Czag Pritz."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "Greetings Tyrrax."

Speaking in Krolvin to Tyrrax, Kayse greets something you don't understand.

Tyrrax twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Tyrrax glances at Kayse.

Lylia barks, "Irkuk."

Kayse examines her fingernails.

Speaking in Krolvin, Tyrrax barks something you don't understand.

Tyrrax nods at Kayse.

Kayse nods once at Tyrrax.

Tyrrax says, "Greetings, to your proud people."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dendum gotta good point."

Missoni cheerfully says, "Fair eve."

Chandrellia says, "A gift to show we mean what we say."

Tayler says, "I cannot help to notice you said no weapons, yet wear the pylon on your wrist."

Chandrellia offers Tyrrax a crunchy red apple.

Tyrrax declines Chandrellia's offer.

Tyrrax glares at Chandrellia.

Chandrellia thoughtfully taps a finger against her lips.

Chandrellia shrugs.

Chandrellia takes a bite of her red apple.

Tyrrax asks, "Is your sheath empty?"

Tyrrax peers quizzically at Tayler.

Tayler adopts an agreeable expression.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Tayler says, "Mostly."

Tayler flashes a wide grin.

Sunwu asks, "How ya disarm a waggler?"

Speaking to Sunwu, Dergoatean says, "We're all wearing kroderine under our shirts, I assure you."

Sunwu exclaims, "Course!"

Archales says, "Hit em in the throat also works."

Tyrrax says, "You have resisted, and fought hard. I seek only one thing."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "Evening, I respect coming and meeting with us face to face, however I think you should of done this weeks ago and this would of been a... more welcoming environment."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia asks, "And that would be?"

Speaking melodically to Tyrrax, Maevie asks, "What is that?"

Tyrrax says, "The end of my people. I wish it destroyed."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "As do we, I aussure you."

Tyrrax says, "Lalk Morgil."

Tyrrax says, "Your assurances are hollow."

Tyrrax nods at Chandrellia.

Tyrrax says, "Words alone cannot hold the tide of my brothers at sea."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "Yes well, we can only do what we can with what we have."

Berost deeply says, "We do? Appreciate ya speaking fer *everyone* in town."

Pietra says, "You are right in that."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd says, "Perhaps you have information we do not that leads you to believe it resides here. If that is so, no one has yet claimed to have it."

Braugi squeakily says, "Ah here's the party."

Lylia says, "We cannot destroy what we do not have. And destroying a piece of parchment or a vial is no assurance of the destruction of knowledge itself."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "What you ask is not within our power to grant, nor is it within the power of your fleet to do even if you wipe this entire town off the map."

Astrilyn concernedly asks, "If not words, then what will be enough?"

Tyrrax asks, "The Xorus has locked his mind. What for?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "Well he is right here, ask him."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum says, ""Dendum prefers not to ask what is in that dusty mind."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dergoatean says, "We could just bring you a vial of nasty looking fluid and let you smash it, if it would make you feel better."

Dergoatean says, "I think we could come up with one in... seconds, really."

Tayler says, "If I had the capability to stop your mentalists rummaging around in my head like a dusty dresser drawer, believe you me, I would use it as well."

Missoni mutters, "Perhaps because such methods are a violation."

Tyrrax furrows his brow.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain says, "I do not speak for Xorus but, that is standard for many of us who do not wish to have our minds violated by others without permission."

Xorus says, "The one who now bears the Star of Khar'ta locked it. I know too much of the Everblood, the source of his immortality."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra says, "And some of us who have allowed you into our minds who have nothing to hide."

Tyrrax glances at Xorus.

Earthdiver says, "I think there are many who would rather not see such a formula come to light. Perhaps we can work together."

The half-elven scholar scribbles down some more notes, writing the best he can with the chains around his wrists and ankles. Beneath his dirty cloak, the tattered tabard of the Landing militia is barely visible.

Sunwu says, "Somethin' musta changed fer you to suddenly come an' ask."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "You are welcome to go meet him yourself, we could bring you to the forest he resides in."

Lankas softly asks, "Are you ok?"

Tyrrax says, "I wish to meet no one. I wish the key to the Lalk Morgil."

Speaking drunkenly to Pietra, Gutstorm whispers aloud, "Blurted da firsh thing dat pop in me head."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "You asked us for talks, and yet it seems you just want to give orders."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Pietra says, "I think that too sometimes."

Missoni says, "The key is not here."

Earthdiver says, "Surely, if we had such a formula, it is all over already."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "We can not give what we dont have, Lylia explained that."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd says, "You've yet to offer anything other than to stem the press of your company, which you seem not able to control, considering what was sent to the council."

Astrilyn asks, "In a crowd this size I'm sure we have lots of half-krolvin friends we want to protect... if we could. Right?"

Lylia says, "We do not have such a key. And that which is locked does not contain what you believe it to contain."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr asks, "Would a cure or way to innoculate your people potentially be of interest?"

Tayler asks, "I am confused, is it a discussion you want, or just to ask for what you've continued to ask for?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum says, "'If Krolvin is going to keep asking for same thing over and over can jump back in glowing ball and go hide behind ships again."

Xorus says, "Fortney invented the Lalk Morgil in only a matter of weeks, with knowledge of a witches curse collected by the human Hall of Mages."

Tyrrax pulls out a small smooth gemstone, etched with several small glyphs along its crystalline facets. As Tyrrax holds it up, moonlight seems to seep into its surface, making it glow. He places it back into his satchel.

Xorus says, "Whoever stole the formula has it, but destroying it does not solve the problem."

Tyrrax says, "Many of you speak, talking over another."

Earthdiver says, "What is that."

Tyrrax says, "Make little sense."

Speaking slowly to Tyrrax, Dendum repeats, "'Jump in glowing ball...float away...hide and cower."

Speaking melodically to Tyrrax, Maevie asks, "Mister, what was that gem?"

Tyrrax asks, "If you do not hold the Lalk Morgil, then where is it?"

Missoni says, "We do not know."

Tyrrax says, "The lens of the Alchemist."

Tyrrax nods at Maevie.

Lylia sincerely says, "I wish I knew."

Tayler asks, "Have you considred your sources who said we have it may not be accurate?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "Thats what we have been trying to tell you, we dont know, we want to help you locate it."

Tyrrax asks, "Why help?"

Tyrrax stares at Chandrellia.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "Because as someone here said, we do have friends that are half Krolvin, and we would like to see them stay very much alive."

Lylia says, "Not everyone has the same reasons."

Lylia says, "What could harm you and yours could be turned against others. That is also a concern."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "It is potentially a danger to much more than your people, I still believe finding a way to make people immune or cure it's affects would be the key to "destroying" it."

Speaking slowly to Tyrrax, Stormyrain asks, "What do we get in return?"

Speaking evenly to Tyrrax, Kayse says, "If we help, we want our people back." Kayse glances at the scholar. "Also the halfing mentalist."

Tracing Threads of a Spider's Web

Xorus asks, "Is that weapon, what we call a hand pylon, one of the treasures of Fortney?"

Tyrrax peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Tyrrax nods at Xorus.

Tyrrax asks, "Hand pylon, you call it?"

Kayse folds her wings across her back.

Tyrrax glances at Kayse.

Tyrrax says, "I only have one of your people."

Kayse inclines her head.

Tyrrax points at a brown-haired half-elven scholar.

The half-elven scholar scribbles some more information in his tome, looking up briefly, smiling crookedly, then contuining his work.

Xorus says, "Pylons were invented by the human Hall of Mages. They were later made much more powerful with this, what they know as plinite, made from powerful elementals."

Xorus taps an elementally churning core, which is in his left hand.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd says, "You should return him as a sign of good faith if you're to be taken at your word."

Speaking measuredly to Tyrrax, Kayse says, "Then this seems like a pretty good deal for you."

Tyrrax says, "I will return him when done."

Braugi squeakily says, "Might wanna ash that."

Sunwu asks, "Hmm?"

Tyrrax nods at Xorus.

Missoni curiously asks, "Done with what?"

Pietra asks, "And what of the halfling I met on the ship. Kharusa?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Kayse asks, "What do you need him for?"

Xorus says, "There is a giant man in this town known as Amos. Before a year ago, no one had ever seen a hand pylon, he is the only one who has access to selling them."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra asks, "Where is she?"

Tyrrax says, "Yes, the Xorus. Some of Fortney's treasures are ours."

Maevie melodically asks, "The mentalist?"

Tyrrax points at a brown-haired half-elven scholar.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Raelee asks, "... does this include your lens, your rings?"

Xorus says, "If the hand pylon is a creation of Fortney, then whoever supplies Amos, was in league with Fortney."

Speaking in Faendryl, Dergoatean says something you don't understand.

Tyrrax says, "To transcribe my journey. My challenge."

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Tyrrax asks, "Amos has this Lalk Morgil?"

Xorus says, "I do not know."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Kayse says, "I asked him, he said no."

Xorus says, "But he arrived to town about a month before Fortney claimed it would be sent here."

Tyrrax asks, "Why would Fortney make promise to the Xorus, and not deliver?"

Speaking in Faendryl to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Dergoatean says something you don't understand.

Tyrrax asks, "You trust words?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "Because he was a liar."

Xorus says, "Fortney was a profoundly deceptive human."

Tyrrax peers quizzically at Kayse.

Kayse whispers something to Pietra.

Speaking squeakily in Halfling to Maevie, Braugi says something you don't understand.

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Dergoatean says, "Sorry you're enslaved and all. If I get a chance to help out, I will."

Tyrrax asks, "Words of men?"

Tyrrax says, "Weakness."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Missoni asks, "You trust in the promise that it was sent here. How is that different?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd says, "Depends on the men."

Xorus says, "He would trick or manipulate people into killing other people."

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Lylia says, "Words may be weak, yet you are here offering some to us. They must have some value to you as well, then."

Speaking steadily to Tyrrax, Kayse responds, "I have to until I am given a reason not to trust."

The half-elven scholar says, "I have...I will be free. I have a...a unique opportunity here."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Tayler asks, "Did you not come here based on the word of someone who said we had this formula?"

Archious says, "Speaking of words and men, I wonder if news of the Mayor's words have reached so far out into the Bay."

Xorus says, "Fortney may have believed I would be the only one who was able and willing to help cure the Lalk Morgil."

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Dergoatean exclaims, "Well then good luck with the hustle, I guess!"

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Missoni says, "I... look forward to your writings."

Pietra tightens her grip on her fresh banana cake.

Pietra glances at a wedge of fresh banana cake in her hand.

Tyrrax says, "I had not just words of men, but Fortney's inked words to send us here."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Go eashy on dat cake."

Speaking to Lylia, Archious asks, "This one knows who actually cuts the deals here then?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd asks, "May we see?"

Archious glances at Tyrrax.

Tyrrax says, "Men write truths when no one is near."

Tyrrax says, "No."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "Could you tell us what they were? Perhaps there is something we can infer to those words that you would not know."

Perigourd smirks.

Perigourd says, "Of course not."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Pietra says, "Those ones need to stop aiming at my Pukk."

Tayler says, "Men also write deceptions to mislead and distract."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum says, ""Humans write lies as well as they speak them."

Tyrrax says, "The Manticore revealed much to me."

Archious whispers something to Lylia.

Tyrrax says, "It could have ushered in a new age."

Astrilyn repeats, "The manticore?"

Tyrrax says, "Before it was destroyed."

Vaemyr asks, "You were involved in its theft?"

Tyrrax says, "No."

Xorus says, "The human empire once tried to eradicate my people, calling us black hearted fiends, and one day they will try to do so again."

Raelee quietly says, "... it could have."

Tyrrax says, "But we know of it. We know what..."

Tyrrax says, "...what transpired."

Tyrrax says, "Is the word."

Lylia whispers to the group, "Inked words. He seems to regard not spoken, but written words as more binding. It may be one of the reasons he has a scholar taking notes."

Tyrrax says, "My brothers rely too much on the winds, and the waves, and the bite of metal."

Lankas softly asks, "If someone had the Lalk Morgil, wouldn't they be more likely to use it if you attack?"

Tyrrax says, "Fortney's trove brought more for us. But also Lalk Morgil."

Terabor whispers to the group, "I brought parchment if you need any, Mayor.. i mean Former Mayor."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dergoatean says, "And eyeballs. Lots of reliance on floating eyeballs."

Pietra says, "There are far worse things to rely on than the wind and the waves and metal."

Tyrrax says, "Lalk Morgil is not finished."

Dergoatean says, "Pretty gross, really. And that's coming from a sorcerer."

Lylia whispers to the group, "I trust the spoken word as much as the written one. But I thought it was an interesting thing that Tyrrax said."

Lankas softly says, "Ohh."

Xorus says, "In his ship Fortney had sketches of airships, with those plinite powered pylons on it, which would be able to fire from the skies."

Terabor whispers to the group, "Indeed."

Tyrrax says, "Want to destroy it. Destroy it before finished."

Dergoatean whispers to the group, "To be honest, I trust a little more when people put it in writing, myself."

Lankas softly asks, "We need more information to find it. Can we please see the inked words that lead you to the Landings?"

Tyrrax says, "Moonlight revealed his words."

Tyrrax says, "They were not easy for eyes to find."

Earthdiver asks, "Moon letters?"

Tyrrax takes out the small smooth glyph-etched gemstone again, tilting it for all to see, then he tucks it away.

The half-elven scholar scribbles some more notes in his tome.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra asks, "And if we did have this, what would you then do?"

Tyrrax says, "Take it."

Chandrellia says, "No, I'm thinking position, where moonlight hits, and its only visible with the moonlight, like thru a crack or crevvice."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra asks, "And after that?"

Tyrrax says, "Destroy it."

Raelee asks, "... an alchemist's lens, often used for refracting moon or sunlight... paired with ink that is reactive to such. Is that it?"

Tyrrax shrugs at Raelee.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd asks, "And what would stop another from following the research and making it again?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra asks, "Would you accept watching it's destruction without doing it yourself?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain asks, "Do you think it is possible the formula is written in the same manner as the --instructions on its whereabouts--was written?"

Tyrrax says, "His lens eats the moon. Reveals more."

Tyrrax nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain asks, "Hidden from the view of eyes without the lens and the moon?"

Tyrrax says, "Possible, yes."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain suggests, "Is that mayhaps a part of the issue of why we believe we do not have it and you believe we do? That we do not have the key that unlocks this puzzle?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Kiyna says, "Then... if you give us the lens, perhaps we can find it."

Braugi squeakily says, "Nice boots."

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Tyrrax says, "The Alchemist referenced the Shrike and Courier."

Tyrrax says, "Have not found them. Do not know them."

Lylia says, "Shrike. Like the bird that impales its prey."

Missoni muses, "The shrike."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Kayse asks, "Any more details about either of those?"

Earthdiver says, "Perhaps we could duplicate your lens."

Speaking to Earthdiver, Raelee says, "I do not think it would be difficult, now with the understanding of what it does. Though, we would need some writings to test it on to verify."

Lankas softly asks, "Could it be done?"

Speaking to Earthdiver, Astrilyn says, "I like the way you think."

Tayler asks, "Do we even have the letter that these words might be hidden on?"

Tyrrax says, "Found first trove in Idolone."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Archious says, "You are aware that they have no authority to offer you anything, yes? Their proposals are subject to the approval of one who is not here."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Lylia asks, "The lens was in Idolone?"

Vaemyr says, "That's quite far."

Tyrrax nods at Lylia.

Speaking to Archales, Dergoatean says, "People can make whatever promises they want tonight. They just can't promise on behalf of the whole Landing."

Speaking to Archious, Pietra says, "That's assuming this recipe can be found."

Lylia says, "The krolvin are...renowned for traveling far and making many ports of call along the coastlines."

Tyrrax says, "First trove in Idolone, taken much. Learned much."

Lylia whispers to the group, "If that is what you wish to call slave-taking from here to Brisker's Cove and beyond."

Speaking to Dergoatean, Archious says, "Just so. I'm sure no one here has any intention of decieving our new friend."

Tyrrax twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Tyrrax says, "I sought more, after the fall of the Manticore."

Speaking to Archious, Chandrellia says, "I wouldnt call him friend."

Lylia says, "Wise decision."

Tyrrax says, "Led to Fortney's first trove in Idolone. We struck fast."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain asks, "Do you think there may be a second lens there? That would reveal moon letters?"

Vaemyr says, "I guess you managed to escape the White Sparrows wrath while there."

Lylia whispers to the group, "It is 'wise,' I suppose, to plunder more important things than silver and slaves."

Earthdiver says, "Or perhaps there is a coating we can apply."

How to Proceed

Tayler asks, "Is it worth the lives of your men that still live, to try and continue to find something that we still do not have any solid evidence exists?"

Earthdiver asks, "To a current lens?"

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Tyrrax says, "I acquired much, including the lens, and papers. Fortney wrote of the Lalk Morgil, words within brass, and the courier and shrike at the edge of Darkstone Bay."

Tyrrax points down.

Tyrrax says, "Here."

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Kayse whispers something to Pietra.

Tayler asks, "You seek survival, yes? What of all of your dead?"

Tyrrax says, "We fight for the survival of the others."

Tyrrax nods at Tayler.

Kayse whispers something to Pietra.

Tyrrax says, "There is honor in sacrifice. In the fight."

Speaking to Tayler, Pietra says, "The sacrifices are made for the good of the entire race. To end an entire race is abhorrent."

Tyrrax glances at Xorus.

Speaking to Tayler, Pietra says, "We do this all the time, for the town. For the water."

Tyrrax asks, "The Xorus was lied to?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd says, "You seem fairly convinced that if we had it, it would be used against you."

Xorus says, "I have no memory of Fortney ever calling me the Shrike. I do not know who that is."

Earthdiver says, "Such weapons will one day come to pass. But there is no reason to hasten their arrival."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Xorus da Dread Lord."

Xorus says, "If Fortney did intend on giving me this formula, whoever took it is our mutual enemy."

Tyrrax nods at Perigourd.

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Dendum asks, ""What is word within brass?"

Lylia says, "I do not recall Praxopius' using that word. "Shrike."."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kiyna corrects, "'The' Xorus."

Xorus says, "I was a great admirer of the Czag Dubra. It is against my interests for the krolvin to be destroyed."

Tyrrax says, "Many would end our blood if possible."

Speaking drunkenly to Kiyna, Gutstorm slurs, "Oooh, right."

Tyrrax shrugs at Dendum.

Kayse whispers something to Pietra.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra says, "And that is wrong."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "So lets... for now assume your words are not like mans and ring true, if your lens is the only thing to find these words, how do you suspect we can end this peacefully."

Xorus says, "It would place my own people in the southern wastelands in grave danger from the human empire."

Xorus says, "To have no where to direct their aggression except south."

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Tyrrax says, "Find Lalk Morgil. Give to me."

Tyrrax nods at Vaemyr.

Vaemyr says, "It seems you hold the key, and we the vault, but we cannot find without the key."

Terabor whispers to the group, "I blame the new postal service. some courier in Ravelin probably shelved it under "RECIPIENT UNKNOWN"."

Tayler says, "I would end your raiding, your slavery, your crimes, but to release a weapon such as that has far reaching consequences beyond your race."

Kayse whispers something to Pietra.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum says, ""Can not find thing that can not be seen."

Gutstorm whispers to the group, "Me mailed Tyrrax some mail lash week, me bet he no get it."

Lylia whispers to the group, "Sometimes I wonder, yes. So many pieces of unassuming paper, and only with the right lens can they be read."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Kiyna says, "So let's have the lens, and we'll find what you're looking for."

Tyrrax says, "No."

Kiyna sighs.

Tyrrax says, "Lalk Morgil is words within brass."

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain says, "Then we are at an impasse. If we do not have the lens, and that is needed for finding the formula--and we do not know where we can get another, then we will make no progress."

Kayse whispers something to Pietra.

Lylia muses, "Words within brass..."

Chandrellia asks, "The words are in brass?"

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Dendum says, "Hrmm."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat dem shnowglobesh?"

Tyrrax twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum asks, ""Like the seeing glass?"

Earthdiver says, "That looks painful."

The half-elven scholar jots down some more notes.

Tyrrax peers quizzically at Dendum.

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Raelee asks, "... the brass tower? Too literal?"

Speaking to Raelee, Stormyrain says, "We were just all thinking the same thing."

Earthdiver says, "Perhaps you could elaborate on what it means to be within brass."

Pietra asks, "And if this is found, you will release the ones you hold captive, yes?"

Speaking quietly to Raelee, Lylia murmurs, "I was speculating about that as well."

Tyrrax asks, "Brass tower?"

Speaking to Raelee, Chandrellia says, "I'm thinking maybe a brass box with the letter in it."

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Dergoatean asks, "How do you figure we ought to resolve this?"

Tyrrax asks, "Who released?"

Tyrrax peers quizzically at Pietra.

Tayler says, "He only holds one, somewhat willing, captive."

Pietra points at a brown-haired half-elven scholar.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Kiyna asks, "By the way. Am I right in assuming you have no intention of making a deal with us? These are demands?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra says, "The halfling that was forced to enter my mind."

'Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra says, "Any others, the towns folk you may still have."

Tayler says, "That halfling is definitely dead, probably."

Speaking to Pietra, Kayse says, "I asked him for that already."

Speaking to Kayse, Pietra says, "As have I. But so many speak."

Lylia says, "Kharusa. I believe that is her name."

The half-elven scholar looks to Dergoatean, "I very much wish to return to my home, here, in Landing. My young wife is likely beside herself. I...I am told I will return, when my work is done. Perhaps, two forces are better than one."

Dendum says, ""There is enough paper in landing to cover entire bay...if thing is written on paper it will not be found without moon lens...perhaps could not be found with it. Humans love paper."

Tyrrax nods at Pietra.

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Lylia murmurs, "We shall carry a message to her, although I do not know if it would put her mind at ease. If you wish it."

Tyrrax says, "Both, yes."

Tyrrax nods at Pietra.

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Astrilyn says, "Maybe we can tell her you're safe if you give us her name."

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Chandrellia asks, "Who is your wife, perhaps we can send word to her that you are ok and in good health?"

The half-elven scholar nods to Lylia.

Xorus says, "When this Bay filled with blood, two years ago, and all the fish died. There was a great sickness here caused by a statue made by a witch."

Xorus says, "This statue was also stolen. One day they may not need the Lalk Morgil. Rotting the land out itself."

The half-elven scholar says, "Elizabeth Larson."

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Dergoatean says, "I'm sure she's worried sick."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra asks, "And in good faith, what is that look like to you?"

Lylia removes a silvery thin parchment from in her survival kit.

Lylia removes a slim ki-lin horn stylus bound in silver from in her wrap.

Tyrrax peers quizzically at Pietra.

(Lylia writes the name "Elizabeth Larson" on her paper in slanting copperplate script.)

Tyrrax asks, "You want Lalk Morgil destroyed?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra asks, "You are here to make this deal, right? We can find this thing and end it. You will let them free?"

Pietra nods in agreement at Tyrrax.

Tyrrax nods at Pietra.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra says, "I do. I am not the speaker of this town, but I don't like beating around the bush, so to speak."

Pietra chuckles.

Dergoatean says, "Just need to find a bronze needle in a haystack, now."

Tyrrax asks, "Who speaks for town?"

Lylia says, "The mayor."

Speaking to Dergoatean, Astrilyn says, "A brass needle."

Speaking to Dergoatean, Pietra says, "Stranger things have happened."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna says, "Not bloody likely..."

Tyrrax asks, "Who is your Mayor?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "Mayor Thadston Andrews."

Lylia says, "Who is not present. He remains in town to ensure its safety."

Chandrellia says, "I can bring word of what has been discussed to teh other Council memebrs, and the Mayor and let them discuss the outcome."

Lylia says, "Thadston Andrews."

Speaking to Astrilyn, Dergoatean exclaims, "I do get my copper alloys confused at times, thank you!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Shum crazy fella."

Tyrrax asks, "Who of you is Thadston Andrews?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd says, "He is not present."

Missoni says, "None of us."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain says, "He is not here, we will take any offers or agreements to him for authorization."

Tyrrax glares.

Tyrrax asks, "Your speaker does not come?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum says, ""The Thadston's golden bubble was not working so well so he stays in town."

Vaemyr says, "He is not here this evening, he refused to meet with you as you attacked his town."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dergoatean says, "He is upset."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "Our Mayor is not present, and might I suggest not really looking for him right now."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Perigourd says, "Members of the council who advise him are present."

Speaking squeakily to Maevie, Braugi asks, "Would this be a bad time to eat a tart?"

Mucarluk says, "He might be asleep."

Pietra says, "Our speaker is mercurial... by that I mean, he's easily frustrated."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Him broke him favrite chair lash night, him shulkin."

Speaking flatly to Tyrrax, Archious says, "I warned you of this."

Tyrrax asks, "Council? Who of them stand here?"

Tyrrax nods at Archious.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain offers, "The town is not like your krolvin, we are led by more than one. There are several leaders in the crowd this night."

Chandrellia giggles at Tyrrax.

Chandrellia walks toward Tyrrax.

Speaking quietly to Braugi, Terabor says, "There is no bad time to eat a tart."

Lylia offers, "Our speaker is elected. It is not the same person year to year. Elections are...not traditional for you, nor for my people, but they are here."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "I do."

Tyrrax peers quizzically at Chandrellia.

Speaking melodically to Braugi, Maevie says, "Neber."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "I am asking Pukk."

Tyrrax says, "You agree to aid then."

Tyrrax nods at Chandrellia.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Dendum reminds, ""The Krolvin have captains and captains of captains as well."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain offers, "She cannot make that agreement."

Tyrrax asks, "You want Lalk Morgil destroyed?"

Vaemyr says, "We can't agree to anything without consulting Thadston, these are our laws."

Tayler says, "Guidelines, really."

Tyrrax asks, "He is Mayor, or King?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "I can bring what we have discussed to our other council memebers, and the Mayor, this is a choice I cannot and will not make alone, to much depends on this, people's lives depend on what happens."

Lylia says, "Mayors are not kings. Or queens, alas."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra says, "It is what we call "bureaucracy" that meaning... many layers of order."

(OOC) Dergoatean's player whispers to the group, "We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the month..."

Tyrrax says, "This is your weakness."

Speaking sympathetically in Krolvin to Tyrrax, Kayse explains something you don't understand.

Tyrrax says, "My brothers do not call out upon the seas and wait. We act."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dergoatean says, "Yes, and also strength."

Town Councilor Pukk just arrived.

Town Councilor Pukk just went east.

Tyrrax glances at Kayse.

Pietra yells, "Pukk!"

Stormyrain offers, "As the one-eyed one acted?"

Kayse glances meaningfully at Tyrrax.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Pukk sho shilly."

Speaking in Krolvin, Tyrrax barks something you don't understand.

Town Councilor Pukk just arrived.

Tyrrax nods at Kayse.

Tyrrax glances at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum says, ""Hrmph if you get more to go on we can ask for lens."

Pukk asks, "I was called?"

Tyrrax says, "He acted against me. He perished. My ship is on order."

Earthdiver asks, "So you do need the lens...to read the words within brass?"

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "Pukk, this is Tyraxx."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain reminds, "As you yourself have experienced, when one acts outside the agreement of those who lead there are consequences."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "You have an opportunity to prevent much of your brother's blood from being split, if you agree to work with us."

Pukk glances at Tyrrax.

Pukk nods curtly at Tyrrax.

Tyrrax asks, "Work with you how?"

Tyrrax says, "You all speak so many words, but include so little meanings."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Stormyrain says, "And this is how our town is being put in order. The Mayor will have final say. None will make an agreement outside of his lead."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "It's the same with us, I cannot and will not act outside the agreement I was given when I was elected to my standing."

Lylia notes, "You have the key. You wish to find the lock. You are convinced the lock is here, somewhere."

Lankas softly says, "Oh my GODS yes."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum asks, ""Can you describe words in brass better?"

Lankas softly says, "All the time. Imagine living here and having to listen to it all. the. time."

Tyrrax looks over at Dendum and shakes his head.

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Tyrrax says, "Fortney's words in ink. Some made little sense."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum asks, "'In Krolgeh ?"

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "Another councillor to witness this is not a bad thing. I can go to town in your stead if you want me to."

Pukk whispers something to Pietra.

Lylia says, "That is what I recall of Fortney too."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Astrilyn says, "I think that's why he's asking. The words might make more sense to us if you share them."

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Speaking to Pietra, Pukk says, "It is covered so far."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "Give us time, now that you have told us to look for hidden words in brass we can search the town, we can meet again in a week."

Tyrrax nods at Vaemyr.

Tayler says, "I think many of us, not concerned with political fallout, can offer our aid. The town itself? Politics, and not largely relevant, many of the towns adventurers stand here."

Vaemyr says, "That will also give us time to meet with our mayor."

Tayler says, "Politicians do not find things."

Vaemyr says, "To discuss this."

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "It is good for you to be here in this moment, for the council."

Tyrrax says, "My brothers are restless. A week is long for them. But I will try."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Mucarluk says, "Unless you and your forces plan on paying the landing a surprise visit."

Lylia says, "Yet if we search, we do not know what we are seeking. Not without the key, or something that may identify these 'words in brass.'."

Tyrrax says, "Raise no weapon, and we will do the same."

Lankas softly exclaims, "If time is so important, let us read the letters!"

Tyrrax says, "They are not with me."

Tyrrax nods at Lankas.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pietra says, "This one is another town councillor. So that you can see that your parley has weight and witness."

Lankas softly says, "Send the scholar to fetch em."

The half-elven scholar jots down some more notes.

Speaking to Lankas, Astrilyn says, "I like that."

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Pukk asks, "Are you being treated well?"

Lankas softly says, "Or, bring someone to the letters. Someone who could share the information to the masses to aid in our search."

Vaemyr whispers to the group, "We have enough information to search, a week is all the time I figured we could buy anyways to either find something or prepare defenses."

Stormyrain asks, "The hour grows late, what is the outcome of this meeting for the Mayor? That you will give us time to find these words in brass? And you wish to have the formula given over to you for destruction, and in turn you will return the scholar's freedom and the halflings?"

Pietra whispers something to Kayse.

Lylia whispers to the group, "It was a thoughtful suggestion. Time is critical."

Tyrrax nods at Stormyrain.

Lankas softly says, "Give us a fighting chance, instead of leaving us blindfolded and one arm tied behind the back."

Tyrrax says, "You complete the words well."

Earthdiver says, "Yes...is the halfling ok."

Tyrrax nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Pukk, Chandrellia says, "The scholar is of Landing blood, from the militia, he has a wife that Lylia will send a message to stating that he is well and taken care of and hopes to return home soon."

Speaking in Gnomish to Lankas, Dendum asks something you don't understand.

Pukk says, "I see."

Speaking in Krolvin to Tyrrax, Kayse suggests something you don't understand.

Speaking in Halfling, Braugi squeakily says something you don't understand.

Speaking in Halfling, Braugi squeakily says something you don't understand.

Stormyrain asks, "Once the Mayor has agreed, or countered, he can send you his answer in writing--I understand that would be preferable to you as well?"

Dergoatean says, "And then we can safely assume there were no other copies."

Tyrrax asks, "You agree to the week of peace?"

Pukk says, "I can only take this to Thadston."

Pukk says, "He can decide. I can only advise."

The half-elven scholar watches some of the faces in the crowd, and sighs, then scribbles some more notes.

Speaking squeakily to Pukk, Braugi says, "They must return the halflings."

Speaking to Braugi, Pukk says, "That is what we would want too."

Tyrrax nods at Stormyrain.

Tyrrax says, "Send to your Mayor then."

Speaking to Tyrrax, Vaemyr says, "I can say that if your people don't raise your weapons against the town and storm its gates, there will be no reason for us to raise our weapons either."

Stormyrain nods in agreement at Tyrrax.

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Dergoatean asks, "Writing down everyone says? Or just drawing dirty pictures?"

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Lylia murmurs, "Have you seen a halfling, her hair in lank braids, eyes of celadon green?"

Tyrrax says, "There will be peace, as we await your Mayor-King's words."

Stormyrain says, "Understood. The message will make its way to the Mayor."

Tayler says, "If any of your brothers get bored I'll gladly test their mettle on the high seas, look for the black flag."

Sunwu asks, "He cuts right to th' heart of th' matter, eh?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Pukk asks, "As a show of good faith, maybe you can release the scholar?"

The half-elven scholar nods to Lylia.

Speaking to herself, Astrilyn says, "Thadston's moving up very quickly, I guess."

Tyrrax looks over at Pukk and shakes his head.

Speaking to Pukk, Kiyna says, "Already tried that."

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "That is not the deal we discussed so far."

Tyrrax says, "No."

Lylia quietly asks, "In the past few days?"

Pukk says, "I needed to try."

Tyrrax says, "He records my journey, here, and upon my return."

Tyrrax says, "Then freedom."

The half-elven scholar nods to Lylia.

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Pukk says, "We will work on getting you home."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Dendum says, ""Maybe it is brass mug."

Lankas softly says, "Elizabeth Larson."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Dendum says, ""Probably should empty all of them to be sure."

Lylia murmurs, "Thank you. I shall tell Elizabeth we spoke."

Lankas softly says, "Got to remember that."

The half-elven scholar nods to Lylia and almost whispers, "Thank you."

Lylia smiles quietly to herself.

Lylia places a hand over her heart.

Tyrrax says, "We both seek Lalk Morgil destroyed. That is all."

Lylia quietly says, "I would want someone to do the same for me."

Tayler says, "This could have been a much more pleasant conversation a few weeks ago."

Speaking drunkenly to Xorus, Gutstorm slurs, "Shmart."

Tayler nods at Tyrrax.

Tyrrax says, "Words are not my brother's way."

Pietra says, "You are doing what you can to save your people. This we all understand."

Pietra nods at Tyrrax.

Tyrrax nods at Pietra.

Tyrrax says, "Tomorrow is another day for war. Today, we seek merely survival."

Speaking in Halfling, Braugi squeakily says something you don't understand.

Lylia says, "We all seek this. It is common ground we share."

Speaking in Halfling, Braugi squeakily exclaims something you don't understand.

Tyrrax glances at Xorus.

Pietra whispers something to Tyrrax.

Tyrrax nods at Pietra.

Tyrrax asks, "Our words are done?"

Vaemyr asks, "Then are we agreed?"

Pukk whispers something to Roblar.

Vaemyr says, "I believe so."

The half-elven scholar looks up, pausing his writing.

Speaking to Tyrrax, Dendum says, ""Many thanks for sharing understanding of Lalk Morgil...now we can stop searching papers and start tearing apart metal things."

Speaking to a brown-haired half-elven scholar, Lylia whispers aloud, "What is your name?"

Tyrrax nods at Dendum.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Larshon."

The half-elven scholar says, "Rian."

Lylia nods once.

Speaking to Lylia, Pietra says, "Thank you."

Tyrrax twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Tyrrax says, "You are ever interesting."

Speaking to Pukk, Dendum asks, ""Hrmm surely can not be that many brass things in human port city yes?"

Speaking to Roblar, Pukk says, "I know how you like adventures."

Tyrrax twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Tyrrax says, "Week's time. Send word when your Mayor-King speaks. We will hold peace until that time."

Lylia whispers to the group, "I hope Thadston is not sleeping, despite the late hour."

Speaking deeply to Pukk, Roblar says, "Am no hostage bait."

Tyrrax moves back towards the portal, and the half-elven scholar turns to follow.

Vaemyr whispers to the group, "Might be tomorrow before we can meet with him."

Speaking to Roblar, Pukk asks, "Maybe think of it as a chance to get more items to sell?"

Speaking to Tyrrax, Chandrellia says, "May the seas be calm adn the winds plentiful."

Lylia whispers to the group, "Yes."

Roblar deeply says, "They have nothing I need."

(OOC) Lylia's player whispers to the group, "I thought of that after I said it!"

Roblar deeply says, "If want something, I board their ships, kill them and raze it."

Gutstorm sadly slurs, "Ye know, me wash kinna hopin we'd git loot tnite."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Lylia says, "There are many greater kappas."

Speaking wryly to Sunwu, Archious says, "It seems now we wait for the Mayor-King to grace us with his presence."

(OOC) Vaemyr's player whispers to the group, "Haha since he did say KST tonight tomorrow and sunday, and we "might" of managed to prevent an invasion tomorrow hah I'm sure thadston will ruin everything."

(OOC) Stormyrain's player whispers to the group, "Zzzzz."

(OOC) Dendum's player whispers to the group, "Sure someone will accidently set a pylon off."

(OOC) Lylia's player whispers to the group, "Hey now, we only prevented an invasion of *krolvin.* Who's to say what else might want to kick up some dust?"

Speaking seriously to Archious, Sunwu says, "Aye, lord. We mus' beg an audience."

(OOC) Chandrellia's player whispers to the group, "Like an invasion of kobolds or something."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Dendum whispers aloud, ""Hrmm think boat may be faster than glowing ball."

(OOC) Kiyna's player whispers to the group, "Bloodguards. Stone heard someone say his name."

Tayler asks, "Trying to become hostage number three?"

Tyrrax walks towards the portal and it begins to shrink, slowly churning and diminishing in size. As Tyrrax and the half-elven scholar walk through, you watch as the portal dwindles down and transforms into a rune-etched golden ring that appears on the krolvin's finger just before it closes and they vanish entirely.

Discussion Afterward

Pietra says, "Mmmm."

Vaemyr says, "Hmm."

Stormyrain whispers to the group, "That's a lovely ring, indeed."

Vaemyr says, "So the portals themselves are the rings."

Lylia whispers to the group, "You saw it too, then."

Pietra asks, "Chronomage, hrm?"

Pukk says, "Frustrating krol."

Vaemyr says, "They are one of Prax's treasures."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We gonna check out dat brash tower?"

Astrilyn says, "I thought that went better than it could have."

Lankas softly says, "We should snitch to the chronomages. They might not be aware."

Tayler says, "Wonder if they've navved an entire Krol ship."

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "He does not want the end of his entire race."

Stormyrain asks, "Will the Councillors take word to the Mayor?"

Chandrellia says, "I have thinking to do, I wish you all well."

Pukk says, "Let's head back to town so I will know it is safe."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Dendum asks, ""Hrmm would be hard to ship entire tower yes?"

Dergoatean exclaims, "Good night!"

Pukk says, "I understand that. I was hoping to get the scholar back."

Lylia says, "Back to town it is. Join me if you wish to travel quickly."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Lylia, take me away!"

Astrilyn says, "He said he would be let go after we deliver the..."

Astrilyn says, "Oh, there goes Pukk."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Dendum says, ""Could be small like ocean spying glass....or even simple like bowl."

Lylia says, "I shall want to see about these 'words in brass.' Although I do not know what I am looking for."

Earthdiver says, "The doorway will take anyone to town, if they'd like."

Lylia says, "Or something found in the Brass Tower."

[travel]

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "I actually tried to visit there the other day to check only out, but it is still closed it seems."

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a fat calico cat, the coffin-shaped Inck disk, the Asben disk, the Stormyrain disk, the Dendum disk, the Kiyna disk, the Vaemyr disk, the bloodstained Xorus disk with scuffed and dented sides, a resplendent obsidian black raven that is flying around, a fluffy white cat, a dusky bush rat, the faenor Chandrellia disk inlaid with intersecting bands of jet, the gold-dusted Mucarluk disk crowned with sylvarraend rubies, the Tynks disk, a white flask, a slender blue wand, a heavy quartz orb, a carousing gingerbread man cookie, a roasted ratweed tea, an ivy-covered white monir tower, a white flask, an unwrapped real gem-shaped gift, a sorrel chemise, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, an unwrapped real gem-shaped gift, a silver-traced carved mahogany cart with some stuff on it, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin and some wide stone benches with some stuff on it.

Earthdiver says, "Words in brass..perhaps the formula is between two sheets of brass, soldered together."

Chandrellia says, "I suppose I'll be in my office writing up a letter of tonights events."

Speaking to Carakkatus, Remizycas says, "Oh u just missed it."

Speaking to Lylia, Pukk says, "Took you long enough."

Speaking to Pukk, Stormyrain asks, "Will you take Tyrrax's word to Thadston then?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Chandrellia says, "If you have anything to add or think of, I'll be in my office."

Lylia says, "I have a letter to write as well."

Pietra says, "I'm not writing a single thing."

Pukk says, "I can't write so it will have to be a verbal communication."

Raelee slowly says, "... I find it difficult to believe his lens is absolutely unique."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Dendum asks, ""Hrmm know of any brass kegs that should be searched?"

Pukk says, "You will have to help since I was only there for part of it."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Do you think we could work on a potential divice similar to that lens? If it's used to channel Lumnis's energies, we should be able to replicate something similar."

Lylia says, "A moment."

Speaking to Raelee, Pietra says, "I wish I knew what all the implications of all this were. But I do not."

Earthdiver says, "He definitely implied the lens was key. So I am to assume there are moon letters written into a brass object."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "Sunlight and moonlight are common in alchemy. We have... an entire laboratory in the Outpost with all manner of lenses in it."

Raelee says, "It seems quite likely that something can be modified."

An ethereal harmony heralds a swirl of silvery motes, converging into a bright and glittering radiance. The light fades away, revealing Leafiara in its place.

Leafiara cautiously asks, "Well then... what was all that about a lens and brass?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Fancy of you to show up..."

Earthdiver says, "There are words in brass."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I know when to stay out of it."

Carakkatus says, "So anything interesting happen while i was gone?? ha ha."

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "Of course, love."

Braugi squeakily says, "I'll try to find the words."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "So three things, we have a tentative ceasefire for a week, he has a lens that reflects the energy of the moon to review Prax's treasures and writing, and apparently it is written on brass."

Leafiara asks, "So... a brass box?"

Braugi squeakily says, "And he has a bunch of halfings."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "One might say this is splitting hairs, but he did not say it was written in brass."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Sorry on brass."

Leafiara says, "Hmm..."

Earthdiver says, "Words in brass."

Tayler says, "Words in brass."

Raelee says, "Yes. Words in brass."

Leafiara says, "That just makes me think of a brass chest."

Carakkatus says, "A brass plaque on something."

Leafiara says, "Though others are telling me maybe the brass tower. I could see that."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr asks, "Do you know where Fortney stayed while he was here? any potential places we could start with?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "The outpost."

Leafiara says, "He was invited by Breshon, Larsya's older brother."

Carakkatus says, "Ok im lost already heh."

Vaemyr says, "I would start there then."

Leafiara says, "Alternatively, Praxopius worked out of Estoria and Idolone, if I recall."

Leafiara says, "But that's a bit far."

Braugi squeakily exclaims, "None of you seem to be very worried, while my brothers and sisters are being turned into slaves!"

Lankas softly says, "Tyrrax said he raided a place in Idolone."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Aye thats where Tyrrax got the information from that lead him here."

Carakkatus asks, "Anyone seen Remiycas?"

Leafiara says, "Ahh. That makes sense."

Vaemyr says, "Back in a moment."

Leafiara amusedly says, "Ah, the dash to the invoker."

Lankas softly says, "The first zombie I killed had a brass chest."

Xorus says, "Whoever this Shrike is... well, they may be making a dangerous enemy of me."

Lylia says, "The Shrike is another piece of the puzzle."

Lylia says, "I do not recall Praxopius using that name at all. However, he was fond of nicknames. Such as his own, the 'Alchemist.'."

Carakkatus says, "So theres someone going by the name Shrike."

Speaking to Lylia, Terabor asks, "What was the other word mentioned with Shrike... C...?"

Speaking to Terabor, Lylia says, "Courier."

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

Speaking to Lylia, Terabor says, "Thank you."

Terabor says, "Shrike and Courier."

Leafiara says, "I suppose Praxopius' assistant Snout could be the Courier, but that's a shot in the dark. I'd bet against it if anything."

Markx asks, "What is goin on?"

Xorus says, "While the warlord came off as somewhat limited, I would caution that he was likely playing at being slow witted, as well as being overwhelmed with the speed and amount of foreign language."

Speaking to Markx, Leafiara says, "Oh, the others just parlayed with Tyrrax and are relaying information from the meeting."

Speaking to Leafiara, Markx asks, "Ok?"

Leafiara says, "Pardon a moment, the other councilors are summoning me."

Lylia says, "The Shrike. The Courier. 'Bound in Brass.'."

[Moot Hall, Council Chamber]

A rich merlot carpet stretches from end to end of this large, spacious chamber, which is aglow from the moonlight shining in through several arched windows along an entire wall. Large, verdant green plants rest in terra cotta vases in each corner of the room, and the walls are decorated with detailed paintings of nearby historical landmarks. A circular table sits in the center of the room, surrounded by several wooden chairs. You also see the Pukk disk, the Kiyna disk, a dusky bush rat, the faenor Chandrellia disk inlaid with intersecting bands of jet, a heavy oak door, a tall white ash door, a tall cherry red door, a tall modwir door and a wide burnished oak archway.

Also here: Town Councilor Leafiara, Town Councilor Pukk who is sitting, Kiyna who is sitting, Town Councilor Chandrellia, Pietra who is sitting

Kiyna asks, "Isn't that what I've been saying about him the whole time?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Chandrellia says, "I thought he said that she is most likely dead, that tells me he doesnt have her, so I am thinking she did indeed escape with the otehr prisoners."

Leafiara says, "I think the town square has largely caught me up on the situation." [OOC: many whispers deleted from the log, primarily from Terabor as Leafi mentions later]

Leafiara says, "Words in brass, lens needed to read Praxopius' letters."

Leafiara says, "Shrike, Courier."

Leafiara says, "And Praxopius invented the hand pylons, because of course."

Speaking to Kiyna, Pietra says, "I haven't been around much to hear what you've been saying, but I do agree with you."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Yup yer caught up."

Leafiara says, "Good to know that both of the most detestable men I've ever met have some connection to each other."

Leafiara clarifies, "Praxopius and Amos."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Well."

Chandrellia says, "There is one other thing you may enjoy hearing."

Leafiara says, "And I hear we've tentatively agreed to a week of peace."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "He has pylons."

Leafiara asks, "Who?"

Chandrellia says, "Tyrrax."

Leafiara suddenly says, "Oh."

Leafiara says, "Okay, they didn't explain he *had* one, just that he knew Praxopius invented them."

Leafiara says, "Hm."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Said he got thenm from the same fella he got teh rings from."

Leafiara says, "Grand..."

Chandrellia says, "This Fort fella."

Kiyna says, "He said he raided Fortney's trove in Idolone, specifically."

Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are being watched.

The feeling fades as quickly as it came.

Pietra's fingers begin to twitch, the movement of her lips barely perceptible as she prepares a spell.

Pietra gestures into the air.

Pietra momentarily gets a faroff look in her eyes, and then returns to normal.

Pukk asks, "Who is looking?"

Leafiara says, "Okay, now that's amusing that Pie can locate back when I can't."

Pietra says, "No idea. But I located Gutstorm in TSC."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "I can't locate back. It was a hunch."

Pietra says, "And I doubt it was him."

Leafiara calmly inquires, "So, what are we discussing?"

Pukk says, "I wanted to get the gist of what was said."

Pukk says, "Chandrellia is going to write a report for Thaddy."

Kiyna asks, "Is one of you doing that?"

Pietra says, "I have given Pukk my thoughts, quickly."

Leafiara says, "Must have been a slow conversation if people could relay an hour of discussion to me in about three minutes."

Pietra says, "Er, at length, but fastly."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "So I am going to write the Mayor a letter about tonight events, a lot of it was a blurr and loud, so Kiyna if she would be willing will help me get things in order, so maybe I can at least accomplish that."

Kiyna says, "Can do."

Leafiara says, "I have every confidence in you."

Leafiara says, "Both of you. All of you."

Leafiara says, "If I didn't, I would have been there."

Pukk says, "Mainly her. I was just backup."

Pukk says, "I went way later."

Leafiara says, "It always makes me shake my head inside when people imply I'm secretly pulling the strings of the entire council, or whatever other nonsense Alosaka spews."

Leafiara says, "The Landing will always pull together."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Everybody knows that you are really the younger version of Raznel."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "At least one of us does, casue I felt like a faliure out there tonight, I couldn't hold order, and was cut off when I explained that I couldnt make choices for the town without discussing it with the Council and the Mayor."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara asks, "Were you all not out there for over an hour without it coming to bloodshed?"

Pukk says, "Sounds like a win to me."

Leafiara says, "This is the Landing, sometimes we can't make it two minutes without it coming to bloodshed."

Leafiara says, "I think you must have done great."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Thats Stormy and Lylia doing, they stepped up to the plate."

Chandrellia says, "Oh."

Leafiara says, "I highly doubt it was all them."

Leafiara says, "But of course the marshal was heavily involved, that's not a surprise."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "We did manage to talk to Tyrrax's Scholar, a young landing militia man, Tyrrax claims he will let him go when this is over."

Leafiara says, "She's the leader of our largest military force."

Leafiara says, "She's exactly the sort who would command Tyrrax's respect and attention, if anyone would."

Leafiara says, "Oh... okay, that one's new to me."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Lylia was able to get the lads name, Rian Larson."

Leafiara asks, "So that's our one missing captive?"

Imperatrix Lylia's group just came through a wide burnished oak archway.

Chandrellia says, "His wifes name is Elizabeth."

Leafiara asks, "We rescued 24 and the insubordinate krolvin killed a 25th, so the scholar is the 26th?"

Lylia says, "Yes, Rian's wife. I shall see to that letter."

Pietra says, "Rian."

Pukk says, "Chandrellia is filling us in on what was said. Glad you are here."

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "Was just telling Leafi of your accomplishments with the scholar."

Lylia demurs, "I would not call them accomplishments. It was the easier task; talking to Tyrrax was the greater challenge."

Speaking to Kayse, Pietra says, "I'm quite louder than I expected to be."

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "A win is a win."

Lylia says, "After all, the scholar Rian and I were seeking the same goal. I am not certain that is true of Tyrrax."

Pietra says, "I felt this before."

Vaemyr says, "I'm still not sold that all he seeks is the blue suffer, I think it's possible there could be another cache of Fortney's treasures here."

Speaking to Lylia, Pukk asks, "Your thoughts on Tyrrax?"

Lylia says, "He does seem fond of his trinkets. Pillaging rather than creating. It is the nature of krolvin to find rather than build."

Leafiara considers, "Either way... if we find the this brass chest or brass tower cache or whatever it is, then we'd be getting those treasures."

Speaking to Leafiara, Lylia says, "Just so."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Well, unless he has something else besides the lens, that's needed to open it or such."

Lylia says, "Tyrrax is a more considered krolvin than many warlords. He has shown himself to be as good as his word, although he professes to hold little stock in words."

Pukk says, "I saw many on him. gnome skull amulet, razern necklace and a bracer I figured to hold magic too."

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia says, "I think he is sincere about wanting the 'blue suffering' formula found and destroyed, but he cannot be so simple as to think that ends it."

Xorus says, "Tyrrax was somewhat overwhelmed with the speed of the foreign language."

Xorus says, "I believe him to be more clever than the way he was speaking."

Xorus says, "In that moment."

Lylia says, "And therein lies my concern. What does he do with those who may have knowledge of the formula once it is revealed? He must destroy them too. Or their memories and minds."

Speaking to Xorus, Pietra asks, "Do you ever not mistrust someone?"

Leafiara says, "Ah, that would explain why the parlay was long and yet Terabor could explain the entire conversation in about two minutes."

Pukk says, "He fears it. So I don't doubt his sincerity wanting it destroyed."

Xorus says, "I trust Lylia."

Vaemyr says, "I didn't get the sense he was lying, if he was the he fooled me... but I'll forever be cautious."

Speaking to Xorus, Pietra says, "Well that's one, I guess."

Speaking to Xorus, Pukk says, "You better because if you don't trust her, she will torture you until you do."

Lylia simply says, "Truth."

Xorus says, "You should have seen what she did to Vlashandra."

Leafiara asks, "I assume he still wants us to hand over the formula?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "So he never mentioned a formula."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "No, he has agreed to watch it's destruction and then give over the enslaved ones."

Vaemyr says, "That was something that was interesting to me."

Lylia says, "He wants us to destroy it."

Speaking surprisedly to Pietra, Leafiara says, "Oh."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Yes, but I have to write Thadston and let him know what was discussed, no need to piss him off two times in as many nights."

Speaking to Pietra, Leafiara says, "Well, that's progress."

Speaking to Lylia, Pietra says, "I suggested this to him."

Speaking to Lylia, Pietra says, "Sorry, you got in the way of Leafi."

Pietra says, "I am very tired."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk says, "Be specific in details. The scholar, Tyrrax's demeanor."

Vaemyr says, "He always talked about the blue suffer itself, not the formula, since he got his words directly from Fortney's hidden notes, I wonder if there's meaning to that."

Vaemyr says, "But again, speculation completely."

Leafiara says, "But 'words in brass' are what we're looking for? So somthing recorded."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "He has anger, as we've seen. But he also does not want his entire race obliterated. On this, we all agree."

Lylia says, "I should note that he is not stupid, and he surely knows that in revealing the formula to destroy it, it becomes known."

Xorus says, "It is difficult for me to think he truly believes that burning a paper in a brass tube, or whatever it is, would prove the destruction of Lalk Morgil forever."

Vaemyr says, "Raelee thinks we can probably imitate his lens, maybe not enough to read the message, but enough to detect it."

Speaking to Lylia, Pietra says, "That is a problem for you magical folks to ponder."

Speaking to Lylia, Pukk says, "So, who ever finds it will likely die."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Tell me more about the lens?"

The voice of Raelee says, "... I never said it would not be enough to read it."

Leafiara says, "The cursory explanation I heard was that the lens is needed to read the writing."

Vaemyr says, "You said that we'd need to experiment with actual writing first."

Pukk says, "Good thing I can't read then."

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia says, "Or have their memories destroyed, which is a kind of death. Mark my words, the halfling is also a weapon. Not just a tool."

Vaemyr says, "Thus I think in steps, a way to detect, obtain the object, then refine our own lens to read it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Raelee would be better probably to explain."

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "I adore you, even if you can't read any love letters I might never actually write to you, because you can't read."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "And... one week to do it?"

Speaking to Pietra, Pukk says, "It may save me this time so yeah."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "It's the amount of time I thought we could get, not nessecarily the amount of time we needed."

Lylia says, "I have a sample of Praxopius Fortney's writing. However, it is not 'bound in brass,' and it was recovered before we even knew of the man's name. Still, it may prove useful."

Lylia removes a flower-inset lilac suede binder from in her wrap.

Lylia shows you a flower-inset lilac suede binder, which she is holding in her right hand. The binder has 3 pages in it and you are turned to page 1, which is a crisp white scroll. Looking more closely at it, you see...

The scroll appears to be in pristine shape and holds the crude sketch of a large imperial ship that depicts dozens of mana pylons positioned upon it. Drawn on the scroll, within the bottom of the ship, is a large square with a scribbled mark that reads "plinite charge." Beneath the sketch of the ship is the letter "A" scribbled in the same handwriting.

Raelee says, "The lens, by my observation, stores moonlight. I do not think it is strictly a refractive or reflective tool."

Pukk asks, "I remember in the catacombs under the town there is a magic workshop there that has a brass knocker right?"

Raelee says, "However, I would assume refraction is a part of the process in revealing the writing."

Leafiara suddenly says, "Praxopius did grow up in the Landing. He might have knowledge of things like that."

Lylia asks, "If it stores moonlight, is it something that needs to be exposed to moonlight many nights running? And would the Reach be of use in that regard?"

Leafiara glances at a wide burnished oak archway.

Chandrellia says, "That gem he pulled out, seemed to absorb the moonlight but I dont know what gem it was, if it did infact do that, and it was polished to a shine..."

Leafiara says, "...we'll see if Pukk finds anything, I suppose."

Speaking to Lylia, Raelee asks, "Or does it merely store it so one can read what one needs to without waiting for a clear night?"

Leafiara notes, "A lot of very good thoughts tonight in unraveling this mystery."

Lylia says, "The language barrier made it difficult to know, especially as he was going by Praxopius' writings that he may not have fully understood."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Also I noticed the brass towers still been closed up, so if we did want to search there... we'd probably need Thadston's help..."

Leafiara says, "As I was going to say to Pukk, Praxopius did originally live in the Landing, so he might know intricacies of the place."

Lylia adds, "Which is no slight to him; Praxopius wrote a great deal that was abstruse."

Raelee says, "Regardless, alchemical lenses designed to manipulate sun and moonlgiht are... typical tools in a laboratory. We have all manner of them available to us."

Town Councilor Pukk just came through a wide burnished oak archway.

Leafiara says, "We also can't forget that Praxopius was somehow knowledgeable enough about the Landing that he was able to intercept a letter from Rysus."

Leafiara says, "There might not be any corner of this area he was unfamiliar with."

Lylia says, "The Courier. The Shrike. Those are other unknowns. They could be local people. Such allegorical nicknames could cover any number of possibilities."

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara says, "So I like your thought about checking obscure places."

Pukk says, "I checked in that workshop. The workshop on the mountain is another place I would check."

Chandrellia says, "If anyone needs me, I'll be in my office writing."

Chandrellia mutters, "And drinking."

Speaking to Raelee, Pietra says, "I feel good knowing that the magic parts of this puzzle can hopefully be found."

Pukk nods at Chandrellia.

Pukk says, "Thanks."

Vaemyr whispers something to Leafiara.

Xorus says, "I expect it will be the Grand Magister and one of her messengers. But, we shall see."

Leafiara says, "My mind leapt to her too, but shrikes and falcons aren't especially similar."

Lylia says, "I could see where Praxopius might have given her the moniker."

Lylia dryly remarks, "I say this with respect -- I could easily see her as someone who impales her prey on thorns for later consumption."

Terabor says, "Excuse me."

Lylia says, "I should see to some writing as well."

Lylia says, "Be well, all."

Speaking in Faendryl to Xorus, Lylia asks something you don't understand.

Xorus gives Lylia a lingering kiss.

Xorus says, "Soon."

Lylia gives Xorus a lingering kiss.

Pukk says, "Well, Chandrellia is writing her report and the more magical experts are discussing this. So, I'm going to bed."

Tayler says, "That's a good idea, I'm falling asleep on my feet over here."

Speaking to Pukk, Pietra says, "Sweet dreams, I will join you."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "And it is a total coincidence that I'm leaving at the same time as Lylia. Tell Gutstorm to not be jealous."

Leafiara says, "I had taken a nap earlier, expecting I'd be down for two hours, but instead was down for three. I have quite a bit of energy left still."

Pietra says, "Goodnight. too."

Pietra says, "Right."

Leafiara asks, "Is there anything else we need to review?"

Vaemyr says, "Aye I should get some sleep as well."

Vaemyr says, "Uhh how do we convince Thadston."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Of what?"

Tayler says, "Buy him a new chair."

Leafiara asks, "A week of peace?"

Vaemyr nods at Leafiara.

Vaemyr says, "And to let us look for the stuff."

Vaemyr says, "Like we'll need him to let us in the brass tower potentially, and other parts of the landing also."

Leafiara says, "That was one reason I didn't come tonight."

Leafiara says, "I figured it might mean more if whatever plan we ended up with tonight came primarily from others."

Vaemyr says, "Well... if anyone's to blame for the week of peace, I suggested that one."

Leafiara approvingly says, "Excellent."

Vaemyr says, "Anyways."

Vaemyr says, "Sleep calls me."

Vaemyr says, "Have a good night."

Earthdiver exclaims, "You, too!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "We'll speak tomorrow, unless well things."
