Summary

 • A red-beaked Rook leads a group of adventurers to the back yard of Dragonsclaw Arms, where Mother meets with them. She asks about the Marshal not being present and Captain Stormyrain says they might have had last minute issues, but she and Captain Shinann will share her message with them. Ysharra says maybe they have other priorities, to which Mother says priorities have been a problem in the Landing for years.
 • Mother thanks everyone for coming and says too many here have had unnecessary conflicts with the Rooks and their goals were more often than not aligned--with acknowledgment they could spend days debating methods and tactics. She gives assurances that she demands fierce loyalty of the Brotherhood, will advance the Landing's independence, and that the age of Drangell and Rysus is over; the Rooks won't "unnecessarily bleed our own to protect our own."
 • Captain Shinann challenges her being critical while making promises from behind a mask; Mother says some masks are youthful and ivory with tilted eyes of green.
 • Mayor Lylia says Mother comes masked but demanding loyalty and asks why the need for secrecy or Rooks at all. Mother says the Rooks protect the Landing's freedoms and still exist to do what others cannot bring themselves to do. Lylia says she's not far off from Rysus' promises; Mother says he did more to work against his promise than toward it and the Rooks will still operate in the shadows, but it doesn't require them to be in conflict with the mayor or militia and they have larger enemies to be concerned with.
 • Militia member Nazarr asks what freedoms Mother fights for and which larger enemies she fights against; Mother names Raznel, Grishom Stone, and Imperial encroachment. She also says she's instructed the Brotherhood to stand down in conflicts with the militia.
 • Mother says that the town council will announce the new mayoral campaign season within a week--and that shortly afterward one of the council will resign. Many ask how or why she knows this, including Darcena, Ushakaron, and Ysharra raising the possibility that she is the council member--implying Alendrial DeArchon. However, Mother says she's been rooting out the remnants of Drangell and Rysus and that one council member was loyal to the old ways; Beldrin will resign, and the mayor after the election will be tasked with selecting a new member.
 • Mother says it's important to embrace within the council and mayoral office someone who will support and protect the Landing's independence and that Imperial eyes are turning toward it. Many say that's nothing new, but Mother says she's awaiting confirmation of a response unlike any yet--stemming from years of what the Imperials consider chaos, but also Grishom Stone's presence. Elphieya asks for more details since they can't prepare on partial information; Mother says the Rooks themselves are not certain yet and they'll share more when they confirm.
 • Mother hopes the Rooks and militia can meet again and discuss peace between the two in a week, this time with Marshal Thadston included; Stormy says Thrayzar is still the Marshal proper, but Thadston is the interim one.
 • Darcena asks if Mother will reveal herself to the militia and she says no.
 • Soneiken asks why she had the dockworkers killed and Mother says they were more than dockworkers. He says she sidestepped the laws and asks how they can trust her when she dismisses Landing leaders; she says it's her responsibility alone to reshape the Rooks.
 • Sir Cryheart asks where Mother comes from and she says nowhere and that she's not revealing such information without months of proper leadup. He says we need tot get to know her if we're to trust her and she says she hopes he's better than suddenly trusting her if she just gave him a name, region, and time. He says it would be a beginning; she says "trust will fall into place in other ways."
 • Mother reiterates that Beldrin will soon resign, this time saying she orchestrated it, as well as that there's no conflict between the militia and Brotherhood and that she doesn't seek loyalty from those who aren't in the Brotherhood, but cooperation at best.
 • Darcena raises a question of what Mother brings to the alliance; Mother says information and that there are things the militia can't accomplish.
 • Lylia raises the question of why power should be ceded to Mother to lead a fiercely loyal faction swearing fealty to her; she says there will always be those living in the shadows and it's better someone lead them than no one, and they're loyal to the Landing above all else.
 • Ysharra asks her birthday, saying it's an easy question if she won't give out her name; Mother says "the date I was born."
 • Wolfloner says the Empire has its own organization like the Silver Kings and Bayrunners that they allow to exist, while the Landing has the Rooks; Mother says they're not allowed to exist any more than the Brotherhood is. Wolfloner says it's not reasonable to expect an immediate reconciliation, but Mother's attempt at cooperation is a reasonable path to explore.

Highlights

Mother softly says, "Priorities have been quite the problem in this town for years."
Ysharra says, "Perhaps. Preserving the choice that some people are able to exercise here can be costly in other ways."

Hapenlok asks, "You know, our most ancient and most evil foes we've had to face presented themselves as benevolent sorts. Call me paranoid, call me a lunatic. But why shouldn't I expect more of the same?"
Speaking to Hapenlok, Lyrna says, "You're paranoid and a lunatic, but that doesn't necessarily make you wrong."
Speaking amusedly to Lyrna, Leafiara says, "He's been waiting for someone to say that for years, I hope you know."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra asks, "How did you secure leadership of the Brotherhood?"
Mother begins chuckling at Ysharra!
Cryheart says, "I think that is a fair question about how ye assumed leadership, with respect."
Speaking to Cryheart, Hapenlok asks, "How does one usually assume leadership, eh? It's a matter of waving the blade around? And killing the most loyal members of the previous leader?"

Mother softly says, "Shortly after that announcement, a member of the town council will resign."
Lylia asks, "And this was brought to your attention and not mine because...?"
Mother softly says, "Do not feel threatened by my knowledge being forthcoming before you were made aware Mayor. We serve the same goal, ultimately."
Lylia says, "Asking a question is not 'feeling threatened,' I assure you. I am bare-handed and without balefire; you would know if I felt uneasy."

Mother softly says, "Imperial eyes are turning here."
Shinann says, "That is not new."
Mother softly says, "No. This will be new."
Mother softly says, "If we are finally given confirmation of what we believe is to pass, it shall be a response unlike you have seen yet."
Raelee neutrally says, "Cause and effect."

Mother softly says, "We must depart."
Mother softly asks, "Final questions?"
Darcena says, "You didn't answer half the ones we posed."
Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "You have only answered a fraction of what has already been asked. What is the use in throwing more questions at you to not be answered?"
Mother softly says, "Ask better questions. Try again."

Speaking heartily to Mother, Chamorr says, "Since when is it ok to off anybody? Dock workers or otherwise."
Speaking wryly to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "You did take Rysus' head off, you know."
Speaking to Chamorr, Ensayn says, "No killing unless Rhet says so."
Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "That was overkill."

Cryheart asks, "If I may, where do you come from?"
Mother softly says, "Nowhere."
Cryheart says, "That is a huge, if not no area."
Mother softly says, "This is not some child's poorly written bard's tale Sir Cryheart."
Mother softly says, "I am not about to reveal such private information so easily."
Mother softly says, "Not without months of proper lead up."
Leafiara knowingly says, "Ah, theatrics. Staged like a good play."

Lylia says, "Aralyte's ring, Alendrial's name, Rysus' or perhaps Rone's mask. You are a pastiche. It is quite clever to borrow from such illustrious sources."
Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "I like pistachios."
Lylia impatiently says, "Not pistachios. Although I do like them too."

Intentions

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.

Thunder rumbles in the distance as a light rain descends from the sky, adding a faint sheen to the cobbled roads of Wehnimer's Landing.

Some uniformed Wehnimer's Militia members wander by, hands on the pommels of their weapons, eyes scanning the crowds as they make their rounds.

A red-beaked dark hooded figure says, "You are all welcome to follow."

A red-beaked dark hooded figure says, "Mother is ready."

A red-beaked dark hooded figure just went east.

[Travel...]

[Wehnimer's, Dragonsclaw Rd.]

The road travels roughly parallel to the river's course, skirting the shoreline. Fishermen, traders, miners, sailors, and townsfolk trek back and forth between the storehouses, shops, docks and offices that constitute the life of Wehnimer's Landing. You also see a red-beaked dark hooded figure and a three-story brick building.

Also here: Cytiger, Ryjex, Amerek, Shinann, Tetreves, Ensayn, Hapenlok, Lyrna, Eheylien, Elphieya, Vancudais, Wolfloner, Conquerer of Reim Neovik, High Lord Repaire, Cabal, Amalara, Lady Mistyfall, Lady Katami, Gypsy Scribe Balley, Lleuo, Brigluck, Melikor, Ysharra, Lady Tarine, Lord Thrassus, Maiden Leafiara, Beyrn, Maags, Sir Cryheart, Magister Raelee, Soneiken, Mayor Lylia

The figure goes inside the building.

[Further travel...]

[Dragonsclaw Arms, Hallway]

The hallway is dimly illuminated by faintly glowing oil-lamps set in brass sconces on the wood-panelled walls. A pile of mops and brooms and buckets of greyish water stands in the corner. You also see a red-beaked dark hooded figure, a narrow oaken door and a plain door.

The figure motions to the narrow oaken door.

Mayor Lylia's group just went through a narrow oaken door.

[Dragonsclaw Arms, Back Yard]

The unpainted stone wall of the building bounds the yard on one side, and a tall wooden fence on the other. A large trash bin rests against the fence, and clumps of weeds and unmowed grass are scattered around a few squatters' shacks that occupy the corners of the unkempt lot. You also see a red-beaked dark hooded figure, a red-beaked dark hooded figure and a narrow oaken door.

Stepping into view from the shadows nestled between some abandoned sheds and shacks, a woman in a dark hooded cloak and a featureless black mask appears. As she steps closer, the light of the blood red sigils upon her mask can be seen.

Mother nods.

Cytiger says, "Mother is here."

Speaking thoughtfully to herself, Amalara says, "The Rooks."

Speaking to Mother, Evician says, "Good evening to you."

Mother softly says, "Welcome."

Speaking softly to Mother, Balley says, "I love your ring."

Speaking to Mother, Lylia says, "A pleasure to see you."

Speaking to Lylia, Hapenlok mutters, "You're saying that now...."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "I was just thinking that it was too quiet tonight."

Mother softly asks, "Your Marshal is absent?"

Mother peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Mother peers quizzically at Shinann.

Stormyrain says, "Our Marshals do not seem to be here at the moment."

Thrassus says, "Be glad he is. He's a tad tempermental."

Speaking to Pukk, Soneiken exclaims, "Da Mother loves Jesters, trust me!"

Speaking to Mother, Stormyrain offers, "Mayhaps they had a last minute issue to attend to."

Mother softly says, "Perhaps."

Darcena says, "Maybe they're drunk in an alley."

Stormyrain states, "But, please know we will share whatever message you have to the best of our ability."

Ysharra says, "Or they have other priorities."

Lylia says, "Thadston quite notably does not drink."

Evician says, "Tea guy."

Darcena says, "How awful."

Mother softly says, "Priorities have been quite the problem in this town for years."

Thrassus says, "And Thrayzar was dimensionally challenged the last I heard."

Stormyrain says, "Indeed."

Cytiger asks, "Feeding the townfolks?"

Ysharra says, "Perhaps. Preserving the choice that some people are able to exercise here can be costly in other ways."

Maags says, "Saving our townfolks from evils has been a pretties good priority."

Lylia says, "And what would your priorities be? If you were, for example, running for public office and declaiming them publicly for the scrutiny of all."

Speaking softly to Elphieya, Ensayn says, "I better clean it out."

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken asks, "Whose Priorities you speak about, ours...or yours?"

Mother softly says, "I thank you for coming. I believe too often, many of you here have had unnecessary conflict with the Brotherhood, when in truth our goals more often than not were aligned."

Maags says, "Good quesetion."

Speaking to Neopuron, Nairena says, "I got this."

Ysharra says, "...perhaps about half right. Or less."

Leafiara musingly says, "Putting it a bit mildly, but..."

Lyrna quietly says, "The goals are not always the only important factor - how those goals are acheived is also important."

Zosopage says, "Aligned perhaps but methodology not."

Mother softly says, "Granted, we could spend days debating the methods and tactics of each side. In fact, you have."

Mother laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya says, "I think perhaps the methods are what sometimes cause the rift between the Brotherhood and those of us standing here."

Speaking to Mother, Cytiger asks, "So what do you propose?"

Speaking to Elphieya, Hapenlok says, "That's my line. I'll give you that one, though. You were a lot more diplomatic than I could be."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "Or we might keep our identity secret and banter about with some aphorisms. Interesting mask."

Mother softly says, "I can assure you, while I demand fierce loyalty of the Brotherhood, and will advance the freedom and independence of Wehnimer's Landing with every action..."

Mother softly says, "The age of Drangell and Rysus are over."

Lokugrio says, "Mm."

Lokugrio says, "A new age, likely equally as disastrous as the last few."

Mother softly says, "We will not unnecessarily bleed our own to protect our own."

Leafiara musingly says, "Assurance comes with time and action, but hopefully you're right."

Ysharra says, "Loyalty can be a virtue. But you aren't the first one to speak of it."

Ensayn asks, "Will this new age bring about pillows?"

Nairena says, "Pillows are good."

Speaking to Ensayn, Evician says, "Duvets."

Speaking to Mother, Shinann says, "Forgive me if I do not put much faith into this meeting considering you will not show your face. Or anything you have to say, for that matter. I mean it is easy to be critical of us and make promises from behind a mask."

Speaking softly to Mother, Balley says, "I hope you are right, the last two met with untimely demise."

Lylia says, "We are in agreement in wishing an end to Drangell's leadership. And perhaps Rysus' as well, especially as he became...untenable."

Cryheart asks, "Exactly what is the purpose of the Brotherhood, now?"

Mother softly says, "It is ironic, you speak of masks, Captain Shinann."

Shinann asks, "Oh?"

Speaking to Balley, Hapenlok says, "I personally made sure that both met that demise."

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken says, "Hard not to judge a book by the cover, when you make an entrance as you did with that First Caravan years ago."

Maags exclaims, "The captain has to has a stern mask upon her face when she works!"

Lylia continues, "But let us be clear. You come before us masked, demanding loyalty and speaking of priorities...why, the entire town seeks safety and security. Why the need for secrecy? Why the need for Rooks at all, for that matter?"

Mother softly says, "Some are polished and black and covered in sigils. Others appear youthful and ivory with tilted eyes of green."

Speaking to Xanlin, Ensayn says, "The leader of the Cooks is here."

>look shin

You see Shinann Autura the Captain of the Wehnimer's Landing Militia.

She appears to be a Half-Sylvan.

She is tall in stature and has a svelte figure. She appears to be youthful. She has long eyelashes framing tilted green eyes and ivory skin. She has very long, shiny black hair finger-combed back into a loose fishtail braid that hangs over her shoulder, the style held by a trio of stygian braided headbands. She has an oval face, an upturned nose and a long, slender neck. She has glinting kohl black enamel brushed onto her flawlessly kept fingernails.

Speaking to Ensayn, Xanlin whispers aloud, "Rooks?"

Ensayn says, "Never heard of em."

Speaking loudly to Mother, Darcena growls, "Why do you speak so familiarly of my Captain?"

Mother peers quizzically at Lylia.

Speaking to Ensayn, Evician says, "Me either, til I got stabbed by one several times."

Mother softly asks, "Demand your loyalty?"

Speaking to Shinann, Ysharra says, "Perhaps she refers to your passenger."

Mother softly says, "Not at all. You are not of the Brotherhood."

Speaking to Ysharra, Shinann says, "Perhaps."

Speaking darkly to Evician, Ushakaron says, "Cooks rooks tomato tomato."

Speaking perplexedly to herself, Leafiara mouths, "Passenger?"

Lylia says, "No, not mine. You were the one who sought their loyalty. And I questioned your purpose in it. Or more accurately, the purpose the Rooks now serve."

Speaking to Leafiara, Ysharra explains, "Another dark-haired woman of our acquaintance, dead for a year now, nearly."

Lylia says, "Where my loyalties lie is never in question."

Mother softly says, "We serve to protect Wehnimer's Landing and its freedoms. We still exist to do that which many cannot bring themselves to do."

Speaking slowly to Ysharra, Leafiara says, "Right. Not exactly how I'd describe her, nor as a mask, but... I suppose."

Lylia murmurs, "I see. You are not far off from Rysus' promises in that regard."

Mother softly says, "Truthfully, he did more to work against that promise, than towards it."

The voice of Maylan says, "But so far she is very different from Rysus."

Lyrna says, "One's intentions are not always seen clearly."

Beldannon softly says, "I hear voices in my head."

Darcena says, "Well, she's not dead at my feet in a pile of ooze."

Shinann says, "Is she? We know nothing about her other than she gave out some sacks of food."

Lylia says, "You would get no argument from me on that. His methods were not always sound."

Ysharra says, "And that she demands loyalty from the Rooks."

The voice of Maylan says, "It's a gesture of good will."

Evician says, "Nothing wrong with feeding the needy."

Speaking to Beldannon, Nairena says, "It's okay to hear them. Just not to hold a conversation with them."

Mother softly says, "We operate in the shadows, and will continue to do so, for the betterment of this town and its people. But that does not require us to be in conflict, open or in secret, with you. Or the militia."

The voice of Maylan asks, "And wouldn't any leader require loyalty?"

Elphieya quietly says, "And hides her identity and enjoys speaking in vagueness and veiled threats."

Hapenlok asks, "You know, our most ancient and most evil foes we've had to face presented themselves as benevolent sorts. Call me paranoid, call me a lunatic. But why shouldn't I expect more of the same?"

Speaking to Mother, Maylan asks, "Are you here to offer an olive branch?"

Mother softly says, "We have larger enemies to be concerned with. We do not need conflict among our own."

Lylia smoothly says, "I prefer peace, one way or another. The peace we have here and now...or the peace that Kragnack now knows."

Ysharra says, "I am not arguing the use and merit of loyalty. I am merely suspicious of those who ask for it rather than just receive it."

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken says, "Our Captains' Militia are mere Conscripts, that pales in comparison to what you had done to those Dock workers. Stormy is not our interest, you on the other hand demand attention, especially since you shrowd yerself in a mask."

Speaking to Mother, Neopuron asks, "Who?"

Mother peers quizzically at Soneiken.

Speaking to Hapenlok, Evician says, "Paranoid Lunatic Hapenlok walks north..."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Lyrna says, "You're paranoid and a lunatic, but that doesn't necessarily make you wrong."

Maylan says, "She speaks truth, it's folly to fight amongst ourselves."

Amerek says, "She has a point."

Speaking to Mother, Zosopage says, "If we can co-exist that would be beneficial but it has to be two sided."

Speaking amusedly to Lyrna, Leafiara says, "He's been waiting for someone to say that for years, I hope you know."

Speaking to Mother, Nazarr asks, "What freedoms, particularly, do you fight for? How do you hope to achieve them? And what "larger enermies" do you speak of?"

Lyrna says, "Glad to help."

Mother nods at Nazarr.

Speaking abruptly to Mother, Darcena asks, "What do you want from the Militia?"

Cryheart says, "With all due respect m'lady, but trust comes from knowing folks. You cannae ask folks to trust someone we dinnae know and who hides behind a mask."

Mother softly says, "There exists many threats Nazarr. From individuals such as Raznel and Grishom Stone, to imperial encroachment."

Speaking to Mother, Nairena says, "You will learn that the people of the Landing are very good at coming together during a crisis."

Maylan says, "So you see? Her threats are mere warnings."

Nairena says, "Quite impressive."

Ushakaron darkly says, "To crazy sorcerers and wizards."

Mother softly says, "At this moment, I have instructed the Brotherhood to stand down in any conflict with the militia."

Speaking softly to Mother, Balley asks, "Do you have first hand knowledge of enemies that are approaching our gates immediately or on the horizon?"

Darcena says, "They tried to kill me not long ago."

Speaking to Mother, Evician says, "I appreciate that."

Mother softly says, "It is my hope, we may meet again, and discuss an essential....peace between the two."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya says, "That seems a good place to start towards working together."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra asks, "How did you secure leadership of the Brotherhood?"

Ensayn perplexedly asks, "Are there threats at the gates? In the town?"

Speaking to Mother, Nazarr asks, "Indeed, there are many threats. But which ones are you most concerned with? And why?"

Speaking to Mother, Darcena asks, "Will you reveal yourself to the Militia?"

Ensayn asks, "Here?"

Mother begins chuckling at Ysharra!

Leafiara admits, "It's not a bad start. A lasting truce... how long I'd hoped for it..."

Speaking to Mother, Ryjex says, "Tell your kids not to walk my way."

Lylia murmurs, "So many questions, you may as well consider running for mayor."

Speaking to Mother, Roelaren says, "That would indeed be a good place to start."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "I am curious how this loyalty began."

Cryheart says, "I think that is a fair question about how ye assumed leadership, with respect."

Mother softly says, "It is my hope, the Marshal and you all will consider such, and we shall meet again to discuss further details."

Speaking softly to Mother, Balley says, "I mean Stone has been around, have never seen Raznel, and the imperials are just being themselves."

Mother softly says, "But that is not all I wished to discuss this night."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Elphieya says, "It sounds like she is getting ready to dismiss us."

Speaking wryly to Balley, Leafiara says, "Sometimes, when it comes to imperials, that's the problem."

Speaking to Cryheart, Hapenlok asks, "How does one usually assume leadership, eh? It's a matter of waving the blade around? And killing the most loyal members of the previous leader?"

Raelee surreptitiously glances at Leafiara.

Raelee's gaze takes on an intense focus as her eyes flare brilliantly with a hot white glow.

Balley softly says, "They are imperials that is enough said."

Speaking to Cryheart, Hapenlok says, "It's how I was deposed as Ship's Captain, basically."

Speaking nonchalantly to Raelee, Leafiara stresses, "Sometimes."

Speaking darkly to Hapenlok, Ushakaron asks, "Process of elimination maybe, she was 3rd in line?"

Speaking to Mother, Maylan says, "I thank you for the charity and goodwill you have brought to our town."

Council Resignation

Mother softly says, "Within a week's time, your town council will announce the new campaign season for mayoral elections."

Lylia says, "Oh, we go where we choose."

Zosopage says, "I would hope they voted her leader but not counting on that."

Beldannon softly says, "Mayor time again I see."

Shinann asks, "Why are you telling us?"

Speaking to Mother, Thrassus asks, "And?"

Speaking to Shinann, Hapenlok quips, "She's throwing the cat in the ring. She's running."

Speaking to Maylan, Lylia says, "Charity and goodwill that is less necessary after the influx of silvers at the docks. How fortunate we have been to have such prosperity."

Mother softly says, "Shortly after that announcement, a member of the town council will resign."

Speaking to Maylan, Soneiken asks, "What about those Dock workers, da ones whose throats were cut, that is goodwill?"

Evician asks, "Really?"

Speaking to Mother, Nazarr says, "To run for mayor, I presume."

Mother softly says, "No."

Lylia asks, "And this was brought to your attention and not mine because...?"

Speaking to Soneiken, Maylan says, "I dunno who was responsible for all that."

Leafiara asks, "Is that member's term up already or have you... heard rumors?"

Cryheart says, "Ye are quite knowledgeable."

Speaking to Mother, Stormyrain asks, "Do you seek to join the council?"

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "How do you know this? And how loosely are you using the word "resign"?"

Darcena says, "Perhaps that member of the council is before us now."

Mother glances at Lylia.

Darcena asks, "Took on a new job?"

Ushakaron darkly says, "That was my thought."

Speaking to Maylan, Soneiken asks, "Are you saying the Loresong was in error, that or Bard was incompetent?"

Speaking to Soneiken, Maylan says, "I'm saying I dunno."

Ysharra says, "There is a council member with a long history with the Brotherhood."

Neovik says, "When they resign I'm assuming that means we won't see them again."

Speaking to Maylan, Soneiken says, "Well some of us heard the Loresong and its vivid descriptions."

Mother softly says, "Do not feel threatened by my knowledge being forthcoming before you were made aware Mayor. We serve the same goal, ultimately."

Ysharra says, "It is possible that information flows. More than possible, probable."

Mother nods at Lylia.

Speaking to Neovik, Hapenlok says, "If you believe that, I've got a palace in Tamzyrr to sell you."

Speaking to Soneiken, Maylan says, "I'm sure it was a pretty song."

Speaking to Maylan, Stormyrain says, "The small one is asking if you disbelieve the truth of my song."

Lylia says, "Asking a question is not 'feeling threatened,' I assure you. I am bare-handed and without balefire; you would know if I felt uneasy."

Speaking softly to Hapenlok, Beldannon says, "I might be interested in that palace."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Maylan exclaims, "I dunno!"

Mother softly says, "I have worked hard to root out within the Brotherhood the remnants of Drangell or Rysus."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Darcena says, "I think of Ach--- Ach--- that song."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Maylan asks, "How can I disbelieve a song I haven't heard?"

Speaking to Mother, Shinann says, "Yet it does beg an answer as to why you would know."

Stormyrain asks, "Or was that one Archales?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Darcena says, "The lore song of the corpses."

Leafiara agrees, "That one was Archales."

Speaking softly to Mother, Beldannon asks, "Hard to root out everyone with so many masks?"

Evician says, "Perhaps she is a gatherer of information, like most of the Rooks are."

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "The sudden lack of air and the void turning the room into applesauce..."

Mother softly says, "There was one among the council who held loyalties to Rysus and the old way of the Brotherhood."

Stormyrain says, "Archales is not known to be anything more than truthful."

Hapenlok says, "Hey, before the Rooks destroyed themselves, they had a nasty way of finding out things that they weren't supposed to know. Anywhere from Militia Operations to the proclivites of certain politicians and shopowners."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Soneiken says, "I heard Archales."

Maylan says, "Well that is not a surprise to us."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Soneiken says, "And I saw the dead dockworkers."

Mother softly says, "Within a week's time, Beldrin shall resign from the town council. So your election for Mayor is even more important, as they will be tasked with selecting a new town council member as well."

Speaking to Soneiken, Stormyrain says, "I misremembered which of us shared that one. After so many years they melt into one, from time to time."

Speaking lightly to Ysharra, Darcena muses, "I hope she spares me. I will just run around with my tongue out."

Mother softly says, "I tell you this, because some conflict ends in blood. But not all solutions are paved in such."

Ysharra says, "Most of them start that way, too."

Lylia smoothly replies, "We have bathed in enough blood at Glaoveln. Peace has been welcome; we all hope it continues."

Nairena says, "Plenty of blood soaked into the streets of The Landing."

Speaking to Mother, Nazarr asks, "You keep saying our goals align. What do you see our goals as?"

Speaking to Lylia, Darcena reminds, "Snacks."

Mother softly says, "It is important that we embrace someone who will fully support and protect the independence of Wehnimer's Landing."

Tetreves says, "Snakes."

Speaking to Nazarr, Zosopage says, "The town's safety and prosperity I would think."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "Did you have someone in mind?"

Mother softly says, "Within the council. Within the mayoral office."

Speaking to Mother, Nairena asks, "Are you going to run for Mayor?"

Speaking to Mother, Wolfloner asks, "The conflict between the Rooks is over?"

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok asks, "That argument again?"

Nairena says, "I like the mask."

Ensayn says, "And the comfort of the Landing."

Speaking to Mother, Berkana says, "With the door closed, since it now shuts."

Darcena asks, "Are you saying Lylia has not done such?"

Speaking to Mother, Nazarr says, "You already have that."

Lylia agrees, "Soft power. Just so. We have seen the success of it so far."

Mother softly says, "Imperial eyes are turning here."

Evician says, "That's never a surprise."

Shinann says, "That is not new."

Mother softly says, "No. This will be new."

Roelaren says, "They have been on us for a very long time."

Cryheart says, "They hae been turned to here for awhile."

Speaking to Mother, Evician asks, "In what way?"

Shinann asks, "Care to elaborate?"

Cryheart asks, "Hmm...what do ye mean by new?"

Speaking to Mother, Nazarr says, "Unsurprisingly, as we are a frontier town that is an imperial protectorate."

Leafiara dryly says, "At the risk of half not wanting to know the answer, enlighten us."

Mother softly says, "If we are finally given confirmation of what we believe is to pass, it shall be a response unlike you have seen yet."

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok asks, "Partly because of your predecessors. And partly because, a lot of them have come to realize the power we're sitting next to?"

Ysharra asks, "Which of the chess pieces is starting their gambit on the board, now?"

Raelee neutrally says, "Cause and effect."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra asks, "The new Hochstib? Another Grand Magister?"

Mother softly says, "It has stemmed from many years of what they deem chaos here, but most signifcantly the development of Grishom Stone in the area."

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "No offense."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "Perhaps you can share in more detail? How are we to prepare with only partial information?"

Speaking to Ryjex, Maags says, "Not a snack."

Speaking to Nazarr, Wolfloner says, "Not all of us choose to live under the boot of that oppression."

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok says, "....it comes back to him. It always does."

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "Ones acting on their own agenda, at the least."

Thrassus asks, "Perhaps they will simply enlarge their presence here?"

Mother softly says, "You cannot prepare with partial information, and so at this juncture, you shall have nothing else. Until we ourselves are certain."

Speaking evenly to Ysharra, Raelee asks, "Is that not everyone?"

Hapenlok murmurs, "I love it when I'm right."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Nazarr says, "I did not say I liked it. I stated what the situation is, not what I would have it be."

Speaking to Mother, Lyrna asks, "So you WANT us to be unable to prepare?"

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "I certainly hope not. At least not the ones with cursed ancient artifacts at their disposal."

Pukk quietly says, "Teasing us with partial info."

Thrassus asks, "Turn the Outpost into a full fledged fortress or the like?"

Ensayn stiffly says, "So far I'm most afraid of my tea."

Speaking to Mother, Tetreves says, "You speak in riddles."

Evician says, "She said she had some information, not all of it."

Evician says, "Good grief."

Leafiara flinches as the flames surrounding her autumn-hued sandals flare out suddenly!

Mother softly says, "We will share more once we confirm. We should always be prepared."

Ysharra says, "Perhaps she's hinting at the likely response to the Vaalor taking up real estate west of the Spine."

Evician says, "And plainly said, she wasnt going to go into more detail without more factual evidence."

Speaking to Mother, Zosopage asks, "They are not happy with just an outpost anymore and wish to control the town?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Darcena says, "Good gracious, pour some water on those things."

Speaking lightly to Darcena, Leafiara jests, "They flare up with my mood, sometimes."

Hapenlok mutters, "So she's telling us what I've been preaching for the past five years. What else is new? Doesn't mean I trust her any more."

Speaking offhandedly to Hapenlok, Leafiara says, "Yeah, but to be fair you don't trust anyone."

Shinann says, "Perhaps she knows nothing. It is a good way to string us along. Until I hear something concrete it is an idle rumor."

Mother nods at Wolfloner.

Evician says, "She said Beldrin would be resigning, I think that's important information."

Hapenlok says, "And for five years, it's been one more distraction after another, distracting us after the true targets."

Maags says, "Does Beldrin know he will be resigning."

Speaking quietly to Hapenlok, Elphieya asks, "Who are the true targets?"

Hapenlok says, "Until you prove otherwise? You're just another one."

Lylia says, "Only fools are unprepared, but only greater fools than they believe they are fully prepared for what may come based on so little information."

Speaking to Evician, Tetreves says, "By choice or by threat, I wonder."

Mother softly says, "We shall begin discussions with Marshal Thadston, if he is able to meet with us and you all in a week."

Speaking to Maags, Maylan says, "Ohh good question."

Speaking to Mother, Thrassus asks, "Might you have heard of any rumors from the east?"

Maylan asks, "And oh oh oh, can we be there when you tell him?"

Lylia says, "I always welcome seeing Thadston."

Mother softly says, "We shall not finalize any true agreement until your elections are over."

Stormyrain corrects, "Interim Marshal Thadston."

Ysharra says, "In truth, I had wondered why we hadn't heard much from the Empire over it. Between the Vaalor, the killing of Kragnack, and the Kestrel family's demise, they have been awfully silent."

Stormyrain mutters, "Thrayzar is still the Marshal proper."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "My lack of trust in people saved this town a few times."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Pukk says, "If it wasn't for the rules, the blood and more rules. I would so join you guys. But then again, if you let me join you. I wouldn't want to join you. That would mean that you guys didn't have your standards high enough."

Speaking seriously to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "You'd do well to remember that."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Leafiara agrees, "I'm sure that's true. It wasn't a criticism."

Speaking to Pukk, Evician asks, "Good thing they have high standards then eh?"

Pukk quietly says, "I did say rules."

Mother nods to the dark hooded figure.

Evician turns to Mother and bows low, spreading his wings for all to see.

Speaking to Mother, Evician says, "Be well."

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken exclaims, "You will still need to answer for the slain dockworkers, that will not just disappear from your resume Mother!"

Questions

Mother softly says, "We must depart."

Mother softly asks, "Final questions?"

Hapenlok mutters, "I've heard enough of this nonsense."

Lylia says, "I am certain that the Vaalor would see Imperial interest here as a troubling sign, just as the Empire would see Vaaloran expansion as concerning. A confluence of forces, right here in our own small frontier town."

Darcena says, "You didn't answer half the ones we posed."

Speaking to Mother, Maylan says, "Can I have a sack too? I want whatever those kids got."

Speaking playfully to Darcena, Leafiara asks, "Hope springs eternal, though?"

Ensayn says, "Perhaps we don't need to trample a yard next time we meet."

Pukk quietly says, "Ooh free gifts."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "You have only answered a fraction of what has already been asked. What is the use in throwing more questions at you to not be answered?"

Speaking to herself, Maylan says, "I bet it was tasty."

Pukk quietly exclaims, "Me too!"

Speaking to Maylan, Hapenlok mutters, "Probably poisoned."

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra asks, "We do tend to take up space in the metaphoric crossroads of the world, do we not?"

Mother softly says, "Ask better questions. Try again."

Mother nods at Elphieya.

Speaking to Hapenlok, Maylan asks, "When has poison ever troubled me?"

Speaking teasingly to Elphieya, Maylan says, "That was a waste of a question."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Pukk asks, "I lost a pair of socks last week. Have you seen em?"

Lyrna says, "I don't actually think the Vaalorians care much at all about Landing, honestly."

Speaking to Maylan, Hapenlok says, "Point taken."

Leafiara says, "That's a pretty good one, but your predecessor was still funnier."

Speaking to Mother, Darcena asks, "Will you reveal yourself to the Militia?"

Speaking to Lyrna, Nairena says, "Not really."

Mother softly says, "No."

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken asks, "WHY did you have the dockworkers killed? Is that a good question?"

Speaking to Lyrna, Lylia says, "Of course not; it is quite far from their home. But they would care, I believe, if the Turamzzyrian Empire were to suddenly flex its muscle."

Pukk quietly says, "I liked those socks."

Speaking to Lyrna, Ysharra says, "I think they have the same interest anyone else does. Having access to trade routes and information."

Hapenlok sarcastically says, "Of course not."

Ushakaron darkly says, "There are ways to unmask people, not sure we want to go there yet though."

Mother softly says, "They were more than dockworkers."

Speaking abruptly to Mother, Darcena asks, "What do you want from the Militia?"

Speaking to Ushakaron, Hapenlok says, "Agreed."

Maylan says, "We should have an identity reveal party where you put your true identity in a pinata shaped like you. We can all take turns beating the pinata until your name falls out."

Darcena says, "More specifically than 'alliance.'"

Speaking to Mother, Cytiger asks, "Like what others?"

Speaking to Mother, Shinann asks, "Are you admitting to killing them?"

Speaking to Maylan, Lylia says, "Oh, you have such clever ideas for parties."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "What else were they?"

Speaking to Maylan, Ysharra says, "Sometimes they end up in you getting arrested, though."

Evician asks, "Agents?"

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken asks, "Okay we get that, but you sidestepped our laws in doing so, how can we trust you in the future if you just dismiss our leaders?"

Speaking to Lylia, Berkana says, "We do have pinatas at the house..."

Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are being watched.

The feeling fades as quickly as it came.

Pukk quietly says, "Somebody is looking at me."

Speaking heartily to Mother, Chamorr says, "Since when is it ok to off anybody? Dock workers or otherwise."

Lylia says, "Indeed. We are a community of law, not of might."

Mother softly says, "The burden of reshaping the Brotherhood of Rooks falls on no one else but me."

Mother nods at Soneiken.

Speaking wryly to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "You did take Rysus' head off, you know."

Speaking to Chamorr, Ensayn says, "No killing unless Rhet says so."

Speaking to Lylia, Darcena murmurs, "Sometimes."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "Laws are just another form of rules....bah."

Cryheart asks, "If I may, where do you come from?"

Speaking softly to Pukk, Beldannon says, "I hate rules."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "That was overkill."

Lylia smoothly replies, "Our town, our rules."

Mother softly says, "Nowhere."

Mother nods at Cryheart.

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "But I'm a bear."

Speaking softly to Mother, Beldannon asks, "And everywhere?"

Maags asks, "So they were Rooks who did not wish to make yous their leader?"

Cryheart says, "That is a huge, if not no area."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "You know, you could have turned them into the authorities."

Hapenlok mutters, "I wonder if that mask is glued on...."

Speaking thoughtfully to Mother, Darcena asks, "Do you have a plan on how to face Grishom?"

Mother softly says, "This is not some child's poorly written bard's tale Sir Cryheart."

Mother nods at Cryheart.

Speaking to himself, Hapenlok asks, "I said that out loud, did i?"

Leafiara skeptically say, "Nothing comes from nothing, the saying goes--and nobody comes from nowhere. And you're not nobody."

Speaking to Mother, Evician says, "I know where that is, it's through the portal back on my homeworld."

Mother softly says, "I am not about to reveal such private information so easily."

Mother softly says, "Not without months of proper lead up."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra asks, "Are there shadows where this void of yours roams?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Hapenlok asks, "Where'd you learn how to interrogate?"

Leafiara knowingly says, "Ah, theatrics. Staged like a good play."

Darcena says, "I'm not sure that you are bringing anything to an alliance with the militia." [Mother comes back to this further in the log]

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra asks, "The nothing you come from?"

Lylia says, "Aralyte's ring, Alendrial's name, Rysus' or perhaps Rone's mask. You are a pastiche. It is quite clever to borrow from such illustrious sources."

Cryheart says, "A straight question without trying to be facetious."

Evician says, "You guys are funny, she has us bottlenecked, and you're all talking trash. I love it."

Speaking to Cryheart, Hapenlok says, "...yes, if you're asking a complete idiot that sort of question."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr asks, "A what?"

Cryheart says, "If we are to trust her, we need to get to know her."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "I like pistachios."

Lokugrio says, "Borrowed pieces.. like a golem."

Speaking offhandedly to Evician, Leafiara confesses, "I'm more amused than anything at all the dodging."

Lylia impatiently says, "Not pistachios. Although I do like them too."

Speaking surprisedly to Evician, Darcena says, "I'm not talking trash."

Speaking to Lylia, Soneiken says, "I'm sorry Mayor, but what she proposes does not speak of equal authorities, she does not wish for us to have insight and guidence in the Rooks' actions, but instead asks that of you, her deal is not a good one at the moment."

Nairena says, "They are tasty."

Mother softly asks, "You needn't know my origin to trust me. Would I just give you a name, a region, a time? And you suddenly trust me?"

Mother peers quizzically at Cryheart.

Speaking to Darcena, Evician says, "I'm just thankful we all don't have a dagger in his spines right now."

Mother softly says, "You're better than that. I hope."

Cryheart says, "That is just the beginning."

Ushakaron darkly says, "Some would."

Speaking to Soneiken, Lylia says, "I always enjoy seeing what is set before us on the table before we choose what to eat."

Mother softly says, "Trust will fall into place in other ways."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "Trust is won by bonds and by offering."

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok says, "Well, it depends. some of us might want to kill you if you say you're from ....Jantalar."

Cryheart says, "And I don't trust strangers upon face value."

Speaking to Lylia, Soneiken says, "Agreed."

Speaking heartily to Mother, Chamorr says, "Yer the head of da Rooks, why should we trust ya at all."

Speaking to Mother, Maylan says, "Trust falls? Okay I'm game."

Maylan leans back.

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok says, "Not saying you're Jantalarian, that was just an example."

Maylan falls over.

Mother softly says, "Soon Beldrin will resign as I have orchestrated and revealed to you."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra asks, "Most of us start off with the easy questions. What's your name, what's your birthday?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Evician asks, "What about mask value?"

Leafiara repeats, "Orchestrated, mm."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "Orchestrated?"

Mother softly says, "In addition, there shall be no conflict among the militia and the Brotherhood at this time."

Ensayn asks, "Does Beldrin get a say in this?"

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr asks, "Can we whack her?"

Speaking softly to Mother, Beldannon asks, "Is that because he is openeing a new casino?"

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "You can't blame us for calling you out on your...convuluted path to our loyalty."

Mother softly says, "I do not seek your loyalty."

Speaking to Chamorr, Lylia says, "A town of law, not force...I believe we should hold off on that."

Mother softly says, "Cooperation, at best."

Speaking to Mother, Lyrna says, "I suspect that's EXACTly the point. We're all from different places, different times, different backgrounds. She looks to be judged on actions and words rather than other ... attributes."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "Those come easier with trust."

Lylia says, "Cooperation comes when there is mutual trust and understanding."

Cryheart says, "Now that is something to build trust upon."

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok says, "...don't look at me, I'll never trust you any farther than I can throw you....and with my meager control of the earth, it's not that far."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Pukk says, "And his short arms."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "You speak about our independence. We have it so those of us like myself, or my Faendryl kin, or the former slaves by law or by misfortune- they are able to make a path here."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "And if you value it as much as you claim, you should think about how you get our cooperation."

Zosopage says, "At the moment these are only words, we will see what actions reveal."

Speaking to Mother, Nairena says, "You got to work extra hard around here to win trust and respect."

Cryheart says, "Amen."

Speaking to Zosopage, Cytiger says, "Aye, actions. So far, actions we've seen is killing folks and giving townfolks unknown bags of 'food.'"

Mother peers quizzically at Darcena.

Chamorr heartily says, "Since when does the Rooks seek trust an respect."

Evician asks, "New leadership, new agenda?"

Darcena asks, "Hmm?"

Speaking to Cytiger, Zosopage says, "Not arguing that point but not enough to really go on."

Cryheart says, "We shall see."

Cryheart says, "In time."

Evician says, "Everyone, including ourselves have an agenda of something or another."

Chamorr heartily says, "Lock her up."

Nazarr asks, "Since they decided that it would be easier to manipulate us out of our own self-interest than to risk more confrontation?"

Mother softly says, "You wondered what we can bring."

Speaking distractedly to Evician, Leafiara says, "That's exactly why all the questions are coming."

Mother nods at Darcena.

Cryheart says, "And no disrespect m'lady, but trust will be built upon words and actioin...so we wait."

Darcena says, "I did."

Mother softly says, "Information. It is no secret there are things the militia cannot acquire or accomplish with rank and uniform."

Evician says, "Agreed."

Speaking to Mother, Ensayn asks, "I was more inclined to trust when the children were being fed. Are you still?"

Speaking slowly to Mother, Darcena says, "If you would like to pass information..."

Mother softly says, "Likewise, there are things perhaps we could benefit from in return."

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok admits, "...I have to admit, that was a thought that crossed my mind quite often when I actually was in the Militia."

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken says, "What you can bring other than 8 inch knives to dockworkers throats or Arrows slung from the tops of our buildings at both us and our adversaries."

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok says, "...among other things."

Mother nods at Darcena.

Speaking to Mother, Neopuron asks, "What are you seeking to benefit from?"

Mother softly says, "Cooperation."

Maylan says, "I am so very sleepy. I think I shall dream of....."

Maylan says, "Whiskey."

Mother softly says, "We have little precious time to wage in conflict within our own walls."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Elphieya asks, "Cooperation? Or servitude?"

Mother softly says, "There exists far too many threats beyond them."

Lylia asks, "I agree with you on that much. Where we have one point of disagreement is this matter of loyalty. Allowing a fiercely loyal, perhaps even fanatical, faction to remain hidden within the town itself and swearing fealty to you seems a poor choice. Why should so much power be ceded to you? On what grounds?"

Leafiara suggests, "I always thought that if the Rooks would just pass along information and leave the fighting and justice to the militia, it would have been a workable truce. Maybe it was optimistic, or maybe it's still possible."

Speaking to Mother, Neopuron asks, "Yeah, but that's just cause. What's your real desire?"

Ysharra says, "We could always ask the Pale Lady's temple to share their coffers. The valences know they have enough to bankroll Shantytown into a paradise."

Speaking heartily to Mother, Chamorr asks, "A free port for yer activities?"

Lylia says, "And I do not ask this as a point of conflict. I have no wish to breed scabs. But you must admit, if you were in my shoes..."

Speaking to Lylia, Soneiken says, "Well said Mayor."

Speaking to Lylia, Ryjex says, "I concur."

Ryjex says, "Do you concur."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "You wear boots though."

Mother softly says, "There are always those who will exist in the shadows. It is better someone leads them, than no one at all."

Mother nods at Lylia.

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia says, "Not always."

Speaking to Mother, Nairena says, "You could have conducted your business in the shadows without telling the Landing folks. This is a good first step."

Ensayn says, "Lead them to the light."

Speaking to Mother, Lylia says, "True enough. But those who lead them must in turn have a certain degree of loyalty to a greater ideal. Or to a greater power."

Evician says, "Apologies as I mean no disrespect Mother, but I must be off."

Evician turns to Mother and bows low, spreading his wings for all to see.

Mother nods at Evician.

Bernadette softly says, "Mebee."

Speaking to Mother, Soneiken asks, "Okay that answer is too spooky, Grishom resides in da Shadows, is that the leader you speak of, are you twisting your words?"

Mother softly says, "We are all loyal to Wehnimer's Landing above all else."

Speaking heartily to Mother, Chamorr says, "You intend to fattened our coffers in exchange for.......cooperation, right."

Lylia asks, "And if there is a difference of opinion about what is best for the Landing?"

Zosopage says, "I do have to agree, a leaderless mob is dangerous but they can be more dangerous depending on the leader. We have to trust.. no...hope you are a good leader and person."

Speaking to Mother, Hapenlok says, "Funny, Rysus said the same thing. Then the lunatic told his Rooks to attack the outpost, some months later."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Elphieya says, "Then I would guess she will end the truce as quickly as she started it."

Pukk greedily asks, "Free silvers you say?"

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "What's your birthday? Come on, at least one of the easy questions, if you won't give us your name."

Mother softly says, "The date I was born."

Mother nods at Ysharra.

Speaking to Ysharra, Lylia says, "I have a few gift ideas there."

Speaking to Lylia, Wolfloner says, "If I may."

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "Polite conversation is a lost art."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Lylia says, "Of course."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Pukk says, "Good answer."

Speaking to Ysharra, Melikor says, "That checks out."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "You're worse than Thrassus. And that's saying something."

Cytiger says, "Mother does have a good sense of humor."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Might be a way to build our shipping industry."

Speaking quietly to Cytiger, Pukk says, "I like her humor."

Mother softly says, "Perhaps with an agreement with the militia, we can avoid conflict over what is truly in the best interest for Wehnimer's Landing."

Speaking mockingly to Thrassus, Ysharra says, "Perhaps."

Wolfloner says, "The Empire has its own organizations like the Silver Kings and Bayrunners they allow to exist. We have among us the Rooks."

Speaking to Ysharra, Thrassus says, "Perhaps, yes."

Speaking to Ysharra, Cytiger says, "Ask around one."

Speaking to Ysharra, Cytiger says, "I mean, another one."

Mother softly says, "They are not "allowed" to exist."

Mother softly says, "No more than the Brotherhood is."

Leafiara offers, "It's a free town of many walks and there's not going to be any consensus. As long as we're not still killing each other in the streets over disagreements, things aren't too bad."

Mother softly says, "Had there been a way to crush us, many before would have."

Wolfloner says, "It is not reasonable to expect an immediate reconciliation considering the past with the Rooks and the town's association with the Empire."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Soneiken says, "You'll look interesting with a long beak attached to your nose."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Hapenlok says, "It's not as if they're allowed to exist."

Speaking quietly to Mother, Pukk whispers aloud, "I heard that if you give Stormy a good cup of coffee she might not scowl as much and won't be as grumpy. Just some advice."

Speaking to Cytiger, Ysharra says, "I think between myself and Cryheart we've gotten what we're getting."

Mother softly says, "So the time for conflict is over. We should embrace cooperation."

Speaking to Leafiara, Lylia says, "Ah, just so. If we disagree on 'what is best for the Landing,' that is the rub."

Speaking to Mother, Zosopage says, "Not for lack of trying."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Beldannon says, "As long as there is gambling and fishing you know I will live here, take that away and well yeah I will move."

Wolfloner says, "An attempt at cooperation seems a reasonable path to explore."

Speaking heartily to Mother, Chamorr says, "So, negotiation on the cost of compliance."

Mother softly says, "Goodnight to you all."

Cryheart says, "Good eve to ye, m'lady."

Speaking to Mother, Cytiger says, "Good night."

Speaking to Mother, Zosopage says, "Rest well."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Hapenlok says, "Remember, they are outlawed. But they've got a nasty habit of surviving all sorts of purges."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "Sweet dreams, Mother."

Lylia replies, "Goodnight to you as well. Next time, you are more than welcome in my office."

Speaking to Mother, Ysharra says, "You really need something else for me to call you, though."

Maags exclaims, "Sweet dreams if yous can!"

Mother moves towards the shadows nestled between some abandoned shacks and disappears into the night. The red-beaked figures slip in behind her and vanish as well.
