Synopsis

Commander Sablo takes questions at the Imperial campsite, saying we'll deal with Gnul "soon enough." Sir Guarrin mentions Captain Bodohal's warship as Alosaka, Commodore Jaysehn, and others add that Bodohal fired on Landing vessels and townspeople and Sablo says he'll get verification of Bodohal's standing.

Back to Gnul, Sablo's seen this kind of monster unity with an ogre mountain king half a decade ago, but picking off his generals, burning their breeding grounds, and slaughtering the wildlife to lead them to seek food in trapped territory broke them up. He expects Gnul to plan a large attack within days and wants to formulate strategies to push against Gnul and make him reactive. The settlement will be building towers soon for more defense. Sablo wants to attack the griffin nests if they can be found, too, but the griffins would need to be pulled away first.

After more back and forth, Sablo concludes by saying he expects an attack from Gnul by the week's end, hopes to push an offensive the week afterward, and expects more of the Barony of Darkstone's supply wagons in coming weeks.

Log

Sablo in the Camp

Tiny flakes of glistening snow descend from the sky, tossed about on the cold winter winds.

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine, the Geijon disk, the Vaemyr disk, the Guarrin disk, the Urpy disk, the Stormyrain disk, the Rimalo disk, the Ardimas disk, the Dayshim disk, the Morbad disk, the flaming Nairena disk, an inlaid leather grimoire soaring around with its gilt-swept ethereal violet pinions, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake sprouting yellow primroses, a lazy wild blood red dog, the web-draped Missoni disk, the Lokhem disk, a crude bone key, a crude bone key, a crude bone key, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Citan disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, the Noctiss disk, the Aenternoll disk, a large acorn, a heavy quartz orb, the Witfog disk, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin and some wide stone benches with some stuff on it.

Also here: Event Planner Leafiara, Kelfyr, Conquerer of Reim Geijon, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Sir Guarrin, Lady Urpy, Stormyrain, Mourdeyan, Rimalo, Wolfloner, Lady Elliathe, Lady Ardimas, Commodore Jaysehn, Dayshim, Morbad, Infernum who is lying down, Lady Nairena, Conquerer of Reim Missoni, Alosaka, Mahrudsa, Lokhem, Perigourd, Citan, High Lord Irval, Drektor, Noctiss, Aenternoll who is sitting, Lord Witfog who is sitting

Speaking to Leafiara, Nairena says, "Its snowing."

Speaking amusedly to Nairena, Leafiara says, "I noticed."

A tiny kitten arrives, dodging the many trampling feet.

Leafiara gently pets the kitten.

Kelfyr gently pets the kitten.

Kelfyr says, "Floods of minotaurs, trolls, giants, gremlins, and the lot, and yet the kitten still wanders around unbothered and unscathed."

Speaking to Urpy, Jaysehn says, "I'm not sure what about that would.....OH.....oh..."

Urpy sings:

"Yo ho, hey ho - hey all hands in a row

Man the pumps down below

Yo hey ho - now we row"

Speaking to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "Maybe Gnul thinks it will grow up into a lion one day, and the lions are on his side, so..."

Urpy sings:

"Yo ho, hey ho - hey all hands in a row

Man the pumps down below

Yo hey ho - now we row"

Speaking to Kelfyr, Elliathe asks, "Perhaps it is too small to be seen?"

Speaking to Kelfyr, Nairena says, "The same with that petal-pushing hussy."

Urpy sings:

"Rowing in a rowing boat

A trail behind me left afloat

I'll raise the level of the sea

Enjoying my own company"

Kelfyr says, "Too small and too cute to harm."

Urpy sings:

"One oar on the deck I stow

Frees next hand to go below

I ain't going straight to port

Of fantasies I'm never short"

Speaking to Urpy, Leafiara says, "Been a while since an Urpy performance."

Some settlers walk by, moving towards a shop to get some supplies, and can be heard talking, "...and the Commander was near the bonfire, but I didn't bother him tonight, maybe perhaps.." Their voices trail off.

Urpy sings:

"Yo ho, hey ho - hey all hands in a row

Man the pumps down below

Yo hey ho - now we row"

Urpy sings:

"Yo ho, hey ho - hey all hands in a row

Man the pumps down below

Yo hey ho - now we row"

Guarrin says, "Well then."

Vaemyr says, "The encampment."

Urpy sings:

"Some like rowing two and two

Or pass the oar along the crew

Others row in solitude

All dressed up or in the nude"

Guarrin says, "Off to the new camp."

Alosaka says, "Off we go, I suppose."

Guarrin says, "Moving in a moment."

Urpy sings:

"Some go left, and some go right

In circles rowing day and night

Takes a while to get us there

But timewise we are millionaires"

[travel]

Alosaka says, "This game again."

[Imperial Campsite]

A roaring bonfire demands attention from the center of this temporary town, its coppery gold flames mesmerizing as they dance. Rows of tents bordering the fire create purposeful pathways to other areas of the camp. You also see the Vaemyr disk, a long wooden log and a stained wooden keg.

Sablo leans over, perched upon the log, and slowly sharpens his drake dagger with the whetstone in his hand.

Perigourd says, "It's east of the entry."

>l sab

You see Commander Sablo Marsh.

He appears to be a Human from Darkstone.

He is tall and has broud shoulders. He appears to be young. He has calculating amber-specked hazel eyes and weathered tanned skin. He has shoulder length, unruly umber hair. He has a rounded face, a straight nose and a square jawline covered behind a thick but neatly trimmed beard. A jagged pink scar splits his left eyebrow.

He is in good shape.

He is holding a sharpened drake dagger in his right hand and a rough grey whetstone in his left hand.

He is wearing a horned blackened mithril warhelm, a crystal amulet, a fur-lined black bear hide cloak, a sharp-edged large mithril shield, a weathered troll skin pack clasped with a shriveled orc skull, a triple-linked ebony vultite haubergeon, some stained mithril gauntlets, a sleek oiled black leather scabbard with a large jagged blue tomahawk and a large jagged silver tomahawk hanging from it, a fang-fringed dagger sheath, some dark bear hide pants, and some rugged black leather boots.

Sablo squints, continuing to sharpen his dagger.

A trio of soldiers march by, their uniforms mismatched and stained as they keep a watchful eye on the campgrounds as they patrol. [ambient message]

Irval says, "Commander Sablo, thank you for your help the other night."

Sablo nods to the soldiers briefly who march by.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Indeed."

Sablo turns away from Irval, ignoring him.

Speaking cordially to Sablo, Guarrin greets, "Commander."

[General] Urpy exclaims, "Rude to leave in the middle of a performance!"

Nairena says, "The strong silent type."

Sablo tucks a rough grey whetstone into one of the large pouches lining the inside of his black bear hide cloak.

[General] Jaysehn thinks, "Duty calls."

Sablo looks up, raising his dagger before him.

Sablo tilts his drake dagger side to side, making the light play off it.

Sablo nods.

Sablo put a sharpened drake dagger in his black leather boots.

Sablo stands up.

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "Commander Sablo I presume? We are people from Wehnimer's. I'm Town Councilor Vaemyr."

Sablo moves to stand in front of Irval.

Sablo bows to Irval.

Irval bows to Sablo.

Sablo says, "It is always a pleasure to grind monsters to dust."

Irval agrees with Sablo.

Speaking quietly to Kayse, Dannai asks, "Back to my question . . .the mayor is the only one that can activate the pylons?"

Sablo says, "You are all some of the fiercest I've seen. They were not speaking in jest of you."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Mourdeyan says, "Love for ye to meet Gnul in that case."

Sablo says, "We will meet Gnul, soon enough."

Speaking to Dannai, Kayse says, "Him or someone higher ranking."

Sablo says, "Even stone can be grinded to pebbles."

Irval says, "And he too will be ground to dust..."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Ready sir."

Citan deeply says, "Rocks do make fine dust."

Speaking melodically to Leafiara, Urpy says, "You left."

Speaking to Urpy, Leafiara says, "It was as Jaysehn said."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Need some gravel on the rods, keep the mud at bay."

Sablo twists slightly, cracking his spine. He looks much better.

Speaking to Leafiara, Jaysehn says, "Hey now....don't point the woman with two blades in her hands at me."

Sablo moves over to a log and sits down.

Speaking melodically to Leafiara, Urpy asks, "What is all this anyways?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia says, "Yes."

Speaking wryly to Jaysehn, Leafiara says, "Hey, you said it."

Alosaka whispers to the group, "...We were wondering if he brought any actual armies under his command?"

Jaysehn says, "I'm married. I parry enough."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "We did see some, I am told."

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Good question."

Sablo says, "I don't suppose you came to enjoy the bonfire in silence."

Mourdeyan whispers to the group, "Seems to be a ...more than a few soldiers about."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "Not as such."

Speaking to Urpy, Leafiara says, "Good question. I think we're... finding out on the spot."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "I expect many have questions."

Speaking absently to Sablo, Raelee says, "... it would be ideal, yes."

The Bodohal Problem

Sablo says, "I have been told you're an inquisitive bunch. Let's hear it."

Sablo nods.

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "Would you like some introductions. There are members of the council and the Marshal are both present."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "That is something that I'm afraid Wehnimer's Lacks in droves."

Sablo asks, "Do you plan to introduce everyone? or only those with fancy titles?"

Sablo peers quizzically at Guarrin.

Kelfyr whispers to the group, "Did anyone see him leading them though? From the wall I saw an awful lot of individual violence, but I had a narrow vantage point."

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "I will allow them to fire away with questions then."

Sablo nods.

Tikba bluntly asks, "When will we be able to take the fight to Gnul?"

Speaking to Sablo, Kayse inquires, "What are your plans for Gnul? Meeting him soon enough is not a valid course of action for me?"

Sablo says, "Very soon."

Sablo nods at Tikba.

Kayse stares at Sablo.

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Alas those of us working in the Inn did not have the chance to see much of anything other than blood."

Speaking to Sablo, Alosaka says, "And, since he won't introduce himself... this is Sir Guarrin of the Order of the Silver Gryphon."

Sablo begins chuckling at Kayse!

Sablo asks, "No offense little butterfly, but I don't report to you?"

Sablo peers quizzically at Kayse.

Sablo chuckles.

Kayse narrows her eyes.

Speaking to Alosaka, Guarrin says, "I do not think the Commander stands much for ceremony."

(Kayse takes a few measured steps towards Sablo.)

Sablo grins.

Speaking evenly to Sablo, Kayse says, "No, you don't. But the town of Wehnimer's has been answering for the actions of the Empire for a month now."

Alosaka says, "And Lady Kayse here is a town councillor."

Sablo says, "I do not mind ceremony, I understand its value, I won't judge others for it. But I just have so little time for it."

Tikba smoothly asks, "When you say soon, is there something specific we must wait for?"

Speaking steadily to Sablo, Kayse asks, "So I repeat--what are you plans?"

Tikba says, "I am sure you are as eager as we are to destroy him."

Kayse glances meaningfully at Sablo.

Sablo says, "Let's be honest. Wehnimer's Landing exists, and is free, because it is allowed to do so. No, that isn't a veiled threat of conquest. But let's just remember the size of our britches."

Kayse gazes in amusement at Sablo.

Alosaka says, "Yes, let's. On that note, we were all very impressed with how you killed that goblin the other night."

Kelfyr asks, "Are these your words or those of your Barony?"

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "Very well, I will be brief. What are the number of the forces you have brought with you, and what is your strategy on dealing with the multiple fronts we now fight on as there is a warship in the bay in addition to an illoke threat."

Sablo says, "In the coming days, we'll discuss some plans for Gnul, and all of the monsters mind you."

Tikba murmurs, "We all exist because we are allowed to do so."

Sablo says, "I won't pretend to come in here and have all of the answers. I look forward to some of your insight as well."

Irval asks, "And by all, you mean?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Evia says, "A britches measuring contest, who would have guessed."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd asks, "Aside from Gnul, what other monsters did you have in mind?"

Sablo asks, "Warship?"

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "Lets also remember that the person you do work for, Elidal, has friendly relations with us, and I'm certain he would appreciate cooperation between our forces instead of hostility."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd informs, "The Shiver."

Speaking offhandedly to Sablo, Kayse says, "You invited questions and can barely answer them."

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn asks, "Of the Bluewater Brigade?"

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "Yes, the Shiver, allegedly a captain ...well you heard them."

Lylia notes, "I said the same thing about Ta'Vaalor, and people looked at me askance too."

Sablo says, "Oh, I will answer any questions, I just prefer them with more honey and less bristle."

Sablo says, "I don't know the Shiver."

Speaking amusedly to Sablo, Kayse says, "I do not sugarcoat my words, Commander."

Sablo asks, "What is this warship doing? it's a Captain? Not krol?"

Goldstr says, "Evenin friends."

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "He has fired upon fishing vessels of a protectorate."

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Plans for all of the monsters... I wonder what that means exactly."

Irval says, "An imperial Warship thats been moored in the darkstone bay...Captain Bodohal."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "Definitely not krolvin."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "Flies imperial colors."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai says, "Alright, then what are your plans for the various threats facing us. . .please."

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn says, "Captained by Bodohal, who claims to be an Imperial Captain tasked with delivering cavalry forces up and down the coast to raid coastal krolvin."

Sablo asks, "Did he deliver his horses?"

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn says, "He did not."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "Not that we've seen."

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn says, "Nor have we seen them."

Sablo asks, "Then why is he still here?"

Alosaka offhandedly says, "He delivered some cannon shots."

Sablo nods.

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "Good question."

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn says, "To claim a deserter."

Sablo asks, "He fired on your town?"

Irval says, "He did."

Kelfyr says, "On the people of the town."

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn says, "Vessels belonging to the town."

Ulfwine says, "And on some of us, as well."

Vaemyr says, "Just outside of it into the waters of our port."

Guarrin says, "Fishing vessels in the bay."

Alosaka says, "Fired on us. Sent his goons into town to attack folks. Beat and stole from defenders."

Vaemyr says, "And yes on some vessels in the bay."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "And several dozen of his mariners started a brawl in a tavern last eve."

[OOC note about the events being described: The above all happened on the 4th in a log that I won't be able to handle as it spanned enough rooms that I didn't catch all the action and, more importantly, was about four consecutive hours of RP; to put that in perspective, it's about four times as much as the log you're reading now. Basically, the gist is that sailors attacked in Helga's, then there was some kind of cannon attack on or maybe just heard from the docks. Players jumped into the bay in an effort to board the Shiver and got close, but weren't able to board as they took a hail of cannonfire and sailors cut off the way up. Bodohal shouted there would be no communication unless either the Landing brought him Tolmis, a "deserter" from his crew, or Elidal finished "taking over" the area and he could speak with a real leader. Players were persistent and more sailors were sent into the waters to attack them, but eventually they drove them off, then the ship pulled back into deeper waters.]

Tikba mildly says, "We are not satisfied with him."

Irval says, "You see how this might pose concerns to the citizens of landing at large, Optics and all..."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Even killed a few citizens."

Lylia says, "If we were all known by the worst among us, I shudder to think how we might appear to others. However, in this case, the man is clearly troublesome."

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn says, "I've been up and down these coasts with my Fleet. This ship is imperial, I'd wager. Who the man is who that Captain's it is an open question, regardless of his claims."

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "Verification of his standing, at least, would be useful."

Sablo asks, "I understand, the young soon to be Baron has been almost nightly harassed each time he has come about to put quill to parchment and declare to the world your independence, but you're asking me to solve your warship problem who fired on your town?"

Sablo says, "I'll get verification of him."

Sablo nods at Guarrin.

Guarrin nods appreciatively at Sablo.

Sablo says, "I do not know the name, but that means nothing."

Alosaka says, "We're happy to resolve the problem ourselves, once we get the matter of his true allegience settled."

Nairena says, "Maybe it was a false name."

Speaking to Sablo, Jaysehn says, "I will be happy to send my ships after him like a swarm of hornets if he is a pretender."

Sablo says, "Names from the ports don't always travel to Hendor's wilds."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr asks, "We can solve our own problems, we just... well would prefer to not start a war in the process?"

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "I am making you aware that there is a warship of unknown intent and purpose."

Lylia says, "It might be more accurate to say that you have resources we may not when verifying who he is."

Alosaka says, "Britches, and all."

Sablo says, "I'll get you information on him."

Speaking lightly to Lylia, Kayse says, "That would be the more accurate statement said."

Tikba notes, "If it is an imperial warship, we would not be starting the war."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Hmm."

Sablo motions to a young squire who stands partially hidden in the shadows nearby, almost squirming, and biting his nails. The squire runs over.

Sablo says, "Get me information on Captain Bodohol. By tomorrow morning, no later. Or you'll clean steed crap for a week."

Tikba politely corrects, "Bodohal."

Sablo nods to the squire, who nods back several times then runs off.

Sablo says, "That's what I said. Bodohal."

Speaking to Sablo, Irval asks, "You think the lad up to the task?"

Sablo says, "Maybe my Hendoran accent gave it more of an O."

Speaking dryly to Kiyna, Kayse responds, "Charming."

Tikba neutrally says, "As you say."

Jaysehn says, "My interests here are the warship alone. Thank you, Commander. Pleasant evening all."

The voice of Urpy melodically says, "I'm thinking mucking stalls would be the least of worries if this isn't resolved timely."

Speaking to Irval, Alosaka says, "Squires are resourceful types."

Stormyrain murmurs, "If he didn't think the lad was up to it, he wouldn't have tasked him with it."

Speaking to Sablo, Elliathe asks, "Ye are Hendoran, Sir?"

The Gnul Problem

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "With that taken care of, back on the topic of Gnul. I think many of us have been wanting to take the offensive to him for some time. He's had too much time, and has gathered a huge amount of forces. But it can't be easy to wrangle all those different groups."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "Thank you; we look forward to what your squire can discover."

Sablo says, "I am, or was? I suppose Darkstonian now."

Sablo smirks at Elliathe.

Nairena says, "Sounds about right."

Sablo says, "No, it isn't easy to muster the forces he has."

Alosaka whispers to the group, "Darkstonian... doesn't quite roll off the tongue."

Irval says, "Think you're putting the horse before the carriage...But we will endeavor to make it so..."

Sablo says, "It also isn't easy to keep them content, and united."

Sablo says, "I've seen it done before, and it did not last forever."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "There are worse, I wager."

Speaking to Sablo, Elliathe informs, "I can understand that. Raised in Waterford but I am of Icemule Trace now."

Lylia asks, "Darkstonian? Darkstoner? Darkstese?"

Sablo says, "An ogre mountain king, tried the same, near the Spines half a decade ago."

Speaking to Sablo, Tikba muses, "An unstable alliance?"

Kelfyr says, "They have a rather compelling rallying cause."

Mourdeyan whispers to the group, "Indeed."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "Trauntorian?"

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka asks, "Darkstonite?"

Sablo says, "It lasted four months? Maybe five."

Missoni whispers to the group, "It beats Ublite, I should think."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "Ah, Missoni has a point."

Mourdeyan whispers to the group, "Of darkstone."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia asks, "Fascinating. How was he dispatched?"

Sablo says, "We picked off his generals, burned some of their breeding grounds."

Nairena says, "Smart."

Lylia says, "Oh, I should like to speak to you of Glaoveln sometime."

Speaking to Sablo, Ulfwine says, "'I remember this, stories of it at least."

Sablo says, "We eventually turned to slaughtering the wildlife and animals in the ranges."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai says, "So what are your plans for the near future. . .please."

Kelfyr says, "Burned their breeding grounds sounds awful like slaughtering children."

Bristenn remarks, "Chevauchee and indirect warfare. Fine choice against a larger force."

Lylia asks, "We could also speak of the Blameless, but there really are not nearly as many to speak of, now are there?"

Sablo says, "It caused the ogre king to wander further and further for food."

Thrassus says, "Depriving them of food. Smart."

Sablo says, "Into territory we already trapped and prepared to fight upon."

Tikba thoughtfully says, "Yes, no host can long survive attacks on their supply lines and their reinforcements."

Sablo nods at Thrassus.

Sablo nods at Kelfyr.

Dannai quietly asks, "Wiping out wildlife is never smart, what about the good people that depend on it for food?"

Sablo says, "Baby monsters become big monsters."

Sablo nods at Kelfyr.

Speaking to Kelfyr, Irval says, "War is not for the faint of heart. Some dark deeds are done by those who serve so others can pick turnips in peace."

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Killing off one species can destroy an entire natural system of balance."

Sablo says, "Don't pretend to weep over a dead goblin upon the teet of its goblin mother."

Sablo nods at Kelfyr.

Ulfwine says, "There were not many 'people' left in that place."

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna asks, "Could we not accomplish the same by cutting off the head? Without all this run-around?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Seems some would have us attack wit wooden weapons, and point fingers, and argue em t'death."

Tikba says, "If they wish for peace, they need only do nothing."

Sablo says, "It's possible. I've been looking at the maps Elidal has sent me while we traveled." [I think this is a response to Kiyna, but I'm not confident enough in it to bold her question.]

Thrassus says, "There is always another to replace them in that method."

Speaking quietly to Ulfwine, Dannai says, "And there won't be, even after the conflict, because there will be nothing left."

Sablo says, "I know they pulled a ruse, and tried to pull you away to fake wagons."

Sablo says, "I appreciate your assistance."

Lylia says, "And all the more saddening as we should surely seek to find common cause, not reason for quarrels, when Gnul is flinging pebbles our way."

Speaking to Sablo, Goldstr asks, "Has ye established permanent bounderues of the new Barony? I ask as our friends, the Reivers, be much concerned?"

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "Those in them paid for the ruse."

Sablo says, "You fought hard and well and it allowed my soldiers and caravans to arrive, unscathed for the most part."

Sablo says, "There's been some official borders, yes."

Sablo nods at Goldstr.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Mighty large pebbles when ye get one dropped on ye."

Speaking to Dannai, Ulfwine says, ""The Ogres and their allies had destroyed everyone, or most everyone; not uncommon along the Spine."

Speaking mildly to Sablo, Tikba agrees, "Yes."

Goldstr nods at Sablo.

Sablo says, "We'll be leveraging some of our pylons. We'll blast those mountains as much as we need to."

Sablo says, "I heard he's employing griffins. The ogre king did something similar once."

Speaking to Pookia, Nairena says, "You cute trickster."

Sablo says, "I also know, from your history, the mad cursed troll Drangell did the same. When he laid siege to your own a decade ago."

Elliathe whispers to the group, "What exactly are these pylons in question? I fear I do not understand the reference?"

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai asks, "What are your plans for the near future?"

Sablo says, "We'll find the griffins. There's nests somewhere."

Sablo says, "Always nests."

Alosaka whispers to the group, "A sort of arcane cannon situated at various points in the town."

Vaemyr says, "I wondered if it would be possible to infiltrade where their roosting the Griffins they are keeping, if riled up they could cause significant harm to his own forces."

Irval whispers to the group, "We could use a few more."

Citan deeply says, "Well... most likely the Kragg's."

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Ah, thank ye for the context, tis appreciated."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "They retire to the southeast. Perhaps to Thanatoph itself, so it seemed."

Sablo says, "Gnul has, for lack of better word, united the Tophs."

Sablo smirks.

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "We had originally entrapped Drangell, but...well, some creatures can slip a noose no matter how closely it is drawn."

Citan deeply says, "Or even perhaps along the spine."

Alosaka whispers to the group, "There's one on the wagon outside the Moot Hall, I believe."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "And more on Amos' warships."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "And is self proclaimed king."

Tikba agrees, "Our enemies have homes too, that can be sieged."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "One by the north docks, I believe."

Speaking to Nairena, Kayse observes, "Strong...milk, huh?"

Sablo says, "In the coming week, we'll need several scouting parties."

Citan deeply asks, "Well... don't they like rocky outcroppings?"

Nairena says, "From pookia's office."

Kayse sighs, "Weeks."

Sablo says, "Griffins guarding their nests will be damn near impossible to defeat, and costly if we do."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai asks, "These scouting parties will be from your forces?"

Citan deeply says, "I mean.. easy picking to drop there prey off easily and picked through the smashed body at the bottom."

Sablo says, "No, yours. Perhaps some of ours."

Irval asks, "No way to burn em out from afar?"

Kiyna mutters, "This is the insight we've been waiting on to arrive?"

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Again, they wish us to do *thier* work for them."

Sablo says, "The forces I brought with me, volunteers primarily, are still training. There might be a few good scouts among them."

Sablo says, "I've got more soldiers, scouts, sappers and archers coming up from the South."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai says, "I think I already knew the answer to that. . ."

Sablo says, "They won't be here until at least the new year."

Sablo says, "Winter has set in."

Lylia suggests, "Some in the east are used to dealing with flights of them during their annual nesting season."

Tikba agrees, "The snows have been heavy."

Kelfyr says, "But no concerns at sending underguarded civilians through these snows to settle here."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Insight an unity is never bad, and until we get it, we're fightin the folks that scourge in a scattershot manner."

Xorus says, "Poison the meat the griffins feed upon, and they will feed it to their young. It is useful against those who cannibalize their dead as well."

Sablo says, "If we want to really leave a dent in Thanatoph, we may even need to build addtional pylons."

Sablo gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

Irval says, "Agreed."

Speaking quietly to Xorus, Mourdeyan says, "We'd have t'poison ourselves b'fore battle."

Speaking to Mourdeyan, Lylia says, "Now there is a thought."

Kiyna admits, "Well, I do like pylons."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "I'm more than willing to help scout if it will help end Gnul's attacks."

Speaking bluntly to Sablo, Stormyrain asks, "How do you see the militia, the Gryphons, and your forces working together?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Kayse corrects, "He has no forces it seems."

Stormyrain says, "He has some, and more coming."

Sablo says, "Coordination and communication is absolutely required."

Speaking to Kayse, Alosaka says, "That is not precisely what he said."

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

Pookia says, "Not for a month.."

Stormyrain nods slowly.

Speaking to Alosaka, Kayse says, "I know what he said."

Sablo says, "I have some forces, they are not as trained as half of you."

Geijon says, "It doesn't change we need to solve th' problem with urgency regarding these attacks."

Speaking to Kayse, Nairena says, "Most are raw or untested. it looks like we will be doing most of the leg work."

Speaking to Sablo, Stormyrain says, "I look forward to more of that, communication, before plans are laid out."

Kelfyr says, "Surely with your exemplary leadership, they'll rise to the task."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai asks, "Why don't you give us the ability to create our own pylons here, in the Landing?"

Alosaka says, "The Landing welcomes all who would defend its walls, regardless of their relative expertise."

Kayse reasons, "I would argue that some that fight amongst our town are raw and untested too, but they haven't had much of a choice as of late to not fight."

Speaking to Sablo, Stormyrain adds, "And if it would benefit some of your newer recruits, the militia is happy to run coordinated drills with your forces."

Sablo says, "The settlers and Landing have been reactive to Gnul, we'll need to formulate several strategies to fix that, and push on Gnul, and keep him reactive."

Sablo says, "They'll plan a large attack soon."

Sablo says, "Likely within days, if not by week's end."

Sablo says, "He can't hold them together for long without it."

Speaking to Dannai, Raelee says, "That is not his to grant."

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "Hence the sharpening."

Speaking quietly to Raelee, Dannai says, "Then maybe it's needs to be asked of whom it IS to grant."

Sablo says, "I would welcome some of that."

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "Some in the camp here have expressed interest in chivalric training as well."

Sablo says, "Even if your town looks favorbly on orcs..."

Dannai quietly says, "Makes me nervous all this fire power belongin to the Empire alone."

Stormyrain clenches her jaw.

Alosaka notes, "We generally don't."

Stormyrain can offer Sablo only a blank expression.

Mourdeyan quietly asks, "Wha firepower?"

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "There is one, we do though."

Speaking to Mourdeyan, Evia says, "Pylons I guess."

Speaking quietly to Mourdeyan, Dannai asks, "The pylons. Why can we not create our own?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Tha fire power is all of us, coordinated and communicatin, not questionin ever declaration an order."

Stormyrain offers, "Thrayzar would be an excellent trainer for your recruits, as well. I know, he helped train many of our militia now."

Stormyrain twists her head slightly, cracking her neck. She looks relieved.

Sablo says, "We'll pass on that."

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

'Stormyrain adds, "And he was not always an orc. He was once a man."

Stormyrain shrugs at Sablo.

Stormyrain says, "Your loss."

Stormyrain folds her arms over her chest.

Speaking neutrally to Sablo, Bristenn asks, "In the immediate sense however, you have need of more armsmen?"

Speaking to Dannai, Geijon says, "I remember Pylasar, I believe, explained it on how Pylons are created."

Sablo says, "No offense. I don't need my soldiers having...well, perception matters."

Stormyrain chuckles to herself.

Sablo says, "I don't want them trained by an orc one day, and hunting orcs the next day. It's important to keep them conditioned in a way."

Sablo says, "No, I won't kill him."

Stormyrain amusedly says, "This is the Landing. Good luck with attempting to keep such clean lines."

Speaking to herself, Stormyrain murmurs, "And closed minds."

Sablo says, "Elidal warned me you had an orc, and a mountain boy, and made me promise on the orc at least."

Sablo chuckles.

Speaking to Sablo, Kayse counters, "How is that different than hunting down humans that fight against you?"

Kelfyr asks, "Not the boy though?"

Pookia says, "Sounds like they're pretty simple if an enemy orc and a non enemy orc is too confusin."

Sablo says, "He also mentioned a Gutstorm, but he was fair game."

Tikba mildly says, "Yes, there is no end to our variety."

Speaking to Pookia, Alosaka offers, "It's likely many of them have never seen an orc beefore."

Dannai quietly says, "The boy is off limits. Period."

Guarrin says, "While he is tiresome, he is not."

Speaking to Alosaka, Pookia says, "Education AND training! a double whammy."

Lylia says, "Gutstorm, I like. That bear, perhaps not so much."

Lylia adds, "Never tell him I said that."

Vaemyr says, "So, just a pondering thought, if we can't win a fight against the Griffin nests directly, anyway we could enlist maybe Enisius's aid to make it look like they are attacked by some of Gnuls forces? Assuming the scouts can locate the nests? Was thinking that might cause them to relatiate or at least more difficult to control."

Pukk says, "So, tell him."

Pukk says, "Tell him you like that bear."

Lylia gives Pukk a little prod between the shoulder blades.

Sablo says, "We'll be building some towers soon too, to help add some defense to the settlement."

Lylia says, "Good news."

Speaking to Pookia, Alosaka observes, "These recruits likely come from deep within the empire, from rural families and communities. They have not seen much of the world but they are filled with grand dreams, hopes and ideals. They are much like I was, I imagine. I hope we can find a place for them to help."

Speaking to Sablo, Geijon asks, "Portable or stationary?"

Sablo says, "We can attack the nests, if we find them."

Sablo says, "But we'll need to pull the griffins away."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "Or like Camryth."

Citan deeply says, "Well... frontier life seems to be much more of a rude awakening than imperial life..... We don't time to guess who swinging the sword against us... We've battled back foes for the ast 25 years plus....."

Nairena whispers to the group, "And so it begins. Settlement growth."

Citan deeply says, "And somehow able to keep Landing standing for the most part."

Sablo says, "Stationary, for now."

Sablo nods at Geijon.

Speaking to Alosaka, Pookia says, "So they're less simple than they're gettin credit for."

Lylia says, "And as for the griffins, I shall again suggest that some of our Eastern friends know the species well, including their nesting habits; perhaps their insights are valuable too."

Geijon nods.

Tikba observes, "It would seem our next concern is the attack you suggest is coming this week."

Sablo says, "The settlement is not our permanent home."

Tikba says, "Before your defenses will be prepared, or your troops here."

Sablo nods at Lylia.

Speaking dryly to Pookia, Alosaka says, "I sympathize."

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "We have seen some methods effective for drawing some griffins out of late. Boar seems to work well." [Reference to a Thanksgiving invasion in Solhaven in which griffins were drawn to the area by an especially gigantic boar.]

Speaking to Guarrin, Perigourd says, "And rolton."

Citan deeply says, "Urghs are plentiful too."

Ulfwine says, "Urghs are a good thought as well, lots of meat on 'em."

Tikba muses, "Perhaps we could poison the rolton."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "Or stuff the carcasses with iron shot. It weighs them down when they try to fly off."

Citan deeply says, "The urghs pack the trails up and down the Spine..."

Goldstr exclaims, "Ye poison rolrons an we die a Helga's stew!"

Citan deeply says, "Heck even the Cyclops cattle them in the No Mans land in Vornavis."

Sablo inclines his ear, listening intently.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Or praps whatever game they faver besides citizenry."

Sablo twists slightly, cracking his spine. He looks much better.

Kiyna exclaims, "Scandal! Tikba suggests poisoning Gryphons!"

Kelfyr asks, "Not to drag the conversation away from the plans to nullify Gnul, but to clarify, you were ordered only to leave the orc be? Not the boy on the Reach?"

Bristenn sighs, "Why not simply attack the nests with small raiding bands, next this Gnul sends out his forces?"

Alosaka says, "It would be satisfying to deliver a powerful defeat to Gnul's forces during his next attack. It would be a, ah, a turnabout from his recent attacks."

Bristenn adds, "Then lie in wait to ambush the returning griffins when Gnul's forces retreat?"

Speaking to Bristenn, Guarrin says, "That idea has merit."

Geijon says, "These are big birds."

Dannai quietly exclaims, "The boy is off limits!"

Sablo says, "The nests, once discovered, are best attacked when not guarded."

Speaking firmly to Dannai, Kayse assures, "No one will touch Rodnay."

Sablo nods at Kelfyr.

Kelfyr says, "It is one thing to believe that, and another for him to agree to that."

Citan deeply says, "Meaning... someone has to be bait."

Speaking quietly to Kayse, Dannai says, "Not so sure about that."

Speaking to Sablo, Geijon asks, "You seem to like a battle, so I'd expect you'd be coming with us?"

Speaking steadily to Dannai, Kayse says, "I am, because I will not let it happen."

Sablo says, "I made no promises on the mountain boy. I haven't given him much thought, to be honest."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Tikba murmurs, "Perhaps it is a question of what is allowed."

Sablo says, "My focus is in Gnul, and the mountain alliance."

Speaking to Sablo, Kayse says, "He is not your concern."

Kayse adds, "Rodnay."

Speaking quietly to Kayse, Dannai says, "I'm with you then M'lady Councillor."

Tikba says, "That is our focus too."

Sablo says, "We cannot begin the work against Darkstone, until we settle this issue with Gnul."

Sablo says, "Butterfly, please, don't tell me what is and is not my concern."

Sablo nods at Kayse.

Speaking annoyedly to Sablo, Kayse corrects, "The name is Kayse."

Sablo says, "Any potential threat in this region is my concern."

Speaking to Sablo, Chandrellia says, "Sounds like the easiest way to settle Gnul is for you all to just go back home."

Sablo says, "If mountain boy is not a threat, then you are in fact correct."

Speaking calmly to Sablo, Kayse warns, "Do not call me butterfly again."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Im in line wif takin the fight to Gnul, I grow weary of dyin by his hand and foolishness."

Alosaka says, "Town Councillor Kayse merely wishes to emphasize the special concern we have for Rodnay, and wishes you to understand it concisely."

Perigourd says, "I wouldn't expect that Gnul's alliance was an idea sparked strictly by the empire coming. preperations as he's made take time."

Kelfyr says, "I'd argue the signs make very clear what drew the ire of his people."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai says, "M'lady Councillor is informing you that where some are concerned, it is Not yours."

Speaking to Perigourd, Nairena says, "That is true."

Sablo says, "You'd be surprised how quickly monsters can find common cause and mobilize. Their true test, comes in keeping that unity. It doesn't last."

Sablo nods at Perigourd.

Speaking to Sablo, Chandrellia asks, "Mountain boy? his name is Rodney, perhaps if you are going to waste your time around here, you may as well learn the history of Landing and what surrounds it, or is it you can lead but not read?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "And numerous threats again the empire and ever settler."

Goldstr says, "Illoke's mother, Meyno, has a Shrine in da Tanatoph."

Evia says, "It isn't Rodney, in fact."

Alosaka whispers to the group, ""Daddy, how did the Great Imperial-Landing War start, again?"."

Speaking to Evia, Chandrellia says, "Oh then please correct me on the spelling."

Sablo slowly empties his lungs.

Mourdeyan whispers to the group, "Snicker."

Goldstr asks, "Anyway we kin use dat to keep da Illoke from helpin Gnul?"

Stormyrain says, "The true test is, indeed, in unity. Among all sorts of monsters."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Evia says, "Pronounciation...it is Rod-nay, Rodnay."

Speaking to Evia, Chandrellia says, "Thats what I said."

Sablo says, "They can be broken."

Speaking to Goldstr, Kiyna asks, "You suggest... what? Destroying Meyno's temple?"

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

Irval whispers to the group, "Mimicks a fatherly tone, "Butterflies my child. butterflies..."

Guarrin asks, "I would rather not wait on the inevitable decay of Gnul's alliance. Griffins are a start. What of the other factions?"

Citan whispers to the group, "It was hard times Alosa.. .It was cheesecakes and porkchops as far as the eye could see."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Alosaka says, "Sometimes, I like to imagine Gnul has meetings like this."

Speaking to Alosaka, Stormyrain says, "I am sure he does, and we are his monsters."

Sablo says, "We can sow confusion, betrayal, starve them, target them."

Mourdeyan whispers to the group, "Well this inept woul be king snuck in while we was all bickerin over how to take em out and slaughtered us in a group."

Speaking to Sablo, Stormyrain says, "Which was my point."

Sablo says, "It is not difficult to outsmart them."

Vaemyr whispers something to Sablo.

[General] Ranpalandil asks, "Help how do I join the kraken falls guild?"

Evia says, "Goblins, griffins, giants..."

Geijon whispers to the group, "I'm alive or dead in this story?"

Sablo says, "Their true challenge comes from their stupidity. They are endless, they are fearless at times."

Sablo says, "But there is no greater pleasure in dropping them."

Sablo says, "Save for the Blameless."

Speaking to Sablo, Alosaka asks, "He added the monsters of the Glatoph to his army this week. Frost Giants and Arctic Titans. Can we assault them, punish them for aiding him, try and strip them away?"

Sablo says, "They are equally as rewarding."

Irval says, "Their bones break so sweetly..."

Kelfyr says, "Sure, no glory in that."

Sablo nods.

Speaking to Sablo, Ulfwine says, ""There is something different about this one. We don't even know what he is, or IF he is, if you take my meaning."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Kinda like we do in town ever time a few of us get t'gether."

Sablo nods at Alosaka.

Sablo peers quizzically at Ulfwine.

Sablo asks, "Which one?"

Kelfyr asks, "Though when the blood gets going, who can easily separate the wheat from the chaff?"

Ulfwine says, "Gnul."

Speaking to Alosaka, Chandrellia says, "Yes lets just wipe everything out because they are trying to defend what has been theirs for centuries...."

Ulfwine says, "All anyone has seen is a shape, a figure."

[General] Notnil asks, "What is the Kraken Falls Guild?"

Ulfwine shrugs.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Alosaka says, "In an odd coincidence, the Landing has been here for centuries."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Geijon says, "Gnul is attacking the Landing, us."

Speaking to Alosaka, Chandrellia says, "Exactly and we defend it."

Sablo nods at Geijon.

[General] Eand asks, "Rum Drinkers?"

Ulfwine asks, "An illusion? A puppet?"

Speaking to Geijon, Chandrellia says, "Only becasue the Imperialists are here."

Speaking to Ulfwine, Kiyna suggests, "Or a coward."

[General] Ranpalandil thinks, "The Open Seas Adventure roles."

Geijon says, "I don't rely on guesswork when things are trying to kill me."

[General] Eand thinks, "Sooo Rum Drinkers...."

Tikba asks, "Your plan is a good one. But it does not help us in two days, when you say they will strike again. Shall we expect you on the battlefield then?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Ulfwine says, ""That too, could be true. We just don't know."

Chandrellia says, "We didnt have this issue to this magnitude till the Imperial showed up."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Alosaka asks, "Are you suggesting Gnul would pack up his armies and go home if these settlers and refugees left?"

Guarrin muses, "I would not imagine this is a scenario where we, or the camp here, has time for siege tactics."

[General] Ranpalandil thinks, "Yes, it seems so."

Sablo nods at Tikba.

Tikba nods once at Sablo.

Vaemyr says, "Because of the wide variety of forces, there are many methods, like was mentioned before, cutting off food supplies and raiding seperate encampments. They may be united when they are attacking, but I highly doubt the storm giants, frost giants, and stone giants, and minotaurs all decided to go stay together in the same area for very long."

[General] Notnil thinks, "Oh I see, I asked because my anamalistic armor is a Krakenm."

Speaking to Alosaka, Chandrellia says, "Oh I think it would bve a pretty good guess, since all his threats were against them."

Thrassus says, "As has been pointed out many times before, they have attacked us all that time. Well before the declaration of the new barony."

Speaking quietly to Tikba, Dannai says, "Doubtful, verrry doubtful."

Lylia says, "Gnul, having had a taste of power and a unifying enemy, is not likely to abandon that even if this camp were burned and the people within it scattered to the seven winds."

Speaking to Thrassus, Chandrellia says, "Actually, as I said, not to this magnituide."

Thrassus asks, "Are you sure about that?"

Two young children chase each other in a nearby field, throwing canvas-wrapped balls as they run, trying to strike each other before disappearing further into the campsite. [Ambient message.]

Speaking to Lylia, Tikba agrees, "Success breeds success, and failure breeds failure."

Citan deeply says, "Little late for kids to be running..."

Sablo says, "There is nothing new. There is a short term alliance, since the monsters have found a valid reason to unite, pillage, kill, destroy. It will not last. On its own, it will crumble. But our efforts will see that happen sooner."

Speaking to Tikba, Lylia says, "Just so."

Citan deeply says, "I guess we run urchins in town too."

Alosaka says, "Well, then. Find and destroy these griffin nests. Turn the Glatoph into a steaming ruin."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Tha sooner it crumbles or weakens tha sooner they'll be at one another I wager."

The History Problem

Pukk asks, "So, what I'm hearing is Landing keeps getting hit by boulders and griffins and whatnot instead of this settlement. Then the answer is easy. We have a few rangers that will cast a flare and let Gnul know where to aim and we are clear. Right?"

Sablo nods at Mourdeyan.

Kelfyr says, "Tear down a mountain so the Baron can rule the rubble."

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna says, "I imagine it's too much to hope that we could simply find and kill Gnul and be done with it? The loss of their leader will tear such a large, disparate force apart."

Irval says, "Their reason is more along the lines of "Death to the empire" ...Gnull fancies himself a King."

Speaking to Pukk, Chandrellia says, "Good idea."

Pukk says, "Of course."

Sablo glances at Pukk.

Sablo glances at Chandrellia.

Evia says, "Run and hide little children, some want your blood."

Sablo asks, "Weren't you two councilors?"

Sablo peers quizzically at Pukk.

Sablo peers quizzically at Chandrellia.

Tikba amusedly says, "Ah, I see you know the titles."

Speaking helpfully to Sablo, Pukk says, "We can also paint a big target sign and that should help too."

Sablo asks, "But you so openly spit venom on the Empire, and her settlers, innocent people here just trying to forge a new life? You jest about signaling to Gnul to fire down upon them?"

Sablo says, "Maybe you should leave the camp."

Sablo says, "If you can't bite your tongue."

Alosaka says, "I think Pukk was being sarcastic."

Sablo says, "I don't think he was."

Speaking to Sablo, Chandrellia says, "Ya know, a smarter Baron to be, would have men and soldiers here not childeren and women."

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner says, "The empire has no standing of innocence where the Landing is concerned."

Thrassus says, "It must also be said that Gnul himself indicated that conquest is his goal. 'Everything up to the borders and beyond are ours.' was his words."

Speaking to Sablo, Pukk says, "Huh. You do know me."

Pukk grins.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Sometimes, it isn't useful."

Speaking quietly to Alosaka, Dannai says, "Pukk is Always sarcastic."

Alosaka says, "Perhaps I just hoped he was being sarcastic."

Sablo says, "The goal, Kiyna, is to end Gnul, yes."

Sablo nods at Kiyna.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "But it doesna mean it's excusable."

Speaking to Dannai, Pukk says, "But that doesn't make Sablo wrong...even if his small mind can't figure to call those of other races their names instead of the things he does."

Speaking quietly to Mourdeyan, Dannai says, "He's never that."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Aye, I can see."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "We canna worry about correctness, an titles, while at war, you're lucky to get a "you there!"."

Speaking to herself, Chandrellia says, "So lets see, its the Landings duty to wipe the nose of this future baron at the same time defend Landing from Gnul, and now Bodohal... talk about a full plate."

Sablo squints.

Citan deeply exclaims, "Like mine!"

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna says, "I don't remember telling you my name."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Nairena says, "Never a dull moment."

Sablo grins at Kiyna.

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner says, "Was not that long ago Talador invaded the Landing. Hundreds of the Landing's innocents were killed. You have no standing of innocence. And you are not going to be welcome here."

Sablo says, "Some people need no introduction."

Sablo nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Nairena, Chandrellia says, "And now people know why I'm glad I didnt run again."

Thrassus says, "There's no windows to be tossed out of here I might point out."

Speaking quietly to Chandrellia, Dannai says, "Funny considering we're supposedly the weak, backwater."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "So on another topic, how do you lik it up here, curious what might of made you want to come to the Barony of Darkstone. I'm interested to know more about you."

Sablo says, "You realize, you wandered into this encampment, you were not dragged here."

Sablo nods at Wolfloner.

Speaking to Kiyna, Tikba says, "Nor did we mention that Pukk was a councilor. But I am sure the Commander knows how to read a scouting report."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "And praps Gnul is laughin while we bicker over such."

Lylia admits, "It is an incredibly difficult task that our new Town Council faces, as well as our citizenry."

Lylia asks, "Talador, you say?"

Speaking to Mourdeyan, Perigourd says, "Most certainly."

Speaking to Tikba, Chandrellia says, "Or he looked at the notes on whats his names hands."

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner says, "It's more an encroachment than encampment. I do not need your welcome to come here."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "Commander, do you have a nickname? Many military personnel do."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Pukk says, "You said it better than I could."

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner says, "You are the one who was not invited here."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Take note Gnul of the cracks in this alliance."

Sablo says, "Some have called me Monster."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "I believe it was...'The Monster?' That is the one I have heard."

Lylia nods at Sablo.

Speaking to Sablo, Pukk exclaims, "Yeah, what he said!"

Sablo says, "I am not that, I assure you."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia asks, "And you got that moniker from...?"

Sablo says, "But I show no mercy in fighting them. Ever."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia asks, "From dealing with the Blameless, am I correct?"

Lylia raises an eyebrow in Sablo's direction.

Sablo says, "Before then."

Speaking to Lylia, Ulfwine says, ""Oh much more than that."

Sablo says, "I am sure I re-earned it with the Blameless."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "I see. The same enemy we fought tirelessly."

Speaking to Sablo, Pukk says, "I think we may have started off on the wrong foot."

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner asks, "You speak of the Blameless of your empire, that spawned within your empire?"

Speaking to Pukk, Chandrellia asks, "Why were you standing on your left?"

Sablo says, "Well, when both are in your mouth, it is not surprising."

Sablo nods at Pukk.

Lylia says, "We have this much in common, then."

Speaking to Sablo, Nairena says, "You look a touch young to be a seasoned leader. Not to disclaim your heroic deeds."

Speaking to Sablo, Pukk says, "No, I was thinking that both should be up your arse."

Pukk nods.

(Lylia turns her gaze on others in the crowd.)

Lylia asks, "Are we less than the orcs and trolls, then?"

Sablo says, "Leaders are not born."

Sablo nods at Nairena.

Lylia asks, "That we cannot even make common cause against an enemy while they can?"

Mourdeyan whispers to the group, "Bad form that."

Speaking to Lylia, Guarrin says, "It seems so."

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna says, "The Empire tends to disagree with that notion."

Sablo begins chuckling at Kiyna!

Sablo says, "Foolishly, yes."

Nairena whispers to the group, "What? He looks like a young human, yet he talks like he has seen many battles."

Sablo nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner says, "The venom expressed toward you empire is well earned. Again, you have no standing of innocense."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Dannai says, "Common cause demands common respect, and the Landin is receiving none of that."

Ulfwine whispers to the group, ""He was a part of Mensyl's Marauders, they are legendary in Hendor for their wards on the Spine."

Lylia asserts, "While we stand here and quarrel about whose piece of ground is whose, the very soil itself is roiled and furrowed in anger. We all shall have nowhere to stand without some fighting -- not of one another but of the common enemy."

Speaking to Sablo, Alosaka apologizes, "There is, shall we say, an undercurrent of distaste toward the Empire."

Speaking to Dannai, Chandrellia says, "I disagree, common casue should, earn, common respect, respect is earned and not forced."

Sablo shrugs at Alosaka.

Speaking quietly to Chandrellia, Dannai asks, "And have we not?"

Sablo says, "I don't care about people's little feelings."

Kelfyr says, "A commendable trait in a leader."

Speaking to Dannai, Chandrellia says, "I didnt say we, hence why some of us have no respect for the Empire, at this time."

Tikba lightly says, "Some of the feelings are fairly big."

Citan deeply says, "Well... Landing always seems to be in someones eye eh....."

Sablo says, "We have work to do."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai says, "You might outta, little feelins turn into big deeds at times."

Speaking quietly to Chandrellia, Lylia asks, "Indeed, I agree -- respect is earned. May we not have a chance, then, to earn it and to grant it?"

Speaking to Lylia, Wolfloner asks, "Our enemy is all too well known. Name a threat in recent memory not tied to that empire?"

Speaking to Sablo, Alosaka says, "Permit me an observation: Feelings are how things are run around here."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Lylia says, "The krolvin, for one."

Sablo says, "No, not here."

Sablo says, "Over there."

Speaking quietly to Chandrellia, Dannai says, "I was just talkin about the Landin not receiving any. . .not the other way around."

Sablo points towards Wehnimer's Landing.

Sablo says, "Not here."

Alosaka chuckles.

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "And they should, do what they can to earn it, you never get a second chance to make a first impression."

Speaking to Alosaka, Pukk asks, "Didn't you murder somebody because of your feelings?"

Speaking to Sablo, Alosaka says, "Fair enough."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Speak for yourself, if you would."

Lylia says, "We had to go take the fight to Glaoveln. And we had the assistance of more than a few Imperial allies in that."

Speaking to Alosaka, Thrassus says, "I thought it was belligerence."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "The landin is the citizens, and so many don't even respect one another, or themselves... to unite under a common banner is....it brings greater challenge than fightin the rocks and feathers or all the enemies it seems."

Sablo says, "We are at war, with the monsters of the mountains."

Sablo says, "I don't care about the weeping worms."

Speaking to Pukk, Alosaka says, "We will have to agree to disagree about Vlashandra."

Nairena says, "A man of focus and duty."

Pukk says, "You still did though."

Tikba mildly says, "Perhaps those who disapprove of how things are run in the Landing may remain here and enjoy the better governance."

Sablo nods at Tikba.

Speaking to Lylia, Wolfloner says, "Even the Krolvin were a better ally against Talador than this lot. Did not not sink the Estonian Fleet as it headed to join the invasion of the Landing with Talador. Try again."

Sablo says, "I am sure as the Barony of Darkstone grows, it will welcome any and all from Wehnimer's Landing who wish to call it home."

Mourdeyan quietly asks, "Then why are ye still here?"

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai asks, "Who says your feelins are so much more important?"

Speaking to Wolfloner, Perigourd asks, "The same Krolvin who came back to burn the place down?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Yegads."

Sablo says, "I never said mine were."

Sablo nods at Dannai.

Sablo says, "I said I was here to win a war, and settle this land."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Huzzah."

Wolfloner says, "Unwitting ally though the Krolvin were in destroying the Estonian fleet. Was more help than we received from the Empire in that war."

Sablo says, "Elidal can win the hearts."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Lylia says, "No, I do not care to have this debate with you right now, with respect. There is nothing productive that can come of it here and now."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai says, "Actually you did, if ours are so 'little' then yours much be so much more."

Pookia says, "So.. how do we FEEL about killin gnul and the tophs."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "And again."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "And likewise, the Landing will welcome those whom enjoy a bit more freedom, and voice to call home too."

Sablo begins chuckling at Dannai!

Sablo says, "No, that's not how that works."

Alosaka says, "I will take victory as a given. But you would be doing Elidal a favor if you remember that this settlement will be dependent on the Landing for trade and its port for a long while."

Speaking to Pookia, Tikba says, "That we should."

Speaking to Sablo, Chandrellia says, "Hhhmmm I am here to win a war and settle this land, yet, you cant do it without us, so instead of I try we..."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Lylia says, "But perhaps another time, over cheese and apples."

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia says, "Point made about earning it."

Speaking quietly to Sablo, Dannai says, "Truly? You need to explain that math some time."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Mourdeyan says, "Or crumpets an tea."

Speaking to Sablo, Tikba asks, "I fear I am not a scout. For those who are, and wish to help search for the nests, how may they contribute?"

Pukk whispers something to Wolfloner.

Lylia says, "Always a valid choice."

Sablo says, "I'll request for scouts in the coming week."

Sablo nods at Tikba.

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner says, "Spies you mean."

Sablo says, "Scouts, to track Gnul's griffins nests."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Alosaka asks, "Yes, spying on the... mountains?"

Stormyrain says, "Puptilian will make a good scout, and we have a few others in the militia that I can think of that would serve well in that capacity."

Speaking to Alosaka, Wolfloner says, "A leopard does not change their spots."

Pukk says, "Here, let's make sure they know where to aim."

Speaking to Alosaka, Wolfloner says, "Believe what you will."

Pukk slings a dark ipantor longbow bound by a blackened pewter rook off from over his shoulder.

Pukk nocks his white-banded arrow, aims skyward, and with a quick draw, releases his white-banded arrow into the air. Streaking upward, a sapphire blue white-banded arrow ignites and creates a wake of white-hot sparks as it climbs into the air. Reaching the apex of its journey, the arrow explodes in a shower of sapphire blue that blossoms to fill the sky and the percussion of which sends a subtle tremor through the earth. Only a moment later, a secondary blast erupts, and a howling wolf is projected into the heavens in an array of snow white incandescence. The image hangs in the sky for several moments before dissipating in a glittering, multi-hued cascade of light.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Tikba says, "We are fortunate for your leadership, Marshal."

Pukk slings a dark ipantor longbow bound by a blackened pewter rook over his shoulder.

Pukk says, "Making sure they know not to hit landing."

Closing Questions

Sablo asks, "Are there additional questions or concerns?"

Speaking to Sablo, Chandrellia says, "Actualy yes, a fairly serious one."

Sablo says, "While I enjoy a good fire, I've maps to finish studying."

A bright-eyed young human settler just arrived.

Alosaka mournfully says, "I am filled with concerns."

Speaking to a bright-eyed young human settler, Ulfwine says, ""Hello Victor."

Speaking to Sablo, Chandrellia asks, "What can you tell us about Bodohal, what is his game?"

Speaking to Sablo, Irval says, "Nice meeting you, maybe one day we can just sit and enjoy the fire."

Sablo nods at Irval.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Kiyna says, "We already had that discussion."

Sablo says, "When the last monster is dead."

Speaking to Kiyna, Chandrellia says, "Oh."

Sablo nods at Irval.

Speaking to Sablo, Geijon says, "If you know about Drangell and his original form of war, you must know a bit about how we fight."

Speaking neutrally to Sablo, Bristenn mentions, "I can, at the least, bring this plight before my liegelord and see what aid Vornavis might be able to offer."

Speaking to Kiyna, Chandrellia says, "I'll just get with someone then."

Pukk says, "Looks like he has been mining."

Sablo shrugs at Chandrellia.

Speaking to Sablo, Stormyrain says, "Should you care for a walk through the wilds, or the town, just send word. I would be happy to show you around a bit."

Speaking to Sablo, Irval says, "And their bones ground to dust."

Speaking to Sablo, Nairena says, "Enjoy our stay. I look forward to seeing you on the battle field."

Sablo says, "I do not know the Captain. I've requested one of our squires to bring me what we do know."

Sablo nods at Chandrellia.

Sablo says, "I will pass it along as soon as I get it."

A bright-eyed young human settler exclaims, "I want to be a knight when I grow up!"

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

Sablo says, "Thank you."

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Bristenn, Guarrin says, "I have not yet written him about the most recent events."

Stormyrain places a hand over her heart.

Stormyrain bows to Sablo.

Speaking to a bright-eyed young human settler, Nairena says, "Im sure you will be a great one."

Sablo bows to Nairena.

Stormyrain says, "Just ask for Stormy in town. Someone will know where to find me."

Sablo nods at Geijon.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Fair eve to you sir."

Speaking to a bright-eyed young human settler, Ulfwine asks, ""so you said. How goes the training? Or have you not yet begun?"

Sablo says, "I do, yes Sir Geijon."

Geijon nods at Sablo.

Sablo nods at Stormyrain.

Sablo stands up.

A bright-eyed young human settler exclaims, "I'm going to find the blacksmith and see if he can make this into a sword for me, so I can train!"

[General] Lokhem asks, "Kavelath you awake?"

Dannai quietly says, "Well, I've heard about enough of nothin."

A bright-eyed young human settler just went west.

Sablo asks, "Did my responses so far, on Gnul, suffice, bu...Councilor Kayse?"

Sablo peers quizzically at Kayse.

Chandrellia says, "Being a knight is brave, and loyal. You being here under these circumstances, already makes you a knight. Dont let anyone ever tell you differently."

Ulfwine says, "He's an earnest young fellow."

Tikba murmurs, "Copper is not a good choice."

Tikba says, "We must bring him some iron."

Alosaka says, "I hope he doesn't get a real sword, though."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Minds me of someone."

Speaking measuredly to Sablo, Kayse says, "For the time being. Talk is cheap, I appreciate action."

[General] Pukk thinks, "No."

Sablo says, "We agree on that."

Sablo says, "We will soon hold a grand ceremony, where we take turns drinking from Gnul's hollowed skull."

Sablo nods.

Mourdeyan removes a tasseled rhimar tomahawk with a dark leather-wrapped hilt from in her grifflet pelt coat.

Mourdeyan thrusts her rhimar tomahawk into the air, and a howling noise, as of icy wind whipping through a gorge, sounds from somewhere nearby. A layer of frost slowly forms along the length of the tomahawk, coating Mourdeyan's hand and forearm as well.

Missoni cheerfully says, "That sounds fun."

Sablo grins at Mourdeyan.

Citan deeply says, "That would be a sight."

Speaking quietly to Missoni, Mourdeyan says, "Indeed."

Pookia says, "We should play stringed instruments made from his guts instead."

Speaking to Sablo, Raelee says, "A stone-based creature likely does not have a skull."

Sablo says, "An impressive tomahawk."

Sablo nods at Mourdeyan.

Speaking delicately to Sablo, Kayse says, "Let us not get too far ahead of ourselves."

Lylia says, "Lovely! Taking trophies is a time-honored tradition."

Sablo says, "It was a..."

Irval says, "Actually, they do have bones."

Sablo shrugs at Raelee.

Sablo waves his hand in a dismissive gesture.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Thank ye sir."

Guarrin reminds, "Even enemies deserve to be treated with respect."

Citan deeply says, "Well illoke have bones so."

Speaking to Raelee, Lylia says, "But they could be hollowed out to be quite a fine drinking vessel."

Irval says, "They are weak in the joints."

Speaking to Lylia, Raelee says, "The cranium, yes."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "We kin make a fine ...punch bowl."

Speaking to Guarrin, Lylia says, "Indeed. I treat my hair-sticks with great respect."

Sablo says, "I would be prepared by week's end, for Gnul to push another offensive."

Mourdeyan quietly asks, "An tha scouts sir?"

Lylia says, "As you surmised, they must continue the attacks to maintain that fragile unity."

Sablo says, "It is my hope by next week, we finally push an offensive."

Sablo says, "Of our own."

Alosaka says, "We'll do what we must."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "B'fore or after? I reckon we'll be on guard for tha offense."

Speaking to Sablo, Kayse prompts, "And you and the little bit of forces you have will be fighting along side us should he attack by week's end?"

Sablo says, "We'll likely execute our first offensive after their next attack."

Citan deeply says, "Perhaps it will a new hunting area for us ... Feather'd beast."

Sablo nods at Kayse.

Sablo says, "Some of them, yes."

Kayse nods once at Sablo.

Irval says, "Id like to be on the offensive for ones...Reactive as you say against this horde."

Mourdeyan quietly asks, "It beats fightin wi no help?"

Sablo says, "Some of them are not ready."

Citan deeply says, "Wonder what they taste like."

Perigourd says, "So brace the defenses."

Missoni says, "Ah, I do look forward to an offensive."

Pukk whispers something to Wolfloner.

Missoni murmurs, "Too much reacting, lately."

Sablo says, "An untrained warrior on the battlefield is often more trouble than good."

Speaking to Irval, Lylia says, "Yes. It was good to take the fight to the krolvin at Glaoveln, too."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd asks, "How are you set for arms?"

Speaking simply to Sablo, Kayse says, "While I agree with that statement, many of our townsfolk are not ready either, we have tasks for any one to help."

Sablo nods.

Sablo nods at Perigourd.

Sablo says, "Well, for now."

Sablo nods at Perigourd.

Sablo says, "We have some supply wagons coming in the next weeks."

Speaking to Kayse, Tikba says, "Good point, amisar. We have room on the ballista for any soldiers who are not ready or the front line."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "As yer forces grow, Elidl has made a deal wif landin for weapons and arms and such."

Wolfloner asks, "It is very curious is it not that the imperials arrived here before the imperials?"

Kayse rattles off, "Pylons, ballista, triage....helping with the dead."

Alosaka notes, "I think there might be some wagon-related fatigue settling in with our defenders."

Sablo begins chuckling at Alosaka!

Sablo asks, "If you see another wagon, it will be too soon?"

Speaking to herself, Chandrellia says, "Great more babysitting wagons."

Alosaka says, "I'm just saying, we have a river that is perfectly servicable for barges."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Somethin like, especially full of one decoy, or full of trolls."

Irval says, "I'll be there to assist with the settlers arriving or perhaps wandering off."

Vaemyr says, "Depends on the direction they are coming from."

Raelee whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking to Alosaka, Guarrin says, "A fair point. If the warship was not in the bay, we may make other arrangements."

Missoni encouragingly says, "You can think of them like wagons, but on the water."

Ulfwine says, "Load them up in Vornavis, bring around by the bay."

Sablo twists slightly, cracking his spine. He looks much better.

Speaking to Guarrin, Alosaka says, "We are blessed with a lovely port and bay."

Speaking to Alosaka, Guarrin agrees, "Indeed."

Speaking to Lylia, Wolfloner says, "You I view ceding ground very differently. As you term as mayor clearly demonstrated."

Bristenn slowly mentions, "Any movement along the Locksmehr would likely be spied by Gnul's alliance, to be fair."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "Twas good to finally meet you, I do hope that we are able to work together to drive out our enemies."

Speaking simply to Wolfloner, Lylia says, "Yes, we clearly do."

At the furthest edge of the campsite, still within the depths of the forest beyond, a white-cloaked woman appears amidst the light flurry of falling snow, her marked eyes observing the settlement and those gathered around the bonfire for a moment before stepping back out of sight.

Sablo nods at Vaemyr.

Wolfloner says, "On that we can agree Lylia."

Ulfwine says, "Ilyaas, I presume."

Speaking to Bristenn, Chandrellia says, "And with Bodohal in the bay as well, getting ships in undamaged would be a feat."

Sablo says, "Likewise. I have heard many things. Primarily good things."

Lylia says, "Considering I did not cede it, and the former Town Council did while I sought to expand it."

Sablo says, "We have many, many mutual enemies."

Sablo nods.

Speaking abruptly to Sablo, Kayse inquires, "Is your mind guarded as well?"

Speaking to Sablo, Irval asks, "Know her?"

Sablo nods at Perigourd. [Unclear why nodding at him...]

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "Welcome, again. If any of those squires look promising, the Holding is available for training."

Wolfloner says, "I remember it quite differently."

Lylia says, "But that was five years or so past, and had we followed Xorus' and my plans, all of this would have been a new little state."

Sablo squints off into the distance, where the woman in white once was.

Citan deeply says, "We also have a great warrior's guild."

Sablo nods at Guarrin.

Speaking to Wolfloner, Lylia says, "Clearly. You must not have been at the meetings with Chamberlain Retassal."

Sablo says, "Welcomed, thank you."

Sablo nods at Guarrin.

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka laments, "Paths not taken."

Lylia says, "But I shall catch you up on the minutes, should you have the time."

Sablo shrugs at Irval.

Sablo says, "Never met her. Know the name."

Speaking to Lylia, Wolfloner says, "I was not part of any of those plans. That is correct."

Tikba asks, "What do you know besides the name?"

Sablo says, "That's about it."

Sablo says, "She followed him from Bourth if I recall."

Sablo shrugs.

Sablo asks, "No, Riverwood?"

Sablo says, "One of those woodsy places."

Sablo shrugs.

Lylia says, "It was always my intention to push the boundaries of our town beyond its walls; the then-Council chose to limit the jurisdiction at the walls themselves, effectively setting the stage for the current barony of Darkstone as surely as killing an earl set the stage for a military outpost instead of an embassy."

Speaking to Sablo, Irval asks, "Mortar and stone more to your comfort?"

Sablo asks, "Well, thanks?"

Sablo peers quizzically at Lylia.

Sablo chuckles.

Lylia says, "Some dice were cast years ago, or decades. What can we do now but make the most of those results."

(Lylia shrugs eloquently.)

Sablo looks over at Irval and shakes his head.

Sablo says, "I was never long in the Keep either."

Sablo looks over at Irval and shakes his head.

Speaking to Lylia, Wolfloner says, "That you achieved what you intended I am not disputing."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "Forgive me for discussing politics that are long past."

Sablo begins chuckling at Lylia!

Speaking to Wolfloner, Lylia says, "Ah, but I did not."

Speaking to Sablo, Irval says, "Well maybe once all is said and done, you can find what is you do like."

Speaking to Lylia, Wolfloner says, "He is an interloper not deserving of any apology."

Sablo glares at Wolfloner.

Speaking to Lylia, Raelee says, "Knowledge of the past is critical to understanding of the present."

Speaking to Sablo, Wolfloner exclaims, "There it is!"

Speaking smoothly to Sablo, Tikba interjects, "We are glad to have you here, Commander."

Sablo nods at Tikba.

Tikba says, "But we will be gladder when the fight against Gnul begins in earnest."

Speaking to Tikba, Pukk says, "Not we..."

Lylia says, "If I had achieved my goals, that might have been true; as it is, this land is not Wehnimer's to claim or shake fists at others for occupying."

Speaking to Sablo, Missoni says, "We have heard much about you, and it is good to meet you finally."

Sablo says, "Have a good night all, we'll speak soon again, and battle not long after I am sure."

Wolfloner points at Sablo.

Speaking to Sablo, Ulfwine says, ""I know of you by reputation, commander, and I wish you well here. If I may be of any humble service, please ask."

Sablo says, "To clarify, battle with each other, not battle each other."

Sablo chuckles.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Fair eve Commander."

Wolfloner says, "There is the problem Lylia."

Speaking to Sablo, Bristenn observes, "Commander."

Lylia mildly says, "I do not resent a setback of a decade or so, though. I shall see change in another decade or two."

Elliathe says, "Good eve to ye Commander."

Sablo and Ulfwine shake hands.

Speaking to Sablo, Pukk says, "Good luck storming the castle."

Sablo says, "Well met."

Sablo nods at Ulfwine.

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "It was a pleasure."

Wolfloner says, "That archaic feudal systme."

Speaking to Sablo, Ulfwine says, ""And you as well, sleep well."

Wolfloner says, "And the ilk that spawns from it."

Wolfloner glances at Sablo.

Sablo asks, "Sleep?"

Sablo says, "That is for the dead."

Sablo waves.

Commander Sablo just went southeast.

Discussion Afterward

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "Sounds familiar."

Leafiara takes a bite of her salty popcorn.

Lylia says, "The Faendryl do not follow some 'archaic feudal system.' We do, however, adhere to the letter of the law, and the Town Council indisputably ruled that the town itself ended at its walls."

Wolfloner says, "Mayor."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Hopefully you can share that with me next time."

Tikba thoughtfully says, "Him, I like."

Ulfwine says, "Fair eve."

Leafiara offers Pukk some salty popcorn.

Pukk declines Leafiara's offer.

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja asks, "Yes?"

Pukk says, "I will eat it all now."

Tikba agrees, "Yes."

Speaking amusedly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "I do carry lots."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "Returning to town."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk exclaims, "I will remember to ask then!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Never know when you need popcorn."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia asks, "Shall I steal you?"

Speaking to Tikba, Ulfwine says, ""There are stories . . ."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Always."

Pukk says, "Aha. Lylia is a rogue at heart."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "Moving."

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja says, "I'm afraid I missed most of his conversation."

Speaking to Thrassus, Lylia says, "I would steal you too, but you may prefer to steal away yourself."

[Guarrin's group moves and Leafi with it, but she fogs back to the campsite]

[Imperial Campsite]

A roaring bonfire demands attention from the center of this temporary town, its coppery gold flames mesmerizing as they dance. Rows of tents bordering the fire create purposeful pathways to other areas of the camp. You also see an inlaid leather grimoire soaring around with its gilt-swept ethereal violet pinions, a long wooden log and a stained wooden keg.

Kiyna annoyedly says, "I'm leaving. I'll be in my office."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Now, as I was saying..."

Lylia says, "Good, then I shall spirit you both away."

Speaking to Xorus, Pukk says, "This mushy stuff from you is even scarier than your smile."

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia says, "That is why he does it."

Speaking to Raelee, Lylia says, "Be well, Magister."

Pukk says, "You sadist."

Xorus says, "That rolton would make a fine vessel for poison."

Bellaja says, "Was interesting to hear him generalize about some woody place. You'd think details would be important to him."

Speaking to Bellaja, Tikba says, "To sum it up, he has a plan for us to destroy Gnul, by attacking and splitting his forces."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara adds, "In fairness, I'd only consider tonight's time waster acceptably entertaining. Seen many better and many far better. But I give it a three and a half out of ten."

Wolfloner says, "It is hard for me to discern the word Mushy and the name Xorus....."

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja asks, "And you feel it is a solid one?"

Speaking to Kayse, Pukk says, "It was good to see you bu.....Councilor Kayse."

Leafiara muses, "Maybe four... will have to think on that."

Kayse grumbles, "I am not a butterfly."

Speaking to Raelee, Wolfloner says, "Magister! Great to see you as always."

Speaking steadily to Bellaja, Tikba says, "I do. He and I think alike in some ways."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Raelee asks, "Is it?"

Wolfloner nods at Raelee.

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja says, "Well then, I'll take that as a positive."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Raelee says, "But of course."

Chandrellia says, "Well I have but a few minute remaing to see the Invoker, please excuse me."

Speaking to Leafiara, Wolfloner says, "Good to you see again Mayor. It has been far too long."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Raelee says, "... and good evening."

Leafiara considers, "Let's see... the entertaining points were the butterfly, the not caring about feelings, the idea to go butcher wildlife, and the fight with half the last council..."

Speaking soothingly to Kayse, Tikba says, "I am sure the rudeness will end once he has seen your work."

Kayse grumpily wishes, "Fair evening."

Leafiara says, "I highly doubt it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr asks, "Oh not the "we have a lot of work to do" "Not here" 'points at Wehnimer's' ?"

Speaking to Kayse, Wolfloner says, "Congratulations on your successfull election. I heard you slaughterd the field."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I said that in the not caring about feelings part."

Speaking appreciatively to Wolfloner, Kayse says, "Thank you."

Vaemyr says, "Ahh ok."

Leafiara says, "Meanwhile the Gryphons just eat him right up."

Speaking to Tikba, Kayse asks, "I am going back to town, care to join?"

Vaemyr says, "He's basically what I expected, which is enough at least to probably work with and deal with Gnul. But we'll see about things long term I guess."

Town Councilor Kayse's group just went west.

Town Councilor Vaemyr dissolves into motes of vermillion light that flow west.

Leafiara says, "And off they go."

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "So.."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Leafiara says, "By this point, the town's too far gone to hear or understand most of your points."

Speaking to Leafiara, Wolfloner says, "It seems doubtful Sablo has anything to offer."

Leafiara says, "Their selective memory has somehow forgotten Davard, Chaston, Dennet, Naimorai, Quinshon, Octaven, Praxopius, and Vlashandra."

Leafiara says, "Therefore they think the Landing's primary enemy isn't the Empire."

Wolfloner says, "I will try to remind them."

Wolfloner asks, "It is my lot is it not?"
