Synopsis

Future Baron Elidal meets everyone in Commander Sablo's tent before the attack on Gnul's forge planned for the following night. However, first he brings news: Earl Jovery has reviewed his request and a response is expected by next weekend. Elidal had requested clarity of the protectorate status and proposed a few things, so we'll see if he gets all, some, or none of it.

Using the information gathered by the scouting party the night before, Magister Enisius has charted the path for Amos's Badger to bring people from the camp to the cavern where the forges are located. Multiple groups will be needed since each tunnel saw differing groups and caliber of creatures.

Sir Guarrin is the first to mention the families down there, like goblin children, and thus commences a moral debate. Guarrin proposes sending Sablo to attack the entrance, hopefully drawing combatants out of the main cavern area; however, Elidal says the previous entrance used by the scouting team has been buried already and Gnul's forces probably burrow new entrances often.

Councilor Kayse's alternative is to use a stinky smoke with a mild toxin, just enough to impose the idea of a danger that will alert the innocents to evacuate. Elidal asks how this would happen since the battle would already have begun once the Badger arrives. Marshal Stormyrain says it could be done upon arrival. Mourdeyan says it would also confuse the Landing's own forces, though Kayse says it wouldn't be the kind of smoke that conceals anyone. Elidal says Gnul is clever and knows people's weakness: heart.

Sablo arrives on the scene and Elidal informs him that everyone wishes to minimize deaths of "the children and women, and the cooks, and bakers, and candlestick makers." Sablo asks if they're mad and if they'd sleep easier if the Barony paid a bounty like the Adventurer's Guild to quiet the bleeding hearts.

Sablo borrows chalk and sketches out a baby goblin growing up into an adult goblin and decapitating an elf. He asks if they don't think that the cooks, blacksmiths, and peddlers are armed with blades ready to wedge into people's eyes. Missoni says a goblin might grow up and become an ally if spared, so Sablo says to name one goblin ally they've ever known and he'll walk out of the tent. However, although Thrassus mentions Stiletto and Stormy brings up a tiny blue-eyed goblin that aided people who she still sees occasionally, Sablo calls it madness that they've spent weeks searching for the forge and planning infiltration and the attack only for people to talk about saving monster babies instead of discussing strategy.

Elidal cautions a measure of calm, as the Landing adventurers are the Barony's allies and he shares their concerns. He suggests it might be best if Sablo remains with the camp to protect its own women and children. Sablo at first says he can't be serious, but Elidal says their people would feel more comforted. Sablo says very well, but glares and leaves. Elidal says to give him time, as he's been an army of one for most of his life. Before Elidal goes for the night, Kayse gets confirmation that Elidal has received her missive regarding Captain Bodohal.

Highlights

Sablo asks, "Would you sleep easier at night if I paid a bounty for each? Like your shiny guild in your town?"
Gutstorm grunts at Sablo and nods.
Gutstorm holds his palm out toward Sablo, looking for a handout.

Log

Awaiting Elidal

A heavy blanket of glistening snow descends from the sky, dusting Wehnimer's Landing and its environs in a shroud of white.

[General] Kayani thinks, "Weather in the landing seems to be getting nastier."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "Founit!"

[General] Urpy asks, "Found your flask?"

[General] Kelfyr thinks, "I'm afraid to know what you found, Guts."

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a disconsolate swamp spirit that is flying around, the Guarrin disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Arahnim disk, the Urpy disk, the orange Qwizzer disk, the Koul disk, a melancholy wasteland spirit that is flying around, the Maleagant disk, the Coins disk, a red-eyed highland serval, the Irasari disk, the Lagavullin disk, a thick disk of golden dwarf bread, a pale-faced coppery barn owl that is flying around, a crackling fire, a silver-traced carved mahogany cart with some stuff on it, an ivy-covered white monir tower, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Also here: the body of Lady Cynnathra who is lying down, Lady Kayani, Sir Guarrin, Arahnim, Irval, Great Lady Urpy, Qwizzer, Vatsesan, Kishki, Town Councilor Kiyna, Koul, Tikba, Dumple, Maleagant, Coins, Irasari, Lagavullin, Prothiel, Notnil, Andromalius who is sitting

[Realm] Geijon asks, "It was one of th' tents, Gut?"

Roelon deeply says, "Bloody wind..." [OOC note: For future reference, during this general time period the storm around the Landing was being presented as so bad that there were ambient damaging rounds of storms firing off in the environs every so often.]

Irval asks, "Weather front coming in eh?"

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Seems it."

Speaking softly to Irval, Kayani says, "Looks that way."

Speaking in Guildspeak, Kalindon heartily says something you don't understand.

[General] Elidal thinks, "Good evening."

[General] Kayani thinks, "Ohh, speaking of trouble."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Evening, Eli."

Mourdeyan says, "Hah."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Evening Elidal."

Irval says, "Hmm the fire symbol. Usually meant for a turning point."

[General] Ulfwine thinks, ""Good evening M'Lord."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Good evening Lord Elidal."

[General] Kayse politely thinks, "Fair evening, Eli."

Irval says, "Ram horn...meant to be seen as a warning."

Speaking in Guildspeak, Kalindon heartily says something you don't understand.

Kiyna asks, "No Pukk, hm?"

Irval says, "Inverted harvest rune, losely translates to reward..."

[General] Tikba greets, "Good evening, Elidal."

[General] Goldstr thinks, "Evenin Lord Elidal."

Kiyna recites:

"Everyone join Cryheart, I suppose."

Kayani softly says, "Careful, you may speak him up."

[General] Elidal thinks, "I'll be along to the Commander's Pavilion in the camp shortly."

Geijon says, "Of course, he's back at Sablo's."

[General] Mourdeyan thinks, "Evening Lord Elidal."

Tikba mildly says, "A fitting place to plan an attack."

Speaking to Cryheart, Vaemyr says, "And back we go."

Kiyna says, "Sablo, huh. Suddenly I don't wish to go."

[travel]

Kayani softly says, "I count on the family stealth to help me run if need be."

[Sablo's Pavilion]

Dark brown walls of canvas are pulled taut along several wooden posts, providing a wide center floor for the command pavilion. A large cot occupies one corner, a heavy ermine blanket tossed haphazardly upon it. Dominating the middle of the tent is a huge modwir table littered with dozens of maps, carved wooden miniatures, empty scroll tubes, and a shrunken skull paperweight. You also see the Urpy disk, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, a lazy wild smoky grey dog, the web-draped Missoni disk, a disconsolate swamp spirit that is flying around, the skull-shaped Irval disk, a melancholy wasteland spirit that is flying around, the Arahnim disk, an animated flayed gigas disciple, the Guarrin disk, a grey-muzzled autumn-hued kit with black stockings, the Stormyrain disk, the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine and a tent flap.

Goldstr says, "Evenin all."

[General] Geijon thinks, "We figured as much, Lord Elidal."

Kelfyr says, "Should warm up in here in a bit with so many packed in."

Speaking to Missoni, Stormyrain asks, "Did you hear anything about the King's court session this day?"

Elidal's News

Lord Elidal just arrived.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wot to do, wot to do!"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Missoni says, "I have not yet, unfortunately."

Elidal grins.

Cryheart says, "Evening."

Elidal rubs his arms.

Elidal says, "Ah, the bodies bring lots of warmth in here."

Elidal smirks.

Speaking to Elidal, Missoni greets, "Lord Elidal."

Mourdeyan says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Good evening."

Speaking worriedly to Elidal, Missoni asks, "Are you chilled? Would you like tea?"

Elidal says, "I would welcome it."

Elidal nods at Missoni.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Kelfyr says something you don't understand.

Missoni carefully pulls apart her lor tray, creating an individual serving to share.

Missoni offers Elidal a lor board dotted with luminous arathiel starflies amid a silvery sky.

Missoni smiles.

Elidal asks, "I understand some congratulations are in order?"

Elidal accepts Missoni's lor board.

Irval says, "Indeed."

Vaemyr asks, "Congratulations?"

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus asks, "For?"

Irval says, "The scouting mission and reports from Sablo were accurate."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Stormyrain asks something you don't understand.

Thrassus says, "Ah."

Guarrin says, "A bit early for that, but there was a successful scouting mission, yes."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "Perhaps any celebration can wait till the forge has been destroyed."

Goldstr exclaims, "Da Kobold Krew!"

Elidal says, "We celebrate every victory."

Elidal nods at Guarrin.

Ulfwine says, "Wot to do wot to do."

Elidal says, "No casualities, and valuable information."

Elidal offers Missoni a lor board dotted with luminous arathiel starflies amid a silvery sky.

Missoni looks thoughtfully at Elidal.

Missoni accepts Elidal's lor board.

Missoni offers Elidal a lor board dotted with luminous arathiel starflies amid a silvery sky.

Elidal accepts Missoni's lor board.

Lifting an alabaster teacup shaped as an unfurling peony from a pale skyglass saucer placed on his lor board, Elidal gingerly sips the hot beverage.

Elidal smiles.

Elidal says, "So fancy."

Elidal nods at Missoni.

Elidal smirks.

Roelon whispers something to Gutstorm.

Missoni flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Elidal says, "I've some news before we discuss tomorrow night."

Elidal says, "Either way, I will not keep you all long. We should rest, if we can. Tomorrow eve brings many challenges."

Elidal says, "The news I bring is vague but..."

Elidal says, "I am told Earl Jovery has reviewed my request."

Elidal says, "Furthermore, I have been told to expect a response by the next weekend."

Goldstr says, "Goods to hear."

Elidal says, "Absolutely no details have been shared with me though."

Mourdeyan says, "Ver'good."

Speaking mildly to Elidal, Tikba says, "That is unfortunate."

Kayse lightly asks, "Is that something to be concerned about?"

Elidal says, "No."

Vaemyr says, "Well next weekend is much sooner than a couple months."

Elidal nods at Vaemyr.

Ulfwine says, "The wheels of state often turn slowly."

Mourdeyan says, "So the good news is we'll know sooner rather than later."

Vaemyr says, "Honestly, a bit surprising, but it will be good to hear his response."

Irval says, "No news can be its own good news..."

Elidal says, "The Earl is often a private man. He will let his words speak for themselves, and nothing prior to it is needed."

Elidal says, "As many of you had requested, I sought future clarity of the protectorate status of Wehnimer's Landing, and proposed a few things for him to consider as well."

Elidal says, "We'll see if I get all of it, some of it, or none of it."

Elidal chuckles.

Lifting an alabaster teacup shaped as an unfurling peony from a pale skyglass saucer placed on his lor board, Elidal gingerly sips the hot beverage.

Elidal offers Missoni a lor board dotted with luminous arathiel starflies amid a silvery sky.

Missoni accepts Elidal's lor board.

Speaking neutrally to Elidal, Bristenn ventures, "What did you propose, for clarification?"

Elidal says, "I cannot disclose yet."

Elidal nods at Bristenn.

Bristenn nods understandingly at Elidal.

Elidal says, "I know the crowd. I would not wish to allude to anything that does not come to pass."

Bristenn reasonably answers, "Fair enough, Lord Dhenin."

Goldstr says, "I would bae worry as da Earl and baron Malwind have both been feiends of da landin."

Geijon says, "Earl Jovery has been kind to us, and we in turn."

Irval says, "Better to under promise and over deliever one might say."

Strike on the Forge

Elidal says, "Now, the more pressing matter..."

Geijon says, "We've all risked much when it mattered."

Elidal says, "Tomorrow night, if all goes well, we strike at the forge."

Elidal asks, "Amos's...machination? Digger? The Badger?"

Elidal asks, "What do we call it?"

Elidal smirks.

Mourdeyan says, "Badger."

Irval asks, "The dirt dobbler?"

Ulfwine says, "Badger, aye."

Goldstr says, "Badger aye."

Mourdeyan says, "Gopher."

Kiyna says, "I liked Roa'ter, myself."

Elidal says, "I am told by my brother his path is charted, and the Badger will come and go from the camp, to the cavern."

Wharwick deeply says, "The mole."

Elidal says, "You will be able to ride it there, and back as needed."

Ulfwine says, "Hope the journey is quick, it seems a touch claustrophobic."

Bellaja says, "A little tight down there."

Elidal says, "I understand there are three or more forges. So we need to be prepared. Groups will likely be necessary."

Elidal asks, "The scouts may best answer this for us, but I was under the impression, each tunnel saw its own group of...monsters if you will?"

Perigourd says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr asks, "The scouts, certainly discovered a lot more than just the forges in there... perhaps there might be a way that we can create a bit of chaos and get a significant portion of the current occupents to flee when we arrive?"

Perigourd says, "Some heartier than others."

Elidal says, "I see."

Elidal nods at Perigourd.

Avalera says, "That would be accurate, yes."

Speaking to Elidal, Ulfwine says, ""At least three we found, but there may well have been as many as three more. And yes, each tunnel hosted a particular breed."

Elidal says, "So some tunnels may be best suited for those less trained than others."

Quandaries

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "There was mention of families and children present there as well."

Wink wink nudge nudge.

Speaking deeply to Elidal, Wharwick asks, "Will we have a central camp onsite for respite?"

Elidal nods at Guarrin.

Elidal sighs.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Well, me placed order wit da Clopy blackshmiff ferra feral claidhmore, kin me pickup me order afore all hell break loosh?"

Elidal says, "I heard..."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Which creates a complication for sending a large force."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse asks, "Would you be open to hearing propositions for possible solutions to that?"

Missoni hopefully says, "I thought perhaps we could usher some of the younger goblins out..."

Elidal says, "I've let Commander Sablo know. He's preparing some of our own troops as well. The mixed lot we have."

Elidal chuckles.

Speaking to Wharwick, Geijon says, "Good question."

Elidal peers quizzically at Kayse.

Elidal says, "I am always open to hearing anything."

Speaking simply to Guarrin, Kayse asks, "You said you had a plan earlier on the porch, would you like to go first?"

Speaking to Kayse, Guarrin says, "Very well."

Mourdeyan says, "Flush em into the opening? like when the Kobs were herdin rolton and there was wholesale slaughter."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr says, "I has some concern fer da innicent townfolks livin der."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Da norfern archway tunnel had da weakesht guard walkin bout, and iffin ye go counter da clock, each tunnel got lil tougher."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "In order to draw some of the forces out, and perhaps encounter fewer combatants inside, I suggest we send Commander Sablo and a group to hit the entrance directly."

Elidal shrugs at Wharwick.

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Make a bit of noise at the front door, then send the bager in."

Irval says, "So there was a fork with six possible directions and beyond that an arch that when passed through had its own settlement of sorts."

Elidal says, "If it allows, I am sure you could make a triage within the cavern Wharwick."

Geijon says, "I'd volunteer for that."

Elidal asks, "The front door?"

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Yes, this entrance."

Kayse offers, "Entrance to the tunnel."

Kelfyr says, "It's..."

Elidal says, "We're making our own entrance."

Elidal chuckles.

Kelfyr says, "Not all that assaultable."

Ulfwine says, "I looked about for it this evening, could not locate it again."

Ulfwine says, "Where we went in last night."

Elidal says, "My scouts already informed me the hole some of you went into is already buried. It's likely they burrow new entrances often."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dey buried da front door already, me went to go down dere earlier today to pick up me feral claidhmore order."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "We are attempting to draw some of the hostiles out of the cavern. Less chaos inside."

Irval says, "Keep in mind Eli, that there is still the wall of lightning blocking each forge."

Elidal nods at Gutstorm.

Speaking to Kayse, Guarrin asks, "Well, so much for that. You had an idea as well?"

Elidal says, "If Sablo is dispatched to the Sentoph, that also alerts them..."

Speaking wryly to Elidal, Kayse says, "I would like to suggest creating an effect to "smoke out" the innocents from the tunnels. Creating a highly stinky smoke with a MILD toxin--enough to impose there is a danger for them to evacuate."

Ulfwine asks, "Innocent Trolls?"

Kelfyr says, "Children."

Speaking to Ulfwine, Stormyrain says, "Children."

Geijon says, "One still needs to be designated a combatant."

Kayse flatly says, "Children. Perhaps Gnul killed some of ours but I am not one to sink to this level."

Speaking to Kayse, Vaemyr says, "I was thinking something similar, even perhaps... if we have Elidal's consent having Enisius also help with an illusion for effect."

Elidal says, "I understand the concept of trying to smoke them out...and I get it..."

Kayani softly says, "There was this ONE troll that was pretty innocent. but that was ages ago."

Irval says, "I feel that the intention of having children and families there was to dissuade of from attacking for that very reason."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hey me need to enlighten shum ye, dem goblin chilren may be chilren and all dat, but dey talked about eattin hoominsh and shtuff, sho think twice bout tryin to shave dem, me jush wanted to dopt one cuz they kinna cute."

Kelfyr says, "It also lightens the load of forces the assault team faces."

Elidal asks, "But we are riding a giant drill through the earth to pop out into the cavern. When would we deploy the smoke?"

Goldstr says, "Donna matter wha race, families matter."

Elidal says, "The battle would already have begun..."

Elidal says, "I cannot imagine the Badger is quiet upon arrival."

Elidal nods at Irval.

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "It would be before hand. But I also wasn't aware the entrance has been buried."

Mourdeyan says, "I wager if they are families as we recognise, they will have considered the safety of their young."

Elidal says, "Yes, Gnul has been proven to be calculating. Building the forges beneath children and women orcs and goblins was by design, I am sure of it."

Irval nods at Elidal.

Elidal nods at Irval.

Tikba says, "They have chosen to oppose us."

Missoni hesitantly asks, "Perhaps we could have one team ready to safeguard any children who are separated from their minders and milling about in the chaos?"

Stormyrain offers, "Maybe upon arrival--it may encourage the non-combatants to exit the tunnels instead of trying to find safety there."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Vaemyr asks, "Were you perhaps able to sense a pattern for a portal while you were doing there?"

Stormyrain shrugs.

Thrassus says, "Some things just can't be helped."

Tikba says, "They choose what comes of it."

Kelfyr says, "Or hiding their families deep below ground where they hope for their safety."

Bellaja says, "They know what they are doing down there. The parents.."

Elidal says, "We could deploy smoke right before our attack, upon arrival, yes."

Goldstr says, "Gnul works like Rysus did."

Elidal says, "Commander Sablo has of course, expressed his plans as well."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Tikba says, "It was foolish of them, then, to seek safety next to their engines of war."

Stormyrain asks, "And they are?"

Irval says, "In the end it will be us or them. We can try and prevent needless slaughter. But this is war there can be no doubt. Innocents always pay the price during war. That is the way of it."

Stormyrain raises an eyebrow in Elidal's direction.

Elidal smacks a balled fist into his palm.

Geijon says, "Fear may be our advantage. It would drive less resilient types away."

Elidal nods at Stormyrain.

Elidal smirks.

Geijon says, "Put us in masks and make us demons."

Stormyrain offers, "Sounds right."

Stormyrain folds her arms over her chest.

Speaking to Elidal, Mourdeyan says, "A concern is that any smoke screen will do more to confuse those unfamiliar wit the surroundings."

Kiyna says, "It's us or them. I won't attack any that don't attack me, but I won't let them stop me from destroying those forges."

Wharwick deeply says, "Orc families, there's a laughable thought."

Elidal says, "That is a valid concern."

Perigourd says, "It will be hard to distinguish one foe from another in the haze of a smoke-filled cavern."

Elidal nods at Mourdeyan.

Kiyna adds, "Doesn't mean I have to like it."

Elidal says, "We are going into a territory we do not know."

Mourdeyan nods at Elidal.

Guarrin says, "They wlll certainly be destroyed."

Elidal says, "The smoke could inadvertenly make it harder on us."

Perigourd says, "As would giving up any element of surprise we have."

Stormyrain suggests, "We can utilize breeze and purify air to keep our forces clear minded and without the effects of the toxin."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Shmoke rise, it no botter me, me walk right unner it."

Irval says, "I think that while smoke is a sound alternative. It also gives them cover to build a counter-attack."

Mourdeyan says, "It would seem the only advantage to a smoke screen would be escape under cover for our enemies."

Kayse says, "The smoke is not to conceal anyone. The point is to utilize the toxic fumes of the plants."

Kayse indicates a spray of niveous hemlock as a possible option.

Elidal asks, "Would the toxic fumes not effect us?"

Kayse says, "There are spells to protect us."

Stormyrain says, "Breeze and purify air."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "Poison resist and purify air."

Kelfyr says, "And spells to direct it out and down the tunnels before the raiding party."

Irval asks, "Plague masks?"

Kayse says, "We would need mages and rangers to use their spells to command the elements to push the toxins throughout the caverns."

Bellaja says, "Put a filter in your rook beak."

Speaking deeply to Irval, Wharwick says, "Haven't seen any of those in a couple years."

Bellaja flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks. [Possibly was supposed to be a whisper to someone, but I'm not certain enough to delete it.]

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "I trust the magic folks on that one. Their powerful combatants likely have ways of circumventing the smoke, or it may not impair them much... but the civilians will have no choice but to flee."

Elidal says, "I am open to ideas. Sablo may be harder to convince."

Kayse adds, "I would need assistance gathering some herbs as well."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "We don't know where the exits are, but they do."

Tikba says, "If the enemies are forced to escape, they will no doubt rebuild their forges."

Speaking to Kayse, Mourdeyan asks, "So more potential noncombatants to protect and confuse in the small confines?"

Guarrin whispers to the group, "We'll have to restrict our area attacks."

Speaking to Elidal, Geijon says, "Sablo has to answer to his own actions."

Tikba says, "One forge is irreplaceable. Three forges suggests that they can be replaced."

Cryheart says, "Let us hope Gnul dinnae hae any mandis crystals."

Evia says, "So this poison, how would one know the strength was not strong enough to just kill the very youngest outright, for that matter? A wee one is not very strong."

Thrassus says, "A feras forge is not something can can be built back quickly."

Speaking to Cryheart, Guarrin says, "We would know if he did."

Speaking airily to Mourdeyan, Kayse says, "Who? There are many rangers and mages among us. I do not hear anyone offering solutions otherwise."

Tikba mildly says, "I would prefer they not build them back at all."

Irval whispers to the group, "I dont know that handicapping ourselves as it were would be prudent but we can try to do our best to not to kill the children."

Cryheart says, "Really fast, when magic cannoe be used."

Speaking to Evia, Perigourd says, "The dosage would indeed differ from the young to the old."

Tikba says, "After all, we did not know of these forges until they were directed against us."

Speaking to Evia, Kiyna says, "For that, you'd just have to trust our poison-makers."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "I am confident in our capabilities."

Kayani softly asks, "Whats to say these are the only forges anyway, maybe just the east headquarters is there?"

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "On Sablo... I would encourage you to urge him to not have additional displays like what happened after our raid on the Griffins... We'll do what we must in the end, but we don't need to take pleasure in it either."

Mourdeyan says, "Just considering all the options Kayse, that wasn't an attack on yer idea."

Kayse says, "There is no guarantee that it would not kill anyone, but it will perhaps save most."

Irval says, "Grifflets are different."

Elidal sighs.

Mourdeyan says, "Er, Kiyna."

Speaking to Mourdeyan, Kayse admits, "I am not strategic when it comes to battle nor is this my expertise."

Kayse wryly says, "Well poisons are."

Elidal says, "Gnul is clever. I will give him that."

Cryheart asks, "Will Sablo expain his tactics before we attack or who is involved?"

Elidal says, "He knows our weakness."

Elidal says, "Heart."

Speaking to Elidal, Irval asks, "Any advances in the magical walls of lightning?"

Tikba says, "Nobody should be forced to enter the cavern and face the prospect of killing whoever we encounter."

Speaking to Elidal, Kelfyr says, "That is not a weakness."

Speaking melodically to Cryheart, Urpy asks, "Does he usually?"

Bellaja says, "If you're going in tomorrow night there's hardly time for a moral debate."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "Consideration for the weak is not a fault."

Tikba says, "Let those of us who volunteer carry that burden."

Cryheart says, "I dinnae no."

Cryheart says, "Know."

Geijon says, "Gnul has no idea about us."

Tikba simply says, "We will do what must be done."

Elidal says, "It is a weakness in war, some would argue."

Lylia says, "The element of surprise may already be lost to some extent. The idea of shouting, 'get out of the way!' before we go in seems designed to cost more lives for us."

Elidal says, "But it is the very thread that keeps us men instead of monsters."

Speaking to Elidal, Kelfyr asks, "You get to decide how you want the legacy of this to be written. Elidal the righteous? Elidal the bloodthirsty?"

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "I don't doubt that we'll do what we came there to do, but preserving life is what we're going in there for to begin with."

Speaking to Elidal, Lylia says, "I am no man."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Waging war in that manner is how you end up infused with mandis shards."

Sablo's Plan

Commander Sablo just arrived.

Elidal nods at Guarrin.

Sablo bows to Elidal.

Sablo says, "Lord Elidal."

Sablo nods.

Sablo says, "Others."

Elidal asks, "Commander, were your ears burning?"

Urpy melodically asks, "We all murder, is a mother orc and more innocent than a rolton?"

Sablo says, "No." [quite confident this was a response to Elidal rather than Urpy, based on the timing observed live that night]

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee observes, "In effect, you have been placed in a very difficult decision. To be branded as cruel should a single 'innocent' die, yet if you do not act upon such, more innocents are likely to die amongst your own and within the town."

Speaking evenly to Sablo, Stormyrain greets, "Commander."

Xorus asks, "If these orc and goblin mothers choose to fight, will they be cut down only to leave orc and goblin orphans?"

Elidal says, "We are discussing strategies for the strike on the forge."

Sablo asks, "What is there to discuss?"

Elidal says, "Well..."

Elidal sighs.

Tikba demurs, "Elidal is not responsible. Each of us, who enters the cavern, will bear the responsibility for what we do."

Speaking to Sablo, Goldstr asks, "Mayhaps yer tactics?"

Mourdeyan says, "Positioning, strategy with whoever is going in."

Irval says, "And what to do of the children that are there. Im not sure that the Home for orphans would accept War-torn goblin children into their arms..."

Raelee whispers something to Xorus.

Elidal says, "We wish to minimize the deaths of the children and women, and the cooks, and bakers, and candlestick makers."

Sablo asks, "Spare them?"

Sablo asks, "Are you all mad?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me'll dopt one da goblin kiddo."

Lylia incredulously asks, "Why do we care when we slaughter them wholesale? What makes these kobolds and orcs different from the ones whose blood wet our drake falchions at some point?"

Speaking melodically to Sablo, Urpy says, "Please don't make me agree with you..."

Sablo asks, "Would you sleep easier at night if I paid a bounty for each? Like your shiny guild in your town?"

Speaking to Urpy, Mourdeyan says, "Gotya covered."

Speaking to Sablo, Kelfyr says, "No guild pays me to kill children."

Lylia archly says, "I might not sleep more easily, but I would sleep between more expensive sheets."

Sablo asks, "Can we fund that?"

Sablo peers quizzically at Elidal.

Irval says, "We are of an agreement that the forges were placed strategically to lessen our resolve. It still makes it unsavory."

Speaking simply to Sablo, Tikba says, "No."

Speaking to Sablo, Kelfyr says, "No honorable man takes joy in it."

Sablo says, "Bounties for all. That is the only thing that quiets these giant bleeding hearts."

Elidal sighs.

Sablo says, "I do not take joy in it."

Sablo nods at Kelfyr.

Irval says, "But no doubt still necessary to do what needs to be done."

Kelfyr says, "Nonsense."

Missoni says, "I am not in the habit of killing when it is not necessary to do so, and certainly not children."

Speaking mildly to Sablo, Tikba says, "If you had such funds, you would not need us so badly."

Sablo says, "But I do not let emotions lose wars."

Ulfwine says, "Not children, small trolls, which grow into big troll. As mindless as the snakes in vipershroud only on two legs."

Speaking to Sablo, Raelee observes, "Practical."

Speaking to Sablo, Evia says, "Cut the dung, sir."

Speaking crisply to Sablo, Kayse asks, "Have you killed a humanoid child before?"

Thrassus says, "I am quite fine with filling those tunnels with flame and just being done with it."

Sablo glances at Kayse.

Guarrin says, "If it is difficult to tell you from the monster you hunt after the victory, labeling it such may be rather inaccurate."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me shorta kilt one tryin to gitter back to town, but she didnt duck."

Tikba suggests, "Perhaps the Badger could be used to simply collapse the cavern."

Cryheart says, "I dinnae like killing children of any culture, perhaps just be wary of over using area effect spells."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr asks, "Too short sited, showing mercy here may open up other options later. You are right that from a pure battle perspective we should not. But what if it allows us a dialog with some of the races of Gnul's forces in the future, that allows peaceful deals with them?"

Speaking deeply to Kayse, Wharwick says, "The orc are barely more intelligent than beasts."

Cryheart says, "Or berserking."

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja says, "That'd certainly stifle their cries."

Speaking evenly to Sablo, Kayse says, "Answer me."

Speaking respectfully to Guarrin, Tikba says, "It is easy to tell me from the monster afterwards. One is alive."

Speaking melodically to Bellaja, Urpy asks, "Now where's the fun in that?"

Sablo says, "I don't need to answer you Kayse."

Speaking to Tikba, Guarrin says, "Just another monster."

Thrassus says, "The last time they tried to have a dialogue with the town they were slaughtered as I recall."

Speaking to Sablo, Kelfyr says, "That's not a no."

Cryheart asks, "If we kill children regardless, does that make us like Gnul?"

Lylia reminds, "While we tie ourselves in knots here, the enemy is blissfully unaware, continuing to forge the feras weapons that have destroyed so many of our own townsfolk, and of the settlers here."

Kayani softly says, "That, in and of itself, is an answer."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me try to tell dem da children goblin talked bout eating ush, which funny cuz well, if shumone shay dey want eat me, letting dem live ont firsht thing on me genda."

Sablo says, "Let me make this very easy for you to hopefully comprehend..."

Irval says, "Bottom line I feel is that this should be volunteer based obviously. And if you dinnae think you have the stomach for that which comes next...Maybe sit this one out? I just dont know of a way to do this without putting our people in more danger by crippling ourselves to spare the innocents as it were."

Sablo asks, "Does anyone have some chalk?"

Sablo smirks.

Guarrin says, "Perhaps we are best to leave it to the Code. Let each of us safeguard our own honor in this."

Missoni removes some waxy translucent chalk from in her alligator skin case.

Missoni offers Sablo some waxy translucent chalk.

Sablo accepts Missoni's translucent chalk.

Kiyna says, "Sorcerers and their chalk."

Tikba agrees, "In the end, each of us does."

Kayani softly says, "I may have some wax sticks."

Sablo stands in front of a huge modwir table.

Speaking to Sablo, Evia says, "Unless you're planning on running the Badger back and forth entirely on you own, a modicum of respect is due those who are going into the thick of it."

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia says, "Chalk is to me as shoes are to others."

Sablo draws on the modwir table, sketching the crude image of a tiny goblin.

Sablo says, "Tiny goblin. Little child. Oo, aahh."

Speaking uneasily to Sablo, Tikba says, "That chalk is very expensive."

Sablo draws on the modwir table, sketching the crude image of a bigger goblin with a knife standing over the headless body of an elf.

Speaking to Tikba, Missoni says, "It is not, truly."

Sablo says, "Tiny goblin grows up, cuts off elf's head."

Sablo smirks at Irval.

Bristenn noncommittally mentions, "That is indeed the natural order of things."

Bellaja says, "And humans."

Irval chuckles.

Speaking to Roelon, Falvicar says, "He's clearly not been to the Demon Wall if he's scared of goblins."

Sablo asks, "Do you not think those cooks and blacksmiths and peddlers you saw....are armed?"

Speaking to Sablo, Bellaja says, "They don't discriminate."

Kelfyr says, "That then is a battle we've both chosen."

Speaking drunkenly to Sablo, Gutstorm slurs, "Ye fergot part where goblin child talk bout eat ush."

Irval says, "They were talking about eating and I quote, "oooman's."

Sablo asks, "Do you not think they have a sharp blade or three ready to wedge under your ribs? Or into your eye?"

Speaking dryly to Sablo, Kayse asks, "Do we have to answer your questions since you won't answer ours?"

Lylia says, "We do not discriminate either. If something threatens us and ours, we remove the threat."

Cryheart says, "There are always effects of war, that is war."

Elidal says, "They have valid concerns Commander. We are not in the wilds of Hendor, in the shadow of the Spine."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Well me not ooman, sho me guesh me shafe."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "Those that choose to raise arms against us aren't what we're worried about. It's those who have yet aged enough to make their own choice that we worry for."

Speaking to Sablo, Goldstr exclaims, "We shall see an den do as we mus!"

Mourdeyan says, "The fact seems to be that unless Gnul presents himself with a deed to the forge, there will be casualties on both sides."

Wharwick deeply says, "Some of us took a vow to kill the orcs and trolls."

Speaking drunkenly to Lylia, Gutstorm slurs, "Me like yoo shmell."

Sablo says, "I have killed a child, and I took no pleasure in it. I did not intend it, but it does not matter. I am but a man, and my errors have cost lives."

Sablo nods at Kayse.

Speaking to Wharwick, Stormyrain asks, "You do know that we have an Orc that serves our town, and serves it well yes?"

Speaking to Sablo, Geijon says, "Perhaps you need to know th' history of our locale and th' allies presented to Lord Elidals barony with th' tale of a Walkar Wellington."

Sablo says, "I know all about your Walkar Wellington."

Sablo says, "He killed children too."

Elidal sighs.

Speaking to Sablo, Missoni says, "That little goblin you so artistically drew might grown up an decide to be an ally if they are spared."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Stormyrain, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Geijon turns to face Sablo.

Sablo laughs at Missoni!

Speaking simply to Sablo, Stormyrain asks, "And he's dead. Your point?"

Speaking evenly to Sablo, Kayse says, "We are not that far from each other, Commander. But my choice was willingly and I do not want to make that mistake again."

Sablo says, "No he won't Missoni."

Speaking to Sablo, Geijon says, "Then you know how he died."

Kayse eyes Sablo with a stern expression, her dark sclera reduced to mere slits.

Cryheart says, "The consequences of war, always is brutal."

Sablo says, "Name one goblin ally you've ever known and I'll walk out of this tent right now."

Speaking amusedly to Sablo, Missoni asks, "You have sight like Iliyaas now?"

Irval says, "War is not forgiving. Or is it fair. But make no mistake. This is a war."

Sablo seems to be waiting for something.

Cryheart says, "We had one once."

Cryheart nods at Sablo.

Cryheart says, "Cannae recall his name."

Sablo says, "Don't tell Missoni that."

Sablo smirks.

Speaking melodically to Cryheart, Urpy asks, "Boblin?"

Falvicar asks, "Thrayzar?"

Cryheart says, "No."

Cryheart says, "Thrayzar is an orc."

Tikba says, "That is the orc, I believe."

Thrassus says, "Stiletto or something like that."

Sablo offers Missoni some waxy translucent chalk.

Missoni accepts Sablo's translucent chalk.

Goldstr exclaims, "Ate Our Orc marshal!"

Stormyrain says, "There is a tiny blue eyed goblin that aided myself and several others as we tried to solve the problem in the Academy. I still see him once in awhile. And there was Stilleto."

Falvicar says, "Ohhh right. goblin."

Cryheart says, "Stiletto."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr asks, "We have managed to negotiate some forms of "peace" and deals with "monsters" before. If our desire is long term stability in the region, we need to think of what happens after Gnul is gone. Perhaps the monsters there working their livestock and supplies could one day work for us?"

Cryheart says, "But he left us in anger after we killed goblin children."

Sablo clenches his jaw.

Cryheart says, "I recall that dreadful day."

Lylia asks, "Do you know the names of those you almost certainly slaughtered as you learned your way around a sword or a spell? How many were there?"

Sablo says, "This is madness."

Kelfyr says, "Yes. This is."

Cryheart says, "But, folks...there are always consequences of war."

Sablo says, "We have spent weeks searching out this forge..."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Kin me painta picture fer all yoo. Me not tellin ye how to act or nuttinsh, jush want ye to have all da fact. Imagine yoo tied up and capture. den one dem goblin kid me met lasht night shtart to eatcha. yoo gonna be dokay wit dat? or yoo gonna yell "KILL IT?!"."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Tikba asks, "After we slaughter their friends, you wish to invite them into our home?"

Irval says, "'I agree with that, but these of the forge are actively creating arms to kill us and our children."

Sablo says, "The Baron's brother spent hours crafting your guises..."

Thrassus says, "Unless you plan on somehow also sparing the parents of these younglings they will likely only desire revenge."

Speaking to Cryheart, Kelfyr says, "Consequences you have the chance to choose."

Lylia firmly says, "Listen to this man. He was there." [Gutstorm]

Speaking to Sablo, Missoni says, "I do not dispute that we will do what must be done, I just think some consideration can be spared for the little ones."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Tikba says, "We are choosing it."

Speaking to Lylia, Stormyrain says, "So was Kelfyr and he is speaking from the other perspective."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Do you believe they are "friends" with Gnul? I don't I think many might be forced to work for him and his forces."

Cryheart says, "Folks..aye Kelfyr...dinnae target the children but the ones who intend to do ye harm."

Kayse indifferently speculates, "The toxin itself may kill them. There's no way to determine dosages."

Cryheart says, "Children will die as in any war, I hate to say."

Sablo says, "And now, instead of discussing true strategy...we're trying to save monster babies."

Mourdeyan says, "The consideration is they run away from the battle, if they attack they become casualties."

Roelon deeply says, "It is nae the fault of those children their parents do what they do."

Kelfyr says, "And all we're asking is to attempt to drive out non-combatants."

Speaking to Sablo, Lylia says, "There will be more than enough of us who will do what we must. Let those who fear the pricking of their consciences line the walls or guard this settlement."

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna says, "That's what I said when I found out who Jovery sent to us to lead the Darkstonian Army. Madness."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Meybe Kelfyr like to be lunch, but me know me not tashte to good."

Sablo asks, "Are you hearing this Elidal?"

Sablo peers quizzically at Elidal.

Elidal says, "Commander, I would caution for a measure of calm."

Speaking deeply to Sablo, Wharwick asks, "Who will lead the infiltration? Do we have captains and predetermined groups?"

Tikba says, "There are no noncombatants in Gnul's fortress."

Kelfyr says, "Instead of raging straight through with the rage of blood in our mouths."

Speaking to Sablo, Guarrin says, "Commander, this is a discussion. Yes, they may grow up..."

Speaking to Sablo, Thrassus says, "You aren't hearing any dissent from me."

Speaking to Sablo, Ulfwine says, "'I grew up near the spine and I share your feelings on this. That said, there are some valid concerns being raised."

Elidal says, "These are our alllies, and their concerns are shared by myself."

Lylia says, "The rest of us would rather risk our own sleepless nights than the safety of those we intend to protect -- not nameless goblin whelps, but the people of Wehnimer's Landing."

Stormyrain says, "I don't think anyone is saying we should not go, or we should usher them out..the idea of sending in a light toxin as we arrive, when we're there, to try and mitigate non-combatant deaths is easy, does not preclude our plan and does not stop us from our purpose."

Speaking to Sablo, Perigourd says, "Triage in the center of the cavern. At least two or three groups to search for and destroy the forges. Some of the entrances are wide enough to allow only one at a time so keeping formations may be difficult."

Sablo nods at Perigourd.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Missoni says, "Quite so."

Sablo says, "Now that is strategy."

Sablo points at Perigourd.

Speaking to Sablo, Irval says, "In the end , I will kill them all to protect these lands from the Gnul threat. I will take no pleasure in it. I will burn them like I burned the hatchery. Unsavory as it was. It needed to be done. I may have nightmares. But what soldier who fought in war doesnt. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one..."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Tall folk gotta crawl in shum area."

Speaking deeply to Perigourd, Wharwick says, "The triage post will require guarding as well."

Speaking to Sablo, Raelee says, "... and ice to disable the walls of lightning. In this weather, it will be quite easy to summon."

Kayse lightly says, "Let us hope you don't bring any corpses back from this trip to play with."

Sablo asks, "I won't flap a goblin kid's arms like wings, or spit on a dead kobold baby. Will that quiet your bleeding hearts?"

Guarrin says, "We can likely keep that center area peaceful enough for triage. There are nonviolent methods that can be used facing children, should it come to that."

Speaking to Wharwick, Perigourd says, "All reinforcements will likely traverse it, so it will definitely need some."

Sablo says, "I do not like war. But it is what I know, and what I've been tasked to do."

Speaking to Sablo, Tikba says, "You should not make promises you cannot keep."

Speaking to Wharwick, Perigourd says, "Ours and theirs."

Sablo nods at Raelee.

Bristenn slowly agrees, "Right. Sleeping spells, calming spells. So on."

Sablo says, "Ice, water, we'll need plenty of it."

Evia says, "There are those would look upon the lot of us as the actual "monsters" as the word is being bandied about, and have no qualms to kill us all, including children...interesting perspective. How would we feel about our "monster children"."

Sablo says, "Good thing you mages can do it easy enough."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me lergic to wotter."

Speaking deeply to Perigourd, Wharwick says, "I volunteer to help where I can. I'm not strong in ability but I've my fists and they've yet to fail me."

Speaking to Sablo, Raelee says, "Ice... is plentiful."

Tikba says, "I hope holy water will be sufficient."

Speaking flatly in Sylvankind to Stormyrain, Kayse says something you don't understand.

Kelfyr asks, "Elidal, you command your people here. It is your decision to make. What is to be your legacy?"

Guarrin says, "I would suggest we do not assault all six hovels at once, either."

Perigourd asks, "Will they be able to rebuild the forges after they're destroyed?"

Perigourd asks, "How do we ensure they can't?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Stormyrain mutters something you don't understand.

Lylia says, "That is a useful question."

Speaking drunkenly to Perigourd, Gutstorm slurs, "Gendocide."

Irval says, "Ok say we save the children. What do we do with them? They've eaten of our flesh. They still do. You all dont think that those Kobold butchers were eating rolton in there and complaininig about how that wanted more 'ooman' to eat."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yoo axed."

Speaking mildly to Kelfyr, Tikba says, "I had thought you were a supporter of democracy."

Thrassus says, "I am sure rebuilding them would be a long and taxing process."

Thrassus says, "Not something they can do it a week or two."

Conclusions

Elidal says, "Commander, perhaps it is best if you remain with the camp tomorrow? I worry what danger may lurk when we strike the forges. There is no one better to protect our own women and children."

Thrassus says, "The conflict will likely be over before they can get them working again."

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia muses something you don't understand.

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia flatly says something you don't understand.

Sablo glances at Elidal.

Sablo says, "Elidal you cannot be ser..."

Elidal squints.

Speaking melodically to Gutstorm, Urpy asks, "Murder in service to a cause and murder to prevent furuture foes. How can one be less honorable?"

Sablo nods.

Sablo clenches his jaw.

Mourdeyan says, "Wowsa."

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna asks, "Protecting the camp is part of war, too. Just... not the part you like, yes?"

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr says, "A good isea."

Speaking drunkenly to Sablo, Gutstorm whispers aloud, "Mebbe Enisius got a shpare kobold trinket yoo kin "borrow" if ye git me."

Speaking wryly to Sablo, Bristenn offers, "You'll have my company's company, at least."

Sablo says, "I worked hard to find..."

Sablo clenches his jaw.

Elidal says, "I understand Commander."

Speaking to Sablo, Vaemyr says, "You did, and that work is appreciated."

Speaking to Sablo, Ulfwine says, ""I went in there last night, and will not be joining the assaut but remaining here. It is an honorable task."

Speaking to Sablo, Thrassus says, "There will still be the matter of eliminating Gnul himself after the forges."

Elidal says, "We will see how the tide of war goes. But I know our people would feel far more comforted knowing you and our forces remain here for now, upside."

Sablo glares.

Sablo darkly says, "Very well Lord Elidal. It is your command."

Commander Sablo just went through a tent flap.

Elidal slowly empties his lungs.

Ulfwine says, "He took that well."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We kicked him out him own tent?"

Cryheart says, "Let us hope he calms down a bit."

Elidal says, "I cannot promise no monster child will die. But we may have just saved 50 of them."

Lylia says, "He was not given a choice."

Elidal chuckles.

Speaking to Elidal, Lylia asks, "To what purpose?"

Irval asks, "What are we going to do with those then that we save?"

Kelfyr says, "You allowed them to see that Gnul's tales of terror do not carry truth."

Kelfyr says, "It may help break his alliance."

Urpy melodically says, "He made good points, and I loathe myself for admitting it."

Kayani softly says, "Future rivals."

Lylia asks, "Are we going to save their mothers and fathers too, so they are not orphaned and left to die horribly of starvation and exposure in this biting cold?"

Cryheart says, "To perhaps promote peace in the future."

Irval says, "They've grown on eating the flesh of our people."

Stormyrain says, "I will feel better knowing that Sablo is on standby to aid us if needed. Our second wave."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "We'll do what we need to do, but I think many might feel more confortable under the command of our militia and knights."

Elidal says, "Because true leadership, is hearing, and listening, and building more bridges than we burn."

Speaking to Lylia, Bellaja says, "To gather their hides for the guild."

Elidal nods at Lylia.

Tikba says, "His alliance will be broken with a sharp blow."

Mourdeyan says, "Indeed."

Thrassus says, "Yes, I am sure they will be so greatful for sparing them and allowing them a chance to avenge the parents we slaughter."

(Lylia does not return Elidal's nod, instead gazing at him with a flinty expression.)

Lylia says, "I have built my share of bridges. Sometimes, it is necessary to burn as well."

Speaking to Thrassus, Kelfyr says, "If they choose to do so, I will meet them with a clear conscious."

Speaking to Thrassus, Falvicar says, "Oh no... kobold children will grow up and drool on your leg."

Elidal says, "I have no doubt many orc children will die, but we have struck an accord to try our best. That will please more than divide."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "That's all I, at least, wanted."

Elidal nods.

Perigourd says, "Establishing an order of battle might be wise so we know how we'll be forming."

Falvicar whispers something to Roelon.

Goldstr says, "An when we get der we shall see an do wha mus be done."

Lylia says, "I hope our own efforts are not weakened by keeping one of your strongest military leaders out of the heart of battle."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Axidentsh happen."

Tikba politely says, "When we are in the caverns we will see what must be done."

Irval asks, "So how we going to get the children to come with us? Lure them with a limb o human?"

Wharwick deeply says, "I'm sure Marl will be overjoyed to hear about saving orc children."

Stormyrain says, "That was never the idea."

Speaking to Irval, Ulfwine says, ""I think the hope is that they flee."

Kelfyr says, "We're not evacuating them, we're driving them out ahead of the attack."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Stormyrain, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Irval asks, "Ya? flee from their parents that we are about to massacre?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Guarrin says, "It will depend on our numbers. Perhaps three groups, with a fourth for triage."

Kayse says, "I do not believe we are doing that now. Just hoping they do not get in the way."

Speaking to Perigourd, Guarrin says, "Each one responsible for two tunnels."

Elidal says, "If we spare a life, and it only later returns and we must end it, then we do so. But we gave it a chance. And life is far better with more chances in it."

Raelee quietly says, "... consequences come with every action and inaction. Inaction often brings consequences to be suffered by someone else."

Lylia scornfully says, "Flee, into the cold and the depths of privation as we kill their parents. Because this is merciful."

Speaking to Guarrin, Perigourd says, "They'll each need a means to take down those walls we encountered."

Speaking to Irval, Ulfwine says, ""I am not concerned with them, but many that I respect deeply are."

Speaking to Elidal, Irval asks, "Even the ones that feast on the flesh of "oomans'"?"

Speaking melodically to Elidal, Urpy says, "Some lives are worthy of ending when given the chance."

Tikba says, "The enemies we let live, are enemies."

Goldstr says, "Keep in mind folks, we go to destroy da Forges not go to massacre folks."

Speaking to Lylia, Kelfyr says, "Many of their parents are shepherds, cooks, bakers. They will likely flee as well."

Speaking to Perigourd, Guarrin says, "A mage with each, also, we can load up with water or aqua wands."

Speaking wearily to Elidal, Lylia says, "You are a good man, I know it, but you are so very young."

Elidal says, "We're all guilty of feasting on each other. Words can be sharper and deadlier than steel."

Elidal nods at Irval.

Speaking to Goldstr, Vaemyr says, "Aye that is our goal."

Mourdeyan says, "Indeed."

Kayse murmurs, "Ain't that the truth."

Lylia says, "Yes. The forges are the goal, on that we all may agree."

Cryheart says, "It is the attitudes that guide the words."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "I have heard that from another."

Bellaja says, "And so can decisions. Let us hope the right ones are made."

Mourdeyan says, "And Gnul."

Cryheart says, "So Kay protect and guide us all."

Wharwick deeply says, "The forges are a primary goal, yes. Destroying an enemy force should be a close second."

Cryheart says, "Kai."

Kelfyr says, "The anvils inside the forges are large and enruned. It may take some consideration on how to actually break them."

Speaking to Elidal, Irval asks, "If that is your wish. I will try and see it done. But you do remember what Gnul did with your people after he attacked their wagons? And launched them at our respective areas?"

Tikba calmly says, "Each of us must make the decisions we think right."

Kiyna says, "Let's hope Gnul takes the field so we can take his head and be done with it. Fat chance, though, coward that he is."

Cryheart says, "We hae to defend ourselves, that is understood, but we need to focus on the forges."

Elidal says, "I will not chain Sablo when it the times to hit Gnul."

Elidal nods at Irval.

Guarrin says, "I imagine he will need to get in line for that."

Elidal begins chuckling at Guarrin!

Speaking to Elidal, Irval asks, "Even if he surrounds himself with illokian children?"

Tikba amusedly says, "Hopefully he finds a position of command to be less painful than a chain."

Ulfwine reaches out to pet the autumn-hued kit, but she darts out of reach.

Stormyrain offers, "Harmony is shy." [her fox kit]

Evia says, "Oh for heck sake, blah blah blah."

Irval says, "Because you can be sure that once Gnul see's this. He will try and use this against us."

Elidal says, "The man has been an army of one for most of his life."

Speaking melodically to Irval, Urpy says, "I wouldn't put it past him."

Evia says, "Point me where to go, I know how to conduct myself."

Elidal says, "We must give him time."

Thrassus says, "Stone giant children are still taller and more dangerous than a giantman, so it won't make much difference."

Cryheart says, "Will not fault him for that."

Speaking to Elidal, Tikba agrees, "He is young."

Ulfwine says, "They operate in small units most of the time."

Bristenn slowly reasons, "Hard fighting on the Spine, as well."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Such battles can change a person."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Maybe he'll start throwing chairs out windows, I have heard it is a great coping strategy."

Bristenn slowly adds, "Best not to begrudge the man his experience."

Elidal smirks.

Elidal says, "Goodnight everyone. I should get some rest. You should too. I am sure the battle ahead will be long and challenging."

Urpy melodically says, "Bleeding hearts unite. Trying to save the children of our enemies."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "I do not wish to mix conflicts or priorities, but I wanted to confirm you received my missive regarding Captain Bodohal."

Mourdeyan says, "G'night Lord Elidal."

Elidal nods at Kayse.

Speaking to Elidal, Irval asks, "Will you be around for the assault?"

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr exclaims, "On da morrow Sir!"

Elidal says, "I did, thank you. I have been so focused on Gnul but yes, I will respond."

Elidal nods at Kayse.

Falvicar says, "Fare thee well."

Speaking kindly to Elidal, Tikba says, "Be well, Elidal."

Elidal says, "I will be here at the camp."

Elidal nods at Irval.

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "Understandable, he is the bigger threat at the moment."
