Synopsis

Future Baron Elidal reveals that his date for the beast with Captain Bodohal will be on the first of Olaesta. As for coming caravans, soldiers will be arriving soon after having resupplied in Jantalar, and Commander Sablo and Elidal's parents are set to arrive next week. Aronia looks through the runes on the table to see Melgorehn's Reach, calling it Iliyaas' mountain and asking if she still watches it for hours on end; Elidal shrugs and says he's been too busy.

After Aronia leaves, Elidal says she's not thrilled with Iliyaas being here. Gutstorm implies she sees Iliyaas as competition; Elidal says he has no interest in Iliyaas and she's captured the eye of Sablo, while Aronia and he (Elidal) are merely friends. Goldstr asks if Elidal's learned who was arming the Ember Vale reivers; Elidal had only just heard of it and doesn't know.

He expresses intent to reveal the crest of the Barony of Darkstone in the coming week and asks Xorus if he has theories on how to tame Darkstone Castle, saying Enisius thought he might have some. Before they get deeply into that, though, a page comes in to whisper a message to Elidal, who says some of his settlers are seeking justice against the Ember Vale reivers and he'll need to spend some time reasoning with them. He tells Xorus he looks forward to the magic team's research.

As for the reivers, Elidal says the Ember Vale will find some slight and that's all they need to spark their torch of war; Councilor Kiyna says Warchief Haidan asked the Landing to remain neutral and Elidal asks her thoughts. She says the Landing's been through much and she would keep them from war if she thought she could, but believes the reivers will find an excuse to attack. He says "if we stand by and allow evil to foster, we are not heroes, but merely part of the problem," then says he needs to feed his people reason and wishes everyone good night.

Awaiting Elidal

[General] Elidal thinks, "Good evening."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Evening, Eli."

[General] Kialeigh thinks, "Hello blue-eyes."

[General] Lylia thinks, "Good evening to you."

[General] Bernadette thinks, "Good eve to ye."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Good evening Elidal."

[General] Aronia asks, "They call you blue-eyes now?"

[General] Ouidanna thinks, "Evening."

[General] Elidal asks, "It's new?" [This was originally a slip-up and presented as "GameMaster Kenstrom asks..." I've assumed it was intended as Elidal's reply to Aronia.]

[General] Irval thinks, "Greetings and fair eve to you Lord Elidal."

[General] Goldstr exclaims, "Hail Baron!"

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, a forlorn mountain spirit that is flying around, a fluffy white cat, the Arahnim disk, the Kialeigh disk, an ebullient will-o-wisp spirit that is flying around, the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine, a grizzled giant purple squirrel with onyx black eyes, a tearful wasteland spirit that is flying around, a tiny angular lilac-point kitten, the Margus disk, the Lillyrath disk, a swirled disk of blue and yellow ground cornmeal, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a large acorn, the skull-shaped Irval disk, an old well, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Earthdiver says, "Windy tonight."

Jiarine says, "Mind that wind."

Lunatick says, "Gotta watch out for that wind."

[General] Mourdeyan thinks, "Evenin Lord Elidal, Lady Aronia."

Kialeigh says, "I may or may not be lamenting his gorgeous blue eyes./.."

Kialeigh says, "Stupid wind..."

Speaking to Nyaria, Pukk says, "Join Kayse."

Speaking quietly to Kayse, Nyaria asks, "If i may?"

Kialeigh says, "One second I need to get pretty..."

Lunatick asks, "Who has gorgeous blue eyes?"

Kiyna muses, "This is just as well, I have some choice words for Elidal..."

Lunatick says, "Not him."

Lunatick asks, "Me?"

Irval says, "My eyes are greenish..."

[General] Elidal thinks, "I will be along to my brother's tent soon enough in the camp if any wish to join us."

Kayse says, "She was fawning over Elidal's eyes."

Kayse asks, "Shall we?"

[travel]

[Imperial Campsite]

Smoke coils up from some nearby fire pits as dozens of settlers converge upon a boiling stew pot bordered by several logs. Each passerby helps themselves to the ladle, filling their tin bowl before heading off elsewhere into the camp. Stretching wide in a field across the way is a huge dusty brown canvas pavilion. You also see a steel-roofed huge wooden tower.

Kayse asks, "Is that his tent?"

Tikba says, "I think that is Sablo's."

Mourdeyan says, "Ahh."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Kelfyr says something you don't understand.

Pukk says, "We need Gutstorm tonight to keep things interesting."

Kiyna says, "It's in the north end of the camp."

[The Circle Stone]

Crafted from thick lengths of heavy black leather, the tent's edges sway slightly. A varnished wooden desk is set near the back, with evenly stacked sheets of vellum organized neatly upon it. A rune-etched circular stone table dominates the center of the pavilion, bordered by several wooden stools. Wisps of yellow, green, and cyan smoke curl up from crystal beakers that continuously bubble within a rhimar-lined rack. You also see a fluffy white cat, a grizzled porcupine, the Kelfyr disk, a tearful wasteland spirit that is flying around, a tiny angular lilac-point kitten, a grizzled giant purple squirrel with onyx black eyes, the skull-shaped Irval disk, an ebullient will-o-wisp spirit that is flying around, the Kialeigh disk, a tent flap and a flame-etched glass mirror.

Lunatick says, "Ok."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Kelfyr says something you don't understand.

Irval exclaims, "Close the flap! You're letting the rain in!"

Lunatick says, "Guess i'll figure it out."

Irval exclaims, "Hurry now!"

Kiyna says, "Still magic. Still death. Still a pillar."

Kiyna says, "Still huge."

Tikba asks, "No change?"

Kelfyr says, "Thanks for confirming."

Kiyna says, "Someone has to keep an eye on it."

Mourdeyan says, "He'll be along."

Lunatick says, "Oh."

Lunatick says, "Now i remember."

Lunatick asks, "Something like that?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dey need door on da tent."

Speaking uncertainly to Gutstorm, Tikba says, "Then it would be a house."

Nyaria quietly says, "They let just any ol riffraff in here."

Greetings

Lord Elidal just arrived.

Lady Aronia just arrived.

Elidal begins chuckling at Aronia!

Elidal nods.

Aronia smiles.

Elidal says, "Good evening all."

Vaemyr says, "Evening to you both."

Mourdeyan says, "An t'thee."

Lunatick says, "Ther."

Lylia says, "A drier one in here than out there; we thank you for the hospitality."

Irval says, "Greetings Lord Elidal and Lady Aronia."

Elidal nods at Lylia.

Tikba politely greets, "Elidal. Sister Aronia."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr says, "Evenin Baron."

Aronia smiles at Elidal.

Speaking to Aronia, Geijon says, "Good to see you Sister Aronia."

Elidal says, "Please. I haven't earned that title yet."

Elidal nods at Goldstr.

Irval says, "Coronation still needs to happen."

Irval nods knowingly.

Aronia says, "It will."

Aronia shivers.

Aronia nods at Irval.

Irval says, "So he can wear a fancy hat thing."

Elidal shivers.

Vaemyr says, "Been out in the rain a while? you both seem to be dripping wet."

Irval nods at Aronia.

Elidal says, "I'd rather not have it fancy...no."

Water drips from Elidal's boots, gathering in damp pools around his feet.

Water drips from Aronia's slippers, gathering in damp pools around her feet.

Elidal glances at Vaemyr.

Elidal says, "Sure."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr says, "But Her Ladyship Athalis addressed ye as sech."

Irval asks, "Coronet is it? I think what its called?"

Elidal chuckles.

Aronia smirks at Elidal.

Irval says, "I find bone to be a fitting adornment. If you want suggestions."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna offers, "Right, there's another title you have in the meantime, right? Poten... Potato?"

Speaking to Elidal, Geijon says, "My last few haven't gone well, coronation wise. I'd like to see yours complete."

Mourdeyan says, "Beats a tiara."

Elidal says, "Thank you for keeping me company this night...."

Kialeigh says, "Or fur.. fur is always nice for the season."

Bodohal

Elidal says, "I had wished to formally invite you all to a great feast..."

Mourdeyan says, "Ooooh."

Pukk says, "Feast you say."

Irval asks, "No food?"

Elidal says, "I know we have discussed it, planned it..."

Irval says, "Well im outta here. Just jesting."

Elidal asks, "But, have I declared it truly official?"

Aronia says, "He is bad with formalities."

Aronia nods.

Elidal says, "It is part of my charm."

Elidal nods at Aronia.

Lunatick says, "All of us? 'Cause you may regret inviting me."

Aronia smirks.

Speaking to Aronia, Kiyna says, "That's a good thing."

Lunatick says, "Most people do."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yoo two gitten marry?"

Elidal asks, "Married?"

Elidal says, "No."

Aronia says, "No."

Speaking in Faendryl, Xorus wryly says something you don't understand.

Lunatick asks, "You want to get married though?"

Speaking appreciatively to Elidal, Kayse says, "Thank you for assisting in this..." Kayse wears a pensive expression as she searches for the word, "...situation regarding Bodohal."

Lylia asks, "Can people not host a feast without people expecting a wedding?"

Lunatick says, "Cause i think we have a cleric here somwhere."

Tikba amusedly says, "It is good to be in agreement."

Xorus wryly says, "Feast by imperial decree, let no unspoiled food go unclaimed."

Vaemyr says, "Samfelt did mention the night of Feastday."

Speaking to Lylia, Jiarine says, "It could be a funeral."

Elidal says, "It shall be late in the evening, on Feastday, the 1st of Olaesta."

Kiyna agrees, "Feastday seems like as good a day as any for... you know, a feast."

Speaking lightly to Jiarine, Tikba says, "We hope that it will be."

Elidal says, "We shall have a huge pavilion out, somewhere near your town..."

Nyaria quietly says, "Sorry cant make it that evening, there is pressing events."

Mourdeyan asks, "Or ya just foolin?"

Kialeigh says, "This feast sounds explosive. Sounds fun."

Kayse thoughtfully says, "Day of Zelia's Warning seems like an odd time to pull of this plot."

Elidal says, "All food is being purchased and supplied by local Landing vendors."

Lunatick offers Irval a glass of assassin's poison.

Irval accepts Lunatick's assassin's poison.

Irval sniffs at his assassin's poison.

Lunatick pours himself a glass of assassin's poison.

Lunatick takes a drink from his assassin's poison.

Elidal says, "We have had a tough winter together, I wish to break bread, enjoy a spring feast.."

Elidal says, "I am sure some guests will be present as well."

Irval offers Lunatick a glass of assassin's poison.

Elidal says, "I am to understand a Captain Bodohal may be present."

Lunatick accepts Irval's assassin's poison.

Elidal says, "And away from his ship."

Elidal grins slowly.

Lylia says, "And I am sure they will be made welcome. I have never had occasion to meet the man myself."

Speaking to Lunatick, Irval says, "Best not break poison out in present company."

Mourdeyan says, "Aye, lost a bet with Tennalnen."

Tikba mildly says, "We will be happy to help entertain him at length."

Lylia says, "Nor do I think he has met me. But of course, what a fascinating fellow he seems to be."

Kayse offers, "Perhaps that should be a topic of discussion."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna asks, "Have you given thought to security at this feast? You're aware you have the reivers of the Ember Vale out for your blood, yes?"

Stormyrain whispers something to Vaemyr.

Elidal nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Kiyna, Pukk says, "I don't think the reivers would be good guards."

Irval says, "Reivers aren't the only worry."

Elidal says, "We've soldiers arriving in the coming days, I am unsure if they'll all reach here by Feastday."

Irval says, "Still have the factions of Rooks to contend with."

Jiarine asks, "Are you implying this feast will be come at your own risk?"

Mourdeyan asks, "Is tha commander returning soon?"

Kayse suggests, "We should discuss who will be boarding the ship and who will be staying at the feast, no?"

Elidal says, "Many of them resupplied in Jantalar before making their trip here."

Tikba says, "That is best."

Elidal says, "Commander Sablo is due to return next week with several caravans from the northern and eastern provinces."

Speaking to Jiarine, Lylia says, "I have yet to attend the feast that is not."

Aronia says, "...and your parents."

Elidal says, "...and my parents."

Mourdeyan says, "Good news then."

Elidal nods.

Xorus says, "Just a jaunt away."

Mourdeyan says, "Excellent news."

Lunatick asks, "And my parents?"

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr says, "Many of us will be herar to uard an protect."

Elidal nods at Goldstr.

Elidal says, "Thank you."

Kialeigh says, "Hopefully that's good news.."

Elidal says, "It is."

Speaking to Kayse, Kiyna asks, "It's once again best that those Bodohal knows are associated with the Landing should shy from his view, yes?"

Irval asks, "Are you parents intending on staying within the encampment. Or will they be seeking...other accomadations?"

Elidal nods at Kialeigh.

Aronia smiles at Elidal.

Aronia shrugs.

Kialeigh says, "Then fantastical! Not always the case though."

Lunatick says, "I have a cabin your parents are welcome to rent."

Speaking to Kiyna, Kayse says, "I do not know what is best in that regarding. Elidal can invite who ever he wishes to his feast. Bodohal will have to understand that."

Aronia says, "One of them is quite welcomed."

Aronia smirks.

Kayse adds, "The goal is focusing on the ship and the rescue mission."

Elidal says, "I um, appreciate that? They'll be fine, but thank you."

Elidal nods at Lunatick.

Lunatick nods at Elidal.

Elidal says, "The feast is an open invitation. To become too selective may in fact tip off Bodohal."

Stormyrain whispers something to Kayse.

Kialeigh says, "Yeah I wouldn't trust his rolton decorating.. might give a bad first impression of the terrority."

Elidal says, "Nothing can go into motion if the man does not come."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Fair enough."

Mourdeyan says, "Indeed, he's a ....canny fellow."

Lunatick says, "Not a rolton in sight in there."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse asks, "He was asked to dock at the Black Sands?"

Lylia says, "Of course. This makes sense."

Elidal says, "I believe so? I am unclear."

Elidal says, "Samfelt would know more."

[General] Adelynn asks, "One does not simply make their way to this settlement, huh?"

Aronia stands in front of a rune-etched circular stone table.

Aronia touches a rune along the table and the air shimmers briefly above it, before coils of light burn into view and twist to form the image of Malgorehn's Reach and its surrounding environs.

Kayse says, "We can work out details on Niiman perhaps."

Vaemyr says, "I believe his words were of the effect to come ashore away from Wehnimer's, so most likely on the sands we guessed."

Adelynn brightly says, "Details of what now? Sorry I'm late, I really needed a drink."

Elidal asks, "The table never gets old, does it?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Aronia.

Aronia touches a rune along the table and the air shimmers briefly above it, before coils of light burn into view and twist to form the image of Malgorehn's Reach and its surrounding environs.

Lunatick says, "Everything gets old."

Aronia says, "Iliyaas's Mountain."

Elidal says, "It's not...hers."

Kialeigh says, "Time out."

Adelynn generously offers, "Anyone else want to sample this whiskey? A fine batch, honestly, made by the reivers ..."

Jiarine states, "Some people never get tired of touching things."

[General] Kataric asks, "Which settlement would that be?"

(Raelee raises both eyebrows at Aronia.)

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "I see you're surprised."

Lunatick says, "Can't agree more."

Aronia asks, "Does she still watch it for hours on end?"

Aronia peers quizzically at Elidal.

Elidal shrugs.

Tikba politely says, "Iliyaas did find it interesting."

Kayse bluntly asks, "What is she doing up there?"

Elidal says, "I have not seen her in days. I've been far too busy."

Adelynn amusedly suggests, "Perhaps Lord Elidal?"

Speaking to Adelynn, Udari says, "Not thanks. Those boar ears I ate didn't go down well with my stomach."

Kelfyr asks, "The mountain or its inhabitant?"

Lylia says, "Nor I, and she is such a fascinating person."

Speaking to Adelynn, Goldstr says, "I dink wid Jock many a times, a good folk he be."

Irval says, "To be fair Iliyaas can find something interesting in a grain of dirt."

Tikba says, "She mentioned the mountain. She did not mention its protector."

Aronia waves her hand in a dismissive gesture.

Speaking quietly to Tikba, Raelee says, "... she is not the only one who finds it... interesting."

Xorus says, "There is fascinating dirt in the world."

Aronia says, "I should be off."

Aronia says, "If the garden is to be completed soon."

Elidal nods at Aronia.

Elidal bows to Aronia.

Mourdeyan says, "Fair eve to ya."

Udari says, "Good eve, miss."

Kialeigh says, "A pleasure ta see ya."

Lylia admits, "I have seen some fascinating dirt."

Aronia says, "Imaera's Blessings to you all. May the ground beneath you be verdant."

Lady Aronia just went through a tent flap.

Lylia says, "When we went to the Bleaklands, for instance..."

Irval says, "Life's a garden. Gotta dig it."

Iliyaas

Elidal says, "She is thrilled with Iliyaas being here."

Elidal shrugs.

Kialeigh says, "Unless there's a body buried in there..."

Udari says, "Dirt is dirt. Even when blood is on it."

Elidal says, "I mean...not thrilled."

Elidal chuckles.

Speaking to Kialeigh, Irval says, "But we both know that the best place to hide a body is inside another body."

Lylia diplomatically asks, "Is it a point of professional disagreement?"

Tikba asks, "Did she not expect Iliyaas?"

Speaking to Irval, Kialeigh exclaims, "Well now I know?!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Womin folk shee one nutter as comtepition."

Lunatick says, "And then put that body into another body."

Kiyna says, "I expect it may have something to do with her wandering about in the nude."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse asks, "What is her problem with Iliyaas?"

Kialeigh says, "Now I'm an accomplice."

Elidal begins chuckling at Gutstorm!'

Lylia coolly says, "We do not, at least no more so than any men do."

Elidal says, "They are not competition."

Elidal chuckles.

Mourdeyan agrees with Lylia.

Elidal says, "I have no interest in Iliyaas in...that fashion. Besides, she has captured the eye of our little monster Sablo. That is not an ire I wish to draw."

Speaking to Irval, Mourdeyan asks, "Like nest dolls?"

Elidal says, "...and Aronia and I are merely friends."

Speaking to Mourdeyan, Lylia says, "Look at us, agreeing with one another. Shameless."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hehe, friendsh."

Elidal says, "I'm trying to recall what she said...."

Lunatick asks, "So she's single then?"

Elidal ponders.

Tikba mildly says, "I wish them joy."

Elidal says, "Unnatural."

Mourdeyan says, "Indeed."

Elidal nods.

Kiyna says, "...Sablo and Iliyaas? I wonder if he could get her to look at him instead of past him."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, ""Friends" huh."

Speaking drunkenly to Raelee, Gutstorm slurs, "Nudge da mirror."

Irval says, "Scuse me one moment."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Raelee says, "... not right now."

Speaking wryly to Elidal, Tikba says, "A harsh word, from a sister of Imaera."

Elidal nods at Tikba.

Speaking to Kiyna, Stormyrain says, "I rather would imagine it is through, or into...from the limited time I've spent in proximity to her."

Elidal shrugs.

Pukk says, "Well that was funny."

Adelynn casually remarks, "I've heard Sablo is rather nice to look at, as well."

Elidal says, "Iliyaas has always been kind to me, and very raw and truthful. She has wisdom, even in her nightmares."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Kiyna says, "She tries to look -into- me, I'll clobber her."

Elidal says, "I do not expect Aronia to see what I see, not yet."

Elidal says, "Our sight is limited when we cannot yet see everything before us."

Ember Vale

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse inquires, "Do you know why she is spending so much time on the Reach?"

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr asks, "Has ye any word on who be supplyin da Vale Clan wid wepons?"

Udari says, "Thats called being blind."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Now you're talking like a Zelian."

Speaking impishly to Goldstr, Adelynn says, "It's me."

Speaking thoughtfully to Elidal, Tikba asks, "Is there something that you have seen that Aronia has not yet?"

Elidal asks, "I just learned this night, of the Vale reivers getting mithril armaments, yes?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Goldstr.

Speaking to Adelynn, Goldstr says, "Den ye has became me foe."

Elidal says, "I am unsure the source. I understand it's being...looked into."

Speaking brightly to Elidal, Adelynn exclaims, "Yes, I sold them some!"

Irval says, "It is indeed true. Thadston broke another set of windows."

Kialeigh says, "Yeah, that was a messy bit of news."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Rheshay gotta mifril claidhmore, dat all da mifril me shawed."

Nazarr says, "The mayor announced it last night."

Udari says, "We are lucky. Mothril doesnt make the best weapons."

Lylia murmurs, "The mayor said something of this last night, yes."

Elidal says, "She has not been on the Reach to my knowledge? Just near it? I am not certain."

Elidal shrugs at Kayse.

Udari says, "That poor desk."

Speaking affably to Elidal, Adelynn says, "I'm working on getting them some vultite, but don't worry, I'd be happy to sell your men some dwarven-made rolaren blades."

Speaking politely to Elidal, Tikba says, "She was atop the Reach one night. We visited her there, some time ago."

Speaking to Udari, Kelfyr says, "It beats stolen steel and sharpened antlers by a stretch."

Tikba says, "Perhaps she did not mention it."

Elidal says, "Oh..."

Elidal shrugs at Tikba.

Kialeigh says, "Honestly, just release some rolton midwar and they'll run after em."

Elidal peers quizzically at Adelynn.

Kialeigh says, "Like other people."

Elidal asks, "...excuse me?"

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "I think she's probably been atop there, a few times."

Elidal asks, "Are you making a jest?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Adelynn.

Adelynn impishly replies, "Depends how much silver is being offered."

Adelynn tilts her Reiver's whisky side to side, making the light play off it.

Adelynn appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Elidal says, "You're welcome to leave."

Lylia notes, "According to the unique nature of the Landing as a protectorate, and the warlike attitude of the Ember Vale toward this Imperial settlement..."

Elidal nods at Adelynn.

Speaking to Adelynn, Goldstr asks, "Ye supply any side/ Wis no Honor?"

Adelynn politely replies, "I know, but thank you for the pleasant reminder."

Lylia asks, "Has anyone recalled the Northern Sentinel's words on aiding and empowering Imperial enemies?"

Elidal says, "Arming our enemies...those who have murdered some of my people...is not a matter I take lightly."

Speaking to Lylia, Kelfyr says, "I think normally it'd require a specific declaration, but since Thadston declared the town at war with them alongside the settlement..."

Lylia smiles with delight and says, "Ah, clearly Lord Elidal recalls these words."

Mourdeyan says, "Nor many of us."

Lylia says, "I should have a copy lying about somewhere..."

Speaking soothingly to Elidal, Adelynn says, "Now, now, I offered to arm your people as well."

Lylia says, "Oh, here. I took the liberty of transcribing it."

Mourdeyan says, "Yer for sale to the highest bidder then."

Elidal says, "I am sorry, if your father never loved you, or your mother never hugged you. But coming in here, boasting of your intention, or perhaps a past tense action of arming butchers of my people..."

Elidal glances at Adelynn.

Elidal says, "It is sickening."

Speaking to Adelynn, Goldstr exclaims, "Den ye jess a lil Amos!"

Mourdeyan says, "Bad form."

Jiarine murmurs, "Finally, someone more offensive than I in a single sitting."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Amos did it."

Adelynn giggles at Jiarine.

Kialeigh says, "I doubt someone who was doing it would so brazenly just announce it in front of the opposing side."

Lylia asks, "Now, would this run afoul of 'responding accordingly in relation to the severity of the threat to imperial interests,' or would it apply to 'said regulations running contradictory to the established laws, well-being and interests of the Turamzzyrian Empire,' do you think?"

Speaking pleasantly to Jiarine, Adelynn says, "I am happy to not disappoint."

Elidal says, "I would have thought that too Kialeigh, months ago."

Kialeigh's cheeks flush with a soft shade of apricot.

Elidal says, "I've learned over the last few weeks, brazen is a tradition in the north."

Irval says, "Murdered allies and friends is never something to take lightly. Nor to make joke in jest about it. Thadston made that very clear last night. Some of us risked life and limb to save these people and count them as friends. I do."

Speaking mildly to Elidal, Tikba agrees, "Yes."

Lunatick says, "Hard to argue with that."

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "Surely, numerous provisions of it."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "I have learned from you about citing sources."

Lunatick says, "For example i'm brazenly not wearing anything special at this time."

Lylia acknowledges, "Silvean used to insist on that as well."

Elidal sighs.

Speaking to Kialeigh, Adelynn asks, "Was it not discussed by that elven fellow yesterday that it would be profitable to openly extend support to both sides of this conflict?"

Adelynn absently muses, "I can't recall the fellow's name for the life of me, though ..."

Lunatick says, "I'll shush."

Lylia says, "Some jests are in ill humor in some company and not in others."

Speaking honestly to Adelynn, Kialeigh says, "I don't think either of the people I've heard you mention it to have been too happy about it."

Elidal says, "Let us move on from sickening people and depraved behavior..."

Mourdeyan says, "Wasn't discussed with tha principals evidently, or common sense."

Barony's Crest

Elidal says, "I am excited to announce that in the coming week, we intend to reveal the official crest of the Barony of Darkstone."

Elidal smiles.

Lunatick says, "I'm neither sickend nor depraved."

Irval asks, "Has it been selected?"

Speaking to Kialeigh, Adelynn counters, "In fairness, Mayor Andrews is rarely happy about anything."

Elidal says, "I may be more excited about it than most, but, I thought to share."

Speaking to Elidal, Bellaja says, "In the midst of all of this I'm glad that's settled."

Udari says, "Im sure its township and bay will thrive."

Elidal nods at Bellaja.

Elidal nods at Irval.

Speaking to Adelynn, Kialeigh says, "True.. i did almost get pancaked by a desk..."

Pukk says, "A castle with a field of roltons around it."

Tikba politely says, "I am sure we will all be interested to see it."

Mourdeyan says, "M'sure I will."

Lunatick says, "Hope it's a nude giantman lounging seductively."

Udari says, "A beacon of hope and safety overlooking the landing."

Lunatick says, "What? it would be a good symbol of the Landing."

Lylia says, "I thought we already had that in Darkstone Castle."

Speaking to Lunatick, Kialeigh says, "Let's hope it's something tasteful... hopeful not chartreuse..."

Tikba mildly says, "I fear it is the Landing that has been the beacon of hope and safety thus far."

Mourdeyan says, "An tha Landing wasn't built in a day."

Speaking to Lylia, Udari says, "I think they still need to figure out how to cleanse that place first, ma'am."

Speaking to Tikba, Lylia says, "You have the right of that, and I for one am proud to see it."

Elidal says, "Ah, Darkstone Castle."

Udari says, "Then comes the remodeling."

Elidal says, "One step at a time."

Elidal grins.

Speaking to Udari, Lylia says, "That depends on how well you like the harbingers of Sheru."

Speaking curiously to Elidal, Adelynn says, "I actually genuinely want to know, what prompted the empire to annex territory so close to Wehnimer's Landing? Practically a stone's throw."

Xorus says, "That castle was haunted long before Estrion took it over."

Elidal turns away from Adelynn, ignoring her.

Adelynn smirks.

Elidal asks, "And you think it unbreakable?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Xorus.

Tikba politely says, "We will not know how well we like them until we can speak to them."

Elidal asks, "It's curse. The darkness within?"

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee says, "No magic is impermiable."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr exclaims, "Darkstone be cursed be Estrion's Folly!"

Udari says, "Anything is possible, baron."

Mourdeyan says, "To tha very bedrock it'd seem."

Xorus says, "It is difficult to know. Haunted places can be difficult to uncurse wholly."

Elidal points at Raelee.

Elidal says, "Precisely what my brother said."

Elidal nods at Raelee.

Elidal says, "All magic bends."

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee says, "There is a distinct difference between incredibly difficult and impossible."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "The problem is the cost of doing so."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Raelee yoo brudder too?"

Earthdiver says, "And the price of failure."

Udari says, "Its more to the point that how many souls and resources are you willing to lose to obtain the castle."

Lunatick says, "What's wrong with the castle as is? Everything in there is contained. It's not like anyone wants to live there anyway. Not with the Landing so close."

Tikba calmly says, "Great rewards may require great efforts."

Vaemyr says, "Or sacrifices..."

Irval says, "They wish to live there Lunatick."

Irval says, "They will if I have anything to do with it."

Speaking to Elidal, Kelfyr says, "Many things bend, until their breaking point."

Elidal says, "One can never be too certain, or be so easy to bow to a challenge. By year's end, we could dine in Darkstone."

Lylia says, "You already could, depending on what you are willing to eat."

Lunatick says, "I mean, it's not really fair to just evict the current residents."

Bernadette softly says, "Dey even has an IronMaiden fer fun."

Lunatick says, "They've been there for a long time."

Udari says, "I say build a new one across the way so the enemies either have to face that cursed castle or the fury of the Darkstonia castle guns."

Kialeigh says, "As long as we don't have to jump off cliffs anymore... or get in torture devices."

Adelynn wryly asks, "This concerns no one? Imperials establish a settlement practically down the road from the Landing, and now want to set up a stronghold in a nearby castle?"

Elidal smirks.

Vaemyr says, "I mean, we could do so much sooner than that, if ye wished to do so in a cabain we setup inside."

Nazarr says, "I think that the massive troll kings and the banshees might object to your occupancy, Baron."

Kialeigh says, "That doesn't bode well..."

Irval says, "Trollkings, Banshee's, Centaurs, Kiramon, stone gargoyles of variety. Mein golems..."

Lunatick asks, "Why are you concerned?"

Irval says, "I for one am tired of the kidnapping children there."

Speaking to Adelynn, Udari says, "Its happening. That has already been pushed into motion."

Adelynn wonderingly murmurs, "They really *are* all sheep."

Irval asks, "You know what a pain it is to climb that cliff face?"

Elidal asks, "But you have theories, on how to tame the castle, don't you Xorus?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Xorus.

Pukk says, "It involves magic."

Xorus says, "The previous haunted things of the castle were banished in some fashion. After all."

Lunatick says, "You ever been to River's Rest? that's part of the Empire and it seems to be doing just fine."

Speaking to Irval, Kialeigh says, "It's infested with bugs too.."

Adelynn whispers something to Kelfyr.

Elidal says, "My brother seemed to think you might."

Udari says, "Kiramon too."

Bernadette softly asks, "Ye tink Sheruvian might be objectin?"

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr says, "I donna think da new Barony would really like to fight da magics in da Casrle."

Lylia affectionately says, "I would be shocked if he did not."

Udari says, "I hated those shelled mofos."

Mourdeyan says, "I think it's a fun warmup."

Speaking to Lunatick, Kayse says, "The Empire has learned to leave River's Rest alone. It is a place for misfits and smugglers to go. An unwritten rule that River Rats will not be touched."

Adelynn hesitantly echoes, "Mofo?"

Irval says, "Could always just position all the pylons, and level the place and build anew."

Speaking hesitantly to Udari, Adelynn asks, "I am unfamiliar with this term ... is it a Faendryl term?"

Lunatick says, "Well, the Harbs are in the lowest most hidden part of the castle. you could take over the whole rest and just leave them there, they probably wouldn't even notice."

Udari says, "I like to shorten words. Words are hard, okay."

Tikba mildly says, "As the Ta'stry'noi reminded us some months ago, it is unwise to level the anchor of a stable mana storm."

Tikba says, "It might become an unstable mana storm."

Adelynn whispers something to Kelfyr.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Thinkin hard too, cordin to Dwi."

Kialeigh says, "We could put a very tasteful bone throne in the tallest tower."

Irval says, "I do need me a throne of bone."

Speaking to Tikba, Earthdiver says, "The price of failure."

Speaking to Irval, Udari says, "It suits you."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Ember Vale has a lake of the things, take what you need."

Movements

A lively page comes running in, lifting open the flap with flimsy arms and almost tripping on his too long breeches. He whispers something into Elidal's ear and darts off, awkwardly.

Elidal frowns.

Irval exclaims, "Whoa! Someone get that page a seamstress!"

Lunatick asks, "What if we collect all of the swords of all the people the empire kills and make a throne outta that?"

Speaking in Guildspeak, Gutstorm drunkenly slurs something you don't understand.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Not good news, then."

Elidal smiles at Shinann.

Lylia says, "Ah, Ember Vale, Valley of Seven Stinks."

Kialeigh asks, "Did they steal more roltons?"

Elidal looks over at Kiyna and shakes his head.

Elidal says, "Some of our settlers...."

Elidal says, "Rumblings of them seeking justice."

Speaking to Lylia, Adelynn says, "I thought it was rather beautiful up there."

Irval asks, "Against?"

Tikba shortly says, "Ah."

Elidal says, "Nothing done yet, thank goodness. I will have to spend some time reasoning with them."

Speaking in Guildspeak, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse asks, "Justice....?"

Elidal says, "Reivers."

Xorus says, "The storm would be the most important thing to tame, the denizens could be mostly forced out. They were causing chaos around this region before they were brought into the castle."

Mourdeyan asks, "Justice?"

Kialeigh says, "They did kidnap kids."

Irval says, "And murder their parents."

Speaking to Elidal, Udari says, "Tell them to save their energy. The reivers will be here soon enough."

Elidal says, "Justice for Ethan and Rae. For the shepherds. For the wagon."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dey got dere rolton and and lilunsh back, no foul no harem."

Lunatick asks, "Want me to talk to 'em?"

Kialeigh says, "For Slowpoke..."

Lunatick says, "I can be persuasive."

Adelynn whispers something to Kelfyr.

Elidal nods at Xorus.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna asks, "Your hunters, as well. The Troll's Claws, I think they called themselves?"

Lylia dismissively says, "I do not find charnel-houses, goat pastures, and the allium reek of unwashed armpits beautiful, but I acknowledge that tastes may vary."

Tikba mildly says, "You must persuade them to wait until the soldiers arrive."

Elidal says, "I look forward to the magic research team's work."

Elidal nods at Xorus.

Irval says, "Haidan apparently killed those responsible. But I think it was for show and that he actually intiated the attack and is now trying to play the part of ignorant."

Xorus nods at Elidal.

Elidal says, "There's much to be learned from the chaos of the castle and the reach."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "I think that is something they should wait for Sablo to handle and take care of."

Kialeigh says, "They're coffee was very lumpy."

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee asks, "... and speaking of the research, why are we in this tent?"

Elidal nods at Vaemyr.

Adelynn whispers something to Kelfyr.

Elidal says, "It was raining."

Elidal nods at Raelee.

Elidal says, "And I was already cold from swimming."

Elidal chuckles.

Elidal asks, "Do you all stand out in the rain ALL the time?"

Kiyna offers Elidal a ball of red fire.

Speaking to Elidal, Lylia says, "It may assuage their ire to know that the reivers directly responsible for the murder and abductions were already slain."

Elidal accepts Kiyna's red fire.

Speaking to Raelee, Kialeigh says, "Yeah it's stormy out there.. don't want anyone getting blown over."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr exclaims, "Learned aye but both Verra Dangerous!"

Elidal smiles at Kiyna.

Udari says, "You need to upgrade to a wooden structure, Baron."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Warm you right up."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse counters, "Do just friends take moonlit swims alone?"

Mourdeyan says, "Cause in here, is bettern out there."

Kelfyr asks, "Do they know which Reivers their ire should focus on? Or are they looking for any Reiver they can find?"

Lylia admits, "It is a rather common occurrence."

Speaking helpfully to Elidal, Adelynn explains, "Well, they *are* all sheep."

Kayse appears to be struggling to keep a straight face as she glances at Elidal.

Elidal begins chuckling at Kayse!

Speaking to Elidal, Pukk says, "When it starts raining we all gather in one place and stare up at the sky."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Water proof cloaks and magical fire help quite a bit to handle most any weather."

Speaking to Elidal, Irval says, "Most of us have lived in the frontier for a long time. We like to think of the rain as liquid sunshine. If you believe it enough you might almost feel the warmth...almost..."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Lylia says, "That is a good point. Reivers are remarkably difficult to distinguish from one another without better knowledge of them."

Speaking to Pukk, Nazarr says, "That's--regrettably accurate."

Kialeigh says, "I usually just get a parasol.. but that would have ended worse with the wind."

Elidal asks, "Were all of the reivers punished? Even for the shepherds?"

Elidal asks, "For Ethan and Rae?"

Mourdeyan says, "Think not."

Speaking to Pukk, Goldstr exclaims, "Sky now be yer Pukk! Da Handmaidens!"

Vaemyr says, "Just the group that took the kids."

Elidal says, "But, it doesn't matter."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "I was unclear personally of that. I think it was just the children."

Speaking to Elidal, Kelfyr says, "The ones responsible no longer reside in the Bheinn."

Nazarr says, "The killers were punished. Not all of them did the killing."

Speaking to Elidal, Adelynn says, "Flayed and strung up on their wall, but I believe it was only the kidnappers."

Elidal says, "I will work to keep my people calm and settled."

Lylia admits, "I do not know. Their leader specified the ones responsible for abducting the children."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Those other attacks they just considered "incidents"."

Elidal says, "They cannot form some mob and take to the field."

Elidal says, "Or we'll bury more of them."

Speaking to Elidal, Tikba says, "You must do better than that. You must keep them safe."

Lylia says, "I do not know if they are the same agitators who committed the other affronts."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Iff killin da few of dem shame ash be punichmint, den yah, dey punched."

Elidal lets the sanguine red fire roll around the palm of his right hand.

Irval says, "Im not sure of that. But there was flayed reiver bodies displayed for us to see. But know that they still wish you ill and those who stand with you."

Kialeigh says, "Pitchforks aint gonna do no good against those mithril claidhmores."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Leave the fighting to the experts in that matter."

Elidal nods.

Elidal says, "We'll have soldiers soon enough, and between them, and your continued aid and defense....the reivers may soon see war is not their best option."

Irval says, "We can only hope for peace but prepare for war."

Irval shrugs.

Elidal nods at Irval.

Adelynn wryly repeats, "Our continued aid and defense."

Bellaja says, "Yes.. we need more fighters to threaten them."

Lylia dismissively says, "They have become what they most often fight, and they are but remnants of something greater. If there are cinders, you dust them away from the hearth; they are just the ashes of a better people."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr exclaims, "Aye But jees dat Clan!"

Lunatick says, "You know, you could move to elfland."

Lunatick says, "Less Empire there."

Elidal says, "Poetic, and dark."

Elidal nods at Lylia.

Elidal says, "What I've come to expect from you."

Elidal chuckles.

Adelynn sarcastically says, "That's certain to dissuade a people whose culture is based entirely around war and raiding, yes."

Lylia begins chuckling at Elidal!

Lylia nods appreciatively.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "You should be aware, the reivers have asked us to stand aside. Not become involved."

Mourdeyan says, "Elaquan....it was pertyl."

Xorus says, "One of the reasons I married her."

Elidal says, "I have learned that...there is value in considering the motivation of one's enemy."

Kelfyr says, "A people who are scared and hungry and threatened."

Lylia says, "I appreciate that. And I hope Bodohal will likewise find my conversation engaging."

Elidal says, "Even Gnul."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "There is something behind them, that will be a threat to us if it's not dealt with, someone pushed them to go this far, I think much like Gnul was pushed to do what he did."

Speaking drunkenly to Elidal, Gutstorm slurs, "Datta neat lil ball'o'fire."

Adelynn whispers something to Bellaja.

Tikba mildly says, "They are people, like other people. They came a long way, fleeing a catastrophe, just as your settlers came from Talador."

Nazarr says, "They won't be 'reasonable.' They're fierce and proud, and they see what they are doing as defending their home against invaders. That would be you, Baron."

Speaking to Xorus, Pukk asks, "I thought you married her for the blood?"

Speaking to Elidal, Irval says, "If you ask me, The whelp of the Hag intends to pick up where his mother left off."

Speaking firmly to Lunatick, Adelynn says, "And I will not be moving, Wehnimer's Landing is my home for a reason."

Elidal says, "Let's be very clear, there are many reivers who wish us no conflict, and we the same to them. The border doesn't even reach them."

Elidal nods at Tikba.

Speaking to Adelynn, Lunatick asks, "Because you like being near the Empire?"

Lylia notes, "My people also traveled a great way, but there was no home made for them when they arrived. It did not make us into brutes."

Elidal says, "The Ember Vale? They seek war, you've all said it yourself."

Adelynn whispers something to Bellaja.

Irval says, "So did they."

Irval says, "Unless you moved back."

Elidal says, "They will find some slight that is all they need to spark their torch of war."

Lylia says, "Their leader pointed out he was not a 'Warchief' for nothing. Not called a 'Peace-chief.'."

Speaking to Elidal, Kialeigh says, "They've already declared they're at war with you.. and anyone else who stands with ya."

Elidal says, "If the battle can be won with words...I would welcome it."

Vaemyr says, "Maybe later."

Elidal says, "I am young, but not naive."

Vaemyr says, "It won't be won with words currently."

Elidal says, "I know that there will be conflicts in life that no words can mend."

Kelfyr says, "Have you sought out their leaders before now? They've come here before with messages."

Kayse measuredly says, "Haidan does not seem he wishes to negotiate."

Xorus says, "I believe they call such verbal fights 'flyting'."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna repeats, "We were approached by reivers from the Ember Vale - their warchief, in fact - and asked to remain neutral."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Mourdeyan says, "An threats."

Elidal says, "My goal is to keep my people safe, your people safe, and still keep some control of Sablo."

Kialeigh says, "The reivers seem to believe any changing of ones mind, any waivering at all is weakness."

Speaking to Elidal, Adelynn suggests, "Perhaps they are merely sensible enough to be wary of a large, armed power seizing territory so close to their own lands."

Speaking evenly to Lylia, Tikba says, "Many of us have come along difficult paths. It is best not to judge the paths of others."

Elidal asks, "And what are your thoughts in this, neutrality?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Kiyna.

Elidal says, "Yours, individually. Not as a council."

Kiyna nods at Elidal.

Speaking to Mourdeyan, Kelfyr says, "No, they came with statements and requests. The threats came after they were unheard and ignored."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr asks, "We will put sown da Vale! Can You ive da good Reiver Village yer word dey nae worry bouts der freedom?"

Speaking mildly to Elidal, Tikba says, "I will allay your concerns. There is no desire for peace."

Pukk says, "I think the reiver would actually respect Sablo on the field of battle."

Adelynn whispers something to Bellaja.

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia replies, "It may be best not to judge others' paths, but choosing that path is not the only path."

Kialeigh says, "If the spiders didn't kill everyone first."

Kialeigh says, "Mists of red all over the battle fields."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "I think our people have been through much recently. We only recently put everything back together after Gnul's attack, but that is only buildings, not lives. If I thought I could keep them from this war, I think that I would."

Adelynn whispers something to Bellaja.

Lunatick says, "Speakin' of battle fields."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "But I don't think that's possible. I believe the reivers will find some excuse to attack."

Elidal asks, "But you cannot, can you?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Kiyna.

Elidal nods.

Elidal says, "Precisely."

Nazarr says, "At least one of the reivers--a sculptor--said that the warchief was not who we had to fear. Spider Tyeid was. Their shaman."

Adelynn whispers something to Bellaja.

Vaemyr says, "There's very little reason to suspect the next Shepereds or couple in a field, or wagon, would not be from Wehnimer's."

Tikba mildly says, "It is always easy to find a reason for doing that which you wish to do."

Lylia says, "Quite true."

Tikba says, "As I said, you have nothing to fear. The Landing does not desire peace."

Adelynn whispers something to Bellaja.

Speaking to Nazarr, Vaemyr says, "Agreed that I think Tyeid needs to be delt with, all the people of their camp mentioned his great hunger, and what better way to feed than war."

Speaking frostily to Tikba, Adelynn says, "Speak for yourself."

Irval says, "Mystery meat."

Elidal says, "If we stand by and allow evil to foster, we are not heroes, but merely part of the problem. Whether you plant the soil, or watch the seeds grow, you are part of the experience."

Speaking mildly to Adelynn, Tikba says, "I have."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Da trick ish to appear up an up for all to shee, but realishtically, one nodubby nookin, when ye do da shady shtuff and pretend ye knowed nuffin when folk axed ye anythink."

Kialeigh says, "Maybe Haidan has onnae those gross spiders in him.... controlling him..."

Speaking to Tikba, Adelynn says, "We have no place in this war between reivers and imperials."

Speaking to Elidal, Goldstr says, "We help get yer Barony set up, Keeps our neighbors land free please."

Mourdeyan says, "Reason, at last."

Elidal says, "The hour is late. I should see to some of the townspeople, make some rounds and visit some families. To hear their anger, and try to feed them reason."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wash it down witta ale too."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Try to urge caution, let your Soldiers and Sablo handle things."

Elidal says, "Goodnight everyone. Thank you for your company. I will never grow tired of it."

Kelfyr says, "I just hope they understand that, if their ire faces the wrong direction, they double their foes."

Elidal nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Elidal, Lylia says, "I wish you luck. If it helps to know about the deaths of some of them, at least, then share that. It may soothe some hearts."

Lord Elidal just went through a tent flap.
