Synopsis

Future Baron Elidal greets people over thoughts and says he's in Commander Sablo's tent to hear about the contact made with the reivers the night before. People gather there, where he's saying that he gave Sablo the courtesy of an invitation to come, but didn't require his presence since none of this is his decision.

People fill him in on the details of the previous night. Elidal says it's promising that Haidan is open to an exchange and agrees that Sablo won't enter the Vale or disrupt the exchange, then asks if Haidan will provide Aronia is unharmed. Some say they believe Haidan saying she's unharmed.

However, Elidal says he doesn't wish to take Rheshay to the Vale and wants an exchange elsewhere on neutral territory, like Wehnimer's Landing. Some raise an objection to endangering Landing citizens. Alternatives such as the Voln monastery, the sea, and the area around the Obsidian Tower are raised, though Elidal says krolvin activity has increased recently and that the Obsidian Tower hasn't acted on the chance he gave them to have their land to themselves.

During more back and forth, the idea is raise of using the Vale after all and Elidal asks about the possibility of him going along to the Vale to show that he's genuine and not trying to prepare a trap. Others try to dissuade him, but he says the reivers respect boldness and bravery. He says he's willing to make peace with Haidan if it's possible and he doesn't want their lands.

Eventually Alosaka says that the Faendryl own land nearby and asks if Xorus and Lylia would be willing to suggest a neutral site; Lylia says the Alabaster Spite would be a suitable place. Elidal says that's close to their lands and beyond the territory the Empire has claimed, then considers that the Silver Gryphons' Holding is nearby as well and maybe he could station soldiers there. Others say that might raise Haidan's suspicions; Elidal says he can use a slow buildup and get help from Enisius (presumably his illusions).

Lylia and Xorus agree to Elidal's proposal with the Spire, at the least. Elidal also says he'll speak with Enisius about an idea Magister Raelee had proposed earlier to take advantage of entering the Vale to gather information.

Finally, Elidal asks everyone to deliver a proposal that he wants to speak with Haidan and convey that he's willing to make peace with the Ember Vale and discuss any options for achieving that instead of destroying the Vale entirely over time with heavy losses on all sides.

Log

Convening With Elidal

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Faest disk, the Disquiet disk, the Emperia disk, the ivy-trimmed Aspyre disk dotted with clusters of Imaera's Lace, the Addex disk, the Mihorkan disk, the Falleria disk, the Donitla disk, a large acorn, the Endargon disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a sinuous bone white serpent that is sitting, a flagon of fiery Rhoska spirits, the Teutalalla disk, the Budroux disk, a pair of tall carved modwir poles supporting a festively painted banner, a path of particolored asters leading northwest, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it and an old well.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Lord Axanders, Faest who is sitting, Disquiet who is sitting, Stormyrain, Markx, Emperia, Great Lady Aspyre, Addex who is kneeling, Falleria, Donitla, Endargon, Teutalalla, Budroux

Golden flecks of light cascade down from the sky, fluttering on the cool winds like metallic fireflies before dissolving into the night.

[General] Dwi happily thinks, "Look it's Cappin Stormypants!"

Leafiara optimistically exclaims, "I'm sure that could only bode well!"

Emperia asks, "We're going to wind up at that lake again, aren't we?"

[General] Dwi thinks, "Uh oh...she dont like bein called dat."

Speaking amusedly to Emperia, Leafiara admits, "Maybe."

[General] Guennwhfar asks, "Cappn stormypanties?"

[General] Directed to Guennwhfar, Dwi thinks, "Gonna gitcha zapp'd...jus sayin."

[General] Elidal thinks, "Good evening."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "Fair Eve."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Evening."

Leafiara says, "I take it back."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "Merry eve, Elidal."

Leafiara recites:

"Everyone join... uh... there's almost nobody here... so just head to the camp?"

[General] Guennwhfar thinks, "I doubt she can do me anything; she will never see me, I have 303 ranks hiding."

[General] Elidal asks, "I understand there's been contact with the reivers?"

[General] Lylia thinks, "Good evening to you."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "There has indeed."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "Haidan came last night to speak of an exchange."

[General] Elidal thinks, "I'm in Sablo's tent within the campsite if you would join me."

Leafiara wryly says, "Oh, yes, excellent place to choose."

Leafiara says, "Welp, onward then."

[General] Dwi thinks, "Bah...summer is too stoopid to know it's started."

[travel]

Stormyrain says, "Not sure where his tent is."

Blades says, "Lots of soldiers."

[Sablo's Pavilion]

Dark brown walls of canvas are pulled taut along several wooden posts, providing a wide center floor for the command pavilion. A large cot occupies one corner, a heavy ermine blanket tossed haphazardly upon it. Dominating the middle of the tent is a huge modwir table littered with dozens of maps, carved wooden miniatures, empty scroll tubes, and a shrunken skull paperweight. You also see a concerned wasteland spirit that is flying around, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, an animated flayed gigas disciple and a tent flap.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Tikba, Preservationist Perigourd, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Lord Elidal

[Drakes] Dwi thinks, "Nasty weadder... maybe find a group."

Elidal nods at Leafiara.

Tikba asks, "Will the Commander be joining us?"

Elidal says, "Word was sent to him, but I do not know if he'll come."

Elidal says, "I did not require him."

Elidal says, "None of this is his decision in the end."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd asks, "Was he asked to come?"

[General] Stormyrain asks, "Where is Sablo's tent?"

Elidal says, "I gave him the courtesy of an invitation."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "West of the trail leading in, the pavilion."

[General] Blades thinks, "Shes worse than a bloody weedmage."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "West of the entrance to the camp and into the pavilion there."

[General] Chamorr asks, "We gonna burn it down?"

Tikba wryly says, "And, after all, he might appear in any case, as we are meeting in his tent."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "As some of us are in it, I should hope not."

[General] Directed to Perigourd, Dwi asks, "Where's da trail...anna fer dat madder where's da pabillion?"

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain mutters, "I am not worse than a ranger."

Elidal says, "Ah, you've returned."

Elidal nods at Blades.

Blades glances at Elidal.

Elidal asks, "Lord Blades is it?"

Blades says, "Never heard of him."

Blades glances at Elidal.

Blades asks, "Whose askin?"

Elidal says, "No? He's Notorious I thought." [Blades had on a "The Notorious" title from Open Sea Adventures]

Blades asks, "Whose this fellow?"

Blades glances at Stormyrain.

Blades says, "My name is Francis."

Blades nods at Elidal.

Blades says, "Pleasure."

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain offers, "Lord Elidal."

Elidal smirks.

Elidal nods at Blades.

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain explains, "The young Baron to be."

Elidal says, "I do not always feel young."

Elidal frowns.

Stormyrain folds her hands behind her back.

Stormyrain smiles at Elidal.

Elidal asks, "Shall we then?"

Tikba says, "One never does."

Elidal asks, "What did the reivers say?"

Elidal asks, "What did this warchief do?"

Perigourd says, "He said he would give those of the Landing entry to the vale to facilitate the exchange."

Tikba says, "They said that if we brought Rheshay to the Vale, we would be given Aronia."

Perigourd says, "He also said that if the Commander showed, they would not hold back harming him, or those who aided him."

[General] Chamorr thinks, "Where is this place."

Leafiara adds, "And that if Sablo--"

Leafiara nods at Perigourd.

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "He also suggested the Eve of the Huntress for the exchange."

[General] Directed to Chamorr, Stormyrain thinks, "From the trail into the campsite, go west a few times and into the pavillion."

Vaemyr says, "Tomorrow night, yes..."

[General] Leafiara adds, "And the trail is near the south end of the Lower Dragonsclaw."

Elidal says, "Hmm."

Elidal asks, "He is open to an exchange. Promising then, yes?"

Elidal nods.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "He also swam across the river. Perfectly good bridge sittin' there. Weird man."

Vaemyr says, "Aye."

Tikba says, "He offers what you wish, in exchange for what he wishes."

Blades says, "Sometimes shortest distance is a straight line."

Leafiara says, "Promising depending upon what you're seeking, anyway."

Tikba neutrally says, "The beginning of diplomacy."

Elidal says, "Sablo will not enter the Vale, or disrupt any manner of exchange."

Vaemyr says, "He says Aronia has not been harmed, and is open to the prisoner exchange."

Elidal says, "That is easy enough to agree to."

Elidal asks, "Did he say he would prove she is unharmed?"

Tikba mildly says, "Yes, it is easy to agree to."

Leafiara emphasizes, "It's easy enough for you to agree to."

Elidal says, "I am uncertain if he can be trusted fully."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "He said she was being well kept and fed."

Kiyna says, "Aye, I asked if any harm had come to Aronia, and he said she was quite alright. And... I do believe him."

Tikba says, "I asked him to prove Aronia's health before the exchange. He did not respond."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "Obviously there were no proofs of this."

Elidal asks, "Does he seem reasonable as Rheshay?"

Leafiara opines, "He seems reasonable to me."

Elidal says, "That doesn't necessarily mean he is."

Elidal smirks at Leafiara.

Kiyna suggests, "So long as you're not suggesting the war stop in its entirety, he seemed fairly reasonable."

Elidal says, "I jest."

Tikba carefully says, "He is not pleased with Rheshay's capture."

Vaemyr says, "I'm not I trust things either but, we will be there to witness ourselves. It's not like we'll just go and release Rheshay without seeing Aronia for ourselves."

Leafiara amusedly says, "I know."

Leafiara chuckles.

Elidal asks, "Does he love her?"

Tikba says, "But he is not a fool."

Tikba says, "I did not ask him that."

Perigourd says, "Hard to say."

Alternative Locations

Elidal says, "I do not want to take Rheshay into the Vale."

Tikba says, "He cared for her enough to determine who his best hostage would be."

Kiyna says, "I can't imagine he would have provided a useful answer, had we asked."

Elidal says, "You can go there, fine. I will not stop you. If you wish to meet with him, to discuss what is needed."

Elidal says, "I will want an exchange elsewhere. On a neutral territory."

Leafiara slowly asks, "And where exactly would that be, seeing as you've claimed the surrounding land?"

Tikba mildly says, "There is only one neutral territory to hand."

Elidal says, "Then Wehnimer's Landing."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "I don't think Haidan will accept any location you might provide ahead of time, for fear of another trap."

Kiyna amusedly says, "Moot Hall it is. Let's use Pookia's office. It comes pre-war torn."

Stormyrain says, "I might object to using the town as an exchange space, you will be putting our people in harm's way."

Stormyrain asks, "Voln?"

[General] Machtig thinks, "Nice."

Tikba says, "Hence the suggestion of the Landing. Elidal relies on us to assure Haidan that we would not allow a trap to be laid inside the walls."

Elidal says, "Surely any location I pick is no less ripe for a trap than the Ember Vale itself."

Leafiara ponders, "Oh, the Voln monastery, that's a good idea."

Elidal says, "He's proven his forces can get into the Outpost, we've yet to enter the Vale without their say."

Elidal points at Tikba.

Elidal says, "Precisely."

Kiyna says, "Tyeid has managed to penetrate the Landing as well - it doesn't seem any safer to me."

Stormyrain says, "That is lovely, but I need to consider the safety of our citizens within the walls. From both sides."

Elidal says, "If he trusts you to broker this deal and arrange it, then he should trust your walls as well."

Vaemyr says, "I agree with the Marshal, unfortunately I can't see justification for us to put our civilians in harms way for doing the exchange inside the walls."

Elidal asks, "If this exchange begins what I hope could bring some truce and treaty, then is it not worth it to prevent future danger and protect citizen's safety?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain gives a sidelong glance at Elidal.

Blades says, "You want neutral. Go to the sea."

Alosaka says, "A... worthy hope."

Elidal says, "I will not force the issue, I cannot make you conduct the exchange in your walls."

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain says, "Another good idea."

Thrassus says, "It would be the best location in my opinion."

Dwi heartily says, "My best idear is fer saile."

Elidal says, "But when I mentioned neutral, it was the only alternative many of you mentioned."

Speaking to Thrassus, Stormyrain asks, "Which?"

[General] Jahira asks, "Is there a whole ESP channel that I'm missing?"

Thrassus says, "Inside the town."

Perigourd says, "If you go to the coast, the Krolvin may intercede."

Elidal says, "You may...."

Chamorr heartily says, "Why not keep da Landin out of it."

Elidal nods at Perigourd.

Tikba mildly says, "It may be difficult for us to assure Haidan that there will not be a trap laid for him within the walls."

Leafiara says, "The sea makes Tyrrax's forces more likely to intervene."

Speaking to Thrassus, Stormyrain says, "Except it puts our citizens at risk from both sides, potentially."

Elidal says, "Exactly. You may find it difficult to get the reivers to sea."

[General] Guennwhfar thinks, "If you want a great solo RPG try Baldur's Gate."

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi asks, "Ye MET our neighbors?"

Leafiara says, "Maybe Haidan can counter-propose a territory more neutral than the Vale."

Elidal says, "There's been more krolvin ships at sea lately as well."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Thrassus asks, "And they haven't been in the past anyway?"

Alosaka ponders, "In a sense, having this exchange and meeting implies that both of you consider the other to be legitimate..."

Blades says, "They don't float so well anymore."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Dwi says, "Yer rong bout dat."

Tikba asks, "How can we guarantee the safety of the people of the Landing?"

Thrassus says, "Compromise has to be made, and the town is the best place currently to make it."

Dwi heartily says, "Ships dat is."

Vaemyr says, "The bridge could be a good spot again, like we met last night."

Dwi heartily says, "Less..."

Vaemyr says, "One group on one side of the river, the other for the other side."

Leafiara asks, "How about the territory around the Obsidian Tower? Didn't you agree to leave that alone?"

Speaking to Thrassus, Stormyrain says, "I'd like to avoid that in this case, considering this brokering deal does not directly involve the Landing, or its people. But I speak as the Marshal, I am not a Mayor nor am I the Council."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "We can't. We can only try to lessen the risks that come."

Tikba asks, "Yes, but how may we do that?"

Alosaka says, "I don't imagine Haidan will want to trek all the way to the Sentoph."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr asks, "Did you decide if the landin was subserviant or not?"

Perigourd says, "If the Landing wishes to act as an intermediary, that will not come without risk regardless of where the exchange is held."

Kiyna says, "Supposing we had time to prepare the town, it might be possible to minimize potential damage and loss of life, were we to host the exchange there. But the Marshal would need time to arrange that."

Perigourd says, "And the Landing has already been involved in the middle, by having her citizens taken, and by pursuing reivers of the Vale beyond their bounds."

Speaking heartily to Stormyrain, Chamorr says, "That what i read."

Speaking heartily to Stormyrain, Dwi asks, "Bedder question...dis ye decide dat yet?"

Stormyrain says, "A day's work may not be enough, but I only speak from my perspective. The decision does not lie with my office."

Alosaka says, "The Landing is the obvious choice. If the city truly wants to be taken seriously by the world at large, it has to play a serious role."

Dwi heartily says, "Bear already aint sub serbin nuffin."

Vaemyr says, "We could... ask to do it in Dikirk's church. he could be another party to help prevent outside interferance, and Tyeid would have much less influence there."

Speaking to Chamorr, Stormyrain says, "I do not. He is asking for our aid, it is our decision if we give it or not. That is not subservience."

Tikba mildly says, "It would be best if we could persuade the factions within the town itself to agree that the safety of the exchange is best for the safety of the Landing."

Speaking heartily to Stormyrain, Chamorr says, "Just askin da question."

Elidal ponders.

Speaking to Chamorr, Stormyrain says, "And I am just answering it, from my viewpoint."

Leafiara says, "Haidan and the Vale don't seem especially fond of Dikirk and the rest of the clan."

Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Dwi says, "Ye shoulda said.. Aid Schmaid."

Alosaka says, "Haidan and the Ember Vale don't seem to have any allies to speak of."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "We could suggest the idea, at least."

Speaking to Leafiara, Perigourd says, "Many of those in the Vale are also from the village, and it would essentially be giving them a field advantage."

Elidal says, "A lonely position to be in."

Elidal nods at Alosaka.

Elidal says, "One I don't think they realize."

Alosaka nods somberly.

Alosaka chuckles.

Alosaka says, "Perhaps we could do the exchange in Icemule."

Elidal says, "The Obsidian Tower was offered a chance to have their land."

Elidal nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "If he's not trekking to the Sentoph, he's not trekking to Icemule."

Leafiara chuckles.

Elidal says, "They have not acted on that yet."

Leafiara nods slowly at Elidal.

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr says, "By agreeing to the landing for this "chat" you would have to agree the landing is neutral and independent."

Speaking suddenly to Chamorr, Leafiara ponders, "Hmm, I guess that's one potential upside."

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi says, "We should offer to wrassle fer it."

Elidal begins chuckling at Chamorr!

Stormyrain says, "I'm not sure I would take Rhe into Dikirk's realm, were I Haidan."

Elidal says, "We've already established the relationship."

Elidal says, "Let's move forward."

Elidal nods at Chamorr.

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain says, "Not a terrible idea."

Alosaka says, "The Landing is trusted."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr says, "Not quite."

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain says, "Too bad it's not closer."

Blades says, "Its pricy."

Elidal asks, "Is Wehnimer's not at risk each passing day that Tyeid's influence grows?"

Elidal asks, "He spirited people from within your walls, didn't he?"

Speaking heartily to Blades, Dwi says, "Ye say piracy funny...dat's why I like ye."

Leafiara says, "I'm not sure I understand why this discussion is somehow simultaneously predicated on the presumption of an ambush and yet that having the exchange in the Landing isn't asking too great a risk to civilian lives."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Be that as it may, I wouldn't laugh at the earnest desires of our people, Elidal. Clumsily though they are professed."

Speaking absently to Elidal, Raelee says, "... I have a question."

Thrassus says, "He follows an Arkati whose sphere of influence is betrayal, after all."

Elidal says, "I meant no offense."

Chamorr heartily says, "Seems as long as the empire wants to impose itself in the area."

Elidal nods at Kiyna.

Kiyna nods at Elidal.

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "He has, and I think Rheshay is one of our best options at fighting that. She seemed greatly upset when we informed her what he has been doing."

Elidal says, "I am...stressed. I am sorry."

Elidal says, "This is difficult to be worried about Aronia. It has never been like this."

Elidal moves to a sitting position on the wood-framed cot.

Tikba says, "Elidal is right that having the exchange within the Vale, without knowing Aronia's well-being, is too much favorable ground ceded."

Elidal turns an inquisitive ear toward Raelee.

(Raelee glances up from the pages of her book, briefly.)

Alosaka says, "Perhaps Hearthstone? It is Landing territory, but outside the walls."

Chamorr heartily says, "A neutral site would be the AI."

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee says, "Travelling to the Value provides valuable intelligence. Location. Means of entry. And so forth."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Dwi exclaims, "Yer turn!"

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee asks, "... why are we not considering the value of that?"

Dwi heartily says, "Means o' means also."

Speaking to Raelee, Perigourd says, "Ostensibly, we would have to travel there to deliver the terms of exchange."

Elidal says, "Because with a snap they could sever the way there, and if anything happens, we or others are cut off from safety."

Dwi snaps her fingers at Elidal.

Dwi heartily asks, "Like dat?"

Chamorr heartily says, "And that would be a shame."

Raelee takes a moment to observe Elidal.

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi says, "Also unpossible."

Alosaka asks, "Perhaps we could ask Haidan what location he would accept?"

Tikba wryly says, "After the last diplomatic meeting, Elidal is also right that Haidan is unlikely to agree to neutral ground that does not possess walls."

Speaking slowly to Elidal, Raelee says, "Information wins wars, Lord Elidal."

Chamorr heartily says, "Abandoned inn."

Elidal says, "Perigourd has a point. If we push for the Vale as the place to negoiate the final terms..."

Tikba says, "It is hard to see another path, but we may certainly discuss it."

Speaking heartily to Perigourd, Dwi says, "Make it agin fer us dummies."

Kiyna says, "If they try to trap us within the Vale, they will regret it."

Speaking to Dwi, Perigourd says, "The point is, we will likely have to go to the Vale before the actual exchange to begin with, during which we can see what we may."

Speaking heartily to Perigourd, Dwi asks, "Oh...so...nuffin?"

Perigourd says, "If for nothing else than to establish that Aronia is actually in good health."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka asks, "How much do you trust Haidan?"

Thrassus says, "It's not us I worry about, it is the welfare of the prisoners on both sides."

Raelee absently says, "Go to the Vale. Extract some value from this."

Raelee turns the page in her eye-embossed tome.

Leafiara wryly says, "At this point, I'm beginning to think we should host this discussion in the kobold village so the Ember Vale spies posted there will catch wind of what's said and realize nobody's trying to trick them."

The tent flap lifts up and Gutstorm steps into view.

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi exclaims, "Yes!"

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "It's not a matter of how much. I trust Haidan to do some things, and not to do others."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me brudder!"

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi exclaims, "We goin to bisit Yappie's kin! Leafi's leadin!"

Elidal says, "What if I went? Not for the exchange, but to speak with Haidan? In the Vale? With you all to accompany me."

Speaking to Leafiara, Perigourd says, "I would expect them to be aware that when we walk into their home, we're learning what we can."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Kobolt villich eh?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Leafiara says, "...maybe some of you are."

Speaking carefully to Elidal, Tikba says, "That would seem risky."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "I think that could be a terrible idea."

Speaking to Elidal, Alosaka says, "You could just surrender now and save the trip."

Elidal says, "To show him I am genuine, not trying to prepare a trap, and I merely want a safe ground to exchange our prisoners."

Speaking dubiously to Elidal, Leafiara says, "I don't believe you were invited."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "He did say he didn't wish you or imperials to come to the Vale."

Dwi heartily asks, "Imps is as imps does...aint dat rite?"

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus says, "That would be unwise."

Elidal says, "That isn't a no though."

Elidal nods at Perigourd.

Elidal asks, "What does a man like Haidan respect?"

Raelee says, "He did not precisely say... Imperials."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "It's an incredible risk."

Elidal asks, "Do you think?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Him notta man."

Speaking to Elidal, Alosaka says, "Lord Elidal, I appreciate your desire to demonstrate your sincerity to this man... who has murdered every one of your settlers he has gotten his hands on."

Leafiara indifferently says, "Well, it's your risk to try the outreach, I suppose."

Thrassus says, "It's not Haidan you have to worry about, but his shaman."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna admits, "On the one hand, he might appreciate you having the stones to show up yourself, in person."

Tikba says, "Strength, honor."

Elidal asks, "The reivers of my home, perhaps not as savage as I've seen here, but they are a people of boldness and bravery are they not?"

Perigourd says, "They do tend to admire straightforward action, yes."

Tikba politely says, "Boldness, bravery, and strength of arms."

Elidal asks, "What does he say of me?"

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus asks, "You have reivers where you are from originally?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yoo really want know?"

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Can you beat Haidan at arm wrestling? That would put all this to rest, I'm sure."

Speaking politely to Elidal, Missoni says, "He calls you a fancy lord."

Tikba diplomatically says, "He thinks you are very young."

Leafiara recalls, "I can't remember him saying all that much of you, to be honest. He has poor words for Sablo and Samfelt."

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee says, "... and it is your 'clan' that is disallowed from the Vale."

Elidal nods at Thrassus.

Speaking drunkenly to Xorus, Gutstorm slurs, "Where me Lylia?"

Xorus says, "Biding her time."

Speaking to Elidal, Alosaka says, "If you go to him, it will be as a supplicant."

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus asks, "Perhaps you could have thier clan leader attest to how they are treated?"

Blades says, "Avoiding you."

Elidal asks, "He's called me fancy?"

Elidal chuckles.

Elidal says, "Clearly he has never been to the imperial courts of the south."

Dwi heartily says, "Guts gotta crush onna yer boat."

Missoni murmurs, "Or Ta'Illistim."

Blades says, "I know he was rolling around on my sheets."

Elidal says, "It is rumored they are always the first to detect rain. Their noses are high enough."

Elidal smirks.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "I would say you are the least fancy imperial noble I've met, but I do know Larsya quite well."

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus asks, "They may place more value in the words of one of thier own people?"

Speaking wryly to Elidal, Tikba says, "Yes, I told him you were not very fancy."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "It da pherimonesh."

Elidal peers quizzically at Thrassus.

Dwi recites heartily:

"Join Cryheart!"

Blades says, "You're truly alluring."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "We should get one of them for the town square, to help detect the weather then."

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus asks, "I take it the reivers of your home still organize themselves into clans, yes?"

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr says, "And its only time till your barony entertains all the fine lords n Ladies."

Elidal says, "They had but one clan, yes."

Elidal nods at Thrassus.

Speaking drunkenly to Stormyrain, Gutstorm slurs, "Me heard ye got new nickednamed."

Elidal rubs his eyes.

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus says, "Right there is a possible souce of vouching for your honor, I would suggest."

Speaking to Thrassus, Perigourd says, "It's likely that they would need to be familiar with the clan to value it's word. They obviously see no value in the words of those still at Luinne Bheinn."

Contingencies

Elidal says, "We don't even know she's alive."

Elidal says, "Let's be honest..."

Elidal frowns.

Stormyrain says, "I've no idea what you're saying."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm slurs, "Me kin share wit Blade aye?"

Thrassus says, "I suppose you are correct."

Chamorr heartily says, "Lets."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Tween ye anna he."

Tikba says, "We must assume she is alive, until we know for sure."

Dwi heartily says, "Anna yer."

Speaking to Elidal, Missoni says, "I believe she is."

Elidal says, "My father would strangle any of the river reivers before they even got within a foot of this camp."

Alosaka notes, "I observe that we have with us the senior Faendryl lord and lady of 'our domain. Who own a particular plot of land nearby."

Elidal says, "I am sure he can still sense them. The man is wild about them."

Thrassus says, "Oh, well nevermind then."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Why we not goin to vishit Yappie kinfolk?"

Tikba carefully asks, "And I am sure he is still carefully chaperoned?"

Elidal says, "Not to mention, using a reiver for a reiver, is still trusting a reiver."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "Some of them are worthy of trust."

Alosaka asks, "Perhaps Lord Xorus and Lady Lylia, our former mayor, could suggest a neutral site near the Landing?"

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Dwi asks, "So...dis stranglin...he used a rope? Er bar hands?"

Kiyna says, "I can't imagine an even more distant reiver clan will have any more success than Dikirk's."

Elidal says, "I am willing to trust them."

Elidal nods at Perigourd.

Vaemyr says, "While we don't know if she's alive, I think it's more likely she is, as Haidan stands more to gain currently by her being alive than not I think."

Elidal says, "I am willing to make peace with Haidan, if it is possible."

Lylia suggests, "The Alabaster Spire has a large enough courtyard, and well-warded enough, that it would be a suitable place for exchange. If that is necessary."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Peace mean yoo go home."

Elidal says, "I do not want their lands. The Ember Vale does not need to cease."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr says, "What guarantees, do ya give him."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Dwi exclaims, "Scoot!"

Alosaka says, "I don't believe anyone can accuse the Alabaster Spire of being in cahoots with the Empire."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "Aye the spire could be a good neutral location."

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi says, "Dis idjit's worth o' a back hand anna boot to da rear."

Elidal says, "The Alabaster Spire is close to their lands, no? We presume, given where they breach at times."

Speaking dryly to Alosaka, Raelee says, "They do allow me rather unfettered access to their library."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "At their doorstep, essentially."

Alosaka says, "We're all near their lands."

Xorus says, "One would think."

Thrassus says, "Unfortuantely, yes."

Missoni says, "Their forces are often thick there, yes."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Dwi says, "Claim dem lands...try it."

Elidal says, "It is also beyond any location we have claimed as the Empire."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm slurs, "Me think bear hinerbatin."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi asks, "Wot's new?"

Lylia says, "Close, yes -- but not within them. Our holdings are also well warded."

Elidal says, "It is not the proximity to the Vale I minded, I cared about the way in and out if anything goes wrong."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr says, "See, thats it in a nutshell, huh."

Elidal asks, "Is not the Gryphon Holding near as well?"

Alosaka says, "If nothing else, if Haidan attacks the Spire, he'll be making enemies."

Elidal says, "Perhaps we could have more soldiers stationed there as well as a precaution."

Tikba carefully says, "If Haidan will accept the Spire, it is perhaps safer than the Landing for the exchange."

Elidal says, "No Sablo."

Lylia agrees, "It is indeed."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm slurs, "It dokay, Lylia like to hosht partiesh."

Elidal smirks.

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "Ye aint gotta giff dem credit where dey aint gotta egg to pay."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "It is by the Lyserian hills, not far off."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Lylia says, "True enough, although I do not consider this a party."

Kiyna says, "Aye, the Alabaster Spire seems a fine choice."

Alosaka says, "The Gryphon Holding is near there, but it is certainly seen as allied with the Empire."

Tikba diplomatically says, "I doubt Haidan would agree to consider the Gryphon's keep a neutral location."

Speaking drunkenly to Lylia, Gutstorm slurs, "Will dere be drinkin?"

Vaemyr says, "The Gryphon holding is another option, but the Spire, unlike the Gryphon holding has not been set on fire by the Reivers."

Leafiara says, "Having more soldiers stationed isn't necessarily a good idea."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr says, "You should move into the place, theyd love it."

Missoni agrees, "We are an Imperial order."

Elidal says, "No. The Spire for the exchange. The Hold was mentioned as a station point for reinforcements if needed."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "Yer place scares da bejeebers outta me...but I'll be at yer gate to pertect da sanctictitity."

Leafiara asks, "Do we have a backup location in case Haidan declines the Spire?"

Alosaka says, "I'm certain Sir Guarrin would allow the Holding to be used to garrison for reinforcements... but I would tread carefully on that. If Haidan saw you stationing forces there, he might be suspicious of your intentions."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara agrees, "Exactly."

Speaking mildly to Alosaka, Tikba says, "Yes."

Alosaka says, "I am certain many of us here, and in the Landing, would be willing to provide security at the Spire."

Elidal says, "A slow build up."

Elidal nods at Alosaka.

Kiyna says, "While I would be happy to host the exchange in the Landing proper, the Marshal has already expressed the obvious safety concerns, and I tend to align with her opinion. The Spire seems like a very sensible alternative."

Elidal says, "...not to mention, my brother can lend a hand."

Vaemyr says, "The spire seems like a good suggestion I think."

Chamorr heartily says, "Thats how this all started...a slow build up."

Speaking in Dwarven, Dwi heartily asks something you don't understand.

Speaking in Dwarven, Dwi heartily says something you don't understand.

Thrassus says, "If treachery is dealt out at the Spire, the offenders may find themselves biting off more than they can chew."

Speaking in Dwarven, Gutstorm drunkenly slurs something you don't understand.

Leafiara says, "Relying on illusions to covertly move soldiers might be underestimating the abilities of Tyeid. It also might not, but..."

Speaking in Dwarven, Dwi heartily says something you don't understand.

Elidal says, "I am as uncomfortable with the exchange within Wehnimer's Landing as I would be within our own settlement."

Elidal nods at Kiyna.

Alosaka says, "Even the Empire will not tread on the Spire's prerogatives."

Elidal says, "It was the only offer at the time. I am glad we can think of somewhere else."

Elidal says, "Too many variables in your town."

Speaking in Dwarven, Dwi heartily says something you don't understand.

Elidal says, "The Remnants, the Rooks, the krol, townspeople, Gutstorm."

Chamorr heartily asks, "No one likes the Inn?"

Tikba wryly agrees, "Yes."

Stormyrain offers, "Francis."

Speaking to Chamorr, Alosaka concurs, "It is a good idea."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Kiyna agrees, "There is Francis to watch out for."

Lylia smoothly says, "We are happy to extend the offer, seeing as we are not so..."

Blades says, "I haven't done nothin."

Lylia concludes, "So factional."

Chamorr heartily says, "And they serve food."

Speaking quietly to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Aint really our fite."

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka asks, "Bound?"

Leafiara says, "The krolvin aren't actually in the Landing, for the record..."

Leafiara ponders, "...that I know of, I suppose."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "As far as backup locations, I think Voln seemed like an option most people didn't hate."

Lylia diplomatically says, "The Alabaster Spire is purely Faendryl, and concerned with Faendryl interests."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "Wot I said..."

Alosaka says, "I think Chamorr's suggestion of the old Inn is worthwhile, but the Spire seems to be the superior answer."

Stormyrain says, "It's a lovely option."

Leafiara says, "I thought the Abandoned Inn area was claimed by the Empire or else I'd be in agreement as a backup."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna asks, "So we are in accord? Tomorrow night, we'll go to the Vale, and set up this exchange with Haidan, to be held at the Alabaster Spire?"

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi says, "Heh...we should go watch fer da rent collectors."

Elidal says, "I think the Spire may have a chance of persuading Haidan. It remains close to their land, and still outside of ours."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "What isnt claimed by the empire."

Tikba says, "Should he agree to it."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "Both sides would have ready enough egress."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "We can only try."

Vaemyr says, "It's certainly also not a location aligned with either side."

Elidal says, "And truthfully, he can summon a host of reivers nearby as quickly as I could soldiers from the Hold."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "The Landing and past the river. ...so far."

Elidal says, "So there is no field advantage to either side."

Elidal says, "Except, we'd win. We always win."

Blades says, "Until you don't."

Elidal nods at Kiyna.

Dwi heartily says, "Tahoo ta one...reebers."

Elidal asks, "You are...open to this?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Lylia.

Lylia smiles thinly and notes, "I do not expect there to be any fighting at all, so 'winning' is a moot point."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wud dat ferda bank job?"

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "Is milarky."

Speaking to Elidal, Lylia says, "I am, yes. This is an exchange on neutral territory."

Elidal nods.

Xorus says, "This is acceptable."

Elidal nods at Xorus.

Lylia continues, "And we are."

Elidal says, "Then I accept as well. You may offer the Spire when you meet with Haidan."

[General] Notnil thinks, "Looking for a healer in WL TSC."

Speaking heartily to Blades, Dwi says, "He still wants yer boat."

Lylia asks, "Excellent. When shall we expect to speak with his contingent?"

Blades says, "I'll tie him to the bow and give him free rides."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Dont..."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "Tomorrow I think."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna says, "We are to be escorted to the Vale tomorrow night."

Elidal says, "Tomorrow he wished to speak at the Ember Vale."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Tricky elf."

Elidal glances at Raelee.

Elidal says, "I wonder if while you are there..."

Elidal ponders.

Raelee tilts her head up.

Elidal asks, "Information, right?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Raelee.

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee echoes, "Information."

Speaking drunkenly to Raelee, Gutstorm slurs, "How come yoo do him favor, but yoo no do me favor?"

Elidal asks, "Do you remember when my brother helped locate Gnul's forge?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Raelee.

Elidal nods at Kayse.

Speaking to Elidal, Raelee says, "Of course I do."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Dwi says, "Well...tanks fer sittin down while alla us remain standin...tells us much."

Lylia cautions, "I shall not be free tomorrow until perhaps the middle of the night, however."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr asks, "Afore ya wiped him out?"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Raelee says, "... many reasons, Gutstorm. Many reasons."

Speaking to Chamorr, Tikba says, "To all our benefit, yes."

Lylia says, "We have a stage-play to perform, an hour before midnight."

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka says, "We shall use whatever wording you are comfortable with."

Elidal says, "I will speak with Enisius. There may be a way to take advantage of this as well."

Perigourd says, "Ah."

Speaking heartily to Tikba, Chamorr says, "To the benefit of the empire."

Speaking mildly to Chamorr, Tikba says, "It is to the benefit of the Landing that we destroyed Gnul."

Speaking pointedly to Elidal, Raelee says, "As far as I am concerned... I am not a member of your 'fancy clan'."

Lylia says, "It is to the benefit of most living things that we destroyed Gnul."

Vaemyr whispers something to Elidal.

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka asks, "He may not be familiar with the Alabaster Spire. May we say that the Faendryl have offered the use of their territory for this exchange?"

Elidal begins chuckling at Raelee!

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Mebbe invite haiden to Revealin Carbinal, me shore Traiva nookin fer more partipitantsh."

Elidal nods at Raelee.

Speaking heartily to Tikba, Chamorr says, "Only reson we had a problem with him is the landing sided with the empire."

Speaking heartily to Tikba, Dwi says, "Dont think I aint been huntin dat bloobelly wit da Sprout."

Elidal nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Alosaka, Lylia replies, "You may, yes. The courtyard is the ideal location."

Speaking to Chamorr, Thrassus asks, "How many times has the Landing fended off the Illoke before Gnul reared his head?"

Alosaka says, "Well, this is progress."

Lylia says, "And I imagine he is familiar with the Spire, if only by sight."

Elidal says, "We just may be able to help glean some information about the Vale's location when you meet with Haidan."

Perigourd says, "It's a plan at least."

Elidal says, "The return of Aronia and perhaps a key to the Vale."

Chamorr heartily says, "May i suggest, if ya bring this proposal to haidan, it must be done completely neutral, no spying, interloping."

Leafiara says, "I suppose you should hope Tyeid doesn't have tiny spiders listening to have heard you say that."

Elidal says, "A risk."

Speaking to Elidal, Alosaka says, "I will confer with your cartographer... but we have some experience with determining the location of places."

Elidal nods at Leafiara.

Speaking appreciatively in Sylvankind to Stormyrain, Kayse says something you don't understand.

Elidal says, "But we are secure here."

Chamorr heartily says, "See."

Leafiara says, "You should certainly hope so."

Leafiara nods at Elidal.

Chamorr heartily says, "Yer already plannin to attack."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wait wait wait.....why we tradin da River lady for Aronia? Me no shee da tactical value, she not a warrior or nuffin yootful."

Speaking to Chamorr, Alosaka says, "To be fair, Haidan knows where we are."

Peace Proposal

Elidal says, "I have another proposal I would ask that you deliver to Haidan."

Speaking heartily to a tent flap, Dwi says, "Dat's one secure flap."

Speaking amusedly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Rheshay, not Wintora."

Tikba whispers something to Gutstorm.

Elidal glances at Gutstorm.

Speaking drunkenly to Elidal, Gutstorm slurs, "Me keepin it real."

Speaking drunkenly to Elidal, Gutstorm slurs, "Deez other folk tell yoo want yoo want hear. me tell yoo troof."

Kiyna says, "I have seen Aronia do battle. I wouldn't want to fight her, I can say that much."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yet she captured..."

Gutstorm works his fingers under his dancing flame crown and scratches his head.

Tikba says, "She is a powerful priestess."

Perigourd says, "Most Imaerans are worth their salt in a fight."

Chamorr heartily says, "Lets have a peace summit, while we gather information, build up troops."

Elidal says, "Haidan's clan is shrinking. His true clan. To our combined blades, arrows, and bolts. Of those that remain, the Spider ensnares them for what is claimed to be evolution, but is only depravity and a course heading for destruction."

Speaking to Chamorr, Alosaka says, "We are still at war."

Tikba says, "Indeed, such is the purpose of peace."

Elidal says, "I am willing to make peace with the Ember Vale."

Elidal says, "To discuss arrangements, assurances, trade, all manners of options to bring peace."

Speaking heartily to Tikba, Chamorr asks, "War?"

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi asks, "Folks dat confuddle Drunken wit Stoopid...shame on dem eh?"

Elidal says, "Because let us be honest, with those of us here."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "The Ember Vale wants you gone."

Speaking to Elidal, Alosaka says, "It is gracious of you to offer peace to an enemy who has behave with such contemptible violence."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We got 2 option.....war and.....war."

Speaking evenly to Chamorr, Tikba says, "Enemies must be made into friends, or destroyed entirely."

Elidal says, "Our forces will win. Maybe not tomorrow, or next month, but in time, the Ember Vale will be a fraction of what it is, which is already fractured, and in time, lost entirely."

(Gutstorm holds up 3 fingers.)

Blades says, "I like them both."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara adds, "And pashtafishm."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi exclaims, "Also bath nite!"

Lylia reminds, "There is a reason we refer to them as 'reivers' and not 'farmers' or 'settlers' or even 'layabouts.'."

Speaking drunkenly to Leafiara, Gutstorm slurs, "Dankoo fer remind me."

Kiyna says, "I wonder if that's true... when we venture to the Vale tomorrow, perhaps we'll see if Haidan's people share his... deeply-held convictions."

Elidal says, "I can sit here and never budge, and declare greatness when the war is over..."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi says, "I think he totally unnerstood dat."

Elidal says, "But that's foolish."

Elidal says, "And it will cost my people lives in the end as well."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Chamorr says, "Ya know, if peace is truly yer intention, and a compatable treaty, then do it in earnest."

Dwi heartily says, "Imma good wit war tho."

Elidal says, "So I ask, please send my proposal. I wish to speak with Haidan."

Elidal says, "Your people can help faciliate whatever he needs to be comfortable."

Lylia dubiously says, "You are...thoughtful to consider his comfort."

Elidal says, "I hope a prisoner exchange helps to form the beginnings of a bridge."

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Dwi says, "Our "people" include Bear."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "It may be that even in the face of this offer, they will feel honor bound to continue this to the last regardless."

Tikba diplomatically says, "We will convey your desire."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Perhaps, you should speak with Rheshay first then before tomorrow night. If you can get her to talk with you in earnest, then you may stand a shot with Haidan."

Elidal says, "Then work hard to remind him, that honor is measured in the life of your people, not their death."

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni muses, "Perhaps, but if he now realizes this is not a war he will win, he be more amenable to peaceful options."

Leafiara says, "I doubt he'll have anything more to say than what he's said so far about wanting you to move back south, as they wish for solitude, but that won't stop people here from conveying what you wish."

Speaking to Perigourd, Alosaka says, "But, we shall make this offer where all of Haidan's people can hear it. Perhaps they will grow weary of war before he does."

Elidal nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking approvingly to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Good idea."

Elidal says, "I have spoken with Rheshay twice. I've had my mother earn her ear."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yoo gotta nice mum. me like her rocker chair."

Elidal says, "She will know of my offer, and my intentions in full, before she returns to the Vale."

Lylia says, "Yes. While I agree that you must give them room enough to kneel, lest they fight to the last one of them, do not give them too much room to stand, either."

Vaemyr nods at Elidal.

Elidal says, "But you can help plant the seeds first."

Elidal nods.

Speaking drunkenly to Perigourd, Gutstorm slurs, "Didnt we plant nuff seed?"

Dwi heartily exclaims, "It's hops plantin time!"

Elidal says, "I disagree, with all due respect."

Elidal nods at Lylia.

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr asks, "Kneel?"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Perigourd says, "Both metaphorical and literal ones, yes."

Dwi heartily says, "Tho...aint shore we do dat frem seeds."

Elidal says, "Even a knight kneels to then stand."

Elidal says, "If the Ember Vale can rise to be something better, then we all benefit from it."

Alosaka says, "Hm."

Speaking to Elidal, Alosaka says, "Do not forget that Haidan is a murderer, leading a clan of murderers."

Kiyna confesses, "We do sometimes have... considerable difficulties with such negotiations. 'Too many warchiefs', they aptly point out."

Alosaka says, "Make peace with him... but do not forget what he is."

Speaking heartily to Alosaka, Chamorr says, "Freedom fighter."

Speaking drunkenly to Alosaka, Gutstorm reminds, "Sablo too."

Dwi heartily exclaims, "Make peas not swore!"

Dwi heartily says, "Oops."

Tikba mildly says, "We must all do what we think is right, to protect our people."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi exclaims, "Sorry!"

Lylia says, "They are no knights. They are shards of a broken empire, and like any such, they are not at your...current state of progress, you could say."

Elidal says, "I am aware of what Haidan is."

Elidal says, "But I also know what he could be."

Vaemyr says, "So... in other thoughts, because Rheshay was originally coming to treat with us about it. What are peoples thoughts about the Krolvin. I think there is potential in building trust as a united front against them... but the Landing did also make a deal with Tyrrax, although I think you could argue he broke it when his troops attacked some weeks back."

Elidal says, "Not by force, not by my hand or strings, but..."

Elidal shrugs.

Tikba mildly says, "He is a leader, acclaimed by his people."

Alosaka says, "Hm."

Elidal says, "A wise woman once taught me that."

Elidal stands up.

Speaking heartily to Elidal, Dwi asks, "Wassit yer Granny?"

Tikba says, "They do not see him as a murderer. They see him as an ordained ruler."

Elidal asks, "The hour is late. Although, strangely...is this not when your storms usually roll in?"

Elidal says, "Now the sky is clear. Summer is a strange, strange time."

Leafiara says, "Historically."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "The nature of weather to change."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Blame the Reach. It's making quite a few things very wacky."

Lylia says, "Typically, yes, which is why we hosted our play a bit earlier. The amphitheater is partially open to the skies."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Rufush ashneep, me think no shtorm tnite."

Speaking ominously to Perigourd, Leafiara says, "Or perhaps it's effects from the Reach..."

Chamorr heartily says, "Good, cause im missin sleep."

Elidal says, "Thank you for your time everyone, and your ideas, and your continued help."

Tikba politely says, "It is always a pleasure, Elidal."

Elidal says, "I hope that to be true."

Elidal nods at Tikba.

Speaking to Elidal, Missoni wishes, "Rest well, Lord Elidal."

Elidal bows.

Lord Elidal just went through a tent flap.

Discussion Afterward

Dwi heartily exclaims, "Onwards!"

Leafiara says, "He speaks as if we're all doing it for his sake..."

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka says, "Lady Lylia, we owe you a debt, again."

Tikba says, "We are fortunate to have the Spire close to hand."

Lylia replies, "We are happy to offer such an invitation. However, the shards of empire are not the same as an empire itself, and to treat them as such...well."

Tikba wryly says, "I am sure we will all do our best to ensure your home is not disturbed by violence."

[General] Dwi exclaims, "Aint sayin der aint gonna be any Darkstone Draught left by mornin...but also aint say aint!"

Lylia says, "It begets grandiosity."

Lylia says, "I am not overly concerned about that."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Treat them as a people that want their freedom with havin to kneel."

Chamorr heartily says, "Without."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me not like kneelin, hurt me knee. and afore ye shay it Chamorr, me got knee."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Chamorr says, "Yer a dwarf, ya gots no knees."

Perigourd says, "We come into this world on our back, same as we go out."

Tikba uncertainly asks, "Is there some disagreement as to whether you have knees?"

Speaking amusedly to Tikba, Leafiara says, "As you just heard, there is."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly thinks, "Me built dat tower Dwi."

Alosaka says, "Well, I feel much better after this discussion."

Vaemyr says, "I still think our situation with the Krolvin is gonna come up before there's any chance at peace."

Perigourd says, "Too many people believe they have freedom that is a fallacy."

[General] Dwi asks, "Onna rock anna roll?"

Tikba politely says, "All people have freedom. Some choose not to use it."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "What Fallacy mean?"

Lylia points out, "Out most people cannot actually define 'freedom' in a way that goes beyond 'I get to do what I want.'."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Perigourd says, "A misconception."

Speaking pedantically to Gutstorm, Raelee says, "Mistaken belief based upon unsound argument."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Vaemyr says, "When someone labels something beer but it's water instead."

Alosaka says, "Though... Vaemyr's words suggest something. Perhaps we should not tell Tyrrax about this this exchange, or its location."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "...we don't even have a way to contact Tyrrax if we wanted to, at least that I know of."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna says, "Freedom is not something easily defined, and varies from person to person... but ill-defined things are no less precious."

Alosaka says, "The Krol have much to gain from a continued war."

Lylia says, "As far as I am concerned, Tyrrax has served his purpose admirably. He carried the word about the 'Blue Suffer' exactly as he should have."

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka says, "Fair. I don't imagine Tyrrax would want to cross Lord Xorus."

Tikba amusedly says, "But Lylia is quite correct. Freedom is the power to do as one wills."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "If their isle is in trouble as is thought, it may grow more pressing soon as well."

Tikba says, "We all possess it, here."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr asks, "Ya want a definition?"

Tikba says, "Though sometimes we forget."

Speaking absently to Tikba, Raelee asks, "... do we?"

Vaemyr says, "Of my opinion, he violated his deal weeks ago when his troops attacked our gates and breached our walls, not that we couldn't potentially renegotiate, but... he did break it first."

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia says, "Ill-defined things are indeed less precious if people do not know what they fight and die for. If they do not understand it beyond 'I want to take Farmer Geoff's field, and so I shall, because I am free.' This is the reivers' freedom."

Speaking to Raelee, Alosaka suggests, "Character is fate."

Speaking to Raelee, Tikba says, "Perhaps some forget more than others."

Speaking to Alosaka, Raelee asks, "Did we not mention the notion that the existance of predestination is still a question?"

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna says, "It is not worth arguing over right now. The Ember Vale is in the wrong. This much is plain, to me, at least."

Chamorr heartily says, "Wow."

Speaking to Raelee, Alosaka asks, "Is the notion of character still in doubt?"

Lylia says, "I would agree with you on that too."

Vaemyr says, "Anyways... I don't think there's a world where we have peace with the Reivers and the Krolvin... not even I have that much hope in me I don't think."

Speaking to Alosaka, Raelee says, "Not in the abstract."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Perigourd says, "A very minute chance, if at all."

Speaking heartily to Kiyna, Chamorr says, "They are freedom fighters."

Speaking amusedly to Alosaka, Tikba asks, "What is character?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Lylia says, "Mass graves are very peaceful places."

Speaking pragmatically to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "It's not hope you need in that case. It's the realization of the constant absurdity that is the Landing."

Speaking to Chamorr, Kiyna says, "They are butchers of farmhands and teenagers."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "The sum of our thoughts and deeds."

[General] Rasson thinks, "Cleric to north market for a corpse please."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly thinks, "Me gotta shovel."

Speaking to Alosaka, Tikba says, "The result of our freedom."

Speaking heartily to Kiyna, Chamorr says, "They fight to keep their way of life."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "Even a slave may think as they wish."

Lylia whispers something to Xorus.

Vaemyr says, "But if they are right up north, about something going to happen on Glaoveln, I think we could expect further Krolvin activity in the coming months."

Speaking to Chamorr, Perigourd says, "That assumes it was ever under attack."

Speaking to Chamorr, Kiyna says, "They don't. They fight to continue to fight. Their way of life is waiting for them, with Dikirk, would they only seek it out."

Speaking evenly to Alosaka, Tikba says, "Sometimes we forget."

Speaking to Alosaka, Lylia says, "Nice work tonight."

Speaking heartily to Perigourd, Chamorr says, "Well, it wasnt till the empire moved in."

Speaking to Alosaka, Lylia says, "I hope you can be there tomorrow."

Speaking wryly to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Oh, so all those hypotheticals from months ago about whether we'd call krolvin coming here to live refugees, settlers, or invaders could become reality?"

Speaking to Chamorr, Perigourd says, "It wasn't after, either."

Lylia clarifies, "For the play."

Alosaka says, "As do I."

Speaking to Chamorr, Missoni says, "They implant their people with spider eggs and experiment upon them. The is not the way of life of any reiver clan I am familiar with."

Speaking heartily to Perigourd, Chamorr says, "Again, because some lord born said so."

Speaking to Chamorr, Perigourd says, "Because no one has acted to take their lands or enforce a change of their ways upon them."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We dishmished?"

Perigourd says, "Actions speak louder than presumptions."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Vaemyr says, "I think so."

Kiyna says, "I cannot necessarily put this on Haidan, but as for Tyeid... I will have him answer for his assault of my friend Nairena. Haidan continues to protect him."

Vaemyr says, "Tyeid needs to be dealt with certainly."

Speaking to Chamorr, Lylia asks, "If their way of life includes stealing and molesting their neighbors' sheep, should we preserve this noble freedom? Or is it incompatible with the freedoms their neighbors enjoy?"

Tikba mildly says, "Enemies must be made into friends, or utterly destroyed."

Vaemyr says, "If they are not at war though with the Imperials, there's no need for Tyeid, and then Rheshay and perhaps Haidan become allies against him."

Tikba says, "If they cannot be friends..."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Question, was the sheep there afore them empire dclared it theirs."

Lylia says, "I knew you would not answer the question."

Lylia says, "I do not know why I hope."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna corrects, "No, no, you have it backwards. These are adherents of the Spider, don't forget. Friends must be made into enemies, or utterly destroyed."

Speaking to Lylia, Missoni says, "You are an optimist."

Speaking to Missoni, Lylia says, "I am. And I also have a bit more work to do. These playbills need to make their way to the printer."

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd asks, "Who is on the cover?"

Speaking to Lylia, Missoni sighs, "There is no rest in the theatre."

Missoni says, "I have costumes to sew."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "How about being a good neighbor and lettin them have a sheep."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Ya wanna go to war over a sheep."

Speaking to Perigourd, Lylia says, "I was thinking of featuring an image of a spilled glass of wine..."

Tikba amusedly says, "All who help herd the sheep should share in the mutton."

Speaking to Chamorr, Thrassus says, "You certainly seem to want to."

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "A waste of a good drink."

The burnished ember fox rolls around on the ground for a moment.

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni whispers aloud, "You will understand once you see the play."

Lylia asks, "Oh, is it?"

Speaking heartily to Thrassus, Chamorr says, "Me, i think the empire should go home."

Speaking to a flame-eyed burnished ember fox, Kiyna asks, "You want attention, huh?"

Tikba says, "I must pray. It is a pleasure to see you all."

Tikba lifts the tent flap and steps outside.

Lylia says, "I should see to those playbills. And costumes. And so many details."

Leafiara musingly admits, "You know, praying to Marlu does sound particularly appealing at times these past few months."

Xorus says, "I would blame the sheep for their infidelity."

Chamorr heartily says, "Good idea."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna says, "I shall try my very hardest to make it to the play."

Chamorr heartily says, "Im goin home and count sheep."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "On that note, I am running away."

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia says, "I hope you can; I am quite excited about it."

Vaemyr says, "I should get some rest as well."

Speaking to Xorus, Raelee asks, "... do you find in recent weeks you have encountered an improbable number of conversations surrounding ovines?"

Leafiara cheerfully says, "I should go butcher some bandits and claim it as noble deed."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Dont agree much, luvs ya anyways."
