Stalls can be purchased to provide a comfortable home for a mount at any town's stable. This is a place that you can visit your mount when you are not riding it or it is not following you around.

Fast travel options work from inside stalls, so long as the ability functions in that area AND you have purchased this upgrade from the stablehand.

Stalls allow groups to enter. Mounted group members will be dismounted, as there's only enough room for one mount to exist in each stall. Stalls allow both magic and familiars, you can teleport out of stalls but not into them.

Purchasing a Stall

Each town stable has a stablehand who can assist with purchasing a stall for your mount. The stablehand can also swap out which of your mounts is homed in the stable, and also sells access to the MOUNT TRAVEL options. They can be purchased by ASKing the stablehand about BUYing one. They cost 75,000 raikhen.

Stalls are purchased for the room where you speak with the stablehand. Once purchased, a stall will have its stall door renamed to indicate either the owner's name or the mount's name, if the mount has been given a name via a Potion of Naming. If all stalls in a given room already have names, there are no more available in that room. In this case, you will need to find a room with stalls available to purchase one.

Stablehands can be ASKed about SWAP MOUNT to change which mount is homed in the stall for 1,250 raikhen, or about SWAP TOWN to move the entire stall to a different town's stable.

Stablehands also sell lofts for stalls.

Customizing Stalls

Stalls can have their appearance changed via pre-written options available at Quit Stallin' at Rumor Woods. Blueprint certificates change the overall room description, while other certificates can add interactive objects to the room. Some of the objects that can be added are specific to certain type of mounts, such as a horse mount or a tortoise mount. Not all objects will work with all mount types. Be certain to read all information about each certificate before purchasing it to make sure that it will work with your mount type.

Objects for mounts that can be added to stalls include:

  • Bedding
  • Feed pail
  • Hay rack
  • Watering trough

Other additions to stalls include:

  • Bench
  • Storage
  • Trash can
  • Node upgrade

A storage container begins with 50lbs of storage located inside of it. Objects stored inside of a stall's storage container are safe from the janitor. Additional storage container capacity can be applied via upgrade certificate in 10lb increments, up to a maximum of 200lbs. Stalls are limited to one storage container.

Mount summoning items cannot be stored inside of a stall's storage container.

Trash can objects can be purchased as a stand alone trash can that appears in the "You also see" line of the room, or they can be purchased as a trash can room description, such as, "A small hole in the floor serves as a waste receptacle." A CLEAN function can also be purchased to clean up objects left on the ground in a stall room, similar to how inn tables work.

Loft

A loft can be added to an already-purchased stall to provide a second room above it. Lofts are purchased from the stablehand at the stable where you already own a stall. This is done by ASKing the stablehand about LOFT. Lofts cost 25,000 raikhen.

Like stables, lofts can be remodeled via loft voucher certificates sold at A Lofty Affair at Rumor Woods. In addition to pre-written room descriptions with six objects imbedded in the description, the individual scripted props can be independantly customized via pre-written certificates:

  • Bed
  • Lantern
  • Rope
  • Rug
  • Seating
  • Window

A node upgrade for the loft can also be added via certificate.
