Larsya is the young daughter of deceased Baron Spensor Caulfield. Her mother is also deceased. She has an older brother, Breshon Caulfield, who is the Baron of Bourth as of 5122. She loves the open sea like her mother once did, and her father called her his "little elf." She is a ranger and loves the Wyrdeep Forest, and traveled to Wehnimer's Landing with her father to enjoy some time near the sea while her father conducted business in the area. In Koaratos, 5116, many adventurers in Wehnimer's Landing helped Larsya bond with her first animal companion, a golden-brown wolf that she named Dawn. About a week later she was struck from the shadows by a poisoned arrow which forced her to age at an accelerated rate, prompting adventurers to seal her in a stasis in a crystal coffin until a cure could be found. The would-be assassin is thought to be a man named Vinswith, who was later found. She was eventually healed, but has bouts of forgetfulness, melancholy and immaturity along with streaks of grey in her hair from the trauma of the ordeal.

She's been involved in the Darkstone Bay Consortium since its announcement and nominally leads the Hendor Outpost in the Grasslands since her brother Breshon departed. She can often be found at the Rusty Cutlass and remains fond of pirating and shenanigans.

Background

Larsya Caulfield was born on Imaerasta 28th, 5108 Modern Era as the daughter of Baron Spensor Caulfield of Bourth. Her mother was half-elven from the Wyrdeep, and Larsya has latent druidic or ranger powers which sometimes manifest. Her brother Breshon Caulfield succeeded their father as Baron of Bourth after Spensor's funeral, which Larsya had resisted attending, having refused to see him after he abandoned her when she was sick. Larsya had been struck with an epochxin arrow and was placed in a bane coffin near Melgorehn's Reach by Lord Brieson Cassle of the Hall of Mages. Brieson was able to stabilize her outside of the coffin later that year using a slight modification of the anti-Everblood salve, which was also the cure for the half-elven blackblood sickness, but this left Larsya elderly and stuck in a time loop of discovering her aged condition.

Larsya was essentially frozen in time between the fall of 5116 and the fall of 5118, when her poisoned affliction was reversed with the aid of a low steel device by Praxopius, with the assistance of adventurers casting wizardly magic and a researched formula that included soil from the Bleaklands. This process reversed her body to the moment it was struck by the arrow, leaving her approximately two years younger than her age according to calendars. Maggots were expelled from Larsya's body and burned up. Larsya was being turned into one of Raznel's paragons, essentially a temporal and demon blood analog of a phylactery. In fact, Larsya resided in the Hendoran Outpost in his time looping state when Naimorai Kestrel resided there in 5117 Modern Era, who found Larsya incredibly annoying and who studied the work that had been done on her. Naimorai would become lost in the past from a Melgorehn's Reach temporal accident, and eventually became the witch Raznel, afflicting Larsya with the aid of her knowledge of future events.

Grishom Stone had sought Larsya's blood while she was still sick in 5118 to gain access to the Deadfall forest, which was surrounded by a magical barrier that had been created by Wyrdeep druids in 5115 Modern Era. He offered to fix her in exchange for it being willingly given. Her brother Breshon refused. He instead brought in an alchemist from Estoria named Praxopius, to assist with a cure, who it would turn out had ulterior motives. Grishom Stone would later return to retrieve his mein golems that were stored in the Hendoran Outpost, and used the Star of Khar'ta to rip blood out of elves all over the continent, so that he could force his way through the barrier into the Deadfall.

When Breshon left to return to Bourth to care for their father, Larsya refused to leave, and held resentment against Spensor for having abandoned her. Larsya would not see him before his death. But she essentially forgave him at his funeral in the Wyrdeep forest, when the fey spirits appeared to be unwilling to accept him. Larsya was left nominally in command of the Hendoran Outpost. However, in practice imperial officials such as Grand Magister Octaven would do things without informing her, as she was just a child. Larsya became a voting member of the Darkstone Bay Consortium when it was founded by Amos. She enjoys shooting people with suction cup arrows and pretending to be a pirate.

In 5122 it was necessary to use a sample of Larsya's blood to unlock a parchment that had been made by Praxopius, who intended it to be received by Xorus, whose work was the basis of what Praxopius had done with blood. Praxopius had weaponized her cursed blood in the process of curing her, creating the "Blue Suffer" contagious poison that afflicted relatives of the krolvin warlord Kragnack. The message was supposedly the formula for the poison, which Praxopius had publicly promised to deliver to Xorus on a two year delay, but which never arrived because his assistant Snout had been killed. This was not in fact a formula, but a message where Praxopius explained his plan to trick the krolvin into believing this existed with the potential to wipe out their entire race, so that the krolvin would destroy themselves in an endless war with the Turamzzyrian Empire trying to find it. This was Praxopius attempting to assure that the krolvin genocide poison would continue to be developed long after his death.
