Unicorn mount

Unicorn mounts were introduced as a standalone rare tier mount at the 2022 Rumor Woods event, following the release of unicorns from Caligos Isle during the conclusion of its questline. While they are sold alongside horses and share many common qualities, unicorns are classified separately from the other types of mounts. As a result, items that are made to work with horses do not necessarily work for unicorns; items for unicorns clearly state this in their ANALYZE. Unicorns are summoned by reins, which are a summoning item that stores their information but is considered a separate item. Unicorns only exist as a rare tier mount. There are no common or uncommon types of unicorns available. They come in two forms, white and black, corresponding to the two types of unicorns that were released from Caligos Isle. As with other mounts, unicorns can be given a name visible to the owner with a Potion of Naming, available at Evermore Hollow. Appearance Purchased unicorns come in the form of a gold-horned immaculate white unicorn and a silver-horned raven-sheened black unicorn. While they can be altered at the Ostler, their grooming options are very limited compared to other mounts. White unicorns must remain white, and black unicorns must remain black. White Unicorn With a regal bearing, the unicorn observes the world through cerulean eyes, and dense white lashes frame her steady gaze. Her coat, from muzzle to rump, is immaculate white, with only a bit of pink found within the shell of her ears. The forelock, mane, tail, and fetlock feathers are a different story, having a subtle opalescence that reflects a pastel rainbow. Her hooves bear a glittering golden sheen within their natural keratinous formation, and her spiraled horn boasts a far more lustrous finish. Black Unicorn From muzzle to tail, the unicorn is an uncompromising shade of black with a blue-violet sheen resembling that found on a raven's wing. His eyes are onyx-hued, flecked with bits of silver so delicate they seem little more than curls of metallic leafing. His mane and tail are long and silky, and the tufts on his fetlocks bear the same lustrous coloring common to corvids. A subtle shimmer of silver glints in the natural keratinous formation of his hooves, and his horn is a matte-finished argent spiral. Special Ability As with all rare mounts, unicorns have a special ability unique to them. Associated with one of their random ambient messages, a unicorn may cry in grief due to being severed from the dream realm, resulting in a single teardrop falling onto the ground. Casting her gaze skyward, the unicorn's demeanor changes subtly as a pall of forlorn silence overtakes her. Starlight reflects in her eyes and slowly coalesces into a single teardrop that glides down the contours of her white face to splash upon the ground. Anyone who touches the teardrop will gain a temporary alteration to the unique feature field that looks like: A shimmering sheen of (pearlescent/nacreous) light washes over every inch of (his/her) exposed flesh. In addition, as the unicorns are mischevious and magical creatures from the drealm realm, they have a chance of giving their owner a dream while they are summoned. Receiving a dream causes the owner to briefly fall to the ground asleep. Upon waking, a physical item may be found in hand as a memento of the dream. This cannot happen while the owner is mounted. There are a wide variety of possible dreams and mementos from them. There are 62 different possible dreams. The unicorn approaches the figure, the folds of their heavy hood turning back and forth as it shakes, their arm gently waving the unicorn away in a reassuring gesture. As the figure dissipates into the shadows, the unicorn trots alongside you, leaning slightly into your form. Additional Information Dreams As of June 2023, there are 62 possible dreams associated with unicorns. Both black and white unicorns share the same dreams with their owners. Dreams have a chance of leaving an object in the hand of the owner when they awake that is directly related to the events in the dream. List of possible dreams Bugs on Parade One of the random ambient messages will reference insects seen as part of the Bugs on Parade series. While the bug is not turned into an object, it is taken directly from what types are possible in the given room and will be some sort of large winged insect. She remains still for a long moment before the ebony butterfly rises once more and flies away. Feeding Your Mount Feeding a mount is not mandatory, but it is a fun roleplaying option. Mounts will not eat anything that is not part of the basic food system OR a foraged item, but they all trap on specific nouns.
